A little silicone on flange of filter makes it go much easier, and come off too.

Hey Matt, you are clearly an expert in taking you trunk apart and air filter area. I had seen similar results in HP with the air filter, the throttle body we will see. Good Job keep up the good work.

What do you suggest and why? thinking abou t getting a c8 and dont know if i should leave it stock or change anything
@@RecruitIsMyUA-cam get one and leave it stock for a little while then start modding it the way you want. It really depends on what you like and but more than that what you can afford. Are you happy with the wheels? Do you like the sound? The first thing I’m doing to mine is xpel. Exhaust is next.....I’ve almost purchased everything I want more than once, but didn’t because my car still hasn’t been built 😩😆. (Oct). Best regards....
@@RecruitIsMyUA-cam you might also be happy just leaving it stock. I’ve lightly modded every corvette I’ve owned with Borla exhaust K&N filters and an intake. My current C7 is the first one I’ve left bone stock and been happy with....

That’s a pretty in depth installation for an air filter, i guess I’ve never had to replace an air filter on a mid-engine car lol

I have had the aFe Magnum FLOW Pro 5R Air Filter in my C8 now for over 2 months with out any issues, showed a nice improvement on the DynoJet on my C8 over the RPM range. Nice bang for $83.55. Did not try the TKO replacement filter so I can't really compare. K&N is also developing a OEM replacement from what I been told.
Is that the twin intake (expensive one) ? If you don't mind sharing what was the dyno difference between stock? I'm debating either doing the filter or the intake system.
@@bryceerban947 Had Both on, first the complete system and then the filter only. Wow the complete system is awesome with the two large inverted cone filters is worth the price alone by the sound I got when you put the pedal down or when down shifting. Had no issues with complete system or the OEM replacement filter alone. The complete High flow CAI system you are going to be very pleased with, really noticed the difference in the awesome intake sound. Guess the performance numbers would depend on the Octane your state has, I believe the owners manual states not to use below 93 Octane or you may cause engine damage (here we are limited to 91 octane). The production CAI system I believe is on pre order and with available date posted on aFe's page.
@@richarddjohanson That's good to hear. We have 93 here. Most of this stuff came out about the time I put her to hibernation. I got about 5k miles on her from June to December though. I'm just looking for these little touches. It's nice to see the practical application of these mods especially for those of us that have to vicariously live through others for a few more months!
@@bryceerban947 Another improvement is that am the first C8 with the aFe power performance sway bar set on, noticed a huge difference soon as I drove. I currently am waiting for my new HRE FF11 wheels to arrive, the oem wheels are heavy and are sunk in the wells. Reduced rotating weight makes for a nice improvement.
Yeah I noticed I pull on my buddy with the GT3RS now with the new filter and ported throttle body! Awesome mod! I’m gunna have to try the sway bars! You got an in for a sponsorship?!
My C8 is being shipped next week. 2020 program car never sold low vin number. Will look into your mods once it gets here.

Learning so much about the C8. Have mine now but to much snow on the ground. It has been in the garage since delivered via truck. Will the air filter work with other modes that you install. I just want the filter, will it increase HP
They claim 11hp and 9tq or the other way around if I remember correctly! Yes you can do just the air filter and not the others if you want.
Any chance you have plans to do a CABIN air filter replacement video? I've been looking on info of where it is on the C8 and haven't found anything yet.

I did the ported throttle body and cold air intake. Now throwing CEL and codes. Runs like crap.
Gotta take it in to reset. Hopefully that’s all that’s needed.
Did you have any similar issues?
Never, but I just had aftermarket air filter and no cold air intake
@@RWDC8Z turns out it was the ported throttle body. I replaced with OEM and all is right in the world.

Honestly that's pretty easy for the 11hp. I'm curious how it stacks up to the AFE system. For that price even the sound is a big win.

I believe that air filter help. But I believe if you find a tuner. You will unlock extra hp. Like with my car I gain 60+ hp with bolt on and switched to e85

Great filter, but dyno tests show no more than 5.5 hp increase.
That is all the power it claims to give out, so at least it does what it claims, will be installing mine soon

@@RWDC8Z man I wish you went in the other direction....I did filter first then a week later the throttle body....I couldn’t hear a difference in the intake ....then I added the throttle body and man you hear the sucking now

so i purchased it to get ready with all the other items that are on the way till the car arrives. unfortunately they charged my card and they said that the transaction did not go through...grrr
Oh no, I’m sure they will get it figured out!
Hi. Sorry you're having an issue. Actually, if your order did not go through (which is the case here) then we did NOT charge your card. When you enter your information, its your bank that either ok's the process or not. We have nothing to do with it. We are simply a vehicle that just passes the info you entered to the banks. What Visa & Master card does on ALL credit card transactions regardless if its online or not, they put a hold on that amount which is why your statement will say "Pending Charge". It stays like that until your bank takes process's the order/takes the money. Visa/Master will release it usually in 2-3 business days. Again, we have nothing to do with any of that. You need to speak with your bank. I will admit we are having problems with orders out of the USA at his time. We are working on that. Again sorry for any inconvenience.
@@tkoperformance thanks for replying...i work in IT of the same issuing bank..i will probably check tomorrow...but it must be something from the bank or the service that you utilize as i have bought over 10k over of merchandise with the same card from vendors in the USA...
@@ahmedf222 And that all could very well be true. My point was to correct your original statement that we "Charged your card" which we did not. Yes by all means check with the banks. Hopefully you can get it resolved. As mentioned, we have had issues with cards outside of the US. So feel free to hit up one of our distributors.
