    I LOVE your name - it always makes me smile whenever I run into you on here! It sounds like a sitcom character! lol. Do not ever change it! This project is AWESOME - I am always interested in these container tanks / ponds. Good call on dealing with the bowing issue. Home Depot dust .... a fact of life lol. Nice job with this!!! Haha with the Mickey Mouse voice...love your sense of humor. Gotta say that your taste in music is spot-on too with the chillhop goodness. Loveeeee that stuff and will check that artist out! I have another tank project or two here in the early stages - I want to dirt both and I had forgotten about pool sand. I have a couple different subtrates and like trying different ones. You have a GREAT eye for scaping - and your tips are very GOOD ones. It looks VERY natural - fish and critters love caves - there is nothing unnatural about the cave you did - if anything it looks like it has been there since the beginning of time... :) Fantastic job on this video! Cannot wait to see this one grow out. Lovely girl and cute dogs! Hello to everyone!

    about the max limit of most plastic bins is about 20 gallons, using the top with cuts in it to serve as a brace. Anything more you'll need rubbermaid bins, simply due to their durability, and they can hold a lot more, but you can't see through them, only from the top.
    Another saver is getting playsand from hardware stores, which will run you about 8 bucks for a 50 pound bag, and is also sterile. You can mix in organic potting soil as well, layering aquarium gravel at the bottom for stability of a root system, the soil layered, with playsand on top to get a similar aesthetic. Obviously it still is murky, and the potting soil will mix a bit with the sand, but it gives a bit of a pond bottem feel while stll allowing live plants to be put in

    Containers are kool , one should be careful to remember some fish do jump so a lid on the container would be great. • @neighborhoodman323
      @neighborhoodman323  3 роки тому +1

      Hey, Thanks for commenting! So, a pond without a filter IS possible, but it can be a bit more difficult to maintain. IT can be possible with enough pond plants to keep the oxygen levels good and for waste conversion. You'll probably also need some type of aeration device like a bubbler. This will prevent the water from going stagnant where biofilms from oftentimes harmful bacteria can build up on the surface of the water. You'd probably have to also do more water changes as well. If you can get a filter, that would be your best move. Hope that helps - Alan

      JoshuaCapell Hey, Josh! Thank you, sir! Are you talking fancy gold fish? I wouldn’t recommend common goldfish, but i bet you’d be able to keep a small, younger fancy gold fish in there until it gets a little bigger! The depth is only about 6-7 inches which isn’t too high. So the answer is yes but only temporarily!

    • @joshuacapell3997
      @joshuacapell3997 5 років тому +1

      neighborhoodman323 thank you I was talking about a common goldfish. This is because the size container I am getting is a 50Gallon tub. Also what filtration should I use for a tank like this? Thanks for the reply 👍

    • @neighborhoodman323
      @neighborhoodman323  5 років тому +1

      JoshuaCapell make sure you have the really strong tubs! In my video I highlight my previous failure by getting a 30 gallon container with plastic that had weak structural integrity. I definitely think you’ll be able to keep a couple of common gold fish in that 50 gal tub for a year or two or even longer!
      I would fill it up with water for a week and see if it bows or not.
      As for filtration, a hang on the back or sponge filters should suffice. Good luck! That sounds like a fun project

      Australian Bleach honestly, The tub doesnt save you much money in terms of volume. But for the unique shape, it’s cheaper than an expensive low rise tank. Fish keeping is pretty expensive:
      Tub:~$15
      Sand: $15(50 pounds though)
      Dragon Stone: $25
      Aqua clear filter: $30 (but varies)
      Nicrew 28 inch light: $37
      Total: around ~$122?? Sorry it’s 5 am and i just woke up and did the math in my head :D

    • @neighborhoodman323
      @neighborhoodman323  5 років тому +1

      Cristian Gutierrez hey, Cristian! This is a 14 gallon tank. With the substrate, rocks, and lowered water level (because holes in the handles), it’s probably only 10 gallons. Due to the low volume and low height, I would not recommend adding common goldfish in anything smaller than a 50 gallon in the long run. Even then, they’ll outgrow it. I personally think common goldfish should be in khoi ponds as they can reach over a foot long. As for the fancy goldfish, the black moors, I would also not recommend adding them in here because of the low height and volume. Petco is currently having a dollar per gallon sale if you want to get a 30 gal tank for your 2 black moors. Sorry, I know this isn’t the greatest thing to hear, but it’s about what’s the best for your pets! Thanks for commenting let me know if you have any other concerns
