IDK if i'm talking some cr*p but for the average player the very endgame content is too hard to reach i.e. Sirus. builds to beat the atlas to the point of reaching sirus are more than often too expensive for someone who plays 8-10 hours per week. Any insights on that?

For SC mapping freeze & curse flasks were my bare minimum (some bosses & shocking ground map mod can be addressed via flask switch) for a long time. But delve... Delve is another story. It literally forced me to learn/use pantheon powers & flasks properly.

does blocking without glancing blows put on hit effects on cooldown though? like kintsugi or trickster nodes? It really sucks that information is hidden, ive been building wrong for the last leagues cuz of this since according to wiki even if you block it counts as getting HIT
This game is so complex, especially if you're new, it's actually discouraging to me. I don't think I'll ever have any idea what 90% of the past league mechanics do
You just got to dive into it. So rewarding and you get that sense of an open horizon time and time again. That moment "Oh, this totally makes sense!" all the time!
How are you faring 1 month later? I've been at maps for a week now.. starting to learn slowly. Its incredibly overwhelming but I come to grips with not needing to know everything right away.
It's not that I don't appreciate the effort or the knowledge of an author but this guide probably should be around 20-30 mins long. I would recommend wiring a plan for your lecture beforehand and sticking to it. It would really help.
Hi Ziz, the phys reduction number from armour isn't lying to you. The limit of 1/10 of the Damage being blocked isn't some artificial value set by GGG but a mathematical necessity of the formula used to calculate the damage reduction. The damage blocked can be calculated by D*A/(A+10*D), an in the limit of infinite incoming damage, that corresponds to A/10 (D being Damage and A being Armour). So the point of confusion is in the fact, that GGG considers some random average phys Damage number to calculate the reduction, not the 1/10 thingy.
In DA/(D(A+10)), you are showing a very small mitigation %. So, if the base hit was 1000 and you had 30000 armour, it would be: (1000×30000)/(1000×30010) = 30000000/30010000 = .9996667... So, does that mean 30k armour would mitigate 0.04% or 99.96%? Basically, that formula can't be right, either way.
@@MrDanielWP The reduction Value is A/(A+10*D) not A/(D(A+10)) ... therefore for 30k Armor and 1000 Damage you get 30000/(30000+10*1000) = 0.75 that is 75% reduction. Or when you multiply that by 1000 Damage it means 750 damage is mitigated.

D*A/(A+10*D) = DA/(10D+A) So, it would be (1000×30000)/((10×1000)+30000) This new formula you just gave is A/(10D+A), so: 30000/((10×1000)+30000)= 30k/40k = 0.75 Which is it DA or A? Is 30k Armour 75% Physical dmg reduc? Not according to my tooltip in game or PoB Fork.

Taking the newer formula, if the damage was 2k instead of 1k, is would be: 30000/((10×2000)+30000 = 30k/50k = 0.6 = 60%. So, the larger the hit you take, the less effective armour is. If we did the original formula: 2000x30000/((10×2000)+30000 = 60000000/50000 = 1200 = 120000% So, you would mitigate more than 100% of phys damage, which can't be right. None of the listed equations can be right.
@@MrDanielWP That was the Mistake i referred to. In the D*A case i calculate the Damage that was mitigated, 750 in my example. When i don't multiply by D it is the ratio of damage that would be mitigated, in my example 0.75 or 75%. Dont mix up both formulas, they calculate different things. And indeed the damage reduction DOES scale with the incoming damage, that is the exact reason why the % phys reduction shown in the character screen is a little missleading, since it is calculated according to an unknown damage number assumed for the mobs you are engaging. With 30k Armour the reduction would be 97% at 100 Damage (97 flat damge), 75% at 1000 damage (750 flat damage) and 60% at 2000 damage (1200 flat Damge) Now Assume the absurd number of 1 billion incoming damage. Than you would get a damage reduction of 0.0002999991%, Multiply that by the damage of 1 billion damage and you get 2999,991 flat damage mitigated. This now is really close to 1/10 of your Armour.
But how in the world can you reach 30k ES??? I did all I could to get ES with shavs, sin trek, bated breath auras etc and the most I ever got with passives, jewels, and ES on gear was 9k
Mana Guardian. You ascend as a Guardian, stack maximum mana up the wazoo, use the jewels that convert something else into mana, then take all the nodes and items that add ES based on your mana; optionally use Shaper's Touch as well. You end up with anywhere between 4000-6000 *base* ES from that, which gets multiplied further by the bonus from Intelligence (and Strength if using Shaper's Touch) and % increased maximum ES. It's a very, _very_ expensive build (easily hundreds of exalts), but potentially the most tanky in the current meta. Then you just throw some minions at it, and you get passable clearspeed without any actual investment into damage. Here's an example of some build (not mine) from Harvest with 29k ES: poe.ninja/harvest/builds/char/LoLuches/LarrysAura You can stack over ~20k as some other classes, too; Hierophants, Tricksters, and Occultists have some decent ascendancy passives that help the overall count. But for the most part this is the Guardians' territory, and you need some obscene gear to even come close.
I legit just made your harvest Blade Fall build and I've died 90+ times. most of time its to the dumbest shit too like a random pack of blue mobs. but then I go into my brothers influenced T15 map and kill the boss and influencer.... Don't know why this game needs to be like this but makes for a shit experience and I no longer want to play this game because it seams to me every build is more or less the same on the defensive side. My philosophy on games is if I die then its no fun and if I'm limited to do certain thing its also not fun. an example would be if I cant do every map mod in the game without dying then its not worth doing maps. So then its not worth playing the game.

Any anything worth money in drops requires 100+ hours in gearing, crafting, leveling and trying to follow someone's build on ninja is like trying to understand why life only exists on this planet.
