I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

outdoor time relaxes ciliary muscle
dont wear full prescription when in close work
for outside vision take off -0.25 from your full distance prescription

Jake, I can't tell you how much i appreciate you! Thanks for the amazing information! I've been following your method for a year and have healed my eyes by .75 Diopters. Crazy! So thank you!
Much appreciate the kind words, Tyler! Great progress too, make sure to keep up those habits for the next 0.75 diopter. ;)
@Ayy lmao read the blog mate
@Ayy lmao how's your eyesight now
I've watched most of your videos, and this is one of the best in my mind. Very clear and easy to understand. Something I can share with someone who never knew about this and they will understand.
Visuals of this, either simple drawings or animations, etc, would really take it to a broader audience.
Thanks, Mr. L! :) Agreed on animation, getting proposals on doing some work for this video.
I appreciated this explanation. It was clear and sensible with less distracting animation and angst
Thank you
Brother you have done incredible work on eye sight, appreciate it man.everyone in near future will come to your channel for everything related to eyes
Two weeks ago I read your posts on Quora, from then I stopped using the -1.75 glasses on my computer. Today I noticed an improvement in my distance image quality (I take breaks and look at the window at a building 1 km away).
Thank you!
Bam! And it's really pretty simple. Thanks for taking the time time comment!
You're making the information more and more clear and direct for those wanting the 'quick fix'..
Thank you for everything you do Jake.
Yea seems like I need to say it a hundred times in various ways, to find the best way to explain it all.
Yes, points do need to be made in many ways and often repeatedly.
We all learn differently, and a good teacher will realise this, be patient, accommodating, and innovative in order to get the point across.
Thank you for your time and care. We're all learning!
Hi Jake. I'm closely watching all your videos. I started improving my habits like you said. You are a genius to me. I'm seeing good results as well. Will update soon
Jake, thank you very much for such a great video. I have been following for about two weeks and have learned a lot. Great progress so far. I am also sharing your Links so others can benefit too. I have changed my habits and I am very happy about it. I am no longer dependent on glasses, thank God. I also finished the seven day free course. What a blessing! Thank to you too Jake for being a blessing to all of us.
How's it going
This video is pure GOLD. Really.
Thanks so much Jake. I was a skeptic, but all this made so much sense and I had so little to lose with my new prescription of -6.50 OS -6.25 OD (plus floaters and lattice degeneration in a 21 year-old and a nice overprescription, as I discovered later) that I had to try. 6 months after this, I think I already reached 20/20 with my first normalized (-5.75 OS -5.50 OD). It is empowering, exciting and infuriating all at the same time.
Again, thank you thank you thank you. Please keep the awesomeness up!
P.S. I'm one of those little freaky kittehs who shamelessly enjoy full-on hardcore science, so please keep that shiz up too, if you like. Which I know you do -nudgenudgewinkwink-
Hey just wondering if endmyopia helped with or cured your floaters? Thanks
True. Once I’ve stopped using glasses (I have lower than 1.5 diopters) and took time outdoors and focus on distant objects I swear that in a between a month or two (don’t remember when I started active focus) I’ve dropped .25 diopters ❤
I really hope that you don't quit end myopia
Why would he quit?
on one of his videos he mentioned how he might quit end myopia
No worries, I'm still here!
nikuliit which video?
Loved this one as it was simply illustrative and very inspiring. My optometrist is still convinced elongated eyes cannot be reversed and I'm determined to prove him wrong. =)
Yes, more than a few optometrists know shockingly little about vision science. Axial change goes both ways: endmyopia.org/eyes-in-various-species-can-shorten-to-compensate-for-myopic-defocus/
I have watched a lot of your videos, but this one is the best in my mind as it very easy to understand. I really appreciate the work that You are doing to create awareness amongst people. Thanks!
Can't understand how the hell this video doesnt have 10 millions views
Because I make terrible videos with my terrible face in them. (really though, thanks for the kind words, Matias)
Thank you for sharing this post. This is a really wonderful summary of so much of the information that I have found on your posts condensed into one poignant video. in fact this has been part of the inspiration that has moved me to take a few months away from a lifestyle indoors in front of a screen and has gotten me to the seat from which I am writing where I have a view of at least five hundred meters out into Treetops clouds and the roofs of many buildings. I am now wearing a right of - 3 and a left of -2.75 down from a right of -4.25 and a left at -4. I have already gotten through one pair of reduced prescription glasses for outdoor distance. There is just enough stimulus with these second pair of new lenses to challenge my eyes when I am sitting here looking far away. there are slight variations when I look far away with these new lenses and sometimes I am able to have excellent Clarity of each roof tile and the leaves drifting in the breeze well there are other times that there is some slight blur. As you have noted the lighting conditions are extremely important and when dusk comes along it is much more challenging to find Clarity at a distance with this new prescription. However I remember the same feeling when I got my first new pair of reduced prescription glasses and after 1 and a half months or so they became adequate for night time use. I can't wait to see how this journey continues into the future and I am so grateful for all of your posts. I would love to hear some more information about techniques or ideas to help even out the prescription between two eyes that currently have different diopter requirements.
+Steven Kraft Thanks for the kind words. Nice progress, too! ;)
This is one of the best explanations on this channel. 👍🏼👍🏼
this daily blog was the best
Any effect?
hello Jake thank you so much for your work here on youtube, your videos help me when I lost motivation with active focus and do the good work :) again huge thank you Holy Eyes Guruuuuuuu
“The eye is a brilliant, amazing design...”
Watch out! The darwinians will lose their minds over that!
Just joking around - your material is fantastic. I’ve already gone from -.75 to -.25 in my left eye. No changes in right yet but I’m confident I’ll get there.
What eye exercises did you do to get the vision better?
I would love to start a journey to improve my eyesight naturally so I can able to see better especially spending more time on outdoors
Go for it!
How's it going :-)
Thanks for all these videos! I've learned a lot from these research studies and I've made more time for the outdoors.
Thank you Jake for this info...i really want to effect a change in my eyesight and i will apply what you taught us
Did you reduce your spectacle power?? Pls reply :-)
@@paramjeetthakkar7088 yes i did
@@Stavrosg76 how much Dioptres did u reduce? Pls reply :-)
@@paramjeetthakkar7088 ive started this 9 months ago, ive reduced my distance glasses by 0.75 both eyes. And differentials by 1.75 both eyes so far but not at once. Currently i feel my eyes more relaxed and i can drive and do all the activities i want, however i havent checked my eyes for improvement yet..
@@Stavrosg76 how's it going?
Very clear explanation Thanks
Hi Jake,
Thank you so much for putting all of this great content out there in such an entertaining and relatively easy to understand way.
I started natural vision improvement about 20 years ago and had great success getting from 3 diopters down to 0.5. using "Bates" type exercises and relaxation. The key was having an optometrist who was willing to give me reduced prescriptions to back out of glasses. For the past 15 years or so I have been stuck at that last bit of myopia and had resigned myself to having that bit of blur and needing glasses for driving and movies etc. Thanks to your wisdom and emphasis on active focus I am inspired to finally get to 20/20! I realized that I was settling for blur and not even using my focus for stuff inside my blur zone. I already feel more clear and inspired. Thanks!
+Matthew Muller Indeed that's the key, appropriately reducing diopters! Thanks for the kind words. ;)
Everyone should be listening to this
I just realized how simple this is. I not knowing any of this inferred that seeing up close with my overly strong glasses was bad for my eyes because it simply made my eyes uncomfortable especially when drawing or reading. Thanks so much for what you are doing. BTW do you know of any progressive optometrists that might give me slightly reduced lenses in the Denver area?
Well said!!! This makes so much sense! I can't wait to start your program!!!
Yep. Bottom line pretty much when it comes down to it, is to just take good care of your eyes, remember to take breaks, etc. Also distance stimulus is the best. Great video, Jake.
Thanks!
Great videos! Man I love watching such amazing expert explain such clearly to me! Keep up the good work! 😆
What an explanation 👏👏
Brilliant👍
I will try this method as i dont wanna go under minus 5.00, i am curently on minus 3.75 and minus 4.25
I notice it always looks like you lean forward and strain your eyes at the beginning of each video.. is there a reason? thank you.
This video is a summary of a textbook´s worthy of information. If you are new to myopia rehabilitation, and you are not a vision specialist, there is way too much here for you to comprehend in a few months. But it is well worth your while to run down the rabbit hole and start learning.
Jake, this is great. And the coda was beautiful both videographically as well as on a more banausic level. Given the nature of the internet, we almost have to assume that you are out to scam us with snake oil and that there really is no meaningful difference between your method and those of all the others who claim to have reversed myopia in their clients. The fact that you are a real person who doesn´t seek to hid his identity, his neighborhood, or his family adds a lot to the impact that these videos produce. Authenticity counts for a lot.
Thanks for the kind words, Michael! I keep thinking of @endmyopia as a project for family and friends (a bit of a growing circle these days), and all the stories and e-mails and feedback keep reinforcing that sense. I'm sure if it was otherwise (angry trolls), I'd think twice about putting myself out there. :)
One of your best vids, Jake!! Thank you
appreciate you. Thanks
Hey I'm starting out. Researching as much as I can and starting slow. Let's see how it goes.
how is it?
Please make a video on explaining the daily habits to adopt to get eyesight better
Very clear and succinct, thanks.
very informative...really well explained...great video
This s really amazing...God bless you!
Great advice!!
That's a great explanation, thanks. Actually during the time I was doing a lot of computer work with appalling prescriptions some years ago I just avoided going outdoors on the days I worked as it made it so much worse when I got into work.
This was very clear, informative and helpful, not dense and joyless at all.
I'm very new to natural vision improvement and was feeling overwhelmed by many things, ie understanding my prescriotion, astigmatism and the reasons for it, diopters etc but today I'm clearer.
1. Be outside and experience looking into the distance to balance the eye muscles, less screen time, look at letters just when they're beginning to blur and try to brung thrm back into focus without straining. Also, reduce prescription strength gradually and be methodical and patient. Lastly record progress
Thank you very much
Thank u Jake. You r the best.
We need see distance in outdoors! Thank you!🙏🏼
Thank you
Excellent!
Perfect summary video
I had fun
very informative
Thanks jack you have explained nicely but i have a confusion that my eyes are of 1.5 diopter and while doing close up
for protecting eye what should i do and thanks
Amazing!!!!!!
thanks
Thnku Jake.
I still can't believe Jake painted Xs all over that Optometrist Office like a vandal! But I do appreciate it!!!
@Jake, I still want to believe you have good intentions .You said your approach is based on science yet you called a scientific study "bullshit".. is it the methodology, or what? In another post you seemed to assume that they didn't control for the obvious - the possibility that more time outdoors = less time doing near-work. If you read the study you would see that they state that they had. Can you please be more specific about your criticism, or did you simply read nothing more than the headline...? (again , i still think you have good intentions and Sure- hopefully this works )
You’d have to be more specific as to which study. Generally when I call BS I substantiate my position. Could also have been rant mode, though. 😏
I'd like to read more about the science behind this stuff, but cannot find any scientific articles in the description...
First link after the blog post link in the description, "how myopia happens". Start there, at the bottom there are two PDFs with a huge amount of referenced clinical research. Then, Google Scholar. ;)
If the focal point landing in front of the retina caused axial length to decrease, then wouldn't it do so the moment you start becoming myopic, and hence you would never become myopia in the first place? Actually, according to that logic, wouldn't everyone who has ciliary muscle spasms (according to you, that's every one who uses a computer) become hyperopic?
+Jason Woo Faulty logic, not what I'm saying. It's active focus stimulus that promotes axial reduction, not simply passive myopic defocus.
Hey can u help me improving my eye?. My vision is clear but due to headache and eye ache i have to wear glasses (+.2left +.25 rt eye) all the time. I want to get rid of these glasses plz suggest me something
Very good video
I have read the research that axial change goes in both ways. The video is quite interesting, also! But does that mean in order to do computer work (or any other close up activity) that I need to get different glasses for that? I already have glasses that are below my prescription so I do experience that blur in the distance...
Mr jake is it fine to follow ur program after laser treatment to overcome minor refractive error ...-0.75 ...can active focus be exercised after lasik
Yes.
Brother i am working 8-9 hours infront of system......How can i reduce my myophia??.....My eye power is left eye cyl -0.75.. right eye cyl -0.5.......but i am using glasses for working time .... remaining time not hsing glasses.....but doctors told me 24 hours u should use glasses .... otherwise power will increase??.....this is right or wrong??.....Pls tell me brother....😊
Hey Great knowledge ! Thank you ! What is Your opinion on pinhole glasses ? . I just wanna keep my eyes healthy now in my 40,s ;) i still dont use glasses But lately MY close up vision is getting weaker .
Search the channel, I made a video on pinhole glasses.
Jake Steiner Ok ! Thanks brother . I saw That the foltball keepers now has gotten some special invented Googles That stresses and trained the Eye also . Did you Hear about them ? :-). Are There other inventions outthere ?
My kid have high myopia -6.. she is not wearing glass in outdoor… is that ok.. or it wil worse ghe eyesight
Unlikely the child is actually -6. She'd be in complete blur.
Jake I wanted to ask that will it work if I don't wear my glasses while I'm outside
I don't really like to wear them my eye feels strained but when I remove them my eyes feels relaxed
how to get ride of myopia in one eye when another one is 20/20.does challenging glasses make use of both the eye or whether it make clear vision only with the 20/20 one
hi when i go outside should i wear glasses or not plz answer/ And can you make a video like for kids so we can understand better you some words you use is hard to understand plz answer
What about cold weather? I live in the northren part of canada. its september and we aleardy got alot of snow. Just look out my window?
I hv a question, if u don't mind. It's been a year from now that i hv been wearing -2.5 glasses on either eyes . So in order to get rid of glasses totally , should I stop wearing it all of a sudden or get reduced glasses🤔. I am asking because i cn manage without glasses but with a little blur. And lastly I wanna thank you 😊because until I saw your video I had a misconception that not wearing glasses would worsen my eyesight.
So I should wear glasses when I go outside for active focus, but will my vision get blurry more If I dont wear them?(i think that it will get used to blurr so im scared, thats why I ask)
What are the things to keep in mind while going for a weaker prescription pair of glasses? Is it only the Diopter measure that we should consider, or should any other values regarding our lens be considered too.Ex:I have a -4 lens. Can I blindly(no pun intended) go for a -3.5?
Ideas: endmyopia.org/start-diopter-reductions/
I'm 15 and I have -3.50 and -4.00 but I never wear glasses and my myopia was discovered 5 years ago. Is it possible that problem is too much close up (sometimes 4-5 hours daily without break)
How long should outdoor time be? And how often? Id like to schedule one to make sure i wont skip a day or sonething
The more the better! ;). (an hour a day is the rule I make for myself)
I have one question... how many hours should I spent outdoors viewing stuff everyday?
My prescription is -1.5 & -1.75 and with some degree of angle & cylinder( I dont know)
Any effect?
should we wear glasses outdoor or not?
because i am _5 diopter and i don't wear glasses outdoor.
and is it ok to take off glasses while doing active focus?
Thank u
by how much should I reduce the myopia prescription?
Can someone tell if I should not use glasses when studying or using mob ? I quit using my laptop tho xD but when ever I took off my glasses I get a lil headache maybe coz I have been wearing glasses ? And strains too which stays sadly and my eyes itch but than its a good thing right ? I have -3 on both I should use my glasses for everything but not atleast books/screens? Pls someone advise me

Jake , Does eyeball size can be minimized?
I hate looking like a nerd.
lol who doesn't XD
WarMachine who asked to be bullied :P
I like nerds, I hate glasses
I love it, sounds silly, because I am working to remove my glasses. When I do, I will keep non prescrib glasses, that's how much I love them. On the other hand, I am still infatuated because I just got them, so it would be more correct to reply after 1-2 years
@@lindag2076 same lmfaooo I love glasses so I use non prescription when I don't need them
What about wearing reading glasses? Wouldn't they "simulate" outdoor?
+Tom Schmitz Static focal plane change. Still sitting in a room in artificial light, staring at a fixed point in front of you, using about 3% of your field of vision, with a blink rate 5x lower than natural. Sound like good simulation of outdoor? ;)
Thank you for your answer. So it is important that you move eyes and not stare at a fixed point even if you focus correctly?
What's the ending music btw?
does Todd Becker's print pushing and plus lens therapy work? is it similar to your method?
Ask Todd! ;)
+endmyopia I was hoping you were familiar with his method :(
Siddharth did it work?
Is it applicable to all ages?
hello, quick question has anyone had any improvements with their vision whilst using pinhole glasses? im currently using them as well as excercises for my myopia, & im not sure whether or not if theres been any improvement, any comments would be greatly recieved. Thanks! :)
No, no, nooooo pinhole glasses.
+endmyopia So they shouldnt be used at all? :/ do they make your eyes worse?(i feel silly for trying them now) i have only used them a few times since i purchased them, other then that i just walk around with my glasses around my neck incase i need them, would you reccomend any other options as well as excercises? thank you for your reply.

hi Jake,
how do we know when it is time to give a break to ciliary muscle. You suggested to do 1 hour outdoor after 3 hours closeup. But maybe there is some other way to know exactly when ciliary muscle begins to have spasm and break from near vision?
Yup. Have some writing on a wall in your room / office that's small enough to be challenging to read. If you look up and it looks more blurry than before, ciliary spasm has started.
+endmyopia love You, Jake!
+Mantas Da I just did 3 hours close up. But I still does not seem that I have spasm. Maybe because I did 5min breaks every 30min?
how long minimum outdoor time depending on close up time actually we need a day jake?
I like to get at least an hour for myself, at least twice a day. No hard and fast rule though.
+endmyopia does this method also Works for to reverse astigmatism?
woo!

I have a question:
Do you currently have 20/20 vision now, or are you still stuck at 20/30 vision?

Yup. As many people do, at least once a year passed after LASIK. What a crazy procedure!
