You can get adaptive cruise and all the safety features on $20k cars (e.g. Kia Forte). But, on higher cost vehicles they will cost an additional $5k on higher cost vehicles. It makes no sense at all.
LTZ and High Country get LED. You can get LEDs on the LT with the midnight package but it rarely available to order. I do agree it should be on all of them.
So when do truck manufacturers start angling the hood UPWARD away from the road so that they can fit an even larger front end. Visibility obviously isn't the greatest concern. There's a chart somewhere that shows that the average tractor-trailer hauler has better visibility than these new pickups.
I agree with you… I actually favored Ram heavy duty for keeping the hood lower and corners… then they added that damn hood scoop for the new year model… WHY?
@@brians.1357semi’s grill is about the same size, but it’ll pull nearly 6 times as much. The design is to appeal to truck owners who are majority conservative about truck looks, otherwise it would be styled to be more aerodynamic for fuel economy
Definitely a mountain goat. I love the styling of the truck, but that hood is huge. No way without a front camera. I have no need for a truck like this , but I want one. I would go with the single cab and long bed and put a 4wheel camper in the bed. I would love to see you test it out at your course. Great review as always.
The front of these GM heavy duty trucks has grown on me I can’t lie I actually like them now I don’t think I’d buy one but I actually find them good looking now much better looking in person
How did it ride on the highway? Obviously those ditch crossings were pretty rough, but how'd it do on those backroads? Didn't look overly bouncy, or you've got a good stabilizer! BTW love the chicken cameos, lol!
It would be nice to see how it does on your courses you made. The suburban did great and that js pretty long. I think it would be great to see it’s true off road capability.
You didn't mention the wireless charger, I think it's absolutely the best integration of that on any cabin, being part of the console like that, I like it because I can get to it easy in my truck
You can get adaptive cruise on the LT, they wouldn't let me order it though because it was on constraint. I optioned my LT with leather and got the full center console so I could get wireless charging. Also went up to a 3500 price difference was only $800!
Agreed. Price difference between 2500 and 3500 is minimal. Why you would opt for the 2500 makes little sense. And the GMC versions now have LED headlights.
May you review the competitor like Ford Super Duty? I can't wait to see how it performs, off road features and durability. I'm curious about what you think.
Good review! I agree that it is bogus that a vehicle of this price does not even have adaptive cruise control. But, the truck seems very capable off road, compared to the smaller vehicles we usually see tested. Lots of clearance and good angles. But I'm confused: on that very last test, was the rear locker engaged, or not? Did you try it 1st without the locker? Or, does this have the G80 auto locker? I bet that is it, I missed it if that was mentioned.
I don’t understand the need for adaptive cruise if you want a self driving vehicle get a Tesla with some ratchet straps and strap your junk to the roof✌️

Great review, I agree that a truck at 70K+ in 2024 is unacceptable to not have adaptive cruise control. Especially for the heavy duty nature of it potentially doing long highway miles pulling heavy trailers.
@@0HOON0 Well then im sure that truck wasn't tested to beyond 10 percent of its actual offroad worthiness, I've driven a Silverado 2021 offroad and i know what it can do. This seemed like a drive through the neighborhood.
I have a 2015 Silverado HD LT package, great truck, but terrible MPG, and it's gonna cost me $68K to replace my exact truck, I'M DONE GM, getting a Tundra limited, very well equipped with moonroof and JBL sound, and rear slide window for $62,500.00, and 19mpg combined

You've never driven a fifth wheel? LOL! Me neither, but I have towed my fifth wheel for many thousands of miles with my old Chevy pickup that worked beautifully, and I didn't pay almost $100,000 either, but a small fraction of that cost, so this price is outrageous.
Where are you guys getting these price numbers? It’s 74k and not almost 100k. I agree it’s still outrageous but you guys are adding 25k and another commenter 50k to the MSRP which is mentioned in the first minute of the video.
Also if you are getting this same truck with the V8 gas engine not the Duramax diesel that’s automatically 10k less. In a lower trim without cameras and fancy tailgate and white color it’s also at least another 5k less. So you can get this truck in gas V8, white no options for probably 60k or less. Still a lot but a higher end midsize truck cost that much or more with a turbo V4. So compared to that it’s almost reasonable price.
You can get adaptive cruise and all the safety features on $20k cars (e.g. Kia Forte). But, on higher cost vehicles they will cost an additional $5k on higher cost vehicles. It makes no sense at all.
Considering 2024 is a refreshed model the 2500 should really come standard with LED headlights.
LTZ and High Country get LED. You can get LEDs on the LT with the midnight package but it rarely available to order. I do agree it should be on all of them.
Your reviews are great! Thanks for doing what you do!
Beautiful Truck ! Still waiting to see the ZR2 HD !

😂 Did the truck ever notice it was off the pavement ?
Nope.
Adaptive cruise control IS available on the LT trim, it is just a $500 option.

I think that big turbo diesel needs a lot of air and big fans to stay cool towing 20k up a 7% grade hence the large frontal area.
