I don’t bobber fish. I bounce beads. I have caught 98% of my salmon and steelhead have been with spinners. Your tips are awesome. Helped increase my catch amount. Pnw
I caught my first steelhead on a #4 Blue Fox with silver blade and chrome blue body back in the early 90's. Usually fish will slam a spinner but every once in a while you get one that swims at you with the spinner and all you feel is the blade stop spinning... SET THE HOOK!
There is nothing I love more than fishing spinners for salmon and steelhead and feeling that hard hit. There's never any guess about that fish being on or not.
It makes me laugh to see that some people give them a thumbs down 😂😂 these guys have over 68k subs and only get like 500 likes a video they definitely deserve a few thousand likes a vid cmon guys.
I've not tried them for steelhead, but the Mepps Flyin' C is a good spinner for Coho. They have a 7/8 ounce size that works well in deeper holes or faster water. (And it casts like it was shot out of a cannon.)
My biggest steelhead came from the sandy river on a #5 brass vibrax below marmot dam. Was #24 lbs native and I released it after fighting it all the way to the cliffs a 1/4+ mile downriver. Untill I landed it I thought it was a king. Was bright spawning colors and it was early May 2001. Slammed it hard as it came up over a big boulder and the steelhead was hiding next to it. Watched the whole thing happen and the fish just rocket downstream peeling line. 10# line.
Love the video, this has always been my favorite way to fish. Grew up using Mepps, but my favorite has always been the ones I make at home after looking a catalogs of spinners and then try to imitate one or make my own design, my arsenal is a lot like Jordan's. Some of my best days of fishing I never got a fish. because I was fishing and life dose not get any better then that.
I LOVE TO GO FISHING SO FUN FUN KEEP ON FISHING NEVER STOP FISHING SO FUN FUN KEEP ON FISHING NEVER STOP FISHING SO FUN FUN KEEP ON FISHING 🎣🐟FAN OF ADDICTED🎣🐟😁❤
To late im always spending money on spinners just to have variety and buying them is addicting im surprised you dont use giant panther martins with the high variety of colors they have and high vibrations i love the amount area you can spin through to annoy the fush to strike
Thanks for the great insight. It's similar to what I do when bass fish as well. I just started steelhead and salmon fishing for the first time, after years of bass fishing and big game saltwater fishing. WOW...this is such a fun fishery... just...WOW!! What a blast!!!
I use homemade spinners mostly! Colour choice makes fish bite. But I always follow up with jigs and bait. Love finding eager steelhead that bite a flashing blade , especially if you made it!!!!😋😋😋 Western New York Rocks💥
NWEO had made $70 off your other spinner video from me alone. You guys need a referral link, I mentioned you're why I bought em during coho season, I figured they were going to be way too large for a steelhead, I guess not?
Great video. How long of a bumper are you guys using between the spinner and tying to the main line (via blood knot)? I tie my mono bumper to braided mainline so any insight would be great. Thanks.
Boys I ain’t going fishing alone anymore. Straight up heard the loudest roar I’ve ever heard. My dog was acting wild before it happened, he didn’t even want to get off my porch. Im had to pick him up and bring him into the yard, but he wanted back in the house. That’s when I heard this crazy shit. It was so load I didn’t know what direction it was from. It shook my body. The only way I can describe it is if you were at a concert and stood in front of some big fucking speakers. It shook me in my chest. I live in port angeles and live on the border of the national Forrest. All I know is it wasn’t a bear. At first it was breathing in and out fast like some kind gorilla or chimp, this it roared like a fucking T. rex. I never believed my dads experience at the cowlitz, I do now.
I got a couple questions. 1. I see in your box you have single hooks to replace the trebles. What hook is that? 2. We fish in these wet, rainy conditions. Are you putting anything inside the boxes to absorb the moisture and prevent rust? 3. Studded felt wader boots or what?
What about a snap swivel on the end of the main line for a quick change of spinner will it mess up presentation or anything ? Or will the fish see it and not want it cuz the swivel ?
I like the snap swivels for quick change out but they say it takes from the action of the spinners. Fish will hit it with the snap swivel on it but I have noticed some problems with consistent action with some spinners. I was thinking about eliminating the swivel and just tying a duolock on and hoping the wire diameter on the duolock isn't an issue.
You guys should do a section on knots and compare them on break strength. I see you guys use the fisherman’s knot and there are much better knots for fluorocarbon. I understand that it’s easy to tie but when your using expensive lures or you only have one chance at a trophy fish why not use the best knots to try to eliminate breaking them off?
I dont know if my comment will be seen or if anything will be considered but…. Its worth a try. I’m a beginner and I have been trying to learn how to fish for three weeks no bites, or catches. 😢 I have been googling and the only thing that comes up are your videos. I like them but they aren’t beginner friendly. I watch to see how you rig but it doesn’t really show or you direction is very fast. I didn’t know if that’s something maybe you can keep in mind or maybe start a channel for beginner fishermen, or for stupid people like me 😂or do you recommend another channel who is a little slower?
I guess not a bad video about fishing tips but how about you give us some catching tips sure anybody can go check spinners all day long but show us that the way you're checking them actually catches fish
Men don,t make comments like that, just boys and posers. There are many ways to fish, different conditions, species, techniques. Getting outdoors, practicing and enjoying yourself is what it is all about, not dissing people who may do it different than you.
No, the poser is the spin fisher holding a threatened species out of the water for a glory photo to make a profit on social media. Spin fishing for threatened species is unethical. I'm so sorry I bruised your fragile ego.

Your an outcast and your choosing to be that on your own. Your mindset is completely wrong. To say we’re fishing for a threatened species with a spinning reel is causing harm? Very good information. I wish I could have seen this video years ago before I had to learn all this by trial and error.

What color do you use?
I caught a sliver blade chartreuse tipped, Michal Jackson body, spinner with a mustad hook, on the klickitat, wonder if its Jordan's, lol
Do a video on the old school steelhead favorite spoon the “steelie”. Used to slam them behind rocks in fast low water on steelies

Thanks for the great tips. Here in Ontario Canada float fishing with a centerpin is the most popular. As this type of fishing is new to me

what's a combo I can fish steelhead and salmon and sometimes bass with? spinning and casting. please and thank you!
Very informative thank you
Do kodiak custom spinners work down there? I use them for silvers here in Alaska. Never tried them in Oregon.

Enjoyed this video.
Question. What blade finish for what light conditions? I use silver in sunny weather but when should I use brass or copper? Low and clear?
I liked me a half ounce stinger ,or a number 4 blue fox spinners, and I have made a few of my own hoemade spinners.

Jordan: “don’t spend hundreds of dollars on your spinners” ME: Oops 😬
Guys, some urban fishing maybe whenever you guys get the time? I'll be nice to see you guys fishing in the city.
Are you using a swivel on the hook? Like you do on spoons.
Do you guys ever use large spinners for winter steelhead?
Randy Eggleston I caught my largest winter steelhead on #5 vibrax in brass. It was 24#. Late season winter fish in early May upper sandy river
A fish on a spinner is my goal this year, thanks Jordan And Marlin!

I being using homemade spinners since the early seventies. Check me out on fishbrain. I do carry two rods!

Would you ever add a worm to a spinner?
What do you mean by Michael Jackson's tale, is it the way way it spins? And what is the name of the actual spinner
How long of bumper? Because fish will see the braid and run away
Hey guys, I'm trying to order those hooks for my spinners, can you tell me if the ones you use are the "Mustad Big gun siwash hooks?"
Guess not.
