- After planning, building and upholstering this custom subwoofer box that is going to hold four 10" subwoofers we are finally ready to install in the underseat location of the truck! I need to wire these subs, mount them, do some initial systems settings, and finally the moment we are waiting for, take a listen! Can these four tens in such a small air volume sound amazing? Let’s find out and get this installed!

Car Audio Fabrication - Master Car Audio - Design, Build, Install
This man is a car audio god😂he's so precise down to every tiny detail, I love doing my own installs and setting up everything myself but he's one of the only people I would step away from my car and have at it😂😂
Wow that sounds solid, even through my headphones you can tell it's gold.
with the insane amount of detail and planning that goes into just sound quality builds, id love to see mark do like an SPL or SQL build, just to see his knowledge and craftsmanship stretch its legs ^^
“Attaching a car to a vehicle” 😂
If he didn't flash "*WHEELS*" on the screen I would have went outside and tried it. I had one sleeve through my jacket, keys in hand. LOL
I had four JL 10w3v2 subs in my old Silverado in a custom sealed box with 1000w RMS Rockford amp. That was some seriously good sounding, hard hitting bass! It's been 10 years since it was stolen and I'm still mad about it!!! I've since settled on two 12s and it's just not the same.
The star pattern definitely still counts for mounting these speakers. You definitely don’t want one side way tighter than the other to avoid unnecessary vibrations.
X configuration
I just got 1 single tw3 installed in my frontier. Sounds so good for 1 10”. I couldn’t image 4 of them.
It's the little details that keep a build this nice looking so good and performing so well. I do appreciate the musical reference as well. It was extremely helpful.
This guy is that one friend we all needed when we started driving.
I 'm amazed that 4 JL woofers in less than 40 liters box, nice low, even can hear/fell it on mac...Great job
I never understood why people demand to hear clips. Yup, your $10,000 system sounds as good as my phone.
@@cardboardorigami you a lame
would love to see a Dodge Challenger/ Charger install from beginning to end. you have the best content
as a red seal pipefitter and bass head i approve of your torquing procedure 👍 don't have time to watch any video's this weekend, gotta get on my own beastly box (1.25" thick all around is ridiculous! ) to piece together that you designed for me
Them subs have a lower fs than most shallow mounts due to the heavy large voice coil which also awesome because it'll also handle pleanty of power
Multiple sealed gives a nice sound. Sounds like a good pair of headphones. In terms of squeezing more airspace, would you have done better with an angled forward down fire, so the back of the box can touch the ground? It would have been more complicated to make though.
I've always used that screw pattern when attaching the speaker to the subwoofer.
your attention to detail is insane
finally! very nice man I have learned and applied a lot from your content!
Glad I could help!
Wow.. what a detailed sharp professional system and install. I'm lost for words. Amazing clean sound and your still dialing it in? This was like watching a small master class. Well done.
I started doing the cross pattern on the tightening back in the old days with the stamp steel baskets cuz if you did it all down one side you would distort the basket and could destroy the speaker
Threaded inserts and machine screws is brilliant to prevent wood stripping. I always hated that about that cheap compressed wood.
I would like to see a audio installation on a Freightliner Cascadia semi truck. I currently own one and paid a ton of money only to not have the sound that I was looking for. I am binge watching your videos and ordering all of my tools. Then I will do everything in the order of your instruction to totally rebuild my audio system to my liking. I am such a stickler for the details that I was not completely satisfied with the installation and the sound quality. If I apply pressure to my system I get speakers popping, amplifier shut down and fuses blown. I would like some help from you in planning my upgrades for my trucks system if that is possible. I guess it’s time to get my hands dirty and fix all of my issues. Thanks again Mark, you are an inspiration to all of us music 🎶 heads out here.
I’d love to see you build a custom center console in an older vehicle
This would be an excellent video!
you linked everything but the playlist for this awesome install.
Would love to see you do an older convertible. It’s always difficult to get great bass with the top down.
Mark, fantastic series. Love your design of a matching carpeted top so you can still lift the seats for cargo. 2 questions - 1. do you lose any bass with down-fire mounting versus front mounts? Wondering if 4-8" front mounts would match the 4-10" in effective output?, and 2. Do you apply a gasket material between the sub and the enclosure? It didn't appear so, just curious. Thanks for making me envious - but looking forward to building one of my own with your tools and guidance videos.
6:56 - YAY!!! I'M NOT A COMPLETE WEIRDO!!!!
i got into car audio around '03/'04 and i've only met maybe 5 people other than myself that does ti we mounting drivers. seems like common horse sense to me but so few people do it.
I would have liked to see a video on the tuning of this systems including crossover points and all.
I need this for my f150
Nice video. Great attention to detail. I'd love to see what you would do for a full system in an early bronco. I'm looking for a clean install, that sounds great without the top. Possibly even just a bit head unit that streams pandora. Great video.
Is that enclosure available for purchasing?
Damn... All this effort and money and it doesn't sound any better than my phone speakers... Shame!
All jokes aside, amazing work dude, you're a true professional and it shows how much you love doing this
I would like to see if you can do a video on 3rd gen Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon with an under seat sub enclosure since I haven't fount anyone doing this. It is very limited space but knowing that you have tons of experience in this field, maybe you can consider coming up with a solution for us who own these trucks. Thanks.
Your next project should be my Polaris RZR. I plan to remove the rear seats, build a box with 2 10W7’s. Another storage box on top of that that is set back enough to build an amp rack on the face
For getting ppl on UA-cam closer to the listening experience in the car
A binaural microphone(i hope i got it right)will help with those listening
With all the custom Harley baggers coming out with woofers in the saddlebag lids...getting good sound from a motorcycle would be a great video.
always awesome but super funny that we still try to listen to car audio installs on our laptops on youtube. haha ya might as well not even bother
I been thinking of turning 2 10’s under seat into 2 ohm and change into 4 10’s down to 1 ohm but of course there’s not much out there for f150 in 4 10 under seats so ima have to build. For most part my time is generally worth more so I like to buy. Helpful video!
I have only 1 w3 on my ford f550 sound hard and its amazing subwoofer
I’d really love to see you install a system in an all electric plug in car. I’m looking at buying a EV Chevy Blazer when they come out next year but I’m not sure how to put a system in a EV. Thanks for the great vids!
You prob can’t lol, but a lil of evs seem to have better stock speakers than most gas vehicles
I was looking into this. The Tesla uses a DC to DC converter.
It will have a limited amount of amperage available.
Seems like the solution is either a way more capable DC2DC or a separate battery system in rear to use for sound system.
I would imagine the most efficient setup would be to use the stock system for mid/highs and then whatever solution you choose for your heavy hitting bass needs.
I'd like to see a video on how you address the rear view mirror resonance
I love attaching a car to my vehicle
😄
do you guys do customers? edit: i mean installation etc like this vid
I don't always attach my vehicle. But when I do, it's to a car.
Very appreciated 👍
Happy to help, thanks for being a three year subscriber!
Your an ace of bass …. I saw the sign
I think I missed part of this build. When you removed the trim where the amplifiers and processing equipment was installed, how did you address reinstalling it or did you fab something to cover it before reinstalling the backseat?
Does the car flex any with this setup? I appreciate listening to it, but my phone doesn’t do it any justice 😂, so I would like to see mirrors, windows, and bags moving around if it hits hard enough. I’m in the process of getting my truck done and I want to get the hardest ground shaking bass I can get with that little space
It would be great to see a review, comparison or tips video for powered underseat subwoofers please! Trying to add a bit more bass to my Jimny 😁😁
I'm curious why "high-pass" crossover was used? Setting it at 80hz. Does that protect the subs from REALLY low notes, since the signal coming from the head unit is already crossed over using "low-pass" in the head unit itself?
Put on young jeezy what a track
I'm very surprised to see that you didn't predrill your mounting holes. Is that because the box is not made from MDF?
Love the setup. What would it cost to get something like that done?
8 million dollars
Really like to see an older Toyota truck install and what angle you would take with it.
I also use the star pattern for mounting subs. I would like to see a dual 10" sub, sealed enclosure with an amp rack in a newer model Camaro.
I'd like to see you do the audio for a nice restomod. In the restomod brand & period's style 😊😊
Noted! Thanks for the feedback!
@@CarAudioFabrication : Thank you for the content!
Would love to see a custom box that goes behind that f150 seat instead of underneath. Maintain "stock' space.
i think a cool video would be a center console with these same four subs to push the bass more forward in a regular cab 2000 f-150 lightning , what do you think?
I would love to see a build on a classic pickup. 60 - 70’s would be fab.
A ported box for a 01 Dakota extended cab under the seat
I totally understand the sound issues with watching videos but visually i would like to see mirrors shake at least
Do a 2022 silverado extended cab build
Single 12 rear loading horn😁
I would love to see a box for two 8”w3s on a 07-13 extended cab Silverado, heck maybe even four or three
Very nice, overall install. Great videos as usual.
Please show us what you end up doing with the rearview mirror!
It'd be cool to see what you can do with an old NA/NB Miata. I have one and have tried several variations of installs to find the best sound for my liking with not a lot of luck. I'd be interested to see what you do in an old convertible.
I would love yo see a 2016 extended extra cab 4 door under seat jl audio shallow mount 10 or 12 box
Please consider looking into doing a Marine grade stereo on a boat that has sleeping quarters :) 🔊🔊🔊🔊
I want a system like that
Have you ever built one of these boxes for the 2nd or 3rd row seating in a Yukon/Tahoe? I'm in the market for a Yukon and plan to get a system installed, but I don't want a huge box taking up the rear space. This would seem like the best option, but the pickup and Yukon/Tahoe are different in regard to acoustics. Not sure how much of an impact that would have on the install. Long-time subscriber. Love the content.
Not sure you could because of how they may fold or stow away
Plz make a video, sub speaker add on 2023 RAV4 hybrid.
I also have a 2020 f150 and wouldn’t mind upgrading the sound system in your opinion would a single sub similar to the 10’s in this video or even a shallow mount sub 8” work behind the driver side rear seat as more of a stealth install or as a means to not give up any floor space?
Much appreciated man, that’s some serious jam in the back of that Ford. Can it handle it??¿?? Lol… So how did you attach to the brackets is my question? Did you pre-position bolts from inside and bolt to the seat frames? Thanks!
I would love to see a 2016 F250 sub setup. I've searched and searched, nobody has done one.
i would love to see a max effort box build for under and behind the seat of a 2006 Silverado 2500HD this application is such a headache
I love being a nerd I use hand tools way more than I probably should lol
Do a Ram 2500 build!!!! I will volunteer my truck!!!! 🤔🤗
Mark: "What project to do next?"
Me: "How about my car?"
Hey mark!
I have an electric scooter that runs on a removable lithium battery… is there anyway I could wire up a 6.5 speaker to my rear seat using a small Bluetooth amplifier.
I need a enclosure built
do a 2011 Honda Ridgeline full build with four 10's under the the rear seat.
I also tighten my screws by hand in a lug nut style! #NerdGang
I'd like to see an adventure van build, preferably a Sprinter. I know a guy with such a van if you need a demonstration vehicle. 😉
Please share what speaker wires you use. A video about the wiring would be awesome.
Nice Vid !
Thanks! Appreciate you being a subscriber for two years now!
@@CarAudioFabrication yes Mack ! Thank You !
Can you build something like this for my 07 f150 cre cab?
I need that box for my 2022f150
The rearview mirror resonance point was interesting. Does that cause an audible sound (considering the volume of the music playing) or is it mostly a visual thing? Would you mind going into more detail on how to dampen it?
Also, quality box!
That box was ridiculously small for 4 tens! I'm sure you meant they are LOW passed at 80 HZ, not high passed. I wonder what type of filter and slope they are crossed over at and what else is in there equipment wise.
Help needed.. im planing on custom fiberglass sub box.. in corner of my trunk.need it small sealed and now i cant decide about subwoofer 2 6.5 or 1 6.5 or 1 8 or 1 10inch im choosing between digital desings 506 508 and 608 or alpine type r 10inch
How much would this exact setup cost if I made the box myself?
I videos are great! I've got an 87 suburban with the factory spare tire that's mounted verticaly on the driver's side of the cargo area and I'd love to see a subwoofer box build to go in place of the spare tire.
its kind of annoying to build, but very doable, theres even prebuilt woofers that fit in there.
Where can I get this subwoofer and box and amp set up at for F150
wonder if you could do a seat raise by 3" or so and get 4 kicker 10s L7T or 12s facing forward facing, would be 600 rms per sub, plus 20% more cone surface area vs original circular subs. wonder if this setup would be the perfect under the seat system!
Can we see a full system install and wiring diagram of a 2 12 in sub with a 2 6,5 and tweeter for both front left and right and a set of 6.5s for the rear doors and a 2 sub box ported in the trunk powered by 2 amps one for the four channels of speakers and 4 6x9s and 2 tweeters and a monoblock for the 2 subs with the box design of the 6x9s and super tweeters and the sub woofer box for a vehicle similar to the Suzuki ertiga GA model
Will this enclosure work with the 2.0kW pro power equipped trucks?
If you could...sound demo on the T-line build and what application are you going to use it for.
9:54 I've waited a long time for this question ! The answer - Make a 8.5 cubic ft. SEALED box for the very very simple and cheap 12 inch subwoofer - "Pioneer TS-A300D4". That's because it will acheive QTC of 0.707. Wonder if such box is possible to build ?
That is a extremely oversized box for any 12 inch subwoofer, especially that one.
(PLEASE CONSIDER) That definitely sounds good 👍 I would like to see you build a custom console for a 5th gen bronco. Haven't seen much if any for this rig. I'd like to be able to di it to my 1996. I have a single 10 and I use the console quite a bit possible from the dash to just lined up to the rear of front seats. The entire back of the suv is going to be used up and no space for my sub.
