it's almost like that's what comedy is.
It's all about building that tension. I used to do standup(wasn't too bad, but not great, I have an old video on my page if you wanna check it out)and have tons of respect for Anthony. He's an amazing writer. Most comedians pull from life experience(myself included.) You don't see many pure joke writers like Anthony these days, and his delivery/timing are incredibly precise.

Guys, Mr Jeslnik is talking about making comments and political views. As well as the way peoppe overreact when you drop a small thought (maybe Tweets) on social media. He had just previously spoken about the political climate, and was actually continuing his commentary on that using symbolism/metaphor.

Idk if it's just me but I feel like Anthony is hella underrated. I don't feel like he's talked about enough for how damn good he is. I mean in this joke he purposefully digs himself into a hole with the set-up, just to win everyone back with the baby line. You can feel the tension in the room right before his punchline, which in itself sets up the rest of the jokes. It's just brilliant and ballsy and he's always tip toeing those two lines. He's a top of the line "word artist" lol.

Masterful delivery of his stage character, audience awareness and timing it is just top shelf skills. You can see him making sure he keeps them “disturbingly hooked” though out the joke.
The way he builds tension in the room and completely dissolves it with one line is incredible

This got dark-- he lulled the audience into complacency, so they were complicit in the guilt when his actions increasingly grew more psychotic. A very well-crafted, sick joke. It's as if he said, "Oh, you think there are some things too awful to laugh at? Really? Let me tell you about my predilection for dropping babies, deliberately."

Of Plagues Daniel Tosh is better at it, IMO. Jeselnik *can* be funny sometimes. This wasn't one of those times.

Of Plagues that is an extremely narrow view of comedy, plenty of comedians have been funny without being horribly offensive. Being offensive is the easiest and cheapest type of comedy. People have been brainwashed into believing offensive = comedy. Jeselnik is little more than a tool for the ruling class who constantly try to degrade us.
