    Went to a Vietnamese restaurant yesterday my partner ordered Hu Tieu and it was tasty. My curiosity led me to your channel. I don’t like liver because it taste bitter. I was surprised that the liver makes the bulk of the broth.

    Chị có thể hướng dẫn cách làm Cơm gà Hội An không ạ?

    Chi Trang, I think you missed 2 toppping ingredients which are fried garlic and Vietnamese celery. This 2 ingredients make this soup distinct from other, in my opinion.

      +Ha Vuong I ran out of fried garlic so substituted with fried onions instead and my store didn't have the Chinese celery. You can definitely add when you make. 😃

    That is one great looking recipe. I've been eating homemade chicken liver that is similar to pate and am trying to incorporate more liver into my diet. I hear liver is good for you so it's fortuitous that you post this recipe. :) Just not sure where to get pork liver in Austin. Hehe. BTW, why did you add vinegar to the liver bath?

    • @Dakhil1996
      @Dakhil1996 7 років тому +1

      Just to answer your question, vinegar helps prevent the liver from discolouring.

      Hi DG, I haven't been to Austin but curious about the Asian community there. Are there any Asian chain grocery stores like 99 Ranch Market? I use the vinegar to clean the liver. It neutralizes the strong smell.

      Austin totally lacks Asian grocers. There's a clustering up north, but in South Austin, nothing. We have lots of Indian grocers and such, but East Asian stuff, not as much. I want to make a Southeast Asian dish but don't want to drive all the way up north just to get fresh herbs for my noodles! LOL! Don't believe all the hype about Austin having great food. It has a lot of restaurants, but you get more cultural variety in Houston and Dallas. They have cool stuff in Austin, but the food, although abundant, isn't necessarily worth all the hype. :)

      Good to know. I've heard great things about Austin and planning a visit later this year. Usually the first thing I do when visiting a new area is to check out the local Asian grocers. :)
