OMG I LOVE YOU GUYS....YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR THE TITLE OF THAT GAME (jj sqwaker)..I had played it as a kid and never found it ever again till now...i was only 5 at the time and now I'm 30....you have just made me the happiest boy on earth....I'm not exaggerating...I really love you guys
Once again guys, thank you! No one else takes the time, creates and uploads on such a regular basis like you two. You will always see the nutballs that complain for complaints sake, but you guys kick ass. Love the editing. Love the obscure games. Love the fact that you interact with us on UA-cam.The interaction between you two, and the tireless pace you must have to continue to give us fans some of the best. Thanks guys!
Trio the Punch was Data East's attempt to purposely make a horrible game. They made the game with as many broken mechanics and confusing nonsense as possible without sacrificing the fun factor. Miraculously they succeeded and it really speaks to the talent that Data East had when they tried to make a bad game and it still turned out better than what most other companies were capable of. Not only did people actually pay to play it in Arcades (something that boggles my mind) it did well enough to be considered profitable. Hell, it even got re-released on PS2 over a decade later due to it's cult classic status. Things like this are why Data East is my favorite game developer.
So glad to see J.J. Squawkers on here, it was one of my favorite arcade games as a kid, I recorded footage of it last week for a youtube review in fact but I'm too busy with work to start my gaming channel atm :)
It was awesome seeing you guys at Retro Palooza on Saturday. Thank you for signing my Sega Genesis and SNES controllers. Can't wait to go to your panel today.
One of my favorite arcade games that, as far as i know, didn't really get a home console release is "Come On, Baby." Its one of those 3D, "red+green+blue" button games involving these babies of different nationalities (a Japanese baby, an African one, etc...) competing in some kind of olympics decathalon or something. One event had you racing in a rowboat while trying to smack your opponent, one was jumping an electric jumprope as it went at varying speeds, one was a dance contest, one had you stretching a dinosaur and launching it off a platform and there was even a good ol' slapfight event. Just crazy stuff but i loved it.
Ah, Trio the Punch!! I remember that game from the AGDQ2015 run with the kung fu guy winning pose (which the entire audience copied) and the gamebreaking dash punch! It was such a funny game to watch.
I just watched the entirety of the first four episodes in this series and am really impressed with how well its held up! give it up to Dave, Joe, and Jen
The one thing I love about videos like this one and the occasional arcade stuff that Giant Bomb does is loading up MAME and playing along. JJ Squakers is fun as hell.
Interesting episode guys. I don't think Iv'e heard of ANY of these. You know, you guys are one of the few gaming channels on UA-cam that updates consistently.
Wanna thank you guys so much. You're videos are awesome and deserve so much more attention. Keep it up guys, you're two of my all time favorite UA-cam personalities!
I been watching gamesacks all week and I like the arcade eps. and arcade conversion eps. I'm like that one commentator that said Gamesacks was his guilty pleasure. I have you guys on repeat before going to sleep :D
I absolutely love games by Irem - for instance, Hammering Harry was one of the first arcade games I've ever played, and it has a unique feel to it. Really nice.
Yeah, I've legit always suspected Joe of having the mental faculties of a serial killer. I mean, he certainly nitpicks and complains about every damned thing.
@@joshhunt9551 but I bet you guys would be the first to eat a hamburger or some chicken wings.. Are we all becoming serial killers if we are killing and eating other animals? Are we being Hypocritical right now? Getting mad over a fake animal..
THANK YOU GAMESAKE. I've been searching for ken-go since I was 8 years old. Coulden't remember the name just had this memory of being a ninja or samurai with a sword that had a energy shield ability. I know you won't see this but I'm am over the flipping moon right now. Ken-go, outzone and carrier airwing are among my earliest arcade memories so thanks again for helping me reconnect with some forgotten childhood memories.
*One I really like but not many people seem to remember when I talk about it is A.B Cop. It is like a motorbike / rocket / cop shooter thingy set.... IN THE FUTURE!!!1* *Very fun game but not sure if it would have worked on consoles as it had a handlebar as a controller in the arcades. But either way, it was awesome.*
To get closer to the arcade feel, you need an actual CRT screen like an hacked arcade monitor to run with your PC. The "fat blurry scanlines" from those screens does wonders with the pixel art that are very hard to replicate either on high resolution CRTs or LCD screens.
On the next episode you could take a look at some Arcade-only Beat 'em Ups, like Arabian Magic, Battle Circuit, Battletoads, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Crystal of Kings, Golden Axe: Revege of Death Adder, Guardians, Night Slashers, Ninja Baseball Bat Man, Violent Storm and Warrior Blade: Rastan Saga Episode III.
+K1NG M1DWAY X-Men Arcade was available on IOS/Android. You can still get it on Android by pirating it. WWF games rocked except for those NES games(except for WWF Challenge)
+Neoand12 There was a Cadillacs and Dinosaurs release for the Sega CD, but if i recall right, it was not a port but a different game, but not sure about it tbh
Outzone looked like such a good game! That soundtrack sounds amazing, I think maybe they should have release out zone and the sequel on a Toaplan compilation or just put both on one disc for the Saturn.
Outzone is an incredible Run and Gun. It's a blast, now I don't agree with his take on Fix-Eight because he is playing on an emulator without an arcade stick. It's not quiet the same, and the graphics weren't what he portrayed them to be. He spoke highly on Trio punch but yet he crapped on Fix-Eight hmm. Most people didn't know there was a Snow Bros 2.
It sounds like the instrument set used for Out Zone is similar, if not the same as the set used for Zero Wing. Also, the arranged music in Bonk sounds like something from an early PlayStation game.
Always look forward to Saturday night/Sunday mornings! Another fun episode guys! If you guys do another left in Japan episode, might I suggest Armed Police Batrider or Gunbarich!
Protip: when playing arcade games that make you press up to jump on Mame or MiSTer (or whatever else you may use), just assign up as a button instead of a direction. Now you have better controls than the original for many of these games.
Lots of people are requesting *Ninja Baseball Bat Man* to be included in a future *Left In The Arcade*, it was covered in *Left In The Arcade 2* in *2012*. Please check the Episode Guide.
I love these left in the arcade episodes. I never got to try these titles in the wild. Dyna Gear looked pretty cool to play. Again, another great episode Game Sack. \,,/
Have you ever played Bloodstorm? I was a kid of the '90s when ultra violent was a selling point and I never hear anyone talk about it. What's cool about Bloodstorm is all the secrets that you can discover, so every time you play you might unlock something new.
A couple more beat-em ups off the top of my head: Oriental Legends 2 Metamorphic Force Battle Circuit (_love_ this game) Denjin Maki II Armored Warriors (not sure if it got any console releases, but I don't think it did)
I recently played Cadillacs and Dinosaurs on my friend his Mame cabinet, would loved to have played that on my Megadrive or Super Nintendo back in the day! Great game with nice graphics and great music.
Most of the Incredible Technologies' trackball arcade games were arcade-only (World Class Bowling and Golden Tee 3D Golf being the exceptions). The Golden Tee Fore games would need like a super-overclocked G3258 to emulate at full speed, and all their newer games are PC-based. This makes getting direct footage (and proper play controls) impossible unless you own the (expensive) machines.
+tonk82 I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice. I was having a rough time for some reason. One of those days. Many retakes. I felt like we were kind of phoning this one in. I became more peppy by the time we did the ending skit though.
+tonk82 i think it's because he's depressed. in the gameboy episode he must have realized that nintendo was indeed the best company of the 90s, and it just crushed him.
+Game Sack please take it easy , all of us really appreciate all your hard work ! I agree with tonk82 you guys are one of the best things to happen on youtube ! lots of love Canada !
Blast Wind!! Your BGM choices always are top notch *_* The tate gag at the end got me LMAO xDDDDD I would have loved a Cadillacs And Dinosaurs SNES port, no matter how stripped down it could get...
I would love to see games like alpine racer, rapid river and similar games covered but this would be difficult as they use big arcade cabs with actual physical stuff to play.
Yes! Trio the Punch! WIN WIN! What's really missing from emulating Arcade games is that tension of your quarters being sucked out. I mean, with unlimited continues, you lose the incentive to go as far as póssible with a single credit.
I don't know how well they would work on MAME, but "Lucky and Wild" and "Numan Athletics" were a couple of my absolute favorite arcade games as a kid. Please cover them next time!
Karnov as an enemy in Trio the Punch. We see what you did there, Data East ;) ! Btw guys, that game isn't left in the Arcade, it's out on PS2 in Japan as far as I know.
+Adam Phillip Nope, Trio the Punch, along with 18 other arcade ports were released on different discs on the PS2 in Japan. Here's a wiki: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oretachi_Geasen_Zoku_Sono
More great games. Presented by Game Sack. BTW, hearing you; Dave, say "cha, cha, cha" made my day. You guys are becoming more awesome every week. Keep it up guys!
I just went to a special event in my city, where they had an arcade game I never heard of before called "Dragon Breed". I tried it out as it was the only unmaned cabinet, and to my surprise it was a really damn fun 2D auto-scroller shoot-em-up, where you are a dude riding a badass dragon. Granted, the game was released for the home computers of the time, like Atari and Commodore, but to me, that might as well count as it not having been released, as I know those two consoles come nowhere near an arcade cabinet in terms of graphical power.
Mmmmmmm, that Earth Defense Force music in the credits! You guys have to talk about that one sometime, maybe in an arcade vs. home port or shoot em up episode? It's one of my all-time favorite shooters but totally forgotten.
Today I went to the shopping and found OutRun 2 on the arcade, I immediately thought of GameSack. Then I get home and you just uploaded an episode with OutRun in the shirt. XD
Oh yeah, there at the end... gotta do a "Blatant Excuse to Strip" episode. Aside from that Gonta the Diver game (there were two?) you also have Pipi & Bibi's, Gals Panic, Poker Ladies, etc.
Haunted Castle would be nice to look at, it was in the Oretachi Game Center Zoku compilation for the Japanese PS2, but it's obscure enough where I think it would be worth covering. Some more games for consideration are 1944: The Loop Master, Battletoads Arcade (1994, nothing like the home versions), Bomber Man World, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Castlevania: The Arcade, and Mario Kart Arcade GP.
Tumble pop is a really fun game. There is also an 80's game called "I'm Sorry," that stars the priminister of Japan at the time and features enemies like a moon walking Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson in a Speedo.
There is one I think you should check out. It called Osman in the USA and Cannon Dancer in Japan. It's by the same director of the arcade version of Strider and it shows. It's pretty much a spiritual sequel. It was what started me getting into PCBs. It took me about 4 or 5 years to snag one but it is emulated now also.
Thank you for introducing me to Trio the Punch.
My favorite arcade was Splatterhouse, played it a lot as kid.

+iwonderifthisislegal Thank You!!
Game Sack Dave Dave answered me?! Yesss! I'm totally going to show my wife right now man!😁👍
+iwonderifthisislegal Did you do her with horny glee??? I agree with all you wrote, though. They are leaving a fantastic legacy, too.
Jesse Watson Nope, unfortunately. That's married life for ya lol
+iwonderifthisislegal Yeah, I hear ya--and we're not even married yet!
Trio the Punch did get a home port; Hamster, a Japanese-only company, released just this game on the PS2.
Kengo seems to be Ninja Spirit 2; it has the same weapons and the mechanics seem similar.
+PinMike Yeah it reminded me a lot of Ninja Spirit as well.
It's a lot more primitive than Ninja Spirit. I'd say more of a spiritual predecessor.
+BigBangBlitz Data East was truly amazing.
+BigBangBlitz played this at a pizza hut when RIF system and personal pan pizzas still existed
SeeDRankA Lucky guy. Our Pizza Hut had Survival Arts.
The old asian hulk dude was OP when you fought him, but was crappy as hell in othe games to play as
[Coury] Hey, that's my hand putting the quarters in the machines!
My mind is blown by all this bonus Sack. I don't want it to ever come to an end.
I love your show don't ever stop or change anything unless you guys truly thing it's for the best. I've been watching for about 2 years i think.

This was my favorite sack so far. I played Bonk's Adventure 20+ years ago on a friend's Turbo Grafx and never imagined there was an arcade port.
No one on UA-cam has better videos that inform you about obscure video games than Game Sack!
I just watched the entirety of the first four episodes in this series and am really impressed with how well its held up! give it up to Dave, Joe, and Jen
One of the best things about Sunday. a new episode of Game Sack
The one thing I love about videos like this one and the occasional arcade stuff that Giant Bomb does is loading up MAME and playing along. JJ Squakers is fun as hell.
always like before I watch their videos because I know it's going to be good
Gamesack has such great videos, I even turn off adblock before I watch them. These guys really deserve that youtube money.
The look on Joe's face while burning his hand at the end is hilarious. Lol
Dave's voice is now my internal monologue. Because its enjoyable and gets the job done.
Wish we got a home port of Ninja Baseball Bat Man.
Really nice.
always makes a Sunday great when a new game sack episode is up... awesome
I'm back again - to cap another weekend with a Game Sack episode. Gotta watch!
Man I miss arcade games.
400KrispyKremes yesterday’s games are best games imo
A cat being crushed with an Xbox that's oddly specific
Yeah, I've legit always suspected Joe of having the mental faculties of a serial killer. I mean, he certainly nitpicks and complains about every damned thing.

Another great episode guys, never heard of a lot of these games so it was very informative for me.
You guys should do an episode called Great Games With Bad Names.
Like what games??
+Six String definitely seems like it has potential! i'm throwing my vote in for a Great Games with Bad Names episode as well.
Princess of tomato in salad kingdom,cacoma knight in bizyland,sticky balls,ninja hamster,booby kids,devine divinity,wargasm...
Guilty Gear and Syphon Filter are pretty shitty names
In other words THIS episode.
wow the first 2 games looks great. Ive never heard of most of these. Lots of good ones. Will download.
THANK YOU GAMESAKE. I've been searching for ken-go since I was 8 years old. Coulden't remember the name just had this memory of being a ninja or samurai with a sword that had a energy shield ability. Game sack is one of the best series I like to watch. Great job!
Damn. JJ Squawkers would have been a great name for a TGI Friday's style restaurant that only served chicken dishes.
trio the punch did come out on ps2 in japan. but its emulated.

Nice to meet you guys at retropalooza yesterday. Dave my snes played super famicom games perfectly after the dremel. Thanks!
that JJ Squawkers looks 100% original, super trippy and something a home console is begging for. I cant believe you didnt think that..

i really like the run animation on the wolf in that dyna gear game its quite charming.

Denjin Maki II
Armored Warriors (not sure if it got any console releases, but I don't think it did)

+RudyC3 He's an enemy in a lot of DE games
Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja = Level 1 Boss
also Garyo Retsuden and Tumblepop

That Ninja was using a highly trained martial skill called... wait for it... PLANKING!!!!!
