Prop Cycle. There used to be a cabinet of this crazy game at a bowling alley I frequented. I always thought that I would buy one when I got older so I could use it to stay in shape. It didn't happen, but I'd love to try it again some day. They could have made it work on the Dreamcast fishing controller...
Big Fight: Trouble in the Atlantic Ocean It's a really fun beat'em up game (also has versus mode), where bosses become playable after beating them. The game has quite a few branch paths, which really ups the replay value.
4:15 - I think this revelation needs to be more widespread. It definitively proves that Billy Mitchell couldn't have performed his world record runs on an unmodified Donkey Kong arcade cabinet, as if it were unmodified, he would be playing Radar Scope.
The original 2,000 donkey Kong cabinets were converted from radar scope but there were upwards of 80,000 units sold in America alone so it's not like every donkey Kong game was a conversion. This isn't exactly a smoking gun that proves Billy Mitchell is a liar and a cheater. But there's enough evidence of that already anyways lol
i've kinda sick of watching the same 2018 game sack intro that hasn't been changed until 2024 because this channel never dies and never gets retired along with AVGN scott the woz nor happyconsolegamer because retro gaming channels on youtube still living place in my heart for entertaiment
I binged-re-watched the previous 'Left in the Arcade' videos yesterday so this was a treat to sit down to after a *checks watch* 16 hour shift at work. Love the new intro.
The Hotel Dusk duology is something long overdue for a rerelease; given that the Trace Memory duology is coming out on Switch worldwide in the near future, who knows?
Yep, I was amazed and instantly recognized this woman's yell from its title screen, right from "Close (to the Edit)". Glad to see some people here knows good old English electronic music as well!
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not a spinoff. It's the main series. They have changed the name from Yakuza to Like a Dragon to match the Japanese name for the series, and they turned it into a turn-based game. You get the old style in actual spinoffs like Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and the Judgement games.
64th Street was a precursor for Jaleco's Super Famicom "Rushing Beat" series; early ad screenshots of the original game (released as "Rival Turf" overseas) had the protagonist (also named Rick) dressed in the same pants and overalls combo as 64th St's Rick. He was modified into a Cody clone by the time the game hit the shelves.
Also, it's hard to think of a look more iconic than the Dreamcast style of super high resolution polygons, with ALMOST enough detail and animation to render convincingly realistic humans.
The graphics for Spikeout screams Dreamcast and definitely would sit right at home for the console. I love these bright colours that lots of Dreamcast arcade-style action games had.
I have been watching your videos for years now and I just have to say that every time you post one I sit through and watch the whole thing. It's rare that a UA-cam video keeps me paying attention at the length your videos are. You're awesome! Thank you for everything and it's super entertaining and interesting to watch your stuff.
If you ever do a "Left in the Arcade 11", one game you should review is Kaiser Knuckle/Global Champion (as well as its Dan-Ku-Ga update). Granted it technically did eventually get a home release via the Taito Egret II miniconsole in 2022, but considering that a game featured in this video also got a techincal home release on Evercade, I think that Kaiser Knuckle/Global Champion should also qualify for a LITA review.
New year, new intro. Love the animation, flow of movement. It looks amazing. Subject of the video: so many games never received home ports. Most I have never heard of, that you covered in this episode. Fun to learn about these lost treasures
This is why FPGA hardware will always be the future of retro gaming. There's really no other way to play these games the way they originally functioned, outside of on the original arcade boards.
*Super Monkey Ball / Slashout facts:* • Some of the enemies make cameoes as stone statues in Super Monkey Ball's storm stage (Expert 41-50) • One of the stages is used as Dr Bad Boon's secret base in Super Monkey Ball 2 (Story Mode cutscene) • The gear models from the Slashout clock tower stage are used in the Monkey Ball 2 clock tower stage Being a huge Monkey Ball fan, that is basically the only reason I've played Slashout
The worst part about Planet Harriers is that Hikaru boards are notoriously fragile due to defective soldering on the BGAs which will pop off the board if they are handled roughly or sometimes just due to heat cycling putting stress on the solder joints. Every Hikaru board is on borrowed time and will eventually unalive itself at some point by means of one of the BGAs falling off the PCB just from being used.
When I first moved to Seattle around 1999 I took temp jobs for a while and one of them was at the Nintendo Warehouse over in Redmond. They had a (unmodified) Radar Scope arcade game in the lunch break area.
It is unbelivable that Toshihiro Nagoshi has left Sega after so many decades. He's probably gone to live in a stranded paradisiacal island along with Yu Suzuki and Yuji Naka 😬
Always love these episodes and many thanks for reminding me that Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is out soon, amazing series and made sure to order my copy when the section mentioning it came up. Absolutely adore the "digital tourism" those games provide along with the great functional arcades that include stuff like Virtual Fighter 2/5, Virtual On, Fighting Vipers, and more.
Amazing.! new year, new gamesack. Well done to the whole team for reinventing gamesack but chirpier and quicker. Deadmeat done the same and never looked back. I will always watch every single episode every year. Great job gamesack (and dave) 😅👍
Nitro Ball has a home port via Johnny Turbo's Arcade collection! Or well... it did before it (and all the other games) was unceremoniously delisted from the eshop a few months ago.

Wanted to drop a comment for props on the new intro. Not sure how you made it but I love it. Super cool. Oh… and of course that ending was no slouch either 😂. Maybe someday I’ll have the bravery to pull that on camera. On second thought, for the sake of my audience I’ll refrain 😅
I like Silent Dragon's music actually. Suprised they had the balls to blatantly sample Prince's 'Get Off' for the 3rd stage. The first two stage BGM tracks use a lot of Art of Noise stuff. Would love to know the origin of the main repeating/looping sample from the 1st stage!
The new intro looks awesome! There are so many games listed here that I still wish got released on console, like SCUD Race, and I had no idea about Planet Harrier! Another excellent episode, Joe!
What are some more interesting games that absolutely never came home?
Prop Cycle. There used to be a cabinet of this crazy game at a bowling alley I frequented. I always thought that I would buy one when I got older so I could use it to stay in shape.

Techno Drive by Namco
The outfoxies
Surprise Attack (Konami, 1990), Magical Truck Adventure (Sega), Tokyo Wars (Namco, 1996), Vandyke (UPL, 1990) and Valtric (NMK/Jaleco, 1986).
The A-ha "Take on Me" Game Sack intro
2023 mario movie made me smile like an idiot because animation is cinema
Absolutely loved the intro Joe!
What do you think of take on me?
But the outro tho 😂
I’ll just add the intro was amazing!! Great start to a new year. Take care and thanks Joe
The old one is better
I love the previous intro too but this new one is next level.
The first fresh Sack of 2024!
Nothing like s fresh sack!!
Smells fresh, too! 👃
Long live the show, long life for Joe!
Hopefully thd the first of many😊
That's what she said.
4:15 - I think this revelation needs to be more widespread. It definitively proves that Billy Mitchell couldn't have performed his world record runs on an unmodified Donkey Kong arcade cabinet, as if it were unmodified, he would be playing Radar Scope.
Tagging @Karl Jobst!
He disappointed his dad. This revelation was on the Regular Show final battle.
The original 2,000 donkey Kong cabinets were converted from radar scope but there were upwards of 80,000 units sold in America alone so it's not like every donkey Kong game was a conversion. 8:52 1988? The Sega Model 3 hardware was so powerful, it could go back in time!
They were so ahead of their time😂
Damn! You truly cannot be satisfied without Model 3!
Arcades? Where they're going, you don't need arcades.
Sega Model 3 is an evolutionn
“I'm from the future. I came here in a Sega Model 3 arcade cabinet that you invented. Now I need your help to get back to the year 1988.”
I binged-re-watched the previous 'Left in the Arcade' videos yesterday so this was a treat to sit down to after a *checks watch* 16 hour shift at work.
Love the new intro.
That cat gallop is insane.
We've entered the Rotoscoped Joe era of Game Sack.
RotoJoed
Looks Sketchy 😁
this man has listening to take on me on repeat because of the mario movie just saw last year in cinema
Ah yes, the "Take on Me" era. I'm also waiting for the "Money for Nothing" era, and eventually the cursed claymation "Tool" era, lol.
Kudos to the person who made that Hotel Dusk: Room 215 esc intro :D
The Hotel Dusk duology is something long overdue for a rerelease; given that the Trace Memory duology is coming out on Switch worldwide in the near future, who knows?
All the video thumbnails should be redesigned on that style.
If Another Code Recollection sells well the creator of Hotel Dusk (which is the same) will consider making a remake/remaster of Hotel Dusk.
I was thinking A-ha but I'm old.
I'm thinking the intro was done with ebsynth but I could be wrong
The end skit is as funny as ever.Happy New Year, Joe and long live Game Sack.
Ton of unauthorized Art of Noise samples in Silent Dragon! Would never have known that without this episode -- thanks Joe!
Yep, I was amazed and instantly recognized this woman's yell from its title screen, right from "Close (to the Edit)". Glad to see some people here knows good old English electronic music as well!
What a great opening intro!
Sega GT's graphics were incredible for 96 even for Arcade.
Agreed!
I thought i was looking at something from the early 2000s. Pretty incredible
New year, new Game Sack! Bring it on!! Great job as usual.

Yeah, Infinite Wealth is basically Yakuza 8.
64th Street was a precursor for Jaleco's Super Famicom "Rushing Beat" series; early ad screenshots of the original game (released as "Rival Turf" overseas) had the protagonist (also named Rick) dressed in the same pants and overalls combo as 64th St's Rick. i remember when i got left at the arcade. it was fun until i ran out of money
@John-PaulHunt-wy7lfwut
These videos always drop when I'm debating jumping out my window. So I appreciate the life sucks distraction lol
Loving the sack on me intro
"Sack on me
Sack me on"
That should be on a t-shirt 👕
I'll be gone
In a sack or twoooo
Also, it's hard to think of a look more iconic than the Dreamcast style of super high resolution polygons, with ALMOST enough detail and animation to render convincingly realistic humans.
That intro was cool as hell. Happy to see you holding it down 10 years since I've first watched your channel. Say hi to Dave for all of us
The graphics for Spikeout screams Dreamcast and definitely would sit right at home for the console. I love these bright colours that lots of Dreamcast arcade-style action games had.
Really pleased to see that gems like Spikeout are finally being mentioned more. It's fighting system is near to flawless.
Thanks. I really like these as it makes me aware of obscure arcade games and i can just rry them on mame
Thank you for Dedication and hard work on making these videos.I have been watching for the last 5 years. Love your Cheesy Skits 🤣👍👍
Yet again, Joe knocks it out of the park. Thanks for all your efforts, Joe, and a belated Happy New Year to you and yours.
Love the intro! Gives me Hotel Dusk vibes.
Or 1980 music video vibes because that’s exactly what it’s from.
Indeed. :)
@@whatjake7898I’m familiar with Take On Me, I was just linking it to games.
Good video. One of very few channels that have managed to stay entertaining. And that was good comedic ending. Several of them are gems. Thanks.
Silent Dragon - Wow, someone was listening to a lot of Art of Noise when they did that music.
4:09 love this 100% genuine photo of Shiggy

thanks for all the years of sacks! i appreciate everything that goes into them
Ooooh yeah, new Game Sack video… it’s cozy time 😁
ooh yeah! Funky JET was my favorite game for a long time back in the arcade! ❤
I've always wanted to play Scud Race. Hoping to see it show up on PSN or in a Yakuza game one day. Loved the intro!
I loved the yakuza games. Been doing a marathon of finally beating the games. Couple of months ago I went from 0 to 6 games I beat.
I believe most of them are on gamepass
Thanks for always making awesome videos! Hope 2024 is a great year full of even more Game Sack!
Thanks a ton! :)
Looks like someone really likes holding the sack😮
What an awesome intro! Now, you just need that "take on me" song in the background and your set Bro! Salud from Chicago! 🍻💥🍻👍

Couldn't they just be resoldered? Doesn't sound like an unrepairable problem.
kinda reminds me of Konami specific board where it contains a "suicide battery" where the component will stop working at the designated date.
I can picture some Sega Engineer, drunk and watching Radar Scope, and thinking "Hey, we can make something really cool with sprite scaling!"
I hear that "hey" sound effect from silent dragon and i instantly think of the song "fire starter" by the prodigy.
I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator!
Great video! As per usual, in addition to the excellent research into the main topic, the ending skit is pure gold.
Great eh ❤
When I first moved to Seattle around 1999 I took temp jobs for a while and one of them was at the Nintendo Warehouse over in Redmond. They had a (unmodified) Radar Scope arcade game in the lunch break area.

It is unbelivable that Toshihiro Nagoshi has left Sega after so many decades. He's probably gone to live in a stranded paradisiacal island along with Yu Suzuki and Yuji Naka 😬
Hopefully it isn’t linked to the last paradisical resort island popular among rich successful men :P
Now I have to wonder if going to live in a paradisiacal island would violate Yuji Naka's probation and which would land him in jail
@@Jofe000 Haha, Yuji Naka is a lucky b@stard, he escaped from jail by a hair!
A-ha, a new intro. Nice one.
The 1st Game Sack video of 2024. Gonna be an interesting one topic wise.
New year, new Sack, even new intro! I'm pretty partial to Radar Scope to several other "Space Invaders clones," barring the Namco games.
Fun fact:
Yakuza actually also reuses animation from Spikeout like for example, Mine who is the final boss of Yakuza 3 reuses animations from White
Oooh, stylish new intro! Who drew that? Was it you or some other guy? I recall that you were a good artist.
I did!
You rotoscoped it huh? Looks good!

Love the rodoscoped intro! Reminds me of Hotel Dusk and Last Window!

The transition from Saturday to Sunday watching a new gamesack episode is just 🛐
I worked in the same building as Sega in the early '00s, and they let us go up and play the Planet Harriers they had in the lobby whenever we wanted.
Desert Breaker did get included in the "Astro City Mini V "-miniconsole, so it's not entirely left in the arcade.
Love the ode to Aha’s video “Take on me” in the intro
that first games soundtrack sounded AMAZING
Great video as always. Love that intro too.
Fresh new year and the freshest of fresh new GameSack.....ah....smells super fresh.
Hey Joe, I haven’t binged your stuff in a while. It’s really cool to check in every now and then and see you’re still going great. Love the channel!
These are my favorite episodes I think.
My cat kept looking at my laptop when that cat racer was meowing. Must be a pretty authentic sound effect!
I love the new intro. Kudos to the artist!
Planet Harriers was big time favorite of mine. I used to play it in Vegas at Fao Shwarts toy store on the third floor.
Awesome intro for the 2024 sack season 😮
God I missed this channel. Only took me three lunch breaks to finish, too. Thanks Joe.
That new take on me style intro is absolute fire. I love it.
Scud Race is the game I've put the most money into in the arcades. I can't believe that it never came home. Thank you Super Model!
There was a tech demo for Scud Race/Sega Super GT shown during Dreamcast presentation closed doors in 1998.
Wow I'd love to get my hands on that build.

Dang, 10 episodes in and still some really interesting titles. Really goes to show how poplar arcade games were before home consoles took off.
Spikeout is basically Streets of Rage 3D. And it has surprising amount of depth to its combat! A seriously underrated series. I've never seen it in real life and have only played it through Supermodel.
Scud race graphics absolutely blew me away at the time. Would love top skater. Had a sequel called air ride? I think.
I wish some of those arcade racing games would show up in a compilation pack, I'd buy it day one. These games still look good today and we don't get many good arcade racers.
Love the consistency of this channel. Can always come back and find new content to go through. Thanks!
I LOVE THE NEW INTRO!! Keep up the great work Joe! Thanks to this series I've found many new games to play with the boyz!

I wasn't aware of the samples on Silent Dragon before this (and I like the music too)... blatant samples, but that was how it was in the 90s. "Hey!"
The new intro looks awesome! There are so many games listed here that I still wish got released on console, like SCUD Race, and I had no idea about Planet Harrier! Another excellent episode, Joe!
