This was informative and very entertaining, enjoyed it a lot. Would it be possible to do a similar thing about sustain for the appropriate methods of regaining your EHP during fights. (Hp regen etc)

Must be cathartic to just do random zoom cuts when you think it's funny. A little loose cannon editing was one of my favorite ways to waste time in film or animation.
This is my first time playing poe and I'm doing it almost completely blind and just trying to take it slow and read as much in game when it comes to skill gems, armor and passives. Honestly this game is great once you realize it isn't as confusing as it looks on the surface. I just finished act 2. I'm running a marauder with a two hand axe and making my way through the skill tree slowly but this game is great. I'm sure in the higher levels I might have my character get a little bricked but for now I'm blasting through crowds and enjoying the game
You won't brick it, later on try to follow a guide on your ascendancy for some kind of build. Following a guide through PoB will help you understand a game even more, you will start to see why you die and why changing this in to that will make you tanker and so on. Of course going blindly a way to go too, but don't let it ruin the experience later, after act 5-6 defences start to matter and the further you go the more apparent it becomes. Good luck on your journey!
although you are absolutely correct I feel it's the post campaign when people hit the wall when they realise thier build doesn't actually work. But I applaud you for making the effort. Most men people Dont including most of the content creators.
This was great and the editing was honestly funny as hell. Really interesting. Trying to run a Witch so seeing what I can do now that most Phys as is gone is very helpful.
I have a lot of questions about these mechanics, and while I learned one or two things, most of this video felt like it was in a different language. A planned, written, and edited one would be amazing to help people understand these mechanics! An example at one point you were talking about 4th vials or something and I had zero clue what any of that was about. I used to think armor was much more effective that what you talked about here.
Fourth vow is a body armour that lets your armour stat apply to chaos damage hits in addition to physical hits. If you really want to learn check out his poe university videos that are much more detailed. If you dont know a term pause the vid and check on the wiki
Learned quite a bit from this - thanks. The config/calcs for looking at specific uber boss abilities was enlightening. Damage conversion discussion was useful. It would be really nice to see some of these glass cannon league starter builds (like hexblast miner for instance) made more tanky through application of some of these principles in a video. Even the "endgame" POB from most content creators has such low mit that they die from any uber skill, a single melee in a t17 etc.
Yeah, they seem to prioritize mapping clear above all else. Like, how fast do you need to be able to run through the mobs in a map? I want to not die when I get to the real fight.
Like the video, but for a new player it would also be useful to mention what the main options for getting a given defensive stat is - eg early on expecting to get resistances from gear, elemental avoidance from passives, late game armor from unique jewels? You mention that endurance charges become really important and that you have 8 of them... but where are they from? Passives/uniques/assendancies/something else? I know I can look them up on wiki, but ideally the video would save me the effort of wiki-ing 8 different things to find the 3 that are accessible from the content I can currently do.
Videos suck for in depth, that's why i normally don't watch them. Also the popular channels (except mathil and captain lance, but expect their stuff to be expensive if it becomes meta) are loud, and I can't easily focus. They're mostly useless as a reference, you have to sit there and hear the blather before the info.
I always value more "how to" videos rather than "do this" videos. I want to understand the game mechanics and make my own decisions even if I'm following a build guide as a baseline. So thank you for this ! Also, kudos to the editor 😂
Bro i swear im brand new to poe less than 2 months of experience. And played melee the little bit i played last league so wanted to try something explody and try sanctum out. So enter hexblast. Bro when i tell you im getting eaten alive by two shots with bosses on every blue roled map... literally just spent 30 minutes googling shit to open youtube and see this man with this gem of a video. Bless you sir. Newbies do exist in POE and we really really really appreciate stuff like this lol
@ciprianpeter7758 bro that fills me with both happiness and depression. The pure vastness of it just makes it the absolute most addicting and also humbling game I've ever played lol. Glad to hear you came back. Hope you have a good league bro
@@jacoblancaster5044 This is like the second league when i'll actually get to proper endgame cause i could never force myself to learn the game before. I look at it as a "training ground" for PoE 2 though. Probably why i'm way more motivated to learn the game more now than before, cause i know PoE 2 will have most of the PoE mechanics the same or almost the same, and i don't wanna go into PoE 2 as a complete noob to not get frustrated from the very beginning :D
@@ciprianpeter7758 A 1000 hour in PoE is called newbie :D. Like you might not be a completly new player but still new in comparison to the range of possibilities in the game.
The specific unique examples were useful when it came to registering penetration, but otherwise I did get a bit lost without re-playing the portion. I'd like to see more options from different starting points of the talent tree...and also am curious as to why the Eradicator has 3 different ways of killing me in 0.1 seconds. I know 75% lightning resist + 4 endurance charges is not amazing, but the sheer speed I kept dying made me more or less give up. I realized in retrospect that I should have used purity of elements and/or an actual resist flask. The shock debuff is nasty as well, so..maybe I kinda know the answer. What caught me off guard was how unavoidable the attacks were. Also, the editing here was actually hilarious.
Max hit for hits. Max recovery power for DOTs. Block/evasions can work for both whether it's block/spell block or evasion/spell suppression but they both _can fail_ to stop a super DOT from melting you and a super hit from oneshotting you. The defense magnifier the _damage immunity chances_ like block or dodge gives is huge, but if you are magnifying shit raw bulk, or shit recovery, it is going to be like 5k max hit / 0.6 (+2.3k to 8.3k) compared to 30k / 0.6 (+20k to 50k). You'd be multiplying the block survival factor by a factor of just 1 since you'd die in one hit or one DOT debuff drain. And yes, a single ignite can burn you into the ground at times.
Really nice how you show explain that you look out for at least 40% avoidance. Would you care to include Petrified Blood as a defense mechanism on a future defenses guide?
I appreciate your video, Ziz. As a new player though, I'm having trouble figuring out the layering... What is the best strategy to layer up? I spent a lot of points in my tree on Life, life leech. I look for armor and life on gear when I upgrade. I'm trying to max my resists, but struggling with that. What else should I be doing?
More examples would help with going out with a character and showing how a one layer lvl 50? 60? whatever player takes hits from some mob (find a lone mob somewhere if possible for the showcase) vs how it looks with a few layers applied just face tanking.
@zizaran, I think we can find a way to visualize defenses for POE in the form of an infographic. Like the one you did for “Is my Item Good?”. We can try to visualize the incoming damage and the numbers (shaper’s ballZ), the mitigation, the different phys and spell damage, etc. Example of the visualization: Player in middle
good stuff, im currently running max block (90 attack and 87% spell) with 95% chance to evade and its feeling very good but when i take a big phys hit or degens, im struggling a lot, is it worth investing in armour even if i wont have that much? maybe like 10-15k if i push it
Hi Zizz, big Hc trade enjoyer. Im a big right side of the tree guy, mainly playing sabo perfect crime shenanigans. Dunno what to do except maxing res, im out of ideas. Would like a video to help folks like me survive in the wilds. Cheers!
You're better off getting one layer that reduces hit frequency and another that reduces hit damage. If you have evasion and block, instead of evasion and armour or evasion and reduced phys%, you will get oneshot more often. You want something that reduces hit frequency down to where you can react before the next hit (by running away most of the time), and then reduce hit size down to the point where you can eat two or three hits in a short time, if you get unlucky.
It's been while since I've played but i feel this league every build needs to build the same types defenses or they get bodied once you reach red maps.
idk what u talking about? i tanked the double atziri flameblasts no prob :D for whatever reason i also tanked the reflect... i even attacked the mirror atziri on purpouse to check it out... i got no reflect dmg reduction and did about 100k phys dmg at that time but i didnt even damage myself :/ any idea why?
Hey, I have been playing one of your builds the ice build where you throw manga balls for many levels, then switch to another fire spell, it all seems so odd, but to be honest, once I switched to Magma ball it's been good. However the armour, I was an idiot, I swear I looked but I did not see :( I started using energy shield items, then I had some gear and I looked again and the builds like no idiot you evade and energy shield, and now I've switched. Let's be fair I'm just in act two I know you completed the whole story on day 1, but that isn't me. I hope as I build up this build it is good to me. Now I did just get a free ice Nova and I wanted to see if I could set that up on mouse button one, but I can't because when I put ice Nove on mouse button one my guy just stands in place and fires off ice nova, so confused. I don't get why not evasion and block? Block would cover you somewhat when you do get hit past evasion.
