I remember it distinctly, and it's why terraria became super popular despite appealing like "2d minecraft"
An explanation for the underground bunnies Gem critters (bunnies and squirrels) spawn when an npc is nearby. However, since it’s Halloween, costume bunnies are replacing the gem critters spawns
@@wildlmao during the month of October the coding of the game changes a lot like pumpkins being more accessible and different spawns of "Halloween themed" creatures and it prioritizes them. One being the costume bunnies. You will still get gem critters but not as often because the costume bunnies would take spawning priority over gem critters and regular critters. So that's why there are a bunch of bunnies spawning in the shimmer because I'm guessing you were doing that part during the month of October.
@@rossGrett It does the same to slimes, and zombies too. Many of the standard simple slimes and zombies are the same NPC just with a different "NetID". This means the halloween versions overwrite any variants, meaning Slimes cannot spawn with items in them (I believe they can't but I'm not 100% sure) and the different zombie types like the arrow or torch ones cannot spawn and thus cannot drop torches.
@@davemiller638 They can only drop from the torch carrying zombies. I feel like I'm in the middle of an unfolding of a Legendary, forever-remembered, Terraria-themed video series... Love this level of creativity and dedication!
Blood Moons have no direct effect on statues. What you are likely referring to is the way that penguin, goldfish, and bunny statues do not check for corrupt/vicious versions of the critters when they activate spawn. This allows ONLY those 3 statues to spawn a near infinite amount (200 npc hardlimit) because the critter they spawn is instantly turned into the corrupt/vicious version (which does not affect the statue spawning). The most efficient critter for this (highest damage) is the goldfish. A similar effect can also be created by repeatedly throwing vile/vicious powder on the statue as it spawns the critters (the powder effect needs to be lingering on the statue right whenever the critter spawns or else they can be killed by their evil versions. Another plus of this strategy is that the statues for critters are much more easily obtained. The only downside of this strategy (other than waiting for a blood moon which isn't that bad) is that it is VERY annoying to replace the enemies. If you leave the timer on all the time, then they will fill up the npc cap and Queen Bee won't spawn, but if you turn it off, Queen Bee will kill of your goldfish pretty quickly. (Also, for the record, mimics DO have more damage than unicorns, and will technically work even better)
Ok so i think I understand why Bee Hives let Queen Bee be damaged by other mobs. Games use "Teams" to keep track of what's an enemy and what's a friend. Bee Hives, like other "traps", can actually damage enemies, but they use their own NPC's to do it, so those NPC's need to be on their own team. Thematically, Queen Bee is also on this team, to prevent her from being attacked by bees. However, the ENTIRE TEAM becomes universally hostile whenever a Bee Hive spawns Bees that are hostile towards an enemy. So Queen Bee can be used to fight *other bosses* using this method, as she's the only boss who is also a Bee.
@@Ircillo15 doesn't really work as she just kills the crystal Sorbet cafe actually just did a challenge run where he only used bees, from hives, hive blocks, queen bee, or just queen bee herself

Worth noting the shimmer bunny farm worked because halloween overwrote the normal gem bunnies with slime bunnies, which turn into normal bunnies when caught. It wouldn't've worked outside halloween.
Sorbet cafe has been using statues to kill queen bee for a while. In fact he's currently doing a queen bee only challenge (in which he only deals damage by summoning queen bee)

I think the most broken thing in terraria is wiring. I have a series on my channel trying to automate the game and i also made a queen bee farm, but i used mimics instead of unicorns. In only 2/3 dashes she dies. (I also made an AFK Daytime Empress farm).
The peace candle doesn't increase friendly critter spawns - It's a direct counterpart to the water candle and decreases ALL spawn rates (including critters) by 23%. The water candle increases ALL spawn rates (including critters) by 33%, so using both only increases spawns by 10% while a water candle alone increases it by 33%. The battle potion also increases ALL spawn rates (including critters) by 100% and is easy to make in pre-hardmode (water bottle, rotten chunk/vertebra, and deathweed). The sunflower works similarly to a peace candle, giving the Happy! buff that decreases ALL spawn rates (including critters) by 17% AND increases player movement speed by 10%. TL;DR If you're going to farm for critters, there's no way (that I know of) to ONLY increase critter spawns without increasing enemy spawns, but the peace candle and sunflower decrease ALL spawns (including critters), making ** the optimal setup for farming bunnies a water candle and a battle potion. **
Queen bee cheese with bees alive is not new, I use this on every challenge playthrough especially my no bullets or arrows ranger getfixedboi playthrough, but I’m glad you are using your channel to show more terraria players, especially newer and uninitiated
3:15 multiple enemies have a spawn condition for you to be moving and for some reason you can just place a shadow candle to prevent that. Really confused on why 1.4 added an afk farming prevention feature and 1.4.4 added an item specifically to circumvent it that you can get pre boss (also obviously minecarts work as well but aren't specifically for that). And if they really didn't want you to afk farm specific enemies they would just make it depend on inputs instead of movement/item usage, which leads me to believe this ISN'T for hindering AFK farms so I really don't understand the point of this at all.
I'm actually pretty glad I found this video in my recommended. A lot of these things I didn't even know were possible. Time to hyperfocus back on Terraria.
Man my mind can't stop thinking about the guy that made a computer inside terraria that can play actual games LIKE INSIDE TERRARIA it really bothers me how a big chunk of the community only cares abt bosses, bosses, weapons, bosses, bosses, bosses. and it especially bothers me when ppl describe terraria as just a boss rush game. most ppl do not see the insane potential this game has in every category whether it's building , wiring, just fucking around even, and EVEN combat itself. this is a sandbox game with rpg element and boss progression, not an rpg with sandbox elements, the difference is surprisingly pretty big but ppl don't notice the best compairason between this and minecraft is most ppl who play minecraft consistently for years know at least some basic building or at least they TRY to dare i say a lot of them become decent builders by 100-200hrs even, meanwhile thousands of terraria players have over 1k hrs in this game and still don't know how to build anything but a showbox and barely know anything abt how wiring work past the existing traps, ya ik it's two different games and i hate the comparaison between them as well but it is annoying how ppl dumb down this game to boss fights and undermine everything cool bc look bosses (this is the same reason i don't like the modding scene as much as other ppl) this is not touhou guys 😭 so ya i love seeing this game being pushed to its limit :3
Thats because terraria sandbox features are really limited by a 2d space. The two things you mentioned, building and wiring, are vastly inferior to the direct counterpart. Its simply not that interesting compared to minecraft, there isnt enough depth for more people to be interested in it. Lets be real though, this is just some quirky "pick me" thing.
Dare i say i think the amount of people who prefer rpg type games are more plentiful than those who prefer sandbox games, so when someone gets a taste of terrarias rpg elements its so good that people forget its also a sandbox game or just don't care. If terraria's rpg gameplay was weaker there would be a lot more people who appreciate the sandbox elements but SIGNIFICANTLY less players overall.
im gonna be honest i completely agree with everything but the part about minecraft players getting good at building. over 99% of players dont know jack shit about redstone, and id be willing to bet that most people haven't built much more than wood and stone brick type houses. The players that get creative and make good builds are great at what they do, and there is a lot of them, but they put in a LOT more time than a large majority of minecraft players, and they only make up a very small percent of players. I completely agree with everything else though, and now instead of trying to teach people how amazing and complex terraria is, I've just accepted that sometimes they're lost causes and you can't fix stupid.
@theultimaterat315 fair i kinda based that part specifically about my friends instead of the actual community so it ended up as a weak point and you're completely right on what you said
As someone who's never played terraria till a week ago and still haven't killed there first boss this is so cool watching someone kill a boss with rabbits and statues xD loving the series
Here’s (maybe) an idea to use for something. Player I-frames can get a little convoluted at times, but here are the main things to know for this idea. Different damage types have different priorities (if the happen during the same frame, which instance of damage will the player actually take?) and fall damage is at the top of this priority ranking. There are also some unique I-frame counters (lava and spikes) and local I-frames (Moon Lord’s laser and Daytime Empress of Light. The two final things to know here are that fall damage will ignore I-frames if the player is immune when taking it, but will always still cause I-frames, and taking 1 damage will only cause 20 frames of immunity whereas any damage 2+ will cause 40 I-frames. It’s not too difficult to create a hoik loop to cause the player to take fall damage often enough that they are always immune (if you take 2 damage every fall), in which the player is completely immune to (basically) everything else.
@@Izzythemaker127 Yeah, I guess I could’ve worded it better, but I forgot the actual name for it. “Local I-frames” = special I-frames. Afaik, only Moon Lord’s laser and all of daytime Empress of Light have these. Me and a friend used this to cheese some of the events (pumpkin and frost moons primarily) on the playthrough that I was playing around with / learning hoiks and “invented”(?) this. (I saw no other existing examples or references to this version/method of I-frame machine when I made it.)

I think the most broken thing in terraria is wiring. I have a series on my channel trying to automate the game and i also made a queen bee farm, but i used mimics instead of unicorns. In only 2/3 dashes she dies. (I also made an AFK Daytime Empress farm).
hi wild
Hi chappy
@fairmaidenratno one cares champion
Ngl this series is genuinely so impressive, id get bored and call it quits way too early aha
TL;DR
If you're going to farm for critters, there's no way (that I know of) to ONLY increase critter spawns without increasing enemy spawns, but the peace candle and sunflower decrease ALL spawns (including critters), making ** the optimal setup for farming bunnies a water candle and a battle potion. **
I believe a town "biome" let's you filter out monsters
I'm so glad I found this channel tonight, your videos are absolutely great and put in me in mind of a combination of Wand of Sparking and Ilikecheese
Queen bee cheese with bees alive is not new, I use this on every challenge playthrough especially my no bullets or arrows ranger getfixedboi playthrough, but I’m glad you are using your channel to show more terraria players, especially newer and uninitiated
Tho saying “invented” is a little ehhhhh idk there are more ppl in the terraria community that care about wacky interactions 12:45
😔😔😔😔😔 thought it was this whole time
@@wildlmaono the video was really good I loved your creative take on money machines and boss statues for their boxes, I really liked it!
binged most of your newer terraria vids man you're goated
Man my mind can't stop thinking about the guy that made a computer inside terraria that can play actual games LIKE INSIDE TERRARIA
it really bothers me how a big chunk of the community only cares abt bosses, bosses, weapons, bosses, bosses, bosses. and it especially bothers me when ppl describe terraria as just a boss rush game. most ppl do not see the insane potential this game has in every category whether it's building , wiring, just fucking around even, and EVEN combat itself.
this is a sandbox game with rpg element and boss progression, not an rpg with sandbox elements, the difference is surprisingly pretty big but ppl don't notice
the best compairason between this and minecraft is most ppl who play minecraft consistently for years know at least some basic building or at least they TRY to dare i say a lot of them become decent builders by 100-200hrs even, meanwhile thousands of terraria players have over 1k hrs in this game and still don't know how to build anything but a showbox and barely know anything abt how wiring work past the existing traps, ya ik it's two different games and i hate the comparaison between them as well but it is annoying how ppl dumb down this game to boss fights and undermine everything cool bc look bosses (this is the same reason i don't like the modding scene as much as other ppl) this is not touhou guys 😭
so ya i love seeing this game being pushed to its limit :3
Sorry to ruin your day but Terraria is forever a boss rush game in people's mind. Modding scene only cements it.
@theultimaterat315 fair i kinda based that part specifically about my friends instead of the actual community so it ended up as a weak point and you're completely right on what you said
This playthrough sounds like ethyriel would have a field day with it in terms of ideas
When the queen been is at the end of her dash I think some statue mobs could do some serious damage 🤔
Yoo very true, the box should probably be over there instead of
your editing is fucking amazing i love it!!! this kind of series is quite interesting honestly...
It's definitely rare to see a UA-camr play on a mediumcore character, it's quite refreshing. Keep up the great content.
I don't really care for the medium core
dawg the gnome farm had me hooked loved this
This is wild lmao
shush
say that again
this is actually such a good video, breath of fresh air for this kind of content for Terraria
2:26 mushroom💔💔
As someone who's never played terraria till a week ago and still haven't killed there first boss this is so cool watching someone kill a boss with rabbits and statues xD loving the series
cool video but you definitely did not create a meta. Gromek and sorbet cafe to name a few already did this.
Yeah, sorbet even did a livestream of it all
Idk who gromek is but I found out sorbet did this after I posted and was so disappointed 😫 he’s the goat fr
This is an incredibly entertaining and interesting series. I love it so far and CANT WAIT FOR MORE
my parents heard that moan you put in with the auto stack
let's say i wasn't a part of the adults' table anymore
Nooooo 😭
crazy video series, can't wait to see more.
really nice builds
Oh yea, I’m busting
Good idea, probably wouldn't work on moon lord with it's special immunity frames, but I don't see why that couldn't cheese every other boss
6:50 Meta doesn't stand for "most effective tactics available", its a greek prefix meaning "beyond" and in the case of gaming, meaning "beyond the game" of sorts. The phrase "most effective tactics available" sometimes mentioned, is a backcronym for Meta.
My Singing Monsters shout out, Echoes of Wisdom music, probably the most unique gameplay I have ever seen. This channel and series is amazing! Keep up the spectacular work!
Lmao not mediumcoreeee. Cant u place living tree wall with the living tree wand? Would that help with the gnome farm?
they have to be naturally placed lol
The intro got me hooked, I got in to see what the unicorn statue is going to do and leave, now I’m binge watching
Wild Lmao will you please be mine
Ahh hell naw
The hardmode statue trat for queen bee was actually in sorbet cafe's cheese video, good on you for figurin that one out on your own I'd say
5:23 not really? that's already a known thing... when you say it like that it feels like you're trying to take credit on previously existing strats.
7:42 ?
@@enesefe1183 nah he;s got the right time
@@enesefe1183 I said "feel", not that he's actively trying to do that. the way he keeps saying "we invented this" or "I discovered that" is very off-putting.
Yeah, it's certainly not new, Sorbet Cafe is currently doing a playthrough where queen bee and bees are his only source of damage (bees from hives, not bee gun, or bees spawned by accessories)
...or he just didn't know they existed. I never knew about this strat either.
yo this series is so peak, my favorite terraria series I've seen in so long
“Obviously you can summon Unicorns in pre-hard core” says some nerd who probably only the thumbnail
I love this series so much. Its just so cool how you kill ervery boss in such a special way that I would never even think about. I am already so exited for the nect episode!
This is about to be… wild!
Lmao yeah
Yo just subscribed this video concept is amazing! Can't wait for a new episode.
Super innovative! I always forget just how much stuff is in this game.
the queen bee kill method is the same way speedrunners do the seeded queen be record. they use mimics and position themselves below it so queen bee sits on the mimics
Omg is the real
@theloonymoony1443 edentrue
Never played terraria past the eye of chtulu. This has inspired me to watch you play
nice. MSM was my childhood besides terraria. i love your sponsor
💀
This series is so fire, I seriously can't wait to see the next episode.
19:55 OMG NIGHT OF THE CONSUMERS MUSIC BANGERRRR🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah frrrr
I LOVE you,I watched every single video you have made
These are great videos, really enjoying them
i have no idea who you are but between your pfp all the way to the crazy things you’re doing in terraria i can already tell you i love your content 🙂
You hit me with Plants vs Zombies music into Tip of the Spear from Halo: Reach. Are you deliberately making a soundtrack of my childhood?
Best series on youtube right now by far
I think this might be the purest and best way to play Terraria. It's a game with a ridiculous amount of content to enjoy and this man really said, "why would you burn through the content as fast as possible? Why not enjoy it?"
