OMG, what a Drama Queen, I almost sank up to My knees. Didn't know your knees were 3 inches above your the ground. You nailed the throttle on your Ford to make it up that hill. But yet let's go 1 mph in the Chevy, and as soon as you get momentum, you stomp on the brakes.! Oh, it won't do it.! I've watched many other videos of this same truck, and a helluva lot more difficult trails, and it made it up no problem.
Because momentum doesn't show what the system is capable of. Secondary, it increases the risk of damage to press vehicles which will limit him from being able to do future review with the company or car
I don't know if you guys have noticed this This guy is obviously bias Against chevy trucks Always trying to make them look bad I've seen other reviews, drive this truck in Worse Conditions and they never had a problem this truck is super capable I don't care if you're a ford ram or gm fan boy It's about being professional and reviewing vehicles without being bias And is going to Deny it but it's true And he know it..
I don't wanna sound like captain planet, but I appreciate it that you planting new trees and keep an eye out on nature...anyway you do a great job with building your own off road course and testing this badass truck. You're cool man!
Great video as always, as a fan that has been subscribed since you were at 50k, I’m super excited to see how this off road course is going to show off the capabilities of your test vehicles. Great job Ryan, and great job Silverado
HD Silverado ZR2 is great off-road and tow truck. How big this truck is compare it when You standing next to it. Now with new course build we'll see some hardcore off-road reviews. Great episode. Greetings
It's pretty awesome to see how this channel has grown. I bought a Maverick based off your review because everything you explained about it gave me confidence that it was the right vehicle for my needs. Hope to continue to see more from you guys at DS TV!
I was at a gatornationals drag race where it rained for three days. Everyone was getting stuck. U park nose in down a slope and have to reverse out. We are all sitting around drinking beer watching these huge trucks get buried. This little maverick started to back out, and we all laughed. Then it slowly backed out on the road and quietly left. We were all shaking our head in disbelief and gave the owner a thumbs up as he passed by.
No, if you armt crabbing then you're in 2wd. All auto does is engage and disengage 4x4 as needed. If you're slipping it engages, and if you're turning on a friction surface or just arnt slipping it'll disengage. It's mostly for people who have no clue how to use it but still need it
I totally agree on the e brake throw. I have the same feature on my silverado and corvette, and I hate it. It seems to apply itself when the surface it at a certain slant. Depending on how I park on my driveway will dictate if it's auto applied or not.
I think the principal advantage from a truck like this over a SUV is a major capacity of towing, more space inside, its all wheel drive system , which let it road on any terrain.
What were your tire pressures at when you tried to climb the hill? Lower the tire pressures and you’ll increase your grip and improve the ride comfort off-road. It comes with 35s not 33s.
Ah yes doctor, that’s the truck that ran me over in the shopping mall, that red bow tie was the last thing I saw before waking up in a hospital. Cool truck though lol
Sometimes, when I watch videos like this, I wonder how manufacturers give guys like this a truck to test. I could test that truck 100x better and more realistic in Wyoming in 2 days. How can an offroad purpose truck not go through ankle deep mud? LMAO. I also don't know why you always go from 2wd to 4low. You do understand it has 4 high, don't you. Plus, when you back up, you might want to back up more than 3 feet.
The ZR2 is somewhat different but I have a 2023 GMC 3500 crew cab 8-foot bed Duramax. Practically the same truck and probably heavier in GMC skin. Truck empty is 8,250 pounds. Changed the tires to Duratrac Load E AT. Much higher rolling resistance that the original stock tires but if I keep it 65 MPH on the highway then I get 20.5 MPG fuel economy. Hand calculated it over a 5,000-mile trip. In town I get 14 MPG (not towing obviously).
Ryan, You said, "You can't tow 18,150 pounds with a Prius, can you?" I bet you could do it once. 😉 On a more serious note, it is good to see you are planting more 🌲🌲 than you are taking down. It looks like a metal detector will be your next trail building investment. Finally, why don't you send that saw blade to the local sharpening shop to give it a second life. 😁
Have you actually ever used one or are you just a troll? Guessing troll! I've worked in construction for over 30 yrs and i absolutely love the new tailgate and the steps in the bumper...
I like your videos but wondering if you ever do an average person's truck. I can't afford the off-road top-line versions. Would like to see the Custom 2.7 4x4 take on the hill that you made and see how that does. How about the Nissan Titan SV to show what a truck can still handle. I know it would be hard to test 3-4 same vehicles on the same hill due to engines and other variables but is there any value to test the base or almost base model? What trims sell the most for each vehicle and do the companies only provide you with the top-end ones? Just your average guy looking for some vehicles that he might be able to afford then they are 2-3 years older. Right now looking for 2019-2021 vehicles but hard to find reviews in trims I can afford.
This seems to make sense for towing heavy equipment and cargo. Makes sense. The problem is that most of the time I see these as "status" symbols. Clean, unused, just "look, mine is bigger" statements. Trucks should be sold only to people who actually need them (and no, "I tow a boat once a year" is not enough of a reason.)
I had birthday gift on 2023, midnight edition zr2 bison package, it’s a gift that gifting you everyday in every way. Love it!😊

Seems like you always realize you need more “momentum” but tend not to really back up enough nor accelerate enough to gain that “momentum”.
Because momentum doesn't show what the system is capable of. Secondary, it increases the risk of damage to press vehicles which will limit him from being able to do future review with the company or car
@@MrMikeDaoseems like you used more momentum with the Ford Raptor on this hill

This guy is so biased and it's so clear. He's not a journalist, he's a propagandist.
@@dannysiordia4176he got stuck in a ford one video just didn’t press on the gas id rather push a Chevy than drive a ford
Can't wait to see Ryan Jr. test the Silverado 25000 XHD Pro Max EV in 2050
I love the off-road course.
Truck King just did a nice little review of the Crosstrek Wilderness up here in some Canadian snow.
Remember, payload isn't just what's in the bed, it includes passengers and everything in the cab too.
👍🏼 and trailer tongue weight.
Where's my love button?! Looks like it's gonna be a killer course Ryan!
It comes with 35” tires not 33”.
I don't wanna sound like captain planet, but I appreciate it that you planting new trees and keep an eye out on nature...anyway you do a great job with building your own off road course and testing this badass truck. You're cool man!
Why use 4LO? You want wheel speed so use 4high and it won't cut power.
I have never used 4 low in my truck always 4 high
Great video as always, as a fan that has been subscribed since you were at 50k, I’m super excited to see how this off road course is going to show off the capabilities of your test vehicles. Great job Ryan, and great job Silverado
I just watched a couple videos from the 50,000 subscriber era. It seems like a lifetime ago.
@@drivingsportsI know, you guys have made it so far!!
I'm not into trucks but if I was that thing looks amazing.

Cool episode, mix of course building and truck review.

Did you try the auto function on the 4WD? It allows all wheel traction even on dry surfaces without crabbing.
No, if you armt crabbing then you're in 2wd. All auto does is engage and disengage 4x4 as needed. If you're slipping it engages, and if you're turning on a friction surface or just arnt slipping it'll disengage. It's mostly for people who have no clue how to use it but still need it
Love the conservation and cleanup efforts!
Lol😂
Very nice truck that is far more capable off-road than this video would suggest.
Keep up the great work reviewing non-Subaru brands. Nice change for this channel….
Ahhhh come on!! Drive that thing!! Hamner down!!
I totally agree on the e brake throw. I have the same feature on my silverado and corvette, and I hate it. It seems to apply itself when the surface it at a certain slant. Depending on how I park on my driveway will dictate if it's auto applied or not.
How much damage do you have on your ranger, when the tree fell on it?
Zero! Solid rack.
Is there a 2500 version of the Tahoe Long body?
I wanna see Outback and forester go thru the new area and new mud!!!
Never knew 16 tons of rocks was such a small pile 😵💫
Try carrying them. The pile gets pretty big pretty quick. 😂
6, 9-12 mpg or liters per 100km? Thanks
these videos need more views
Im not sure that actually required a CDL. WA law states the combined weight must be over 26,001 lbs. 🤔
Total weight was pretty close to that. So it might’ve still been legal, but it was borderline
I looked this up, too! I was thinking that doesn't seem like enough weight to need a CDL.
I think the principal advantage from a truck like this over a SUV is a major capacity of towing, more space inside, its all wheel drive system , which let it road on any terrain.
Ryan just keeps kicking me while I'm down since I only have 2wd lol
youre driving that like a crossover not like the truck it is..
Thanks for share, this is one of my favorite brands in pick-ups for the reliable tradition of General Motors(Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick).
Lol reliable?
I kind of enjoy how hard this guy makes everything look, makes me feel good about just being a dude who drives his truck like an average male lol
You really need to look up "momentum". Laying off the accelerator and not having enough runway won't get you up any hill.
You’re right about that!
He’s doing it on purpose to make Chevy look bad.
What were your tire pressures at when you tried to climb the hill? Lower the tire pressures and you’ll increase your grip and improve the ride comfort off-road. It comes with 35s not 33s.
Go get your CDL, you won’t regret it!
The truck's truck! Very nice!
A truck like this needs a transfer case shifter on the transmission tunnel, not push buttons.
I own this truck and I 100 percent agree with you. It’s actually one of the few things I dislike about the truck.
i was able to get 20.2 miles to the gallon in my zr2 2500 which is very good. but it was on the highway only
I’m only getting 16 in mine
I wanna see a shootout with the Gas vs Diesel engine. My old man has a Gas engine 2500 and that thing is a beast too
Thank you for also saying in kilograms not only in pounds, greetings from Venezuela
Tough choice. But I chose the 2024 F350 Tremor high output diesel. More comfortable seats, front lsd, and ford you can have tremor in f250 or f350
I guess I missed an episode somewhere, but what happened to the last test course you built?
13:17 did the tree just smash the pick up truck 😅 any carnage?
Ah yes doctor, that’s the truck that ran me over in the shopping mall, that red bow tie was the last thing I saw before waking up in a hospital. Cool truck though lol

Great video as always Ryan! Can I bring my taco to your off road course?! 😄
Should have had the TFL guys out for some offroad course building fun. David would have been a huge help...
Looks like you brought shoes to a boot fight sir 😂😂
I just wear shoes when filming. Boots are clunky.
This is my next truck
Looks good 😊😊
Does that old busted dodge have a cummins? Because that cummins exhaust brake is 10 times more effective than the duramax's exhaust brake.
channel With high-quality images of northern nature, which is similar to Russia. like in the movie Twilight. Cool)
It's all about the tires

That’s one badass truck! Hoping you’ll get to review the new Ram soon 🤞🏽
When will you be doing the review and offroad test of tacoma trail hunter? Also any update on raptor? Would love to see those😊
No specifics yet.
Would have loved to see a review of the excavator 😀
+ I love it.
Ryan, I have to say, really appreiate the metric (kg/ mm) equivalents you add to the specs.
**“Tim tool man Taylor grunts here”**
Weird how they removed the front sensors on the ZR2 but kept them on the AT4x.
You are using 4 lo 100% more than you have to. 4 high is more than capable especially for gaining momentum.
Should do one on a GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 3.0l Diesel Double cab X31... 😁 not decked out, just plain and simple...
Why's there not a 3rd seat option in this thing
Don't be afraid to scratch it
I’ll never get over how gimmicky tailgates are and that people buy into it
Have you actually ever used one or are you just a troll? Guessing troll! I've worked in construction for over 30 yrs and i absolutely love the new tailgate and the steps in the bumper...
Omg lol to much crap when ya get the trailer on! I just like hooking up and going! Lol
Plenty of idiots will be paying $1200/month for that thing.
4 low for crawling. should be headed up that hill in 4 high
Great truck to tow Subarus to the repair shop.
Dammm, those are big rocks.....
0:20 that’s what she said 😅
looks like dwarf with his car :)))
You don’t talk about MPG with a truck like that anyway
Highway/street average 17 mpg. Diesel
With a tune it will improve. Best thing about a diesel… give it a tune and the mpg improves. 🤷🏻♂️
The fords interioris way more dated looked to me.
This dude is a biased fuck. Hates chevys.
You said they were 33" tires, in all the documentation it claims the truck has 35's lol
Tires are 34.8in. (35's) not 33in as stated

Chevy, Like a Rock (or a pile of rocks in this case).
Could use 4 auto instead of 4 low and give it more momentum than you are,
Should have off loaded the excavator with the trailer still hooked up to the truck for safety.
That's what she said 😂
I have a 24 1500 ZR2.
The HD is badass but way too heavy for any real off-roading. The 1500 duramax is 2,600lbs lighter.
2024 zr2 with the 3.0 not a bison
I haven't watched it yet, but im guessing the 4WD doesn't stay engaged? Because its not a subaru, so its not perfect
Because it’s not a Subaru it’s actually better.
@13:15 whoops
$86,000+ USD ☹
you'll see 15mpg when not towing. and around 9 when towing. pretty standard in that size class
Nope that’s not standard or it didn’t used to be. I remember my 2006 duramax getting 23 mpg before they changed the diesel.
you need to know how to use it first has to be on 4 hi in order to gain speed and make it lol

Commie
Lmao, cry some more. Don’t be mad you can’t afford one.
That is not a 'problem', mind your own business Karen
Turn off traction control and set your purse down
Those aren't 33" tires...
I think they’re 35s
Don’t be so scared to drive that truck…..try using 4H
I need more grill, just add more grill and more heavy steel to the front end area. I need to heal my massive micropenesia and chronic E.D.
