Oh wow
"All models are different"
Models: skinny long hair beautiful tall
Sarah- Quinn- you do know that people who aren’t that skinny are models and you need to be pretty to be a model
Sarah- Quinn- that’s just a few examples, anyone can model! We ARE all different!
@@Cassxowary I mean obviously just anyone can be a model. Models are models because they make clothes look good and draw peoples attention (because they are attractive or unique). Every single field of work has requirements. You couldn't be a lawyer without studying law so how can you expect to be a model when you don't fit the standards for modeling?
@@gingerbread9691 nah there are alot of ugly models tbf
Sarah- Quinn- I feel yah. I’m skinny but not pretty
Why am I watching this, I look like a mouldy potato - on a good day

danisnotahamster I'm eating a potato. nom nom fuckers
how dare you eat my people
What's with these girls complaining they can't model because they're ugly? High fashion models seek for unique features and these supermodels doesnt just walk around or take pictures just to be pretty, they blend in to the theme the client wants and work their butt off to make it work when they walk. You don't need ethereal genes, you need confidence to make it work because fashion industry is very tough. Naomi Campbell won't be on her level right now if she isn't tough and confident.
Great point Nikola.
Hehehe might also add knowledge about the fashion world such as designers, style, photographers, agencies, and as well other notable models! Modelling is a heavy career :o
Do you want me to send you a picture of me to prove you I'm not pretty? My friends and family say I am but I just don't feel like I am. When I look in the mirror I just don't think I'm pretty
well I don't have any unique features and I'm sooo ugly
What if they are ugly and very short.
modelling is my biggest dream ever omg :(
mine too but I'm only 1'71 so I'm to short:(
I´m 1.74cm so I´m to short too..

Zaria M I'm 17, it's too late... But thanks
I remember a small modeling agency scouted me 4 years ago but I had to turn it down because at the time, my mom didn't approve. now I'm 17 and I wish I had done it. I wanted to so bad.
Ari,
The modeling industry can be amazing - traveling the world, meeting incredible people, getting well paid... but, unfortunately, there are some 'agencies' who take advantage so it's always best to best safe. Always check and double check the agency online and in person before agreeing to do anything. I'm sure your time will come again.
Ari Kay the same things happened to me... when I was 13. I should have done it, but mom parents were not really sure about ut
You were too young. Don’t regret it, your mom made the right choice. That industry is no place for someone as young as you were.
same omfg. i was walking in the mall, and and i got stopped and was asked about considering modeling...wish i took the chance

When I'm too cocky about my appearance, I watch these kinds of videos to crush my self-esteem

Damn yall have confidence lol I’m uglyyyyy

One issue with girls wanting to make it BIG in modeling: My mom did modeling for several years. She got pretty far (made it into magazines, made good money, worked with popular companies, etc) but I remember when I was fairly young she started doing it less and less. When I told her I wanted to be a model like her, she told me the reasons she stopped. My mom is EXTREMELY goal-oriented btw. My mom was shocked hearing her fellow models talk about what they would do with big, top-notch company managers to get big promotions and to get put out into the public eye more often. My mom had a lot of values and because she wouldn't get down and dirty with people that could put her in the limelight, or whatever they wanted you to do, she could only do so much and go so far with modeling. She told me it has gotten worse over the years (she started late 80's until about early 2000s). I'm sure this might not ALWAYS be the case, but I know my mom has seen A LOT. Just consider this before you start if you are wanting to become a model that wants to make it REALLY big because you may have to sacrifice values and your dignity.
On a random note, what brands? Now I am really curious :D
Daniella G Brands? Like companies she did modeling for?
yeah
even i wanna know lol
Daniella G I know for sure she started with McCarty agency as a teen (18/19) and it was highly desired in the state around the 80s but then we moved to las vegas and she did more modeling. I will have to ask her about the other modeling agents she worked with.
you have no idea how much i want to be a model. people say i’m ‘pretty’ irl but i am NOT photogenic like at all. cameras make my face really asymmetrical and whenever i ask people if it’s that bad they say they don’t see it eek
Gurl same!!!! 😭😭😭😭

i dont wanna be a model but i wants a model body and face.

Same.
You can't have a "model face", every model is different, there are models that are not that pretty but they have some particular signs that make them unique. But you can have a "model body" from a weight loss and lifting your muscles at the gym
Eileen Mah inner beauty is what counts(:

Want to know what really pisses me off... height. You can control your weight and stuff but HEIGHT is due to genetics. You can eat right and stuff but only grow to a certain point. What if you are 5'2 but have a great personality and look amazing. NOPE! Minimum 5'8...
Edit: Wow haha I didn't expect anyone to notice this comment but you all have pretty good points. Thanks for all of the likes too! ♡
Luna Nightcore There's some modeling agencies that don't have really any height requirements at all
Kalista Buchanan Mostly if you are younger. Even if the don't have requirements, they still tend to go for taller models. I would I love to be a model but I'm only 4'11...
Luna Nightcore I'm 5'11 and honestly being tall sucks😂
exactly what i think everytime. my mom is 5'6 and dad is 6'0, but i'm just 5'3. i always wished to be taller than my mom, but ugh. couldve been like 5'8, but for some reason im just 5'3.
Kalista Buchanan say that to the 5'0 people who need a stool to reach the first shelf in the kitchen. no. the only perk is fitting in bathtubs. that is all.
I would be a model but I'm ugly af😂 edit: kinda had a glowup ngl.

Why did i only realize she had an english accent at like the end of the video
A slayer I only realized it when I saw this comment, that was as well at the end of the video😂
A slayer I only noticed it when you said it xd
Hazel Lovelock it's an English accent
Hazel Lovelock So when someone says "You have a Spanish accent" it's definitely not an accent because it's a language? No. It's an English accent because the person is from England and she is speaking with an english accent. Most people from England prefer when people say "English accent" and not "British accent".
Hazel, there's a flaw in your argument. Britain contains multiple countries that have highly different accents. The Scottish accent is easily identifiable from the English accent. (I know regions have accents, but that is the case in every country. It's well known that the different countries in Britain has distinct differences in their accents.) Thus, a British accent doesn't necessarily mean an English one.
i’ve been scouted a few times. once in a mall, once in a park and just recently i was scouted at a cafe in moscow and i had to turn them down bc my grandma said it costs to much money to travel and takes too much time but modeling is my biggest dream and i’m still 13 so i’m going to try to convince her
Hi April, your grandma is obviously a very wise woman. Although you won't' have to pay for travelling if you are signed to an agency (they pay for expenses), it can take up some time if you're successful. Many young models join teen model agencies who take into account the model's education. You're still very young so take your time. I'm sure you're dream will come true when the time is right. If we've learned anything in life, always listen to your grandma!
i really think my sister should be scouted, she's a 14 year old kendall jenner
Maddie, 14 is very young. We would recommend speaking to a teen model agency before sending her images anywhere.
Some models start young and the right agency can guide them through the important things such as education while they try out modeling. Always check the agency before sending anything images and make sure she is accompanied by an adult for anything model-related.
let her build her personality before she gets brainwashed
preach it cupcake cake
Cupcake Cake Ur one hell of a smart cupcake
If you want to use a good comparison don't use ken, she's not a good model. She hasn't made any efforts to improve and doesn't take the job as seriously as most models, the only reason why she's there is because of nepotism. Plus if you're sister is a replica she isn't going to attract much attention, contrary to popular belief you don't have to be conventionally beautiful to make it in the modeling world, you have to have unique features that make you stand out in a room full of other girls that want the same job as you. Hope this helped xx:)
As a twelve year old model, it is very difficult to focus on schooling, I'm in year seven but I'm being extended in my work to year nine work as I was moved into a higher grade. I find that modelling brings out a maturity as I fit in with older peers much more then the peers that I was meant to be with. It just might be me and my personality but I find that most female models that start from a young age are more mature then the average girl.
Not arrogant, but mature.
i wanna get scouted so i dont have to tell my parents i wanna be a model because they might go like “ur too ugly for that”
dont let that stop you, you shouldnt care what they think dude. if you really want to get scouted and become a model you have to put in hard work and dedication to look better (sorry if it sounds shallow but thats how it is) nothing is impossible and dont give up dude. and if they do call you “ugly” then use that as leverage or motivation and prove them wrong. aim high my dude
You're gonna hear that a lot in the model industry anyways, you have to learn to ignore those that say that and power through
If you wanna model, then do it.
Tell them that you have their genes 😂😂
Just kidding
models are skinny and pretty and I'm hella ugly and fat without confidence LMAO. 😂😂😂
Lacie Ashlyn without confidence I can see that but you’re beautiful the way you are!(: work on your confidence!
Lacie Ashlyn anyway you need confidence so they don’t make you do things you don’t want to do and that can harm you!

Please scout me. Every single stranger asks me if I'm a model and then I say, "No. "and then they say, "You should be."
I'm tired of the routine. I want to say yes for once!
This video is very informative, but it'd be great if they could mention that look for models for a certain size .
I've been scouted on previous occasions and have been told to model because of my bone structure etc but I've always had doubts seeing as I'm 5'8 and quite curvy.
My mum in the past was a very big model in Nigeria and modelled a lot during Paris fashion week and all over Europe , but she was practically orthorexic
Great comment and thank you for sharing. There are so many areas of modeling, from fitness, commercial, high-end, plus, fitting etc... that we're keen to cover them all individually. We'll be releasing new videos with model experts in each area over the coming weeks so watch this space!
I'm 5'1" and 16 yrs old. Either I get to walk for the Children's Place or I give up lol
Hi Chelsea, if you are serious about modeling, there are agencies that may take you on and the option to freelance (find model work yourself). Height is not the be all and end all in modeling. Commercial models are often shorter than editorial models (catwalk models / high fashion models).
I was scouted a few times after I graduated high school. They never said I was attractive or good looking. Instead, the said I had an “interesting” or “unusual” look to which I’d always think ~The elephant man had an “unusual” and “interesting” look. My lack of self esteem and confidence had me pass on the opportunities. That is, until when in my twenties I became hiv positive and somehow became the spokesmodel for California’s hiv youth health awareness campaign and had 15 billboards across the state and was doing spots on tv and radio. A few agencies got a hold of me so I figured I’d give it a shot. It was a painful experience. It takes a really thick skin to thrive in that industry. Praise may come your way, but cruel indifference will come as well.... Go-sees often left me feeling gutted. Every flaw you didn’t know you had will be brought to your attention. Any criticism you couldn’t imagine receiving will be spat your way. You’d be talked about like you were last week’s leftovers as if you weren’t even in the same room. If you were up for a job other models might get your spot because they were more willing to be more flirtatious and do sexually provocative nudes when none were even required or requested. I realized it wasn’t for me very quickly. In my thirties I went on three go-sees with a male friend of mine. Each time the photographer assumed I was sent by an agency and wanted to take the same Polaroids the other models took. My friend got annoyed but I would laugh it off. For me, who was made fun of all throughout school, the fact that they thought I could be a model was enough. I didn’t have to pursue it beyond what I did to prove a point.
advise for aspiring models: be 5'7 or taller... sadly I'm 5'3 ; (((
Emily Hernandez what if ur a kid? Like im 13 and 5'3, would i still be able to do it now?
Don't worry Emily, there is also commercial modeling that doesn't have height requirements! :)
I heard it was 5'9". I'm only 5'8.5", but I think I'll probably grow another half inch or so.
I'm 5'8'
I'm 13 and 5'6 is that ok
What people dont concider is that to be a model you dont only need to be tall and skinny. You must know how to walk the runway in a unique way and have unique looks. Modeling is a mix of everyday beauty with class and unique charactristics. For example, instagram beauty is one type of beauty everyone must follow. Modeling is different. You have to have your own looks that make you different from the other models and that isnt only the looks but the personality. To feel sexy, feel confident love every each imperfection of you and turn it into a unique perfection. This is the key to success and of course luck, but believing in yourself and have a personality on the runway is as important as looks.
It's too bad you're in another country because I'm looking to become a model and you seem like a nice person to work with

Oh Okay Then oh my god im 5'2"
Every one tells me I should be a model. Here's the issue, I'm 14 and only 5'3. My dads 6'1 so I hope to get to at least 5'5.
Your height wouldn't be appropriate for runway. But maybe as a photo model if you got the looks.
+Jen P my doctor said if I might get to 5'7 if I'm lucky...
Antonia, if you grow to 5'6" certain commercial agencies would consider taking you on but there is also a whole world of modelling work for smaller models particularly if you find the work yourself. Promotional modelling and commercial modelling would be good places for you to start researching.
I'm only 5'4 and I've been doing commercial modelling (mostly cosmetics and hair tools) and swimsuit modelling for almost 4 years now!
Think about what makes you stand out. Someone is probably looking for exactly that!
For example, I have naturally red and curly hair and freckles and really bright green eyes and make up and hair companies (at least where I live) seem to love that since it's pretty rare :)
Such great advice, Violet. It really is all about your 'brand' and what makes you unique. A lot of companies are looking for a particular look to represent their product, service or collection so don't let your height stop you from your ambition. Remember, always be safe, be yourself and stay positive.
I'm 5'4 & wish to model but I feel too short after all the cold rejections I had in the past even after I had all the positive support from all my friends & family before the auditions & I still remember the harsh gaze the last scout gave me 💔
Update: apparently I'm roughly 5'6

Hi Jen, your height would rule you out of certain agencies and most catwalk jobs. However, there is good news. You find work as an independent model on your own and there are plenty of model jobs that do not have a height requirement. If you are over 16, you can start by creating a model profile and uploading a couple of shots here: freelancerclub.net/register
modeling has been my dream ever since i was in kindergarten after me and my mom watched Victoria's Secret runway videos and we've been obsessing about it since then. And now that I'm in high school, modeling is still my biggest dream
Love modeling always wanted to be a model ive been told by many people i should pursue it.The way things are going with me right now im deffinetly thinking of doing it.
modelling is definitely a dream of mine. A few months ago, a man on the street said that i was beautiful and walked like a model. Don't worry- he seemed nice and kept his distance. I was wearing heels, and probably look older anyway- I'm 14, so my main worry is my parents not taking this seriously or worrying about my body image if i get into this industry. Good luck to all you aspiring models!!
Wanting to... but i dont really know if thats the best thing for me, I am really in love with fashion. Im just really shy.
Haha same i have no confidence and am asocial at it highest level.. but I want to audition at a agency in the next few months so yea
I got scouted and auditioned. Passed the audition, but at the time my family wouldn’t let me model. Thinking back on it, I loved my confidence. (Barbizon, Ny) When I look in the mirror sometimes I don’t like what I see. But you don’t have to be pretty on the outside to be pretty. ;)
Very informative video 🙌🏻
When i was 4 a huge modelling agency scouted me. They said they would make me famous overnight and i would be a rich tv star. My 4 year old self hated the camera so i said no. There is not one day where i dont regret it. If you get an oppurtunity you should take it otherwise you will hate yourself for it later
😭😭 wow my mom said no when I made eye contact with a stranger I didn't know he stood in front of me and my mom and asked how old I was and eventually asked if I wanted to be model sadly my mom said no... my dreams crashed
True as that might be, that also sounds really shady. Agencies don't bring up the money too often when scouting, and they'd likely have spoken to your parents instead.

Jenny, a 14, we would suggest applying to teen model agencies. The work is more fun and there's much less pressure. It's also a great way to get to know 'how' to model. It's not as easy as it looks! Good luck.

No because I have been many modelling agencies... for my hip hop dancing... for photo shoots when I met other models... there are many poses where the mouth is shut... so its fine ... anyway many girls look cute in braces ... it adds a different spark :)
Being a model is my biggest dream ever, I know that I am just fourteen but I feel like I have to start now if I want a career

So it's only natural that you should be impressed.
Sorry, I don't sign autographs.
I can't work out if you're being sarcastic or not. Because if you're not, then you're just lying because a model wouldn't come on to UA-cam and watch random videos then comment about how beautiful or handsome they are so...

I have wanted to be a model for a while now, but I can't convince my parents. I struggle with shyness and I think not only would I love to model, but it would help me gain confidence.:-)
I was once auctioned to be a model by my parents when I was a toddler. I actually won out of hundreds of others, but I apparently would not cooperate (crying and stuff).... sometimes I wonder what could have been.
I'm 5'7 so I still have a chance😀
I think a lot of girls would love to be models and they should. I would support you because women need to support each other and help build up each other's confidence.
I have a friend who I believe should become a model she's tall and beautiful and her instagram pictures are wonderful.
My 12 year old niece wants to be a model so badly, I found tons of videos like this on her history. I honestly don't know why young girls are striving to be just the perfect figure? I mean, I'm not discouraging it or anything but I find most models being your average stereotyped pretty girl. I'd love my niece being a model when she's older though!
Mhm spot on
To the young inexperienced people who dream to be a model, this is a serious career with different demands and expectations. You better have your priorities straight because you will have to sacrifice a lot.
Well said. Modeling (a lot like fame) has a glamourous allure that does show how much work it takes and what so many models have to sacrifice to earn a living. The majority of models will not make enough money to do it full-time.
Models who take advantage of the industry tend to find a balance between their modeling career and life. If modeling encourages you to eat healthily and work out, that's a positive but if it becomes an obsession it can be dangerous.
The positive side to modeling is an opportunity to work with some incredibly creative people, travel the world, get a lot of perks and get paid. Watch this video by a model talking about how she started, the pros and cons and what life is really like as a model: ua-cam.com/video/3DvnAsjP3Tw/v-deo.html
One of my biggest doubts about modelling has been whether bowleggedness (genu varum) would hinder someone from becoming a model. If it is not too severe is there still a chance for those who have this?
Being a fashion model is my biggest dream )):
I once got scouted before but I rejected them because I was too self conscious about my looks. Now I’m older and regret what I did -__-
I'm 14 and I'm 5,4 I really want to be a model not a catwalk one but would I be ok to model for Kids clothes? Or do modelling industries no matter what age want tall girls?
You can most differently do commercial modeling, which can pay more. You can do make up ads. Hair ads. High fashion runway no. But you can be 5'4 and model for clothing companies and they can give us the illusion that you're tall. Being reasonably thin is the most important. Cut down on sugar, dairy, and wheat, mix in with your young age and you can eat clean and stay pretty thin.
Daisy Pinky the thing about kids modeling is that you have to look young, like really young. And it's mostly just trying to laugh at the camera man to get a natural smile. Teen models have very little if not any demand in the industry and when there is, it's commercial modeling.
great information
I'm 13 and I have gotten scouted 3 times throughout my life

Yoma, although designers tend to require models to showcase their collections, they are very different jobs. Working in the fashion industry, you'll naturally meet more people who work in modelling which might help but they're not directly connected.

man i got scouted by img models but i am 2cm too short for the requirements... to be fair i never thought about or looked into modeling, but now that the opportunity passed by it got me wondering lol
I recently I got scouted at festival one of my dream is to be a model I was so happy!!!!!!!!
Congrats Meg. Was it for a model agency?
@@FreelancerClub sadly no it was for a website but u gotta start somewhere 😂😂😂
I modeled once it was Abc news so idk if that counts😂
When I was 8 I was asked to be a model. A scout confronted me in the IHOP restroom. Of course I said no, because I quite liked being a normal young girl at the time. As of now, at thirteen years old, I still don’t regret my decision. Modeling is a disgusting and dirty world to involve yourself in. You can’t make a lot of your own decisions.
I like taking the pictures ✌️

I think that you should just try it and send pictures around, and maybe they want you anyway. Because for the rest you sound great!

Meanwhile never even leaving the house
When I was 9, so almost 6 years ago, I was at a mall with my family and a model scout came up to me and invited me to one of their agency's events. I never went, because at the time I hadn't even put a thought into that type of thing. Numerous people have told me that I should be a model, but I just kinda laughed it off :D. But now I'm kinda thinking about doing something small but idk...
Modeling has been my dream..
Even if I wanted I could never be a model. Like I’m thin but I’m big boned and 5’8 but again I’m big boned. And my features are average and not the best yk. I’m aiming to be a lawyer instead 😂
I've been scouted several times but as soon as I mention my height they start doubting lmao 👺
Jas How tall are you?
Damn
Hi! I've recently been thinking about modelling, and I'm average height (still growing lol), I have actually a pretty proportionate body. A lot of people have told me that my actual face is "stunning", that I have a nice natural eyebrow shape (I like a bold brow), and I have VERY blue eyes from both sides of the family.. One time I did modelling (for fun) and they told me I should seriously consider it because I'm easy to work with in front of cameras- as in I know what you mean when you tell me to do something (I can contort my body pretty well when it comes to poses but I'm not a gymnast 😂). Also, I'm not a girl who's into Adidas or anything else like that, I don't personally find I fashionable.
Sounds good, right? The thing is, I have spots. They're not huge, but I have a lot of red ones. And blackheads on my nose. I clean my face twice a day with cleanser, toner and moisturiser and I eat pretty healthy. I mean, I'm only 14 so I'm guessing it's just age stuff. But would spots or skin problems be a problem when it comes to modelling?
Thanks if you reply, it'd help a lot 😊👍🏼
modelling is my greatest dream
I don't know how i ended up here but i feel stressed out hahaha
I want to be a model
Question: I'm 5'6 1/2 and not model thin but not fat, I have more of an athletic/slim body. Would I be able to make it as a model? Just curious.
when you say to send images with no makeup, does eyebrows filled in count? 😊
As natural as possible Riona. Avoid wearing hats or anything covering your face. Good luck.
lol yes
I don't fill them in like HD brows or something lmao. I literally just give them colour cos they're blonde
doesn't matter you have to be 100% natural. Because they could actually end up loving that your eyebrows are blonde.
