Wow this is a lot of helpful information thank you, I’m from Boston and I always wanted to be signed with Maggie I have applied so many times lol but it never came to mind that maybe it’s because they don’t see a difference or improvement with my pictures I’ve sent but I feel like I’ve applied so many times already and that they wouldn’t want to sign me in general
Interesting, I didn't know there was much room for this niche in the modeling industry. Thanks for making this video :) *And for sure hearing more about your specific story makes your advice/info a lot more "real" and understandable rather than abstract !
I am 45 so too old to model now but when I was younger I could have. However, I got rejected because of my personality. I pretty much didn’t have one. I was super shy. Which I don’t understand because a runway model doesn’t smile or anything. I was pretty perfect for it but oh well 🤷🏻♀️ I was 5’9, 112 pounds and a waist size of 24 inches. A natural beauty as well. But I wasn’t bubbly and talkative so I was rejected 🙄
personality can be a big factor in modeling. you may be seen with a little more of a lifestyle instead of fashion model which leans commercial where personality is extremely important. try again if you can! treat it like a job interview!
@@daisycheekz I understand but I am autistic so it’s difficult. They allow people with Down syndrome now so I feel discriminated against. I was talking about when I was younger and could have been a runway model. Now of course I am too old.
So question..... should you ever have to pay anything when starting with a model/talent manager or agency? Like classes/workshops headshots and portfolio. I have one interested in me but idk if it's a scam
Hi! Do I have to live where my agency is? Im trying to move to LA but I’m currently in Dallas and I wouldn’t want to have to stay in Dallas if an agency says yes to me. Thanks!
hi there - yes generally! top models will be booked "directly" and clients will pay for their travel expenses. but, starting out, clients will want to book you as "local" which means they don't pay for travel or lodging. There are actually some great agencies in Texas! Kim Dawson, Wallflower, Campbell. They're all very reputable.
For a male model, that is pretty short. If you're still growing, you might get a chance after reaching 5'10, 5'11 and more. If you are not gonna reach that height, you should still try and apply for agencies that sign commercial, acting or catalogue models because height usually doesn't matter for that

don't lose hope! keep trying to improve your portfolio. try the other agencies too like model club!
Really useful and helpful video. I really appreciate you making this video.

You can still model. Look for lifestyle divisions...over 40. @@shawnaaustin3396
Even though you're only 5'5, your face is very photogenic and agencies like Elite, Ford or Wilhemina should sign you. I would.

Would someone who fits all criteria but with mild acne or skin condition have a chance to be signed?
yes! there are many successful models that deal with acne/other skin conditions!
What if a model agency wants you to take some classes that you have to pay for? Their agency seems pretty legit but is that normal?
personally i would say no. most agencies don't may you pay a fee besides a potential website fee (shouldn't be a big one).
red flag = NO

I’m 5 feet tall and I feel like I definitely don’t have a chance in the modelling world lol. :/
Hello Christie, can I become a male model if I’m 5”8? I do really want to be model someday 😭😭

@@youngfadula thank you so much for the info 😊
Hi! Do you know a real agency in northeast Ohio that is not PMTM?
not sure but try googling talent agencies :)
only apply to places you're willing to travel to.
