I don't understand why people are so quick to criticize other people's work. Who cares how someone else does it just as long it turns out right. Everybody has there own way of doing something. I think you are doing a good job, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching my videos, we only backroll over drywall plasterboard. I too believe a spray finish looks better on cars, metal and many others things. Firstly, because it says on the drywall manufacturers installation guidelines to backroll. Backrolling pushes the paint into the surface rather than just it sitting on top. If it sits on top it doesn't adhere properly, and can and will peel off later down the track, and you see the fresh plasterboard when it does. I have some paint peeling videos as well which shows this exactly. Another big aspect is if you are spraying the whole house what happens if the paint spits onto a surface before/after a blockage how could you fix that? If your backrolling thats no problem, you just roll it right out. Also if the sprayer puts it on too heavy or to light, the backroller controls the finish where if its too heavy he can roll his roller out somewhere else to get rid of the excess and continue on. Once the job is finished and the ceilings lets say are sprayed and the last coat is not backrolled. If there is a defect from an electrician lets say, its very hard to blend a sprayed finish once your spray gun is packed up and time has gone by. whereas if it was rolled, a roller could easily blend it as well as can be. Not back rolling is just time saving. So many people don't backroll because these days builders only pay peanuts and the pay doesn't allow. Hence why I don't do new work. Watch ua-cam.com/video/tNoN9Iv9ZZU/v-deo.html for another airless spray video!
Might be different in the uk but in nz and aus sealer is easy to sand so because we sand everywall it doesn't matter if it spits. and we only spray the first 2 coats last one is sprayed and rolled so you don't have and problem with touch ups.
Hello everyone. I am not here to criticize. Good job fellows. I have been doing this 35 years now and am so glad they came out with airless sprayer. In the first few years when I started I had to roll everything. The worst thing about rolling the drywall sealer is that it dampens the mud portion and if ur not very careful you can get blistering I call it. Roller grabs little flakes of mud and then you have issues. I personally only spray drywall sealer for that very fact. Cheers have a great paint
I've been painting for 20 years and this is industry standard 👌🏽 It's amazing all the non-painters that come on here and say you're doing it wrong 🤣 Yet they want to hire out they have someone paint their house 😆
I live in the Uk and I loved watching your video. Do you have any tips on best ways to mask around for this type of job? One thing I am really curious about is if using gloss, can you spray paint that straight with an airless or does it need to be thin down.
Thank you for watching my video. Its all for you my man. I appreciate your comment Take your time masking, you don't want to be slowed down when your actually spraying & yes thin down the gloss, I actually thin down any paints i'm doing a finer spray with and avoid the temptation of spraying too thick. However in this video I didn't thin down the wallboard sealer or ceiling paint.
My clients usually do not like the texture a roller leaves behind and I've tried ultra-smooth rollers (for back-rolling), but what works best are paint pads which take a bit longer, but leave a textureless finish. I've even gone behind other painters and smoothed out the roller texture with drywall mud to get the flat, sheet-of-paper look. You'd be surprised at what some really high-end clients want. I've had to finish sand oil paint and follow up with a flawless finish coat.
hybridamerica nice mate, thanks for watching.. yeah, people don't like much texture, my roller leaves quite a bit of texture. nice to see someone who likes quality, what's the wages like in US?
Do you have to thin out the paint at all? Just curious if you can use paint straight out of the bucket or what the process is for a sprayer. Thanks, Looks like a big time saver for sure.
what's the point to spray if u have to use the roll after the spray.for the past three years I spray every day.i never use roll.and the finish is amazing.
christos choumbavlis well, after you leave and the paint peels off after a few years or the next painter can't touch up a ceiling unless he copies the spray finish. also it's the drywall manufacturer specifications in my country to backroll. it looks great backrolled as well. at least the paint is penetrated into the surface and not just sitting on top.. I've had to fix a lot of ceilings that didn't get undercoated and didn't get backrolled & the paint just peels right off.
+John Adams I agree . We do 3 coats I think I don't need to go so heavy on the first coat. I could probably just do one lap of the cornice instead of the two that I normally do that you see in this video. Thanks for your advice I like to have pros on here
Back rolling makes it a lot easier for the odd touch up required to ceilings.I always just spray sealer then back roll 2 coats ceiling flat.Been spraying that way for 45 years.

May sound a bit silly but is that an undercoat??? Do you then gloss the frames and skirting after spraying as I'm assuming your not spraying the whole room gloss
rob chapman yeah first coat is undercoat, we only spray the undercoat on ceilings and walls and ceilings 2 more coats. the rest is finished by brush and roller. if there is damage on the ceiling we can easily fix the defect and touch up with a roller because we backrolled to begin with.

+Haylie Jensen if it's just one bedroom I probably wouldn't but if it was the whole house without furniture it's a good idea to spray. That's a good question actually Haylie, normally when you spray you just wet the roller up a little bit by spraying in one area and roll it through. To make it wet
+Toby T Hi Toby, We are spraying acrylic (water based) wallboard sealer meant for fresh drywall. We are using 400mm long roller with a 22mm nap. you can use any roller though. Thanks for the question!
backrolling makes sure the paint sticks deeper to the material. If you don't back roll especially ceilings they will start peel off after few years as the spray only sits on top of the fibers.
hey thats some nice clean work you guys are doing!! could i ask what kinda prep you need to do with the paint(water down etc.) and what kind of paints does that machine take ? thanks
+Irish 88 hey thanks very much!, we don't need to do anything with the paint. You can spray any paint out of that machine. That day we were spraying water based undercoat and ceiling paint.
+Stefan Stevic ideally I like to have everything done before I spray. But in this case, the carpenter couldn't get there but the tiler I had to get in before they did. I don't spray the wall colour on the walls but after undercoat if you spray walls then ceiling turns out better... quicker.. Thanks for question and comment
Thank you, great video. Very helpful. My family would like to start our own painting business and I was researching how to paint an entire home faster & better and I stumbled upon your video. How are you advertising your services?? Thank you, Arika H. Leeds, AL
Thanks for watching. Actually we don't advertise. We don't quote either. normally I'm just offered a sum of money which I say yes to. good time to be a tradesperson in Australia
+mgreen945 definitely used primer sealer undercoat. It's a 3 in1 product that has more additives than a ceiling paint that helps it bind to a surface. I don't recommend using a ceiling paint straight on fresh plasterboard or drywall. It may well peel of and become flaky much sooner than if you didn't. Thanks for questions. Any more just ask .. :)
Maxkil hi again so what's your coats system, my way I use 1 undercoat for celling then celling flat, and for walls 1 light undercoat spray no back roll, then medium spray with back roll, then cut and roll.
+mgreen945 I just always backroll every coat. I don't want any build up that you can see later. Pretty strict quality. I know guys that don't backroll at all. I just worry about quality and having too many snags at the end... Hate doing touchups. I just do one sealer and two ceiling coats. All well coated. Then I do two low sheen top coats on walls.
Maxkil a lot of guys around here don't want to backroll, and think you can spray one coat of paint and be done. Then can't figure out why it looks like shit.
Yeah, I just bought a new spray gun last week, & couldn't find a cover to buy anywhere, so now mine has over-spray all over it. buy it from amazon here if your in the States - amzn.to/2vrME8n
back rolling is great on smooth walls, it makes a light stipple helps blend the sand marks from the drywall finish.tricks the eyes .and the tip putting out fingers is 1 of 3 things ,incorrect pressure ,a blown tip or the distance from the wall with the gun.don't hate teach.Lol just my 2 cents.
+DC Motovlogs yeah it's a sheepskin wool roller. Probably at least a 20mm nap. She was a fluffy one. She needed a fine tip off or the pattern would be to rough if you know what I mean
Roller after spray is what you call back-roll. It's a preference for some painters to have a more even finish. Beginners tend to leave uneven spray patterns and some sagging. See how to painter doesn't need to spray that evenly. Experienced spray painters might be able to do with spraying only. But again, I think it's a preference
+Gina Wyatt hi Gina, yes definitely back roll. If you don't the paint won't adhere properly. You should get a sprayer. You can spray a room and back roll it yourself as well. Saves so much time. Good luck with your job.
If there is no furniture it can save heaps of time. Ceilings especially, Always backroll though if you care. Despite what some people say , backrolling is important. Thanks for watching
What would the time difference be do you think between spraying and back rolling, to two guys pressure rolling? Given the guy on the gun needed to wait for the back roller it seems by the time masking is counted it may be faster to pressure roll? The downside of course is that means two machines, but they're not crazy expensive.
+Pete F if the gun was powerful enough you could run the two lines off one gun. Spraying is quicker, the sprayer just needs to stay off the edges and let the backroller spread it evenly. The roller can tell the sprayer if it's too dry. .
Hey :) where in Australia are you located? My family are painting there house at the moment and gosh we would love to hire you guys if your interested? Very impressive work :)
Hi, Thank you for your informative video ,could u please tell me the best possible steps from start to final coats of spraying ? I need to know the right steps starting from ceiling or wall first or woodworks first and then walls or ceiling or other way around . I hope my question is clear enough .cheers.
This is really interesting. If we roll after paint, is the finish will come smooth? Do we need to do this spray and roll for first coat and 2nd coat simple spary. thanks for your video.
+Malla Reddy Choodi my pleasure for the video. I suppose it's not as smooth as just spray, but it's more even, it's slightly textured for touching up later if need be. It's 3 coats. So definitely 1st and last coats should be rolled.

Love the video I've learnt a lot, just a question do you backroll on every coat or just the first coat just about to embark on our new home we are building Also we are building a clad home (hamptons style) if I spray the boards do I backroll them or should I use a brush bare in mind the house is 480sq mtr and the garages are 260sq mtr any recommendations greatly appreciate, I do love painting
Hey Linda, Thanks for watching, really appreciate it. Well we backroll on everycoat, for the normal factors for backrolling and sometimes your gun spits and is sprayed unevenly, this way if you backroll it spreads everything nicely. Last coat especially so it can be touched up. If you watch some of my recent spray/back roll videos you can see more. So back rolling is good for drywall but not the same for everything, i would probably spray the cladding and back brush, so the spray gun is the applicator and you do the final strokes, sounds like a nice place, take your time and enjoy it. keep me posted how its going, comment me for any other questions be happy to share my info with you.
Awesome vids mate, about to buy my first airless sprayer just need to know what tip u use and filter size ? Thanks in advance keep up the videos 👍👍👍👍👍 oh and what pressure ? Cheers
Wesley Walker for ceilings are I use a 517 tip pressure about 1800 that was the sweet spot for my gun last time so just adjust it as you see fit. Unfortunately I don't have an assortment of tips just yet.
Maxkil awesome mate i guess we all just find a way of how to make do. is there a particular paint type that works better with the sprayer ? i was just looking at purchasing the trade bunnings version 15lt ?
Wesley Walker . Yeah , I would go the taubmans ultraprep, or even the tradex wallboard sealer. So the tradex ceiling paint with a couple drops of black is the best ceiling paint I think. It's all I buy in the ceiling paint range.
Thanks for the reply mate, this is my wife's account. I'm looking at a sprayer that is 800w and kicks out 1.25 ltr a min. Would you think that is sufficient to get me going for the odd new build property prob use it once or twice a week to start then get a more heavy duty one in a year or so if it takes off.
+Gina Wyatt yeah that Wagner 90 looks like it will do the job for sure. It handles the bigger jobs. If you treat it well should last you. Wagner make good products. Your in Australia?
Hello. I have a question on which aggregate you work and why after applying the paint with the aggregate you improve with a roller. Thank you in advance for your answer
jan stankiewicz you need to back roller after spraying the reason is that if later on you want to touch ceilings you can do it with a roller and you won’t see the difference, cause if you only spray without rolling and if later on you want to do a touch up you will see the marks of roller you will see the difference, I hope you understand what I mean!!!’
thx a lot! so may i ask, is it correct to do one coat of primer, then 2 coats of paint, and you will use the same technique for the paint? thx in advance!
hellow i don't understand why you are using airless with the roller for white color ?? you can explain??? is a diference in the finish?? I'm doing airless for 8 years and never combined them, or airless... or roller, never combined them just with .. jetroller for the color walls
I have seen other videos showing that bare drywall ceilings (not so much walls apparently probably from the way the paint hangs upside down on ceiling) not back rolled running the risk of having paper delamination issues for the next guy eventually when repainting if the paint is not pushed into the paper fibers (original spray job does not fail and delaminate but the next time painted it may delaminate shortly after). Some builders have in their specs to limit future liability for fixing replacing ceilings because of that.
Couldn't help but notice that the drywall doesn't have but one skimmed over screw head in the middle of the boards . Is there some other way to install it than I am use to. Maybe it's glued ? Also I am a painter and was wondering I do alot of spraying . Is there better results when you hold the sprayer wide open till you finish a section ? I am use to and always squeeze and release on every pass . Just curious . Btw you guys look like you do a good job. Don't let the haters bother ya . Like you said I doubt they have the know how to make a video or may just be embarrassed to show their work if they actually get any !!
Phillip Mccarter every painting video I have ever watched, there are a ton of haters. People use different techniques, different methods, different applicators. The reason we watch these videos bc it is satisfying to see something being painted. And honestly as long as it gets done, looks acceptable, and you care about your work then you will go a long ways. Thanks maxkil for your vid. Ps still waiting on that video about the customized roller frame 36 inch roller
In Australia we use stud adhesive, as opposed to relying on screw or nail fixings alone... Fixings are at sheet ends, and only at 600 centres until the glue dries. Glue shrinks and pulls the board back to the stud, so you can often skip the middle of the board entirely
this is great ..great quality . back rolling is key for touch ups later on, but back rolling your primer is going beyond . ,, ...but this is how i want my house done ..back roll the primer too fuck it.. hahha and great team work here .this is how you get shit finished ...
Thats a very true. I didnt think theres anything needing to be filled.like stucko different story of course .but true ,the dry wall and the mud also need that extra pressure applied for 100% bondage ..These Floridians..always trying to find the easy way out ...smmhmm .
+joey youandyou2 You be surprised how many people don't believe in backrolling. They should look at their sheetrock manufacturer guidelines. Thanks for watching my friend. Talk again soon
I haven't met one person that back rolls primer. .only back rolling finish coat to prevent flashing later on . "And they say prep is the most important part" theyre already messing up on their first stage of the painting ..ill be sure to bring this up with the guidelines .thank you for your quality of work and time too video and post it. enjoy the easy money to be made in painting .if you know what youre doing ..
+joey youandyou2 thanks mate. Check the guidelines and see what they say. In Australia that's definitely the case. When you compete price with guys that don't do it. It's a shame.
So no cut in? Does it leave “halo’s” ?seems like you would need to spray the corners twice? The stipple from the roller would leave it smooth in the corners? First coat back roll second coat just spray for even look ?
Doyen 86 spraying and back rolling is fastest and best way painting any walls/ceilings because you can just spray quick to apply the paint and back roll it to make it look rolled out and get any lines from the machine that causes shadows
Arnulfo Camacho we bought a flexio paint sprayer to change our current room color. Should we spray the walls and then backroll? I’m trying to figure out if we should roll with 2 coats or spray 1 coat followed by back roll one coat. Some people say they spray 1 coat and then back roll 2 coats
Where are you based? I need to hire a similar machine to paint an old nursing home i bought and an renovating. Which machine is this? Can I hire it? Great vid tho, seen nothing like this, here’s me thinking to get the old paintbrush out! 😂
Oh pretty far... Yeah just head down there and ask for an airless spray gun... You won't need a big rig, small one will do you fine. Try make your hose long enough so you don't have to move around too much. Let me know how it goes... Any questions you know where to find me..
Great question, so many people don't do it but its essential. Without giving a technical answer, 1.Backrolling works the paint into the surface, so its not just sitting on top where it can peel off later. 2.By backrolling you can ensure the paint that's applied is spread evenly, if its sprayed on heavy it can be worked into areas where its needed. 3. Once it has the "orange peel" roller effect, its easier to touch up if its ever needed. Thanks for watching & thanks for the question!
+andrew beaudry it's the bonding agents that you might find in the primer that won't be in other types of top coats. Useful for adhesion for the surface and the top coats.
I don't understand why people are so quick to criticize other people's work. Who cares how someone else does it just as long it turns out right. Everybody has there own way of doing something. I think you are doing a good job, keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot Adam,
Yeah that goes on quite a bit
Exactly! There’s more than one way to get the job done!

The real reason is so you touch up any wall or ceiling with a roller instead of respraying.
+Eamon Toner yeah that's one of the good reasons

R. R. Why do you roll back? I need to paint me house and thinking about buying a sprayer.
Texture and touch ups
@@CR-tx8iv totally man, im just doing a new video f what happens when you dont backroll, check it out
You don't backroll the first coat numpty. Your taking paint off the wall. When it drys it will be bare

I'm glad to see the back roll. I have had to fix painters trying to just spray without the back roll and it feels like 80 grit sand paper.
totally, you know how many people on here don't want to backroll

100% approve of this method. Always best to back role. Not necessary on Sheetrock unless you have spray lines.
+Tyler Burke nah the sheetrock manufacturer wants you to do it. It's written by them in their code

Why you are doing rolling operation after spray paint.
Backrolling, helps paint stick and not just sit on the surface
shashidhara N rolling makes it smoother as a whole
Yeah very true. Thanks for watching
Backroller is best for finish. Only down side is when you spray ceilings. Use a gun extension.

Is this the method you'd use for repainting a bedroom? Probably a stupid question but do you roll the roller in paint before you go over it? Thanks!
+Haylie Jensen if it's just one bedroom I probably wouldn't but if it was the whole house without furniture it's a good idea to spray.
That's a good question actually Haylie, normally when you spray you just wet the roller up a little bit by spraying in one area and roll it through. To make it wet
Good vid. Is it normal to have someone laying it off with a roller after? I'm a decorator and looking at getting a sprayer just wondering.
Without rolling it you'd see the lines when it dries
+chukob5 yeah that's right, also spreads it out evenly. It amazes me that half of people think you shouldn't roll it.
Thanks for joining the convo
Great vid, do you have to back roll the next coat too? or is it mainly for the initial coat to get a good bond on the plaster?
Luke R yeah that's right, but also the final coat so it can be touched up easier with a roller.
What kind of paint is that?
Are you spraying latex paint? also, what type of roller are you back rolling with?
+Toby T Hi Toby, We are spraying acrylic (water based) wallboard sealer meant for fresh drywall. We are using 400mm long roller with a 22mm nap. you can use any roller though. Thanks for the question!
+Maxkil Decorators maybe it was a 500mm roller
interested in the cover sleeve for the hose. i like keeping my stuff clean lol
How big is your roller and where can I get something like that?
I can't find one that size.
Thanks
it is a 460mm or 18" roller, from some hardware stores, professional paint stores, ebay/amazon should also list them
backrolling makes sure the paint sticks deeper to the material.
If you don't back roll especially ceilings they will start peel off after few years as the spray only sits on top of the fibers.

+Irish 88 hey thanks very much!, we don't need to do anything with the paint. You can spray any paint out of that machine. That day we were spraying water based undercoat and ceiling paint.
for the best application it's best to smoke a joint b4 spraying
Broward County I'm going to go ahead and agree with you on that.
lol awesome ;)
Maxkil yep
So many homes and businesses need House Painting info to keep them in good shape.
How come you spray before timber is done?
I would spray walls before ceilings ;)
+Stefan Stevic ideally I like to have everything done before I spray. But in this case, the carpenter couldn't get there but the tiler I had to get in before they did. I don't spray the wall colour on the walls but after undercoat if you spray walls then ceiling turns out better... quicker.. Thanks for question and comment
Beautiful video, nice job
Thank you, great video. Very helpful. My family would like to start our own painting business and I was researching how to paint an entire home faster & better and I stumbled upon your video. How are you advertising your services??
Thank you,
Arika H.
Leeds, AL
Thanks for watching.
Actually we don't advertise. We don't quote either. normally I'm just offered a sum of money which I say yes to. good time to be a tradesperson in Australia
Brilliant work Miles better doing it this way
Hey for the celling did you use any undercoat sealer or straight celling paint?
Yeah, I've had so many people comment to me about backrolling.
Even some proper pro's don't think they need to..
what kind of plastic product do you use for around your hose? genius
thanks,
Yeah, I just bought a new spray gun last week, & couldn't find a cover to buy anywhere, so now mine has over-spray all over it. buy it from amazon here if your in the States - amzn.to/2vrME8n
Dont you think you could of used a wand attachment instead of standing directly underneath all that over spray?
ChUnK mAsTeR fLeX haha, yes . I wished I had a wand, the ceilings were too high as well. Your 100% correct.
Nice video What kind of airless paint gun are used?
back rolling is great on smooth walls, it makes a light stipple helps blend the sand marks from the drywall finish.tricks the eyes .and the tip putting out fingers is 1 of 3 things ,incorrect pressure ,a blown tip or the distance from the wall with the gun.don't hate teach.Lol just my 2 cents.
hmm nice idea with the spray paint and rollers... paint was easily distributed as seen after the rollers passes through it
+Teefachii yeah, you'd be surprised the amount of people who think that's not important.
what roller cover/ nap are you using to backroll? looks like wool.
+DC Motovlogs yeah it's a sheepskin wool roller. Probably at least a 20mm nap. She was a fluffy one. She needed a fine tip off or the pattern would be to rough if you know what I mean
Why use the roller after the spray? Isn't it smooth already? What if i over spray on top of existing painted white walls . do i need to rollover?
Roller after spray is what you call back-roll. It's a preference for some painters to have a more even finish. Beginners tend to leave uneven spray patterns and some sagging. See how to painter doesn't need to spray that evenly. Experienced spray painters might be able to do with spraying only. But again, I think it's a preference
It helps the paint stick to the surface by pushing it into the pores. Also can touch up with the roller later with the same pattern
Not if you're good. No backroll needed
@@edchaos2679 the drywall manufacturers state, you must backroll.
Also the tapers will thank you for it.
@@Maxkil considering our family was the largest drywall company in north America I have to call bullshit
What about oil paint, can we spray doors and use back roll and brush? Does it work and shows good?
Henry Salehi I wouldn't if your spraying oil on doors. you could tip it off with a brush. but the finish should be good without it.
The guy with the roller, before he starts rolling, does he coat it with something or does he just start rolling with it dry?
+sebyy25 yeah pretty much dry mate.
+sebyy25 yeah pretty much dry mate.
+sebyy25 yeah pretty much dry mate.
Sorry just seen all the comments on rolling, but would you recommend back rolling on new plaster?
+Gina Wyatt hi Gina, yes definitely back roll.
If you don't the paint won't adhere properly.
You should get a sprayer. You can spray a room and back roll it yourself as well. Saves so much time. Good luck with your job.
Hey what spray gun is that you using?
+Nuke Lee . Hi Mate, I think it was a "695 ultra max II".
I just hired it for the day.
youre getting fingers and tails in your spray pattern change your tip on increase the pressure just a tip
i spray for a company
+your lastday nice mate, well if you backroll those lines get evened out. So don't worry bro chill homie
Cool video. When should you use a sprayer, when should you use a roller and when should you use both?
If there is no furniture it can save heaps of time.
Ceilings especially,
Always backroll though if you care.
The roller can tell the sprayer if it's too dry. .
Ok thanks
Hey :) where in Australia are you located? My family are painting there house at the moment and gosh we would love to hire you guys if your interested? Very impressive work :)
+=maNda= Hi, thanks for your kind words. We are near Gold Coast & Brisbane. But can work anywhere.
if it's flat and on new construction, I'm going in there with a 1221 for shooting the primer then maybe a 621, but prolly stay with 1221 no backfiring
What are the differences? I'm trying to learn
I normally spray when the frames are in as well
Nisar Akbari yeah saves you time. Nice one

Love the video I've learnt a lot, just a question do you backroll on every coat or just the first coat just about to embark on our new home we are building
Also we are building a clad home (hamptons style) if I spray the boards do I backroll them or should I use a brush bare in mind the house is 480sq mtr and the garages are 260sq mtr any recommendations greatly appreciate, I do love painting
If anybody know can yall tell me the name brand of that sprayer please thanks
Wagner
Maxkil there's so many sprayers out there i have the option of spending $450 or $1100 which will last for years to come.
Wesley Walker . Yeah , I would go the taubmans ultraprep, or even the tradex wallboard sealer. So the tradex ceiling paint with a couple drops of black is the best ceiling paint I think. It's all I buy in the ceiling paint range.
What city you in?
excellent work. good video..👍
+william garcia Thank you for saying it makes me enjoy doing my job more
Hi, I noticed you're from Australia, as I am....could you please come and paint my new home in Melbourne? hehe....great job! great video!!
darepow we definitely could. It may cost a little extra for flights. I have a really good team right now.
Would you back roll on a pre painted ceiling or only on a new one
Would the paint still stick if you spray on a pre painted one with out back rolling
Back rolling while spraying just smooths the paint out so when it drys its not as rough
nice and clean mate
i do the same thing but our spray paint has tow gun
+Mehdi Hosseini thanks a lot. Where you from?
+Mehdi Hosseini thanks a lot. Where you from?
Men I'm from Australia,brisbane
Your self ?
Thanks for pointing this channel out,Very useful.
does the back roller have paint on it ?
+Joe Schofield nah , he just spreads and lays it off
what paintroll do u use ? can't find in web gj from germany
Is it a special primer or it's finel painting?
Thanks for the reply mate, this is my wife's account. I'm looking at a sprayer that is 800w and kicks out 1.25 ltr a min. Would you think that is sufficient to get me going for the odd new build property prob use it once or twice a week to start then get a more heavy duty one in a year or so if it takes off.
+Gina Wyatt yeah that Wagner 90 looks like it will do the job for sure. It handles the bigger jobs. If you treat it well should last you. Wagner make good products. Your in Australia?
I'm more than happy to watch the paint go on but I draw the line at watching it dry.
what brand and model spray gun are you using in the vid?
I think it was a 695 Ultra Max II. I hired it for 24 hours
Great explanation. Thanks very much for answering that for me
sorry, was it paint or primer?
Primer sealer undercoat. For the first coat
thx a lot! so may i ask, is it correct to do one coat of primer, then 2 coats of paint, and you will use the same technique for the paint? thx in advance!
Is that paint water based?
yes it is
hellow
i don't understand why you are using airless with the roller for white color ??
you can explain??? is a diference in the finish??
I'm doing airless for 8 years and never combined them,
or airless... or roller, never combined them just with .. jetroller for the color walls
This is primer which needs to be backrolled on new sheetrock.
Also helps when having to do any touch ups..
is it nessery to roll after spray
Irfan Enfant yes it is. especially 1st and last coats
very good!!!the roller is 50cm??
Yeah I know, hopefully I will get the chance again to make one. Thanks again your comment is spot on
Always keep the gun trigger squeezed in when you can, this will prevent spitting and save heaps of time and look way better man.
In Australia we use stud adhesive, as opposed to relying on screw or nail fixings alone... Fixings are at sheet ends, and only at 600 centres until the glue dries. Glue shrinks and pulls the board back to the stud, so you can often skip the middle of the board entirely
amazing job...can i get in Nepal?
get what? the spray gun? probably not
The Spray gun...I wanna buy it in Nepal.
How wide is that roller handle?
+Slime Shady haha, I hadn't heard of wooster products in Australia before.
That's is an 18inch roller I think.
15" by the looks of it.
are you painting or priming?
Same thing I thought.
Painting the primer aka sealer aka undercoat.
Good work, I see that the paint hides very well the joints and gives unified color in just one pass, what kind of paint is that ?
The cheapest flat paint you can possibly find. Or PVA primer. Property solutions or promar 700 works well for 1st
Any sprayer suggestions for some just doing 2 rooms. Without thinning the paint
Hey machine order karna hai
this is great ..great quality . back rolling is key for touch ups later on, but back rolling your primer is going beyond . ,, ...but this is how i want my house done ..back roll the primer too fuck it.. hahha and great team work here .this is how you get shit finished ...
+joey youandyou2 thanks man....
I rekon that the first coat is most important to backroll. It pushes the paint into the pores of the board
+Lance Litvinoff yeah mate it does halo first time around. So we backroll every coat. 3 coats over everything.
Great video...good job..
hi there great vid / what size tip was u using
hoodie scum , thanks mate. Not too sure what size it was now I'm sorry
cheers man
Do you only back roll when its a new gyprock wall?
Yeah. Pretty much.
So if it's not a new home or drywall you don't need to backroll?
Doyen 86 spraying and back rolling is fastest and best way painting any walls/ceilings because you can just spray quick to apply the paint and back roll it to make it look rolled out and get any lines from the machine that causes shadows
Arnulfo Camacho we bought a flexio paint sprayer to change our current room color. Should we spray the walls and then backroll? I’m trying to figure out if we should roll with 2 coats or spray 1 coat followed by back roll one coat. Some people say they spray 1 coat and then back roll 2 coats
@@Queenjay07 id imagine spray 2x then back roll 1x for the finishing touch
Where are you based? I need to hire a similar machine to paint an old nursing home i bought and an renovating. Which machine is this? Can I hire it? Great vid tho, seen nothing like this, here’s me thinking to get the old paintbrush out! 😂
I'm based in Australia. I will come paint for you
Maxkil oh haha, i’m based in the UK. Any advice on what to hire? Here, we have Screwfix and HSS hire.
Oh pretty far... Yeah just head down there and ask for an airless spray gun... You won't need a big rig, small one will do you fine. Try make your hose long enough so you don't have to move around too much. Let me know how it goes... Any questions you know where to find me..
This machine have in dubai
@@Maxkil where u from bro
What's the main reason for back rolling
Great question, so many people don't do it but its essential. Without giving a technical answer,
1.Backrolling works the paint into the surface, so its not just sitting on top where it can peel off later.
2.By backrolling you can ensure the paint that's applied is spread evenly, if its sprayed on heavy it can be worked into areas where its needed.
3. Once it has the "orange peel" roller effect, its easier to touch up if its ever needed.
Thanks for watching & thanks for the question!
Always Something new to learn Thanks
What's the difference between ceiling paint and primer ?
+andrew beaudry it's the bonding agents that you might find in the primer that won't be in other types of top coats. Useful for adhesion for the surface and the top coats.
By ceiling paint you mean flat paint? It can also be used for primer
+Timothy Lucero yeah ceiling paint is flat paint. Your undercoat has no sheen and is flat as well. But the still have different properties
Do you use PVA?
+Lance Litvinoff no we don't. Just a good quality wallboard sealer. Its probably the same thing.
we do that since many years such like this. but for this you need big size projekts.

It's called back rolling it's pretty common actually .. LoL 😂
Yeah you would be surprised people thinking I'm a bad painter because I need to backroll...
CAn you use a regular roller or do you prefer a type of roller
