So you're thinking about LASIK surgery, eh?

I had very healthy eyes, but just very near sighted. After going blind for several months after lasik, I now have permanent damage to my corneas that significantly affect my vision (I can no longer drive) and I am no longer able to produce tears. I never had an issue with depression or anxiety, but since going blind due to post-lasik complications, I now suffer from PTSD. I will often have panic attacks with the thought of leaving the house for fear of something happening to my eyes, causing blindness again.
Lasik surgeons are nothing more than used car salesmen. Please, don't do lasik!!
Very sorry to hear that. 😢
I heared a case same like yours and she also suggested to go with the natural remedy....
Over 20 laser eye surgery-related suicides reported and many more suspected. Countless more are suicidal, blind, visually disabled, or in incapacitating pain. Tens of thousands in the U.S. alone with post-LASIK corneal ectasia. LASIK surgeons hope the public never finds out. They tout high short-term "satisfaction" to fool the public and the media. They have abandoned the Hippocratic oath to DO NO HARM.
xSphizex you’re so defensive, If LASIK worked well for you then why are you watching vision improvement videos?
xSphizex It’s true some people were left in debilitating pain forever , they cut their nerves when doing the procedure. They go into depression cause life is not the same afterwards. 😢
I was scheduled to do Lasik this week. I cancelled less than an hour before the procedure and I could not be more thankful and happy that I did.
Thank you to everyone that has shared their bad experiences with Lasik. I know the doctors don’t hear you but we do. Your stories are saving people.
The day prior to surgery they dilated my eyes for the examination. They didn’t tell me they were extra powerful drops (named Cycloplegic) and 2 others dilating drops plus a numbing one. When I asked they said the drops would wear off that night. They didn’t. I had dilated pupils for 55hrs, and no I don’t have light eyes... mine are brown.
If they don’t even tell me that could happen, what else weren’t they telling me..?
Canceling was the best decision I could have made. Please listen to all these stories. Wearing glasses/contacts is better than a lifetime of pain and dry eyes.
Oh my goodness. So glad you managed to escape the procedure. Count your blessings. Best wishes on your journey back to NATURAL 20/20 vision with EndMyopia!!!
wise decision. Jake Steiner, Nathan Oxenfeld, and Mark Warren offer much better ways to improve your vision naturally.
I went in to get the “free” exam to see if I’m a candidate for lasik. As I was sitting in the waiting room, I had a strong urge to leave. I kept saying to myself, “Just go. Leave now.”
I stayed, had the exam and got “approved” for the procedure.
They took me into a woman’s office to schedule it, and she had a whole sales monologue she gave me and then I knew there was no way I was going to do this. If they have a sales person talking to me, their interests are in money, not informed consent.

Right?! I always had dry eyes, can't believe I myself almost went for LASIK. Scary thought.

@@endmyopia So glad i found ur channel
That is insane!! Literally permanently locks your eye into a lengthened state which comes with side effects of retinal detachment, etc..Of course they love it because that is more surgeries they can perform. Jake..I feel like Ive been a sheep this whole time. But wise enough to know something wasnt right. My brother got Lasik but I always have been suspect of it. Glad to see I am right and that I still have the chance to make a similar transformation to you. Gods work...you are so appreciated and admired!!
Thanks! Years ago I almost fell into the LASIK trap too. Insane what we're taught to trust today.
And thousands are glad today, more glad than you maybe, that you didn't get a surgery done! Stay blessed! :)
Unfortunately, it's like that and retinal detachment is not so rare post-refractives as well. I was about to cancel it, but family encouraged me to finally proceed. Sadly, i had to insist more in my instict, but now is over.
Good surgeons say that the best operation is the operation which has not been done. Any surgical operation is a dangerous thing. I am so happy that I didn't even have money for it though the optometrist used to tell me that by doing lasik my eyes would at least not get worse! I really kinda felt that there is a solution to myopia but I just couldn't find it until now. Thank you Jake !
I was so close to getting Lasik done on my eyes but i held off, thank God I found this video
I was even closer than you to having Lasik done !! I was even in their surgery having my eyes prepped for the op. They did their IDESIGN examination first and in their words found an anomaly with my corneas which was another way of describing my Astigmatism (which often accompanies myopia ) and so canceled the op. God saved me that day , and so did my astigmatism ! Yes, First time in history an eye problem has been a positive.! Anyway , from that day I'm back on the NATURAL eye restoration.
Did it go well? :D
@@mirac8803 Yes, my eyes are so much better and continue to improve through daily natural vision improvement. So glad I didn't have the surgery, there is no substitute for natural normal vision.
@@joescipio6706 Would you mind sharing what you have been doing specifically?
Why can’t god give us normal vision?
Thank you! you saved me from considering LASIK.
I agree, I nearly did lasik. I improved my eyesight naturally. I don't wear glasses full time anymore.
That's amazing!!
How have you improved your eye sight?
+JyotirmayaMishra Even I have improved my eyesight with the help of Jake's site. I reduced half dipoters from both eyes but it took me 4-5 months. I had mild (it still is mild but...) mypoia, and now I manage without specs @-1 (down from -1.5!) If you want to improve your vision, then visit the site and subscribe for the 7 day guide (free) and the last mail gives you the answer :) I did a DIY approach and it's way easier than it seems :)
A few things to keep in mind:
1) Reduce the power of your glasses so that your eyes have a blur-challenge (described awesomely in the site)
2) Active focus -- means that you are CONSCIOUSLY controlling your cilliary muscles/ the muscles controling your lenses. You might think it's not possible (silly insert-- *when one can even control their dreams!*) but all it needs is practice! (it took me one month to get the hang of it)
3) Never, NEVER squint. Experience taught me that it leads to double vision.
4) If you can manage without specs for near work... DON'T WEAR THEM. Please.
5) Keep a minimum of 25 centimeters distance from the object.
That's how I improved my site. I hope it helps you too!
Good day!
Anonymous Hey I know this is a year old comment but do you really think I can improve my eyes with that ?

I'm so happy I've discovered your channel!
I am soooo grateful that I didn't do it as well. I was considering it but something inside me didn't agree with it. Didn't want the surgery.
I actually had hope that one day I will be free of glasses without lasik. I didn't know how. But I repeated it enough to myself until I believed it. Then one day, morning, in my bed, when I was about to reach for my glasses, I hesitantly, fearing that what if I'm wrong and It's incurable, typed on google : "myopia miraculously cured" and pressed "go".
And BAAAAMMMMM.
I love my life. I love you all.
Thank you thank you thank you
I appreciate you and everyone else who is trying to spread this knowledge.
Seems only fair that I'd show up anytime you type "miraculously" -anything into Google.
YES you are a miracle :) Thank you for being there
My consultant also told me no one goes blind from Lasik (in the U.S.) well I’ve watched at least 2 people on UA-cam pop out one eye (prosthetic) because Lasik left them unable to see out of it and also in pain.
Jake you are so right man, i want to thank you for being so honest. I know a few people who had lasik surgery a few years later their myopia have progressed again. I wanted to get done it too like 10 years ago but i changed my decision even i had canceled surgery appointment. I thought that why my doctor is wearing glasses instead of having a surgery, if she doesnt get it down that must be not a good thing have lots of side effects.

One week ago I was watching and reading stuff about Lasik and PRK and now I've found you, and you uploaded a video about dangers of having Lasik surgery. :) Interesting.
Good timing. ;)
This was the first Jake Steiner video I’ve ever seen and it was right after I had scheduled an appointment for lasik in the following month. Thanks to this video, and the comments section about everyone having horror stories, I cancelled my appointment the next day. Now thanks to Jake, EndMyopia and all of the techniques used my eye is correcting itself naturally! This is amazing stuff!
How is it going for you?
My vision prescription has been cut almost in half so far, (started at -4.75 now sitting at -2.75) but now I’ve seemed to be running into some major stagnation, where it’s not progressing nearly as fast anymore. From what I understand it’s a natural that happens though
@@aliensxist Thank you got your response!
I am dealing with astigmatism and glare from lights at night. I got like minus 3.75 left and 4.75 right (this was a lazy eye and vision with that eye is only 30%) and having a cilinder of 2.
I am on the verge of applying for prk laser surgery as the light glares at night are getting so terrible...
I’ve heard PRK is the way to go if you’re going to do the eye surgery route! Hope it all goes well for you if you do it!
This is an AMAZING video, very amazingly explained. Thank you Jake.

The active focus, should I read it from a screen WITH or WITHOUT glasses? Should I put my glasses further and further?
thank you Jake, you saved my eyes
I wish I had seen this video sooner. I underwent Lasik and now have dry eye complicationss
try ingesting ground flax seed daily
All of the Pro lasik comments are sketchy, why are they watching vision improvement videos in the first place?
What about ICL? The cornea is untouched and dry eye unlikely. Relex is also mostly untouched
i have a consultation in 2 weeks. after thinking about it alot i have decided i wont attend it. i will leave my eyes just the way they are. it just isnt worth the risk and im perfectly happy with wearing glasses anyway. contacts also take less than a minute to put on and daily lenses can simply be discarded after use.
For how long should I do active focus everyday? Should I move back and forth to read the text? Is that all I do for eyesight improvement?
Make it natural, organic. Challenge your eyes sometimes, when you think of it. Make it part of the routines and habits, so it's more just part of life than some sort of "exercise" (which would be hard to stick to).
I had Lasik 22 years ago. My vision has been perfect and has only started deteriorating in the last 6 months because of age I guess. But yes, eyes have been dry lately.
Depending on what you mean by “deteriorating,” most likely not due to age but to habits.

Krikes, scary stuff. I think that considering any eye surgery that is not essential is bordering on madness.
So what is myopia ...I always thought it was an issue of the muscles in the eye , but then read it was an issue of the cornea that I was just born with misshapen eyes....
Thank God I didn't get lasik. I went for the test and they said my cornea was too thin and I was therefore not a candidate.
what do you mean by exercises? Do you mean staring at far distanced objects and stuff?
how do you fix your eyesight yourself?
Hey there! thank you so much for taking your time to make this video brother. may i just ask you if lasik and PRK are the same? could it be possible to do anything for my eyes or i should just suck it up and accept the fact that i will forever wear glasses and change them every 2-3 years? i do NOT wear contacts due to infections etc i am anxious about even the idea of wearing lenses but man as an athelete wearing sport goggles is really not going well for me also i wanna work in miltary but because of glasses my options are very limited..thanks for your reply in advance.
Hi Jake unfortunately it seems like I came across your site 10 years too late. I had PRK done for -7 so I could be employable for a job with a vision requirement. So at that point in my life it was all or nothing and to get the life I wanted without glasses I did whatever it took. I will say I was able to enjoy a decade of seemingly myopia free vision. Unfortunately its now 12 years later and I have a job where I sit in a dark office for almost 12 hours. For a few months now I noticed my eyes have been "lazy" larely, double images sometimes, colours appear faded etc. Went to the eye doctor who said I'm about 20/25 one eye and 20/30 the other. So -1 or 1.something. Wondering if getting back to 20/20 even with this "permanent lens" is likely and if you know any success stories with my kinda situation.
+Mister19Eleven Yup. Probably some plus lens use for closeup too.
Thanks for the reply Jake that's good to hear. Maybe I missed something but did you not have a video discouraging plus lens therapy use or is that something totally different? Thanks again!
Plus lens therapy, yes - because it's all about focal planes, not about any particular kind of lens as a "therapy" approach. In your case, very low recurring myopia, plus will help give you a blur horizon, active focus challenge, all the good stuff.
Hey, I'm a real fan of your channel and it frustrates me when I talk about visual improvement to other people they refuse to listen and blame genetics. I have lowered my prescription from -2.50 to -1.50 within 9 months thanks to a combination of active focus and eye exercises, I know you say they don't work but I enjoy them and believe they improve ciliary muscle flexibility.Anyway, my question being...does being a child or teenager, me, mean that visual improvement is faster than adults since we are still growing? Thanks in advance.
The rate of improvement is pretty much the same across all age groups. ;) Thanks for the kind words, too!
Thanks Jake :)

Active focus while performing convergence and divergence exercises is about the only eye ex. I have found useful...
I went from 20/400 in one eye to 20/25

I don't think so.
When i was young i was determined my optician increased my prescription everytime i saw him. Can you tell us how to naturally fix our eye balls from eclipse to round which you mentioned.
Pour Water in your eyes every ten minutes and do active focus
I had LASIK about 9 months ago. I understand what you are saying, but I have had nothing but a positive experience thus far. I wish I had done it earlier. I have had only a slight drying of my 1 eye I had the surgery on, but it is not even enough that makes me put eye drops in. Of course, I have no idea about any future problems that might arrive, but I keep a very positive outlook that I will not have any problems. Interesting to see what you have to say about it, though.
I wouldn’t even watch negative LASIK videos. No point adding ideas to make you worry. If all’s well, then awesome! Maybe better close up habits to prevent more myopia down the road, if anything. 😉
@@endmyopia Yeah, I think you are right and I appreciate your bringing that to my attention. It was the first negative one I have watched prior to getting it done. I had researched correcting it by exercises or something like that, but never took the time to dedicate myself to it. I believe it can work for some if you are dedicated. That's half the battle of anything.
@@endmyopia Can you expound on "close up habits"? I'm definitely interested if it can help prevent any issues since I have already had LASIK. Also, my untreated eye is getting slightly worse for reading vision. Any exercise that would be beneficial? Thanks

I watched the whole video!!! I knew it...I had a feeling...thank you. I know someone who had so-called Zoom Technology so one eye is altered to see things close up and the other eye to see best in the distance. Seems weird to me!
I've never heard the term, however, I had LASIK only on one eye. I had figured out that wearing one contact for distance worked years for me. Then my ophthalmologist said that there was a way some peoples brain could adjust automatically and use one eye for close vision and the other for distance. I asked her about how that would work for LASIK and she said it would probably work for me since I had adjusted to that with contacts. And it would be cheaper and safer only risking one eye. It took me years to make the decision but after lots of research, I decided to have LASIK and it has been a blessing for me. At this point in my life at least, I sure don't regret it. Only positive thoughts!

I had Lasik on October 2018, which was almost 5 years ago. I'm doing great. My contacts were getting my eyes dry and glasses gave me headaches. I had been using glasses since I was 14 and I'm now 49yrs old. Had I continued using contacts, my eyes would get infected. I hated putting things on my eyes and the glasses were just getting thicker and thicker. So, this video is totally a waste. Downside? Yes, your eyes do get dryer, but it depends where you live and you have to chance your diet. The surgery really helped me notice how I have to change my diet. I don't see hallows as bad at night like I did before the surgery. Before the surgery, I had a hard time driving at night, even with glasses. Now, it's much better. I use sunglasses during the day. since my eyes are more sensitive to the light, but that's actually a good thing, from my experience.
That's awesome. Thing is, a single experience isn't relevant for risk assessment of the procedure. The FDA stats page though is, which shows pretty alarming levels of side effect potential. Glad you didn't get any of them!
@@endmyopia no and everyone I know that got lasik are also doing well and they got it before I did. So, far I know only 3 other people beside me that got it. A cousin and 2 ex-coworkers. They recommended it to me. I think your videos are assessing the minority, with all due respect.
@@vidarebornlonewolf I guess you haven't seen what Dr. Morris Waxler, former Head of FDA Surgical Devices (he got LASIK approved), says about it.
@endmyopia I haven't but, my point is, you are missing the vast majority of the population who already got lasik and is doing great. Didn't you say that your mom got it back in the 90s and is doing great? Without lasik, I was legally blind, the contacts irritated my eyes after only 2-4 hours wearing them, and the back of my eyes were starting to hurt. The vast majority of doctors are wrong, instead of listening to the people. I am part of those people and if you decide to ignore my opinion, you are completely clueless about those of us who mostly have benefitted from it.
@@vidarebornlonewolf I understand iit could be scary to consider the risks of an irreversible procedure you already had done. I dont have side effect after a year and I'm almost 20/20 after the surgery.
Here is the list of side effect after surgery.
1st weekhell burning sensation due to laser and reshaping of eyes.
3rd week blurry vision
1 month you can see halo around the people.
3 months still a bit blurry and halo and sometime it hurts.
6 months 20/20 vision and sometimes it hurts
1 year after surgery it settles to near 20/20 vision.
Also about 2years you will have problem in watching movie I cinema because you will have to see halo and a bit blurry.
Thats all my side effects that I manage to conquer.
After the surgery the doctor told me to use the water form eye drop to reduce the pain, but the side effects is it will make the healing to long than the usual normal healing ( I need to see my gf as fast as possible without sun glasses so didn't take any eye drop and I endure the hell pain for 3 months.
After that eye have wonderful life.
I forgot to mention that before the surgery I wear glasses thicker than the windshield of your car and I have astigmatism and after that I change my eye glasses to contact lense which is also hell for me.
Right now while I was typing this story I still have almost 20/20 vision and almost 5 years now after the combination of prk and epi lasik
I also practice the focus thing to improve my eyesight more
I have been over 6 years after lasik and my vision is still excellent. Not 20/20 (never got to 20/20 after surgery) but my sight is well enough that I can read something on a board from across the room, and people's faces are no longer blurry.
Some people get lucky
I would never take that fucking Chance with my precious eyesight

I especially need to have 20/20 because i am joining the Marine Corps and there is a job i would like to eventually do but it requires 20/20 no glasses, which as you know i am far from. What videos of yours specifically should i watch to begin getting better? I also have an eye test within a couple of weeks so ill probably bring up things youve said about only using a prescription that allows you to see only how far you need to see.. thanks for these videos
Almost all the complications except those regarding flap. But i suspect higher chance of infection.
not fascinating, no it is fascinating
I was going to have laser eye surgery I had a consultation in one of the best eye clinics in London, but I was surprised by the lack of long term data they could give on the tail end risks... The surgeon even said ... Statistics don't really matter, every eye is different, you have to treat it case by case when I asked him for long term studies and that I have a statistical /actuarial background so I like to know the downside risks. .... He almost laughed at me. I found it quite offensive and his tone was very condescending. Well in hindsight I am so glad that this was his reaction because I thought it was weird and that I should definitely do my own research. I've found such a vast amount, I joined LASIK complications on Facebook and lots of really sad stories. I also think even if you are in the lucky few who don't have problems in the short term it seems that the risk of problems down the line is increased. .... Early onset Cataract, gluacoma, etc.
I like my glasses in hindsight and will treat myself to s new pair with reduced prescription :)
You can't have long term data as this is a fast-moving technology to keep it simple. By the time you get some research data in, there are already advances that solved some issues of the previous tech. It just keeps getting better. Sure if you can do the exercises or whatever you believe will work if you can be dedicated enough to see good results, then don't have LASIK. But for me, LASIK has worked.
lasik is just cut something from your eyeball to make it clear
3:25 chance of side effects are pretty high. Tell me how high is it XD
Look it up yourself.
I think a dodged a bullet
Relex smile was the worst decision of my life.
:/
I'm 13 years old and i have -5 to my right eye and -5.50 to my left eye. What can I do?
art in real life do lasik trust me if u cant now do it once ur 18
I had lasik. Blade version. Last month. I'm fine. Eyes get dry sometimes. Artificial tears and you're good. Relax.
Exactly. Keep those artificial tears handy and it's all good!
It’s better to keep those artificial handy than wearing uncomfortable glasses.
@@cesardanielolivas327
It's still indipendent from an artificial thing
I wont be getting lasik when eye doctors and their staff themselves won’t get it. I will if 100% eye doctors do it. They all give unconvincing reasons to not getting lasik
This guy gets it.
Hi Jack! How much do you earn on the ednofmyopia? How much in % 100% Why only you is doing this no medical proof ? If your method worked, it would sell.
Endmyopia has a lot of bills, you'd be surprised. Breaking even is all I need out of it. :) Methods works but I give it away for free so ... 🤷🏼♂️
U looked quite diff 6 years ago😂😂
The Internet is slowly killing me.
I’m glad I didn’t let your video stop me from getting LASIK done. I had terribly dry eyes. Everytime I put contacts on, it was just worse and hurt by the end of the day because, they absorb your eyes moisture. One day after I got LASIK done my eyes see everything clearly immediately. Yes, i have little problem with dryness. Then the next morning I don’t even need eye drops. If you study how laser really do for your skin or your cornea. You wouldn’t be hesitant to get it done. Almost every tissue of our body heals itself. Yes, there is no guaranteed that my eyes prescription will be stabilized. It depends on many factors. LASIK or any surgeries do not change your eye balls’ shapes. I did a lot of research before I decided to get it done and your video isn’t helpful at all. Bottom line, every surgery has pros and cons. Nothing is perfect but experienced practitioner can greatly reduce risks for adverse side effect.
Sounds like a LASIK ad. But hey if it’s not and it worked out for you, awesome! 👍🏻
Majority of people affected by lasik experience permanent & serious complications years or decades after the surgery (myself included). So I really hope you don’t have any eye problems in the future. I understand you had dry eyes from contacts, but what about using regular glasses? You are right, every surgery has pros and cons, just remember LASIK is NOT a medically necessary procedure.
Thank you for saying that.
It's all a MIND GAME.
If you take a decision and stand by it, fully convinced, then that decision will work for you NO MATTER WHAT.
The success stories of Lasik are made by strong-minded, determined people.
The success stories posted here re also posted by strong-minded determined individuals.
That's really just wishful thinking.
Don't get LASIK, get PRK surgery instead which is safer, eyeglasses make your myopia to grow, contacts are better because they can stop myopia from growing and give you a better vision and some freedom, but they can become cumbersome to wear over time and you always have a potencial infection issue, I had PRK surgery and cannot be happier :-), no dry eyes, eye drops are temporary during the healing period
I had LASIK 2 weeks ago. I went from -8.50 to -1. Even if my vision gets worse with age (which is something my doctor made abundantly clear to me) it's like resetting the clock to me. I've needed glasses for 20 years (I'm 27!) and it's been a miracle for me. My vision isn't perfect, but it's a million times better. Also saying that lasik increases risk for retinal detachment is misleading because people with poor vision are already at an increased risk of retinal detachment. So the risk being the same and the your vision and quality of life being improved are so worth it to me.
Had lasik when i was 21, had perfect vision since, no dry eyes and i smoke everyday. Also dont need eyedrops. This guy is so biased. LASIK Made my life 100% better.
Well then don’t watch this video. Or look up Morris Waxler. 🤔😉
He is still right you just lucky go watch an eye doctor that was fully professional when comparison between lasik and prk . And lasik potential drawbacks are beyond absurd . Athelets dont do it btw because stuff that normal person would shake off without problem are gambling with your sight and that is not a theory or "probably " it is 100% truth
3 years later and still no problems…have gotten hit in the eye..alcohol spilled in eye…no issues whatsoever and my vision is still perfect
Lasik is the best thing I’ve ever done! No regrets there.
I'd not watch / research anything negative about LASIK, then. Just enjoy the results you got!
Jake Steiner it was in my recommended, i actually saw every possible negative aspect of it but i still proceeded. I’m very grateful for my results because there have been some unlucky people..
@@endmyopia That is so true.
Lol this guy is a quack.
If it quacks like a duck ...... 🦆
