9:21 Nomex sleeve is not included!
What is the nomex sleeve? My intake arrives tomorrow.
@@joedavis8072 It's a sleeve that goes around the intake inlet.
Installed mine today and it was without a doubt the toughest bolt on I’ve attempted. to date. This video is pretty good but is vague when it comes to the details. Removing the ambient air temperature sensor was especially and unnecessarily difficult. That being said, my C8 does seem a bit quicker in the high RPM range but doubt there’s a 17 HP bump from this mod. I will do a few 0-60 launches for a before and after comparison in a day or two.

Good instructions as always. Maybe the next vid, use purple gloves, or something that doesn’t blend in with the black background.

Thats a decent little HP gain, I'm surprised GM didn't design the improvement into the stock unit. It certainly wouldn't add cost to manufacturing the car. 512 HP is more impressive than 495 HP.
WHY DO YOU SUPPOSE THEY DID IT THAT WAY?
Gas guzzler taxes start at 500hp.
Paragon performance are selling a cool piece of kit here. Well done to them for that decision.
For $795.00 and State sales tax for what it is, over 3 times better claimed HP & torque than a $5,000+ Z51 package it looks like something I would want, and likely others that actually had a C8 Corvette, should they know of it.
Great VFM, in line with partly what the base C8 Corvette is all about. Sticking to that VFM notion is what I would do. Maximising that, making the base C8 Corvette even more of a VFM performance vehicle.
It may well invalidate the GM warranty, though if easily replaced, for servicing etc, it can be swapped over to get around this. Becoming dab handed in this after a while. Laborious maybe but many will go that extra mile to get that extra performance.
A fair bit more can be squeezed out of that GM LT2 engine anyway. GM/Chevrolet have hardly brought it out up to its max engine output.
Later model years could well see up to 30hp or so increases with official factory modifications.
This Halltech Hornet Cold Air Intake for under $1,000 is seriously worth considering.
It may even improve MPG so that saving would over time partly go towards its initial cost.
You lucky people having a C8 Corvette, I hope you appreciate having such a phenomenal performance vehicle as this. American Exceptionalism, a clear case of it.
The artwork of Jack Kirby, the Apollo Moon program and as of late the C8 Corvette range, 3 examples of American Exceptionalism worthy of mention here.

As would a TVS3100 Eaton based Supercharger, when that becomes Publicly available & can be successfully applied to that LT2 engine, and later perchance the E-Ray as well should that also host the humble LT2 engine.
What a VFM package when applied to the E-Ray that would be, (with perchance a few engine mods to withstand the power increase!).
With All wheel drive, with the addition of its expected electric/battery driven motor/motors a total of 1000hp+ would be easily attainable, a poor mans ZORA it will likely be referred to later on, should that 350hp Supercharger at a later stage be able to be fitted.

The 'potential' of these performance vehicles should always be considered along with its initial power output.
All a part of your American car culture isn't it, modding them up yourself.

No
We have an HTC due in next week for test fitment. Right now it looks like it should work, but we will have real life verification next week sometime.

It's not CARB certified.
Does this intake void your warranty?
Shouldn’t. The dealership would have to prove the intake caused the issues directly. Look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

@@MrJrolon1975 We have many options to lower your Z51. How low are you trying to go? Also Halltech Intake is our #1 choice at this time so definitely pick that up.
@@ParagonPerformance Maybe 1 inch, 1.5 lowered. Are your springs good enough for that?
@@MrJrolon1975 The lowering springs alone will drop it 1 inch, maybe a little more once they "settle".

the gaskets that come with this kit are complete and total trash. I wouldn't recommend buying this kit based on that alone. My gaskets won't stick so I'm stuck until tomorrow when I can uber to a shop and try to find a replacement. garbage.

Fun to watch, but if you want to Provide Useful information to the average Joe Who who spends all of their expendable money on one of these joy toys Who should get the work done by a professional. You should tailor these videos to give them that kind of information Otherwise, these are just Icandy useless videos.
