1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
1 small stick lemongrass
1 garlic clove
⅓ cup green onion, white part
5 Kaffir lime leaves
1 packed tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tbsp fish sauce
¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp honey
½ tsp hoisin sauce
6 10-inch bamboo skewers

1 tsp muỗng cà phê mật ong
½ tsp muỗng cà phê tương đen/ tương ăn phở

I use your recipe tonight for pork thin slice in bun thit nướng.Adding the combination of honey and hoisin sauce to the marinated pork before sauté in very hot nonstick frying pan with some oil to brown the meat. It is out of this world. Thanks a million for this wonderful recipe. It is the best.

thank you for this recipe. Used belly pork instead of chicken.I didn't have fresh lemongrass and used 1tsp lemongrass powder instead. also, instead of hoisin sauce, I used black bean garlic paste as a suggested substitute and it was also delicious with the honey as baste.

Made several different versions and your recipe is definitely the best most flavorful. Although perfect as is I do add a bird's eye chili and a squeeze of lime juice. Just me being me.
I just made it today. I couldn't find the kaffir lime leaves in my local grocery store, so I made the chicken without the lime leaves. The chicken was so tasty and juicy. Thanks for the recipe chị Vân. :)

Kaffar lime leaves are easily available on Amazon. They keep great in the freezer.
I just finished making your chicken skewer recipe. Although I didn't have the lemongrass or kaffir lime leaves, the chicken turned out incredibly delicious anyway.

I tried your recipe for the marinade and used both chicken and pork. They turned out great! I would definitely recommend using the marinade with pork because it was way more flavorful compared to the chicken (maybe because pork absorbed the marinade more/better than the chicken?). :D

I made these on the weekend and my family loved them - can't remember the last time when something was gone that fast! To not waste the green part of the green onions I also made stir-fried rice with green onions, bell pepper, carrots and sesame seeds (plus a little bit of sesame oil) and it fit nicely.
I had to use more honey and hoisin sauce (about 1Tbsp and 1/2Tbsp), maybe mine were too thick. Oh, and yes, I replaced the lime leaves with the peel of half a lime (can't get the leaves here).
If there was just one thing I'd change: Add something that's a little bit spicy to cut through all the sweetness, maybe some gojuchang? Definitely going to try that next time (and yes, there's going to be a next time!).
