You have no idea how much i look forward to new game sack episodes.I have been following ever since the mario vs. sonic video. Tons of excellent gameplay footage. No e-begging. I have seen you guys really expand (in quality and content) and i think you guys have a really bright future. Thanks for the content and keep up the good work!
The best bloody roar had to be primal fury on GameCube. The way the beast mechanics worked in that game felt more tactical than other entries. Also, you should keep an eye out for a ps1 fighting game called Cardinal Syn. I remember having such a blast with my mates on that game.
Joe, I want to correct you in something you said. In Bloody Roar you CAN break the walls and do a ring outs. Hell, you can do a Run+Transform attack to accomplish that. It's not only powerful, it looks AWESOME. It's the same for ALL the sequels and versions. Anyway, excellent choose of games. Lots of memories came back to me!
MerolaC Thanks for the info. I saw some walls break many times but never shatter completely away. I think there might be something in the options to disallow that if I recall.
Game Sack You are welcome! By default, the walls ONLY breaks in the second round. In the options you can set when the wall breaks Options are Never, Always and Second round.
My favorite part of this one was the way you knocked the Dreamcast controller away with the Saturn controller during the Guilty Gear overview. You guys are awesome!!
I have been watching your show and because of it I bought a Genesis and Goulds'N Ghosts. Loving the console and the game. Thanks for making the show informed and broadening gaming horizons.
Games I'd like to see on the next fighting game episode: Wu-Tang Shaolin Style Power Moves Mace: The Dark Age WWF Wrestlemania - The Arcade Game King of the Monsters
GameSack friends! You guys kick all of the ass with your weekly Internet programming, so much enjoy! Fighting games get me all hopped up, as if I consumed an inordinate amount of Mountain Dew. This results in an eventual stream of piss resembling that of the Laser power-up from the glorious space shooter series Gradius! Just imagine if I were to live long enough to collect Options, what a mess that would be! Good job as always!
22:06 - "STUPID FLY!!!" On a similar note, there's this new thing on GSN known to take the place of an ad break known as Man vs. Fly. You winning that 'fight' reminded me of that, Joe!
Thanks for everything Joe and Dave ! i love all your vids and you grew to be one of my favourite channels on YT, your content is very interesting and the way you describe how you enjoy games that are well designed ! I love everything ! Keep up the corny humour and the stop motion !
What a perfect surprise to find another GameSack episode for the 2nd week straight! I kill flies like that all the time, and the only suggestion I have for you guys is try throwing a hadoken at one, it's perfect for when you wanna be lazy!
There were actually 5 Toshinden games. Toshinden, Toshinden 2, Toshinden 3, Toshinden 4 (Toshinden Subaru in Japan), and a spin-off game, Battle Arena Nitoshinden -- which was basically "Toshinden Kids".
I really enjoyed "Star Gladiator", "Bugi" (Sacred Fist) as well as "Cardinal Syn" back then. Imho quite underrated and not really bad games. Hope to see them on a future episode. :D
***** i believe because Ryu isn't using any Dark hado Power!! so do not even think that it's even cheap, when Ryu is taking it easy on all the SNK Characters, now who's cheap-(as in Capcom knows how to be Cheap in those modern times) because knowing Ryu is the only Character that can win against just about all the characters and not even fair because is my Main character but in this Chapter Ryu is given more Added bonus Tune Ups that all Characters do not possess, if oyu play it again i'm sure you'll see what i mean by this.
Arcader Kid That is one really long run on sentence! *Takes a deep breath* It really depends on when this game takes place in the timeline of Street Fighter. He doesn't really unlock the Dark Hado until later in the series.
The most notable thing about Bloody Roar is that changing into an animal is known as "beast mode" which SOMEHOW BECAME A JOCK CATCH PHRASE. You can go to NFL stadiums and see graphics encouraging players to enter Beast Mode. It's like being in the twilight zone.
SVC chaos looks awesome! I never tried it and I love fighting games. "Koko desu ka" means "Where is this"/"Where are you" or something along those lines depending on context.
A thought that's crossed my mind before is a whole episode on anime fighters. - A Guilty Gear game - A BlazBlue game - A Melty Blood game (PS2 JP) - An Arcana Heart game (PS2, PS3) - Fist of the North Star/ Hokuto No Ken (PS2 JP) - Sengoku Basara X (PS2 JP) - AquaPazza (PS3) Hundreds more out there, a lot of really obscure ones too if you go indie/doujin with games like Eternal Fighter Zero, Big Bang Beat, Yatagarasu and more. Oh, and Goenitz is still my favorite SNK boss of all time. Such style and class. He is one of the hardest SNK bosses, but honestly, I'd rather fight him than Krizalid.
You guys need to do VR GAMES!!! (I don't think you have!) Do some oculus games, and show off the virtual boy and other weird old VR stuff that we've never heard of. I saw there is actually an original zelda remake in VR, and you can actually run emulators in VR too, lots of potential for a long episode. It'd also be funny watching you both react to some of the games. If u need an oculus, I guess I could let you borrow mine :o
I love the Total Control 3 as well for the DC! Such a great little gadget. I would recommend covering World Heroes Perfect for the Sega Saturn in a future fighting game episode. All around just a fun fighter with great gameplay and music. Also, love the Dreamcast shirt! Keep up the good work guys. Your vids always make my week.
I'm not huge into fighting games but my absolute fave is Bloody Roar Primal Fury on the Gamecube... I love the mechanics to it (most that you mentioned) like changing, getting new moves, strategies to regaining health, etc. Some of them transform into things other than animals (like strange mutants).
Weekly Game Sack just might be the best thing since sliced bread. Interesting as always guys, Guilty Gear X looked so damn good. I wish more modern companies would attempt 2D fighters drawn like that again.
Power Quest on Game Boy color! You buy a robot, fight other robots, earn money to buy new parts to improve your robot.. it's a really underrated game. The only thing that really sucks about it is that there is a password save
Game Sack, thank you for finally covering the Bloody Roar series. No-one talks about it, and it's probably number 3 of my favorite fighting series (Oh, and 3 and Primal Fury are my favorites.)
I love fighting games. I used to go to an arcade called Capcom Station and spend hours playing fighting games and shoot em ups. There's this game called Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix that I enjoyed a lot.
I am so happy you guys added _Battle Arena Toshinden 2_ to this video. The first three games are absolutely awesome and the first two in particular are a big part of my childhood! The third one is a little lazy in terms of unlockable characters and the fourth one is... very unusual, to say the least, but all and all, it's a pretty great series with a lot of memorable characters! There's even a one-shot cartoon for it, which is also really great!
the N64 had some interesting exclusive fighting games that you can cover: Fighters Destiny 1 & 2 Mace the Dark Age Dark rift Killer Instinct gold Deadly Arts
One fighting game I used to play a bunch back in the day was Evil Zone on the PS1. I played it again recently and it was actually pretty sweet. It might be worth checking out.
Game Sack im so glad you added castlevania judgment... now I have to petition you guys to do the full series episode! soon eh? but on the topic of music... what did you think of the music score of judgment?
Nick Cress I played Evil Zone so much years ago, I even unlocked the "special" congratulations message where they all just talked about the sequel that never happened :'(
Here are some suggestions for the next fighting game segment. 1. Zero Divide 1&2-PS1 2. Time Killers-Sega Genesis/Arcade 3. Deadly Arts-N64 4. Fatal Fury Wild Ambition-PS1
Man, back when I was 8 years old my friends and I played so many fucking hours of Ehergiz. The mini games were fun as hell when you're with a bunch of buds, plus the single player quest mode was soooo fun when you were solo. A truly underrated awesome game.
By the way, you didn't mention that Ehrgeiz has a pretty good interrupt/counter system pretty similar to "just defend" in SNK fighters. There were even detailed faqs for using it properly for tourneys back in the early 2000s.
I might be wrong but what Joe said about SNK vs Capcom at the 4:00 min mark was the other way around because we were selling us xbox copies of the game but no ps2.
Gonna list a bunch of less-well-known fighters, hopefully I'm not mentioning any you've already covered: 1. Garou - Mark of the Wolves 2. Star Gladiator. I know, it's kinda bad, but the arcade intro is hilarious 3. Samurai Shodown series - I think you might have covered a few, but I really like 2 and 3 4. Cyberbots - an interesting mech fighter from capcom 5. Pocket Fighter - chibi capcom fighter
My favorite Bloody Roar game is definitely part 3! Some fighting games you should cover in the future: Marvel Vs. Capcom, Tastunoko Vs. Capcom, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Dragon Ball Z Budokai, Blaz Blue, Skullgirls, Godzilla Unleashed, Battle Fantasia, and Persona 4 Arena.
I know that if you guys do another fighting game episode that the next logical step for Guilty Gear is to talk about Guilty Gear X2, but that is by far my favorite 2D fighter ever. The characters they added, the music, the character originality, unique move sets, and unlockable characters makes it almost impossible to compete with. Other fighters that I have thoroughly enjoyed over the years are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Gundam Battle Assault 2. An "interesting" one that you could talk about is Wu-Tang Clan: Shaolin Style on the PS1. I'm not saying that it's a great game (by any means) but I did manage to have the perseverance to beat the story mode once. I hope you enjoy playing these games!
@game sack My favourite Toshinden game was the third, purely for nostalgic reasons. It's not a great game but it has a lot of characters to unlock (because there's a clone for every good character) and the best character in that game is the Michael Jackson ripoff Ten Count. Technically there are 5 games, 4 on the PS1, although 4 only got a pal an Japanese release, and a rebirth on the WIi. Bloody Roar Primal Fury was my fave in the series, and I'm sure you guys will enjoy it when you get to it. Another small little bit of info, SNK vs Capcom was not a PAL only release for the Xbox, it did have a NTSC release here as well, I owned a copy myself until recently.
Castlevania Judgment looks good indeed. Never played it though as I was too pissed that it wasn't a proper Castlevania action game (ain't a big fan of fighting games, my favorite one is still Mortal Kombat II). Nice ending btw you guys are the best!
Have you guys ever covered Dream Mix TV: World Fighters? I can't recall, but I don't think you have. And if not, that might be a good one for a future episode -- assuming Smash Brothers-style arena fighters count, anyway. Dream Mix TV was released on the PS2 and Gamecube in Japan, and was a joint venture from Hudson, Konami and Takara, so it features characters from all three of those companies' IPs. As a result, you can totally have a four-player Bomberman versus Optimus Prime versus Master Higgins from Adventure Island versus Simon Belmont match, or other such crazy things. The fighting itself is really basic, but I love the HP gimmick -- each match begins with HP crystals falling from the sky, and the four fighters all scramble to pick up as much as they can. When you attack opponents, HP gets knocked out of them, which other fighters can then pick up. And when you punch an opponent who has no HP left, his soul flies out -- but he's still in the match until somebody "catches" that soul. And if he manages to get to it first, he... I don't know, swallows it back up, I guess? And can go on fighting without incident. It's a neat game system that makes the whole experience a little different from other arena fighters, and while the fighting action really isn't super amazing or anything, the HP gimmick and the crazy roster of characters make up for it enough that I think it's worth checking out.
Wyrdwad But that game plays more like a brawler/smash clone than a [traditional] fighting game (not saying it's good or bad, just completely different style)
SNKega Yeah, but brawler/smash clones are still technically fighting games. Different style or no, I think it would still qualify for an episode like this.
One thing you didn't mention was the artwork for Castlevania Judgment was done by the same dude who gave us the manga and anime "Death Note". Anyway, nice work here!
Funny you guys mention Bloody Roar. The last one that they made was exclusive on the GameCube called Bloody Roar: Primal Rage. Kind of have a soft spot for this series since me and my cousin played this a lot back then.
I've been playing Castlevania Judgement. I was a little weirded out by them including a golem as one of the playable characters, but he was characterized so well that I actually found him adorable.
SVC Chaos... I remember when I bought PlayStation 2 in 2010, I wanted to get SVC Chaos, because it had Zero in it. After playing it for a while, I started liking the SNK characters more. I liked their desings more than Capcom one's. This was my gateway to SNK fighters and SNK games in general, as shortly after I bought KOF 2002, 98UM, the SNK collections and finally, the best SNK fighting game ever, KOF XI (you should really try that one) I can also appreciate that SNK included more obscure characters in the game, like Earthquake, Tessa and Mars People. Also, Serious Mr. Karate boss is one badass. It was also nice to see some fighters from my childhood. It sure has been long time since I last saw Bloody Roar and Battle Arena Toshinden.
Awesome to see you put in Eiji's theme from Battle Arena Toshinden 2/URA - it was one of my favourite BGM's back in the day. Had to track down the PSX BAT2 just for the extended versions of the tracks though, as the versions in URA are truncated a fair bit. Awesome picks too. Would love to see you cover some of the more quirky, b-grade fighters on the Saturn, like D-Xhird, Zero Divide: The Final Conflict and, if you're up for a laugh, FIST. FIST is a really, really bad fighter with only a handful of moves for each character, but I think it straddles the border of so bad it's good. I got it purely for the soundtrack for $5 AUD, and found myself putting more time into the game than I'd care to admit...
A few obscure fighting games I really enjoy that might be worth looking into are "Dream Mix World TV Fighters" for GCN in Japan: A Smash Bros type fighter with a weird mix of characters including Simon Belmont, Bomberman and Megatron, yes I'm serious. Another, more of a wrestling type game, but still really neat: "Ultimate Muscle" also on GCN but in all regions. A fun beat em up game with a lot of quirky personality, one of the last AKI wrestling games akin to the N64 wrestling games.
Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament and Marvel vs Capcom are my favourites as well as Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival on the GBA. The controls were amazing on that game and basic mode made pulling off Hadoukens and specials all the more easier and enjoyable.
ALL great videos. In depth, and with lots of information. So when is *Game* *Sack* going to finally give us a Question-and-Answer video so we can learn more about Joe and Dave, and how you came to be where you are making these great videos, and anything else about you and your channel. The first question I would like to add to the QnA list (of a hopefully future video), is what video editing programs do you use for all your effects? Thanks again guys.
At 02:22-02:32, I know that feeling all to damn well it sucks, but it was funny as hell hearing you imitate the voice of that attack. That's how you know it's real when the CPU is pissing you off from cheap tactics. Isn't this a sign of the infamous "SNK Boss Syndrome"?
Game Sack I wonder if it had to do with more operators removing Neo-Geo cabs during that time. That's around 2003-2004, so it seems plausible that Playmore might want to give the option to release those games as either a Neo-Geo kit or a JAMMA conversion. That was also around the time they were getting ready to move to the Atomiswave platform, too.
Weekly Game Sack kicks so much ass.
TheMentalRelapse Thank You!
KOKODESUKA!
Cocoa Disco!
gents can I just say how ecstatic I am that these vids are now weekly. brightens up my Sunday! thank you!
Krishan Pandya Awesome! Thanks for watching..
Game Sack and fighting games....2 of my favorite things together to take my mind off the fact that school starts again this week. :)
Oh man. The ending skit has me in tears. Literally. I had to lay down and cry because I laughed until it hurt when they fly exploded.
The best bloody roar had to be primal fury on GameCube. The way the beast mechanics worked in that game felt more tactical than other entries. Also, you should keep an eye out for a ps1 fighting game called Cardinal Syn. I remember having such a blast with my mates on that game.
Oh, and Dissidia on PSP :)
Please NEVER RETIRE this show, it brings too much happiness to my life.
In the options you can set when the wall breaks
Options are Never, Always and Second round.
You know, this whole gamesack every week thing is amazing.
+Game Sack SVC chaos was also port to the XBox in North America. Also I think you could choose to play as Zero.
+mage davee Yeah, the Mega Man Zero version, not the cooler Mega Man X version :( I'd take the boob lights over the man thong every time.
I could watch an 8 hour episode of Game Sack every Sunday.
Games I'd like to see on the next fighting game episode:
Wu-Tang Shaolin Style
Power Moves
Mace: The Dark Age
WWF Wrestlemania - The Arcade Game
King of the Monsters
Ehrgeiz AND Bloody Roar 1 &2?!?!?!? Nostalgia overload, you guys nailed this one!!
YES! You did go back to weekly. Thank your family Dave!!!
Nothing better than a Game Sack episode before bed! :D
I'm so happy you guys went back to a weekly show. Now my interim weekends won't suck.
22:06 - "STUPID FLY!!!"
On a similar note, there's this new thing on GSN known to take the place of an ad break known as Man vs. Fly. You winning that 'fight' reminded me of that, Joe!
Remembering you guys are now weekly always brings joy to my heart
I'll watch this tomorrow morning during breakfast. Thanks Game Sack _!_
The Pickles Not a problem. :)
Game Sack
Suggestions for next time: Dark Rift and Mace: the Dark Age.
Both N64, can't remember if you already covered them, so...
Another great video, guys! So glad you are doing weekly vids now!

Much better than last week. Gave the games a chance, researched them properly. The Amiga episode deserved to be like this.
This is one of the best ones ive seen in a long time from you guys
"he's also an archaeologist so naturally he's also searching for the secret of immortality"
lol
At 2:33 it sounds like he is saying "gå och diska" which is swedish for "go do the dishes". XD
I would love to see a random shoot em up episode or maybe a second frustrating games episode. great episode either way :)
Dave, please give Bushido Blade another chance. I once played 100 p.v.p. battles in a row. Lost most. This is the best show on youtube thank you!
STUPID FLY! *I'm crying. I love you guys*
great vid as always. thanks for talking about the mighty Neo Geo !
I really enjoyed "Star Gladiator", "Bugi" (Sacred Fist) as well as "Cardinal Syn" back then. Imho quite underrated and not really bad games. Hope to see them on a future episode. :D
guys I've seen all your videos and love how detailed you are on your reviews and try to find the good in them even if they're subpar.
Game Sack is still my fav channel on youtubes. So good I Liked and commented before I even watched it.
How the hell does Ryu say nothing like a fair fight when Goenitz was so cheap lol
***** My thoughts exactly.
***** Only thing I could come up with is Maybe ryu met his match in fireball spamming. HAHAHA
Arcader Kid
That is one really long run on sentence! *Takes a deep breath*
It really depends on when this game takes place in the timeline of Street Fighter. He doesn't really unlock the Dark Hado until later in the series.
gozinta82 LOL!! That is very much true, after all it only happens in Alpha series plus Ken afterwards follows Ryu into the dark Hado.
The music was easily the best thing about Castlevania Judgment. Made me enjoy the game much more than I would've otherwise.
6 segments instead of 10, but each segment was slightly longer and more detailed.
and noticeably more humor. probably the funniest episode yet.
BLOODY..... ROAR....... broke many friendships with this game. fave character was the chameleon dude
Good to see Battle Arena Toshinden 2! One of my favorite old series that nobody likes anymore but me!
SVC chaos looks awesome! I never tried it and I love fighting games.
"Koko desu ka" means "Where is this"/"Where are you" or something along those lines depending on context.
King of Fighters is like the soccer of fighting games
Captain Karnage Incredible excellent, then? :P
Captain Karnage You mean like where there's tons of random kicking and you hope none of it lands to your groin?
Captain Karnage you mean that it's very popular, yet very boring
What I mean by that is it's super popular all around the world exept the us
Captain Karnage I'm from South America and I expected a Mexican joke, dammit.
So glad you guys are doing weekly again
Winning with the fart move that the old guy has in toshinden 2 is amazing.
A thought that's crossed my mind before is a whole episode on anime fighters.
- A Guilty Gear game
- A BlazBlue game
- A Melty Blood game (PS2 JP)
- An Arcana Heart game (PS2, PS3)
- Fist of the North Star/ Hokuto No Ken (PS2 JP)
- Sengoku Basara X (PS2 JP)
- AquaPazza (PS3)
Hundreds more out there, a lot of really obscure ones too if you go indie/doujin with games like Eternal Fighter Zero, Big Bang Beat, Yatagarasu and more.
Oh, and Goenitz is still my favorite SNK boss of all time. Such style and class. He is one of the hardest SNK bosses, but honestly, I'd rather fight him than Krizalid.

Bloody roar was one of my all time favorites as a kid. I played that game for hours.

I love fighting games. I used to go to an arcade called Capcom Station and spend hours playing fighting games and shoot em ups. There's this game called Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix that I enjoyed a lot.
Now I can't unsee Sephirot doing all Yoshimitsu's moves xD
Interesting
Edit: That ending skit was fantastic.

YES! NEW VID!!! best channel on youtube!
I might be wrong but what Joe said about SNK vs Capcom at the 4:00 min mark was the other way around because we were selling us xbox copies of the game but no ps2.
Koko desu ka? SNK bosses are always so cheap. It's the deadly combination of their powerful, spammable moves, combos, and deadly AI.
Gonna list a bunch of less-well-known fighters, hopefully I'm not mentioning any you've already covered:
1. Garou - Mark of the Wolves
2. Star Gladiator. I know, it's kinda bad, but the arcade intro is hilarious
3. Samurai Shodown series - I think you might have covered a few, but I really like 2 and 3

Nothing like a dose of weekly sack.
@game sack
My favourite Toshinden game was the third, purely for nostalgic reasons. love the end skits thank you for the laughs
You guys are on fire. How do you manage to produce so much high quality content in so little time?
Castlevania Judgment looks good indeed. Never played it though as I was too pissed that it wasn't a proper Castlevania action game (ain't a big fan of fighting games, my favorite one is still Mortal Kombat II).
Nice ending btw you guys are the best!
don't know if they've been covered before but i really like the power stone games on dreamcast.
I swear it sounds like he's saying "Coco Disco" and thought for sure Joe was going to "Coco Disco" that fly at the end. Lol.
Wyrdwad It's an awesome game, I've been trying to find that :)
Wyrdwad
I would expect a few more fighting game episodes in the future, so many decent titles to cover!
+Wyrdwad ahh that game was fun... but kinda lacked deepness.
Heavy metal geometric on the Dreamcast was an enjoyable 3D fighter with a metal soundtrack. Great vide as always guys!
stogash it is geomatrix douche hole
I wish the footage in this episode was in 60fps. In fighting games, you've _GOT_ to have 60fps!
+Shane the Freestyler Fighting games and racing games.
Gender Neutral Chibi Thing more like anything that has real time action
protocetid Well, pretty much any game on any platform, but that's not the subject here. o3o
Shane the Freestyler turn based games are ok with 30 and nicer graphics and some puzzle games too I suppose
The xbox version of of SVC Chaos actually also came out in North America (at 4:00)
Also I love that you guys are doing weekly videos now, keep in up!
This was my gateway to SNK fighters and SNK games in general, as shortly after I bought KOF 2002, 98UM, the SNK collections and finally, the best SNK fighting game ever, KOF XI (you should really try that one)
I can also appreciate that SNK included more obscure characters in the game, like Earthquake, Tessa and Mars People.
HAHA omg the fly part at the end was hilarious! I've been laughing for like 20 minutes!
Great episode! btw, SNK vs. Capcom was released on the og XBOX in AMERICA as well, Joe, FYI.
Freaking love you guys!
1. Tattoo Assassins
2. Blood Storm
3. Fighting Vipers
4. Rival Schools
5. Time Killers
I spent far too much time wondering what it would be like to live in a bubble floating aimlessly around in space...
Goenitz has *always* been spammy as hell
At 02:22-02:32, I know that feeling all to damn well it sucks, but it was funny as hell hearing you imitate the voice of that attack. That's how you know it's real when the CPU is pissing you off from cheap tactics. Isn't this a sign of the infamous "SNK Boss Syndrome"?
I actually just got a SVC Chaos PCB a few days ago. Great fun!
Marc Marta I always found it kind of weird how a lot of later Neo Geo games were on their own PCB and not just carts. I've got a Metal Slug 5 PCB.
Bad jokes? What bad jokes? I laughed at all of them!
