That will leave over spray on ceiling - there will be a slight off color where plastic was not put on ceiling. Also the way he put masking tape on ceiling - it will wick paint up and leave streaks under tape. Also if you put two coats or more, the masking tape will peel paint... more to it.
Hello The combined tape with plastic foil covered the ceiling so no overspray went onto the ceiling. Any overspray in the atmosphere will naturally go down rather than up. With good quality masking tape you can do multiple coats of paint and peel it off with no problem. Kind Regards the WAGNER DIY Team.
Beautiful work. Sir im.gonna paint my house with high ceiling ..can we still.use air spray when the house have furniture. Of course I will cover them.up. any recommendation thank
Hello Lexander As can been seen in the video spraying is so much quicker than rolling provided you do the masking. When you are applying so many coats of paint as in this example going from bare plaster, the speed of spraying really speeds up the process. Regards the WAGNER DIY Team
My brother-in-law brought me the Wagner 130 to paint the interior doors of my house. It came with the 515 nozzle. He also purchased the 311 nozzle so I used it first. When I used 311 to spray the doors using a satin water based paint it always seem to get clogged up and there would be a single narrow spray stream on the left side while the other side had a nice wide even stream. I then removed the 311 and install the 515 but it seemed to have a lot of over spray. Would the 311 nozzle I was using be defective?
Hey Happy Places! Sorry to hear you are having difficulty. Actually the 311 is the ideal tip for spraying woodwork and achieving a fine finish - as long as the paint is properly prepared! And yes the 515 will almost definitely allow too much paint through as it is designed for covering large areas like spraying walls. A few things to check: dilution - start around 5-10%, you want a cream like consistency that runs off the stirrer; temperature - keep the paint as warm as possible (don't leave outside and then spray!); strain - it's advisable to pass the paint through a sieve if you are having problems with blockages; re-clean your tips to remove any dried on paint (try Wagner TipClean!). Proper mixing, dilution and not spraying cold paint should achieve perfect results. Please let us know how you get on.
The painter was not holding the spray gun an even distance from the surface. This would result in uneven thicknesses of paint on the walls. The spray gun has to be perpendicular to the painting surface in order to get even paint coverage.
I think I would spray the ceiling and cut / roll the walls. By the time you cover the ceiling with plastic and set up the sprayer you could have cut the walls and rolled them.
Hi guys! Thanks for your question. In this instance the walls and ceilings were getting their first coat with the same material - no need to wait for the paint to dry, they were just done in one go. If you are not changing material but need to wait for paint to dry for any reason then just de-pressurise the sprayer and leave the spray gun in a bucket of water to stop the tip from drying out. Then when you come back to spraying you are ready to go! If you are changing colours then you will need to go through the full cleaning process (which only takes a few minutes!). Regards - The Wagner DIY Team.
just use trim against the ceiling instead of masking when you get good at it you can leave a few mill and cut it in after then roll it off. save an hour faffing about with plastic and tape.
@@infiniti2015 trim is a piece of plastic with a straight edge that you can hold against a surface so that paint cant go past it. you can use anything really, cardboard if you want to. as long as it has one straight edge that you can put to the surface.
Been running a airless past 15 years straight everyday and u def need a back roll specially color changes!! Them managers and owners get a look 👀 from the side and see nothing but lines and brush strokes from t/up smh but salute to my fellow painters I feal your pain lol
I get that PROs benefit from an airless sprayer, but for someone with a couple of rental properties, considering the required "back roll" and all of the added taping time and cost, do you think that air spraying is beneficial over traditional rolling? Also, do doors require a roll/brush as well?
@@1966johnnywayne Ive been spraying for over 20 years and I wouldn’t still be able to take care of my family without a airless. If your painting to turn a good profit yearly and not doing shit here and there for beer money a airless is a must for good volume yearly but yes u can spray your doors preferably I would put a couple light coats on your doors so u don’t have any runs and keep from back rolling are having any brush marks period so u have a smooth surface on your doors. I prefer to only back roll walls but not doors and cabinets I rather put a couple light coats to fill in properly with no runs. 3” tip or even a 2” some times for your jams
@@1966johnnywayne Or even spray your doors ceilings baseboards exc and then roll and brush your walls for probably your best route for time wise. All depends on the project but yes can’t stress enough when u have 20 years of airless spraying is def the fastest most profitable way to paint. If your just doing your rental properties just take your airless in there and fan everything if it’s not bad the only paint that don’t touch up correctly is flat paint so try and change over if that’s what u have on the walls and u can honestly go in and do what a old head would say and feather all your walls in and fan your ceiling’s and doors for the spots that’s needed and cut your base for a cheap quick turn
I have a Wagner but I find that when in use the air in the room becomes saturated with micro-droplets of paint so windows and doors also need to be masked. Do you have any tips on how to avoid this from happening?
Hello Frank, to stop overspray with an airless sprayer, maintain a consistent distance of about 30 cm (12 inches) from the surface and keep the gun parallel to the surface. Reduce the spray pressure to the lowest effective setting and use the correct spray tip for the job. Avoid flexing your wrist at the end of each pass, as this can direct the spray into the atmosphere. Practicing on scrap cardboard before starting the actual project can also help you fine-tune your technique. I hope that helps. Kind Regards Wagner DIY
By the time you set the sprayer up. Masking tapped the sockets. Covered the windows. I would of had the room cut in and rolled,😉. And don't forget cleaning out the sprayer when Ur done. I know got 20 years in decorating game,👍
You really have no idea, don't go by what this guy is doing. 2 days to mask and fill take doors off. 4 hours to undercoat and that's on a average 350sq house about a week all up if you doing normal hours.
Pmsl yeah you’ll bomb off infront while I mask what I need to mask and then when you’ve just finished ur 1st coat and are waiting on it to dry you’ll see me spraying on the last coat and sat down eating biscuits and telling ya to Chuck ur brush and roller in the bin cowboy 🤠

Wagner control pro 130 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣...... get this job done the right way? ......... you do realise Wagner is a d.i.y machine don’t you? .... it’s shit ffs lol
Mark is correct - best to do multiple light coats. Spraying is ideal for this as the process is quick and drying time is reduced. Practice on some cardboard to get the machine working properly. Make sure you use the right filter, tip and dilute if necessary. Good luck!
I bought a Wagner pro 350r recently, when I’m spraying my walls it’s not coming out of the tip (517) evenly I’ve washed it and it is alright for a bit but then does the same again, also getting a lot of spray on the end of the gun which is dripping while spraying and going onto the wall, do I need a new tip or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
Hello Jack, it sound like you have particle in the paint, we would recommend pouring the paint through a sieveso that you don't get any particles in the machine which could block it. If the tip does become blocked rotate it 180 degrees, then pull the trigger to remove the blockage. Rotate the nozzle back and continue spraying. Kind Regard WAGNER DIY
Hi, Do you use Primer for new gypsum cardboards, Like Jupol Primer before first color layer? Or do you use Primer to dilute first layer od color insted od water? IS possible to spray Primer, ani if yes 311 or 517? Thanks a LOT.
Hello Maco if you are doing a mist coat primer you can dilute the paint slightly. You can see an explaination about tips on our Professional Contractor channel here: ua-cam.com/video/qWmP1R-VvZg/v-deo.html. Kind Regards the WAGNER DIY
What sort of setting will you recommend?i tried for the first time on n4 and used to much paint for one room??if anyone could help me with this..thanks!!🤪
If you find it is using too much paint then you will need to move the gun faster. 2 light coats that dry quickly are better than applying one heavy coat. The spray pressure should be set so that you get a good fan pattern with soft edges - if you set it too low for your material then you may not get a good finish. The amount of paint used is down to the speed you work at. Hope that helps!
Hi William, we certainly do - using a sprayer on a door is much quicker than brushing or rolling, especially if it's a panel door with any detailed areas. For airless spraying we have different tip sizes that are suitable for different paints. You may want to look into the 208 and 308 tips for spraying wood & metal paint to a fine finish - for example on doors and trim. We hope that helps! Thanks - The Wagner DIY Team.
Overnight works for me but you are better off spraying the walls first and then masking the walls (2.6m film) and then spraying the ceiling. The walls are easier to mask than the ceilings. So the order is skirting boards first, over-spraying on to walls, next day mask skirting boards then spray walls, over-spraying onto ceiling, next day mask walls and spray ceiling. Hope this helps.
When you're spraying the paint, would any of the paint fall back on you? Should I wear goggles? I am new to painting and not sure if I should spray the walls or paint them using a roller. Thanks
Hello yes you can use water and solvent-based paints but we would recommend using water based paints as they are easier to dilute if required and also easier to clean up afterwards. Kind Regards WAGNER DIY.

Do this and you WILL end up with a crap job that can't be easily repaired. Ceiling and wall paints do not take well to masking tape. Because the finish is by spray you can not touch with a brush without it showing. You should... mask, spray sealer to walls and ceiling, sand, spray ceiling first coat, spray wall first coat, sand, spray ceiling second coat and back roll with roller while still wet( this allows you to touch up or repair with brush or roller in the future), brush and roll 2nd coat on walls. If you have to mask the ceiling to cut in do so with as low tack tape as possible (low tack tapes won't support masking plastic or paper plus the weight overspray as shown in this video. Higher tack tapes will damage your ceiling paint. This process takes longer than video shows but is still quicker than brushing and rolling all coats. You MUST finish all coats with a brush of roller when painting interiors.
Did you watch the video Mqc Cjc? He masked the ceiling. Why buy a spray can (different paint type in spray can, colour, sheen matching issues) to fix up repairs you shouldn't have to do anyway. Do you know anything about painting Einstein? Your comment suggests not Einstein!

Kamran Shafiq in my experience most do it yourself types doing this would be beginners at best you can’t touch up a sprayed ceiling without it showing, if you wish to be able to touch it up you have to spray the ceiling & use a roller to layer it off as your going - this is called backrolling it creates a stipple instead of a flat finish this way when/if you touch up you can use a roller & it won’t show up, also the tape doesn’t have to be pushed down super hard, the edge where the two colours meet I’d suggest pushing down the internal edge firmly where the colours meet and softly tack the rest now fold out your film a start tacking the film in the center of the ceiling just put it on very lightly to hold your plastic nothing more as that’s when you will get it pulling the paint off - when doing this on freshly painted ceilings wash your hands thoroughly first & be careful ceilings mark very easily & flat is not washable, as for tape I recommend 3m scotch blue edge lock & 3m pre folded masking film - painter & decorator, 12 years. The best time to remove the tape in freshly painted wall ?, well if it’s finish coat I’d remove it straight after spraying while the paint is still semi wet that way you will get a nice clean line, if you choose to do it once dried you’ll have to run a sharp blade along the edge of the tape otherwise when you remove the film/tape you will get a jagged edge/paint could peel with the tape, my preference is to remove it straight after spraying final coat that way you eliminate any chances of tearing/jagged edges where you now have to cut a line free hand.

Hello you are best to remove the tape before it is completely dry. The quality of the masking tape does make a difference. I am pleased you like the product. Kind Regards the WAGNER DIY Team
Hello Zac, the number of coats you apply obviously depends on the surface that you applying them onto as this has been sprayed onto a bare plaster it required a minimum of two coats. If you were covering a strong colour you would also need two coats we some surfaces and paint types you can use just one coat. With spraying the coats are so quick to apply. kind Regards the wAGNER DIY team

I saw him do it a lot as a boy'. I'm gonna have to watch more youtube. I became a nurse hahaha Wish me luck! I invested in 3 townhouses and I got this!
Good luck Man!
Great stuff! Really enjoyed watching that video
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Kind Regards WAGNER DIY
It wont i do this and its fine
EXCELLENT VIDEO
but the Background NOISE is way too FAST and Annoying...
Beautiful work. Sir im.gonna paint my house with high ceiling ..can we still.use air spray when the house have furniture. Of course I will cover them.up. any recommendation thank
Yes, definitely no problem at all. Kind Regards the WAGNER DIY Team
I spray the ceilings and brush/roll the walls. Best and fastest of both worlds
Hello Lexander As can been seen in the video spraying is so much quicker than rolling provided you do the masking. When you are applying so many coats of paint as in this example going from bare plaster, the speed of spraying really speeds up the process. Regards the WAGNER DIY Team

@@WAGNERUnitedKingdom Inconsistent overlapping. 5% - 85% in any given area in this video.
Can I use THIS Sprayer to paint a House?
You made it look so easy 👍🏻
It was, thank you. Kind Regards Wagner DIY
Anyone know where i can get the proper adapter for that inline filter? i bought one but its not 1/4 in fittings
The painter was not holding the spray gun an even distance from the surface. This would result in uneven thicknesses of paint on the walls. The spray gun has to be perpendicular to the painting surface in order to get even paint coverage.

@@kumainkana3576 LMAO 🤣🤣
How wide was the poly sheet you used for the ceiling? People say the full ceiling will need sheeting up as it can get a outline of the wall colour?
Hello The sheet was approximately 60-90 cm wide this should be sufficient to protect the ceiling while spraying the walls. Kind Regards Wagner DIY
I think I would spray the ceiling and cut / roll the walls. By the time you cover the ceiling with plastic and set up the sprayer you could have cut the walls and rolled them.
If you want to spray a paint Primer to the walls before painting them?
If you do the ceiling first. Do you have to clean the sprayer since it will take an hour or two until the walls are dry and you can begin again?
What do you mean by trim?

Beautiful!
By the time you set the sprayer up. Masking tapped the sockets. Covered the windows. I would of had the room cut in and rolled,😉. And don't forget cleaning out the sprayer when Ur done. I know got 20 years in decorating game,👍
I'll race you
You really have no idea, don't go by what this guy is doing.

Lol nah man Wagner is trash
Mark is correct - best to do multiple light coats. Spraying is ideal for this as the process is quick and drying time is reduced. Practice on some cardboard to get the machine working properly. Make sure you use the right filter, tip and dilute if necessary. Good luck!
@@Dusk0nerSA What is better then.

Question, after you painted how long before you, and the family were back in the house?
2 days if everything was sprayed would be good safe time
Hello Ken, all the paints used on this job are water based so once everything is properly dry it safe. Kind Regards The WAGNER DIY Team.

Would you recommend using sprayers on doors and trim?
Hi William, we certainly do - using a sprayer on a door is much quicker than brushing or rolling, especially if it's a panel door with any detailed areas. For airless spraying we have different tip sizes that are suitable for different paints. You may want to look into the 208 and 308 tips for spraying wood & metal paint to a fine finish - for example on doors and trim. We hope that helps! Thanks - The Wagner DIY Team.

how long does the ceiling paint need to dry before you can mask it to do the walls?
Overnight works for me but you are better off spraying the walls first and then masking the walls (2.6m film) and then spraying the ceiling. The walls are easier to mask than the ceilings.
So the order is skirting boards first, over-spraying on to walls, next day mask skirting boards then spray walls, over-spraying onto ceiling, next day mask walls and spray ceiling. Hope this helps.
When you're spraying the paint, would any of the paint fall back on you? Should I wear goggles? I am new to painting and not sure if I should spray the walls or paint them using a roller. Thanks

can you use regular water-based paint with a spray gun?
Hello yes you can use water and solvent-based paints but we would recommend using water based paints as they are easier to dilute if required and also easier to clean up afterwards. Kind Regards WAGNER DIY.
That must be magic tape every time I use tape it pulls the paint off so where can I buy it from and what’s it called, noticed you only sprayed the walls once is one coat enough or is this for demo purpose only. I have just bought a Wagner paint sprayer to do the front room just wondering if you have to seal the door to stop paint dust particles going around the house.
Use a razor knife and cut the paint along the edge of the tape.
Use frog tape mate go for yellow one if possible
Don't let the paint cure. take the tape off when it is fresh.
Use better preparation on the wall. If the Paint Comes off with tape the Paint doesnt stick on the wall

Show de máquina quero uma 👏👏
But u dont put tape over painted area Einstein
U can buy spray can for repair too-Einstein
Did you watch the video Mqc Cjc? He masked the ceiling. Why buy a spray can (different paint type in spray can, colour, sheen matching issues) to fix up repairs you shouldn't have to do anyway. Do you know anything about painting Einstein? Your comment suggests not Einstein!

No, you let the old color mix with the new color so you get a new superior color.
Hi Carlos, yes you will need to go through the cleaning procedure to change colours.

Hi Ken, this is not an essential step in all applications.
Thanks for your video.
You are very welcome, thank you for your feedback.
Whens the best time to remove masking tape on freshly painted wall also stopping it from peeling off freshly paint wall
Special masking tape, even if it pulls of paint just touch up ceiling
While the paint is still wet! This is critical! Also, use frog tape to prevent bleeding.
Smooth and crisp painted room. I'll just pay this guy to paint my house. The worst part of painting is all that prep work, SMH! 🤷😂
