- After 5 months of letting the system balance out, I am finally stocking the tank with 12 Panda Corydoras and 1 African Dwarf Frog (plan on getting 3 more ADFs). This plastic storage container pond experiment is going quite well I'd say! Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy, Fish Friends!

I am back in your neighborhood catching up with that pond project you did! Panda cories!!! woohoo :) Love how you are connecting the pothos to the rack - this is going to look incredible as time goes on. I am more and more tempted to get one of these racks to try out. Gotta say that you are a pennywort master - looking great above the water! what light is this using and what temperature are you keeping this at? I love your humor and video style. I need you to come show me how to do the dragon stone thing. The airstone is PERFECT and works perfectly with the stone. Too cool!
OnefishTwofishROC HI 1F2F!
The pothos is almost touching the top rack! Definitely invest in a rack if you want to save room. I used to have all my tanks dispersed on every one of my night stands it was a mess that I somewhat miss haha. If you do end up buying a rack, make sure the provided wood or metal is strong enough. I had to cut out my own wood because the provided wood was too weak.
As for the dragon stone, I just put a bunch of rocks together haha. I made sure everything looked “natural” - no distinct corners, missing spaces, etc
Thank you so much for the kind comment. I’ve been breeding my albino cory catfish, super exciting stuff. Gonna go and see what’s new on your channel
What a beautiful tub! Glad I got to see the update with its new inhabitants.
Panda corys are so cute!

sarah K thank you, Sarah!!
Great content bro
Hi , Really enjoyed your videos on CORYS. Etc. So GREAT to see young people PUTTING energy into Life. I am a retired zoo keeper, and recently got back into AQUARIUMS. As a kid. In the 1950s. I had pet fish, hamsters, and 2 Bantam chickens. AQUARIUMS, and the variety of fish, have come a long Way. Never paid much attention to the corys, but. Now I realize....I love them. At present I have: Melinis, and peppered CORYS. CORYADORA Paleatus. I subscribed to your channel, like your ideas , and visuals. Keep up the good work...!
Ron Shook thank you, Mr. Shook!
I try to make my videos as entertaining as I can. I love animals so much. I am glad to hear that you were a zoo keeper, someone with the genuine compassion for animals in their heart!
Without a doubt, aquariums are so fun and enjoyable. Each tank is a blank slate and is so unique. Definitely a hobby I enjoy very much. I just wish more people could understand its true value!
Thank you for commenting and thank you for caring for the zoo animals. Keep me updated on your aquariums, Ron!
Edit: Ah, yes. Corydoras are my FAVORITE fish. Their schooling behavior, little mustaches, and ferocious appetite are really what I love about them. I am currently raising albino cory fry.
Awesome vid this video is the reason why I'm making on this Xmas thank you so much keep growing you're channel and raccoons up subs love from Australia thank you
Alan you da man dude love the video and you guys are for sure awesome and silly gotta love it 👍💪🐠🎉🤯
Nice to see you again buddy
Sweet tank guys! I have two 45 gallon Tupperware tanks outside, they are connected by pump and waterfall...love the video!
Update needed!
I haven't had time to record at all. What I can tell you is I decided to move the panda cory's to my 59 gallon thrift store tank! The tub is currently inhabited by snails and orange neocaridina shrimp culls. Sorry to disappoint ya!
Beautiful set up! I have panda Cory’s myself they are amazing 😎 Giving me great ideas for when I have to bring my fish in from the mini pond after the Summer
Thank you for the kind words! For this specific tub being only max 14 gallons, I actually wouldnt recommend adding the cories in. Although it provides a lot of surface area, they were still too shy and did not thrive IMO. I recently moved them into a 55 gallon tank and they are very spontaneous now! You could use those larger, more structurally sound tubs though!
What has your experience been with outdoor ponds? I'm not sure the area I live in is suitable for tropical fish
neighborhoodman323 Cory’s can be pretty shy if they are not in a large enough group and if they don’t have enough plants, driftwood, and rocks to hide behind. The mini pond experience had been beyond amazing! I keep fancy guppies with pepper Cory’s who can handle lower temperatures. The tub is about 40 gallons. I have water hyacinth, and floating anacharis and black lava rocks. I live in the Northeast. Gets pretty hot during the Summer and cooler at night time. I run a heater at night. I’ve been getting beautiful colors out of my guppies breeding during the Summer. I bring the live stock back inside in September. So far it had been a wonderful experience
@@Mr345696 Oh, man. Thanks for sharing. I totally want to do that in the future.
neighborhoodman323 you’re welcome. And what type of substrate did you use? Looks like a mix of play sand and pete gravel?
Frank Fazio I used pool filter sand from a local pool supply store! Usually don’t have to rinse them out much
Nice! I just subscribed 👍😎🐠🐠
Nice one I subbed
I'm using plastic storage containers and I have problems with bowing and with scratches in the plastic. Gonna try the toothbrush.
I ended up placing the lid frame back on but cut out the middle to reinforce the container from bowing. And yes, try a tooth brush!
Can you give link from where i can buy container like this
Would have been an amazing set up for a betta. They love long shallow water setups!
That would be so fun! I think a betta would go along very well with the corys! Thanks for commenting =)
Can I ask what filter u used Cuz I have the same kind of bin its long in width but small in height and I can never find a filter that fits
I recommend a low laying sponge filter such as this. I ran a hang on back filter and had to cut down the length of the intake and cover it with a sponge. Eventually i took it out because I was tired of the sponge being jammed up with gunk too often.
Here is a link to the sponge filter I have :www.chewy.com/hikari-bacto-surge-high-density-foam/dp/183419?Hikari&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrIf3BRD1ARIsAMuugNto2ZyAOT0Dv0SkVXgtd0Mcdve2gov6sd8JQxNYI2K7g0aKzADBjAAaAsV6EALw_wcB
@@neighborhoodman323 thank u!!
What size is that plastic container?
Inspiring video omw to walmart for some jeans and a container
Walmart clothes are underrated. I actually bought Michelle those cute patagonia type fuzzy sweaters that sorority girls always wear at Walmart for a fraction of the price. Let me know if you end up going through with the plans! Make sure you get either a very strong plastic type or a very low rising container like mine. I tried using a greater volume/height tank and the pressure proved too much.
Would you reccomend anyone doing this? setting up a pond tote?
Personally, no. I would not recommend this specific container. There was a lot of unnecessary modifications that I had to do. The only reason why I did this was because of it's unique low rising dimensions and because it's at the bottom of my aquarium rack. I would, however, recommend those super strong pond containers that most people use as indoor ponds!
Where do you get your plants from
The pothos plants are from homedepot, I got anubias from petsmart, and the floating water lettuce from a local store. I would look into buying online. I've started doing that lately and have had no problems.
Can u make another pond...mini and simple...I loved your way how u take care of this pond..
Long time no see how have your tests gone brother if you have taken them yet. I know I'm a noob at life
Emily Bogatay what’s up! It’s been a long time. School is going great. Clan war leagues is the new update it’s super fun
What is ur container dimension?
Sorry for the late late reply. UA-cam had not notified me. It's 33.9 in x 18.8 in x 7 in

Your aquarium doesn’t bow?
My account got disabled I had that since 2013 There is a slight bow, the tank is so low that it’s pretty stable. However, I have put on the lid that it comes with (just cut out the insides) as a brace.
Im working on a more aesthetic brace, maybe an acrylic brace?
I’m not too sure about the long term integrity of the tank. For all I know, it could be a ticking time bomb. It’s been running for a good while though!
do you still have it ?
watch me Yea! Everyone is doing great. I even stocked 5 more african dwarf frogs in the tank.
@@neighborhoodman323 VERY NICE
watch me THANK YOU
neighbourhoodman and neighhoodwoman..... nice
Can you put 4 common gold fish in that?
Army Animal Nerd MyDays Hey! Thanks for commenting. Nah, I definitely wouldnt. Common goldfish get super bug. This is only a 14 gallon container (10 with all the substrate and rocks). I think cory catfish or other nano fish would work though!
@@neighborhoodman323 I know they get big sigh my cousin got those feeder fish and gave some to me and I don't have the heart to kill them. I don't really know what to do with em.
Army Animal Nerd MyDays Damn that’s unfortunate. I’m sure they can stay in there temporarily. Some people have indoor fish ponds with really strong containers made for that kind of stuff. Maybe look into that, but they can be very expensive to set up. I’m sure they could do well in a 60+ gallon tank, but that also is expensive just for a couple common goldfish that was dumped on you. You might have to euthanize them if you really need to. People have released them into ponds and lakes and they’ve become invasive species, unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that you were put in that position. Let me know what you end up doing and good luck!
@@neighborhoodman323 they're not big right now so hopefully I'll try to find a bigger tank for them when they do out grow the tank. I really hope that I won't have to kill them I can't just give them away either no one wants common gold fish as a pet they only want them as live bait and I can't do that. Let's see what the future brings.
Army Animal Nerd MyDays have you heard of Petco’s dollar per gallon sale? You could get some pretty big tanks for really cheap! Imagine a 40 or 60 gallon for only $40/$60!
Hi I know I am Late Would this be possible for small koi 2 to 3 Inches.
Thanks and subbed
Adult koi need like ~200 gallons as adults, so unless you do this with a ~75 gallon tub, and for a small amount of time (like 6 months), it wouldn't work
Thanks for the sub! And yes as Martin mentioned, I also would not recommend koi in a tank. I actually have moved the panda corys into a 20 gallon tank. I personally felt like even this tank was too small for them volume wise. Thank you!
wow it's so nice that you're still replying in your old videos, i really like your content btw
Martin Tejos Appreciate it so much! I don’t get very many comments, so I make it my goal to respond to everyone!
