- These soft and chewy red velvet cookies have a luscious cream cheese frosting inside and a drizzle of white chocolate on top. I love the play of flavors and the cookies themselves are just plain delicious. They might be the perfect treat for Valentine's day, Christmas, or any day ending in "Y"!

I understand that you all know the history of Red Velvet Cake but it may be worth repeating: it was a chocolate cake from the 1800:s and the cacao reacted with the vinegar used for levelling and gave the batter a reddish hue; hence the name. Because it got popular. Love y’all 💕🌟💜

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup unsalted butter 226g
▢1 cup granulated sugar 200g
▢1 egg
▢2 tsp vanilla extract 10mL
▢2 cups all-purpose flour 240g
▢¼ cup cocoa powder 25g
▢½ tsp baking soda
▢½ tsp baking powder
▢¼ tsp kosher salt
▢1 Tbsp hot brewed coffee 15mL
▢1 Tbsp liquid red food coloring 15mL
▢3/4 cup chopped semisweet chocolate chips 130g
▢12 ounces cream cheese softened, 340g
▢1 cup powdered sugar sifted, 100g
▢2 Tbsp milk or heavy cream 30mL
▢1 cup white chocolate chips 150g

I've been a home baker for a hundred years. John bakes all the things I like to bake. When I'm not doing it myself I like watching him do it.
It's pretty amazing that he's not even technically a professional baker! He's just extremely good at his hobby so he turned it into a job.

Hi there! This is for those who wonder if this recipe can be made by us simple mortals who have little to no baking experience (excuse my English since it’s not my first language). I made these cookies 4 days ago and they were AMAZING. They’re so incredibly soft on the inside, like a little cake, but they’re not so soft that they’ll fall apart or anything like that. It’s like the perfect balance. The cheesecake filling goes insanely well with these, although I did make it with regular white sugar since I didn’t have powder sugar. It still turned out delicious. I LOOOOOOVE THIS CHANNEL. His recipes are so easy to follow. I also made his pastry cream recipe and it turned out great as well. Keep it up! 🤩
