Evil/Innocent: The Story of Korn's Debut Album, Part 2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 жов 2020
- It isn't hyperbole to say that Korn changed the direction of heavy music with the release of their 1994 self-titled debut. "Are you ready?!" goes Jonathan Davis' opening cry - a generation of disaffected youths was. In our new short film, 'Evil/Innocent: The Story of Korn,' we take an in-depth look at the creation and legacy of the trailblazing album. Watch the conclusion of the two-part doc.

My dad told me a story from their first tour. My dad and his friend drove the whole band somewhere in my dads friends Mercedes. The whole band climbed into the back of my dads friends Mercedes and they took them to some after party. My dad was on tour with biohazard at the time.
John and chino singing Alanis Morissette might be the highlight of my year🖤
They should cover now that song .. xD
what songg?
Shoots and Ladders is still the most beautiful opening to a metal song ever. Tears every time
Me too man love the bagpipes. Hits my soul
I feel the sameee!!! Since i m sixteen
I want a FULL documentary 😩 KoRn is my favourite band!
There's quite a few out there.
Duce Morn put out on DVD in 2000!!
Check out who then now and who then now vol.2
Right? 6min at a time is getting on my last nerve.
Right I want a 2 hour long serious full fledged documentary on Korn from birth to now lol
The KoЯn self titled album has helped me so much. I wish so bad I could talk to Jonathan and tell him about my life
I lived your dream and let me tell you JD is a kind and humble man. He even signed my arm so I could tattoo over his autograph. Shout out to bodyguard Big Sleep for letting JD spend a few extra minutes with me and sign, take pictures and chat with the GOAT.
Man I know most people don't care because they have their own problems, but I had a very abusive step mom and step dad. My own mom is a gangbanger/drug dealer. I was in foster care with my brother and we were separated. I was abused and neglected and starved and locked in the basement and you name it. JD's story and KoЯn was my biggest outlet to keep me from commiting suicide. I even have an aunt and uncle in bakersfield and I used to live there with them 3 years ago and I left and wandered bakersfield for 5 days straight hoping to find John. I walked the streets of bakersfield and slept in church yards and bus stops you name it. Man if any manager of korn or anybody from korn sees this please help me get in touch my life is a million dollar story I promise when I write my autobiography I will be rich. Someone get me in contact with Jonathan Davis
I met him last year on his solo tour. Saw him play a private acoustic performance for me and 12 other people. Best moment of my life hands down.
I wish I could meet him as well. 9 years after my husband and I split, he passed away at the age of 32 from diabetic complications and he loved Korn as much as I do and I'm happy we got to see Korn together.
He doesn't care lol
I'm hoping this has more unknown Korn material, all the other stuff from part 1 we already knew. These are hardcore Korn fans you're dealing with :)
I love watching the old videos of the songs that were rearranged and watching korn become the band we all love. Layla is one of my favorites.
@RBS actually they used footage from Kornmemorabilia

That’s what I’m saying lol. I still have their deuce DVD from back in the day n I remember trying so hard to find certain things bc that dvd menu was like a maze lol
I wouldn’t be sitting here making this comment if it wasn’t for Shoots And Ladders. Thank you for showing me I wasn’t the only one feeling my feelings Korn.
Glad you are still here.

When things were at their very worst:
2 Suns, Cross in the sky, 2 comets will collide = don`t be afraid - repent, accept Lord`s Hand of Mercy.
Scientists will say it was a global illusion.
Beaware - Jesus will never walk in flesh again.
After WW3 - rise of the “ man of peace“ from the East = Antichrist - the most powerful, popular, charismatic and influential leader of all time. Many miracles will be attributed to him. He will imitate Jesus in every conceivable way.
Don`t trust „pope“ Francis = the False Prophet
- will seem to rise from the dead
- will unite all Christian Churches and all Religions as one.
One World Religion = the seat of the Antichrist.
Benedict XVI is the last true pope - will be accused of a crime of which he is totally innocent.
„Your banking collapse was deliberately masterminded by the Antichrist so that when your countries needed help, he and his wicked minions would rise to rescue your countries.“
„He will wait until wars rage everywhere.
Then he will step in and create a false peace in the state of Israel by joining them with palestine in an unlikely alliance. Everyone will lavish praise on him.
He will not stop there, for he will move at a pace which will astonish many and he will negotiate peace agreements in many war-torn nations.“
"He will impress everyone with his knowledge of all things sacred.
He will recite extracts from My Teachings, which he will passionately proclaim from every secular stage in the world, until people sit up and take notice of him."
The Book of Truth
First time i heard Shoots and Ladders "why they do a song about nursery rhymes?" didn't understand they're exposing the nursery rhymes, as a kid your taught those and sing those songs and isn't till you really study them closely realize most of them are based on some pretty fucked up shit!
@@michaelgabs9885 Normally I don’t comment on something like this, but Slayer did say:
Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war
Religion is rape
Religion is obscene
Religion is a whore
You can have your own beliefs, but leaving a comment like that on my thread isn’t kosher in my books.
94 Korn it´s (in my opinion) the best era of the band. Miss David´s grooves, mixed very well with Fieldy and the rest of the guys.
Thanks for this video!
One of the most honest and influential bands. The demo of Daddy can make your skin crawl because of the raw emotion from Jonathan. They will always be one of my go top 5. As a teenager it was easy to relate to what Jonathan was singing about.
Never wanted a Monday to hurry up and get here untill RIGHT NOW
I see what you did there I ain’t BLIND lol
WERE YOU READYYYYY
@@connorlake44 Fuck yes!!!6
that's so awesome they were in their early 20s and they just took off
Priceless - Young Chino and Jonathan - starting up at the same time.
Does anybody know if there's more material on YT of that great sounding concert at the end of the video ?
That comes from their first home video that they released in like 97 or some shit like that. They also had a rare lp of rare songs and b sides from their earlier shit from before the self titled. I used to have it when I was a kid. It's probably really hard to find now days. Can't think of what it was called for the life of me now. It has to be here on UA-cam somewhere. Wtf was it called? It has some good shit on there along with two movie soundtrack songs. The song sean olson was one of em I remember that much. Had some fucked up Christmas song as well. Now I gotta try and find it
@@nowimhigh Found it - it's "The Nothing" album release concert - it's on their UA-cam Korchannel. Clown and Faget never sounded better live than in this version. Crazy
@@nowimhigh Who Then Now?
Their first album was their best. VERY special!
I'm hoping this is much longer than the first one!!
I think it's just over 6 minutes. I could watch korn homemovies and rare/backstage videos all day. I still have the "Korn" who then now on VHS. Bought it at Sam Goodies. Got my arm autographed by JD in black sharpie and went strait to my tattoo artist after the show.
That's what she said
@@andycooper9388 that video is a classic , use to get so drunk and watch that and the double Nin VHS all the time when I was a kid
About 29 seconds longer 🤘😁
You can easily figure that out.
I wish it was longer. Korn is a amazing band. Them and Slipknot got me through some tuff times
been listening deftones and korn a lot during the pandemic. honestly music is the only thing getting me through this bc rn my life like most people rn is crap so bless music bless korn.
I don't blame you.
I still remember when I first saw Korn on Headbangers Ball on MTV back in 95, my first reaction was "what the hell did I just watch", they were so unique, they sounded so fresh and heavy, and looked so different with all that adidas and baggy clothes, I was intrigued. A few days later I bought the first album on cassette
I was in third grade when I found out about Korn, my teacher was sick and had his high school student assistant sub the class one day, he gave us our assignments and when I finished first I went to my teachers desk where the sub was and I saw him jamming out while everyone else was doing work, I asked him "hey, what you listing to?" he said "Korn! you ever heard of them?" me I reply "like food corn?" he chuckles and says " yes like the food but its spelled with a K, you wanna listen?" and long story short Been a fan since, thank you student teacher sub for showing me one of the most influential metal bands ever.
that’s awesome
Never really 'heard' of this band until AFTER I got out of juvie, cuz partner the cell next kept inscribing K-O-R-N, but with the backwards r, on the walls!! 😱😱 Ok I thought if this ain't mania, then I must be listening to mute math cuz this was absolute deafening wizardry when I got out, got on and let spin!!- 😁✌🖤
Hehe. I got arrested for public intox about 20 years ago. Crazy night. At that time I was listening to a lot of Korn. When I woke up in the drunk tank the next morning I used the metal on my converse shoes to inscribe KORN really bigley on the wall in front of everyone. I almost got caught by the guard outside the door telling me to keep down the noise.😂.
one of the best bands ever so original and every single member is so special their lyrics are amazing everything about this dudes is freaking awesome
Im so old I have korn snailmail newsletters and the 1st album and demos on cassette tape.
I was 14 when korn debuted and it changed my life. The opening ride cymbal build-up to the lyric vocal ARE YOU READY!!!!!!
Hooked for life. Dozens of shows if the last 26 years and I still can't get enough 🌽
Yeah, what was that called neidermans game or head or something, it was epic
@MusicMoviesGames ah. I was pretty close lol. Thank you.
ive been a fan since 1996, and only seen them 3 times. Lucky you! You live in Cali?
One of the bands i want to see
"im not going to play bagpipes and skat every record."
I feel like he was talking to me... lol fuck
Chino and Jonathan footage was really cool 👍.
Love Jon's voice on all the albums, but I think in terms of a "singing" voice it was the best on the first 2. It was innocent, but also had an Eddie Vedder/grunge accent that was super unique. Korn for life🌽
Eddie Vedder?! Get out of here..
5:32 don't know if that's an original riff but I love that sound
im trying to figure out if thats a song or not i really like it
@@brendanlanglais2388 Same!!
seeing chino and Jonathan sing alanis has made my life
The best nu-metal album ever
Hey y'all who else is waitin'

Me 2!
✋🌽😁
It was on premier and we were waiting.
God I wish they would remaster and release that first demo and Layla, This Broken Soul and Xmas Song...
Korn is and always will be my fav band been listening to them forever and having Deuce and all the behind the scenes on disc is amazing and it’s our bible this will always be my fav album 💙🔥
Thank you for this Revolver. Korn is and will always be my favorite band.
This is absolutely fascinating.... wish it was longer!
I am completely on board for more parts of this series
I loved these videos! Thank you Korn for your music! You saved my life and helped me through some dark shit!
These videos are such a tease. I want to see a full documentary!
Saw this and instant click! Korn are pure legends. League of their own!
a lot of people like to bash korn for their newer albums but PLEASE listen to the nothing. it’s a great album. it’s fcking amazing and it sucks that they’ve had such great music over the years but all anybody wants is “old korn” i would be hurt if my fans only cared for my old work and nothing else. artists deserve appreciation for all their hard work. not saying you have to like everything but at least respect that they still make music after all this time and jonathan still pours his heart out the way he does.
Honestly... I miss David but yeah things happened for a reason.
@whiteorangatange Man, I'd argue that Korn was on the downward before David left. TALITM and SYOTOS were both pretty weak compared to the first 5.
I hope you do more interviews I love Korn so much and im only 15 and all of then are such an inspiration and I look up to them. They are amazing
Great video. I love hearing the background story to these bands. 'We had no idea what was going to happen'.
Love the mini documentary. I hope to see more Revolver Magazine covers with KoRn featured on it. They're my favorite metal band. They trailblazed like not too many others.🤘
Thanks for this.
I love that Jon and I have such a similar mindset. I've been thinkin the same shit when i was writing my songs.
I'll always remember the bagpipes at the Megadeth show at Compton Terrace outside Phoenix. Awesome show!
Pretty sure we saw the same tour. I was sooo high when he came out with those pipes... I was hot shit with my little 95lb goth gf, and we were both blown away. Came to see Megadeth, left with a new favorite band. Had the cd the next day and went to my buds house and we smoked out and I made them a new fan. Miss the days when you discovered cool new bands at shows while experiencing them instead of the internet...🙁
I really want life is peachy documentary like this one ..
Life saving band. Thank you
I need a full documentary about my hometown heroes!!!! KoRn is my favorite as well as some of my heroes and an in depth documentary would be so appreciated.
I can't wait for the part 3.
Man I wish these parts were longer than 6 minutes. But it’s still cool nevertheless 🤘🏼
love jons pants in the last clip with the creds rolling, they look awesome!!
Gracias Korn por la magia
KORN!
I had the luck of growing up in this era and seeing korn early on.. not only that catching deftones before they blew up in the same weeks. It was amazing. 2 shows that I will never forget. The defines show is on UA-cam 24 years later
please @revolvermagazine keep uploading more!!!!
That album was a special place in a special place in time for me
I know bands evolve and korn has certainly done so, but the next album, let’s hear some of them bag pipes! A mix of the korn, untouchables and take a look in the mirror would be an amazing album! I love you guys!
My first concert ever, Korn 99. I'll never forget it.
I reaaaaally hope this is longer than 6 minutes with stuff I haven't already seen this time.
So much love 4 them
my favorite band !
Arco Arena in Sac April 99 ..Chino came out on stage and did Wicked with Korn ..I still got the VHS tapes of that show
damn, I want moreeee
1:22
Speechless rn
David was a beast on the drums
Man, I wished they did this documentary for deftones adrenaline. Other than that, u can't deny the impact of korn on the world
Damn, Chino and JD.... 😻
awesome album
Ross Robinson produced the first album by Fear Factory (Concrete), he won the rights of that album until 2002. But after the Concrete album he did Korns first album. Pretty cool to see someone that worked with Fear Factory eventually ended up with Korn and became one of the biggest producers since.
These interview is a Too short ...I want more !!!!!
I saw Korn in Sacramento back in 1996 open up for kmfdm at this place called the El Dorado Saloon
This is so inspiring.
Korn is fucking badass
Korn was the last live concert I saw before covid. Was only my second official concert after seeing Slayer with Primus and Ministry a few months before. Nonetheless, Korn had given me my favorite live show experience and I can't wait to see them again when all this bullshit is through!
I want more ! 💗🤘🤘💗
This is very pog
Korn!!!🖤🖤
These documentaries are badass! Y’all should do one for slipknot’s self titled album or iowa
Korn one of the best bands to ever do it. 🤘🏼
This reminds of that old VHS tape they had :)
Who Then Now, I had that I miss it
Interesting that Muggs was an inspiration. He is the best to ever do it.
PART 3 PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
Damn bro you sound like you're doing an interview under witness protection
Love you guys!!!
Their first album is in my top 5 of all time
To this day it continues to be a huge influence on newer bands. Spite is a good example
The band that changed the metal game KORN🤘
The very first clip in this video was filmed at the Engine Room in Ft. Worth, TX on the Sick of it All/Orange 9MM tour.
You can find the entire show if you search Korn Dallas 1995
The epitome of the 90's.
Korn’s first album is the best album ever hands down!
This is fucking awesome...
Need more Korn damn it not long enough
Fuck yeah!!! MORE!!!!
🖤
LOL @ Munky, "Is that like a scrotum?"
So......this will be much longer? Yeah?
Fuck it’s a tease we need moreeee
This should be longer..Life is peachy had tracks that were supposed to be on this album and Everything untill ISSUES was pretty much the golden Era...

I miss old korn. First 3 albums were unbeatable
Y'all want a documentary ;)
i fuking love him
I know people blame Korn and RATM for creating a genre of music that allowed a band like Limp Bizkit to become huge for a hot minute but Korn's (and RATM's for that matter) first albums are absolutely amazing so cut them a little slack, 😄
