In Payday 2s Panicroom, ALL spawns unlock within 20 seconds. Cops make it to the roof before you do, jumping in from any side building window at any time. In Payday 1, you get amazing bottlenecks to hold enemies off (There are 3 balconies inside the main hall of FWB as well as plenty of cover on the ground) that are slowly taken away with time to punish your slow work. I wonder if they ported these over from 1 to 2 and actually changed the 100+ different timers all to say 20 seconds, or if they rebuild the maps and never came across them.
Oh, and the Talking. Since it was always the same 5 guys, they could actually talk about the mission. During the Diamond heist, Brain was actually caught without a plan and Dallas had the idea to take the Manager hostage, taking over the plan. Brain was the 19 year old smart hacker kid, nothing more.
The talking part was on point. I love the mission briefing interactions. In PD2 it’s just the sound of the van engine. You just described why I love this game in a way I couldn’t have done myself.
We do know what the cameras do. Destroying them disables some map events. On FWB for example, destroying all pre-vault cameras for example will disable one of the two regular sniper spawn waves. Destroying all the cameras in the vault will disable two of the four elevators, reducing spawn volume.
if I may, according to the wiki, police intel has a specific effect on each heist with cameras. For example, on Slaughterhouse, Destroying the cameras reduces the rate at which special units spawn. same with diamond heist. first world, i think its only for the no photo achievement.
Interesting. I used to think that the only purpose of the cameras is to tell the cops exactly where your crew is, so destroying them would result in the cops not being able to find you as fast.
Destroying cams make you disable game events+ looping strategy works for example ... In first world bank when you camp sometime at vault corridor 4 elevators will open and enemies will spawn there if you deastroy fast all vault cams only 2 elevators should open + from hard difficulty when you exit vault at main corridor you got 40% chance like 6 snipers will wait for you if you destory all vault cams you lover this event chance from 40% > 30%. At diamond heist you you deastroy halfway cams you make specials spawn is deacreased/spawn slower. At slaughterhouse the more cams you shoot the dozer will spawn a lot of slower. At no mercy this cams gives nothing only for stealth part :)
You can still remove any attachments the progression unlocks by finding them in your skill tree, in the pause menu. This will not remove the upgrade, just change its appearance.
I remember playing payday the heist back on my ps3 and instantly fell in love with the franchise. Sucks that payday 3 just doesn’t hit the same feelings 😔
another thing you could've mentioned about the charatcers in PD:TH compared to PD2 is the communication that the in-game characters have since there's only 4 heisters to voice, the voice work and voice lines are waaayy more apperent on the OG compared to pd2, which is udnerstandable since PD2 has so many heisters that voicing every single one of them to have lines correlating to every single heist and stuff would be a nightmare for example, in the first world bank, in PD2 the characters dont have many comments about getting the thermite and such, mostly just being a ''I got it!'' when they grab the can meanwhile in pd:th the characters will say ''I got the drill and one can of thermite'' and if nobody grabs the second, they'll say ''Somebody, pick up the extra can of thermite!'' hell in No mercy the characters even talk with bain once you get the sample going over something like bain: alright im calling the elevator, it might take a while, it's stopping on every floor and i have to keep resetting the system any member of the gang: How long do you think? the hospital is being overrun! bain: i say...about X minutes some mods did help on this by getting voice lines from the safe house and using them on the characters that dont have them (including the 4 classic ones too, by grabbing PD:TH lines) but even then, it's not really THAT good compared to the OG
Yeah, you are right. In PD2 they generally just recorded some voice lines that could really fit anywhere, they weren't much specific. some characters don't even call each others names at all. they just say "follow me".
3:20 LIE Payday: The Heist is MORE polished than Payday 2 It's just unhinged, it's more visible in battle, the AI. This game gives me more stress in combat than PD2(and i do enjoy it); bc it has a very competent enemy IA that KNOWS when to push or even CAMP(damn these mfs)
All of those points are true but it doesn't really have anything to do with polish. PD:TH is much buggier compared to Payday 2. Your points, while being true, are about the level of difficulty in combat.
payday 1 feels so much more realistic and intense. I had 700+ hours on p2 and even 2nd lowest difficulty felt extremely hard. Not having health regen is quite dangerous
What I loved about The Heist is that you’re a *team*, in 2 and 3 people focus more on trying to be a one man army and as a result most of the teamwork comes from throwing bags, while most of the people run off to do their thing. Most teamwork in 2 or 3 would be things like Crew Chief (2) or building for trading civilians for 4+ health/armor kits (3), meanwhile in The Heist a single bulldozer could wipe the team if nobody works together, especially on tighter heists. You can’t solo everything and doing so is only worth it if the rest of the team just isn’t available. Turning on water is dangerous for god’s sake! You can solo especially without bots but it’s MUCH harder than the other games. Another thing I liked was the small, punchy arsenal you had in the game. In 2 all the weapons range from “oh god don’t use this!!” to “ONE HIT THE DOZER!!”, meanwhile in The Heist they all played their own roles. You had the AMCAR for all-rounding, AK for DPS at the cost of recoil and ammo pickup, M308 for longer ranges and a shotgun for “closer ranges”. Sure they weren’t all hitters (locomotive and B9-S) but the fact any loadout could work in 145+ really makes the game much more enjoyable in my opinion.
the biggest flaw of PD1 was AI having a legit wallhack. All cops knew where to shoot the exact moment you peek from a corner. The "armor" was more like a "timer" you had to kill a cop before it kills you. Playing PD1 was like a one big case of paranoia
I've 100%-ed payday the heist, even joined the secret group. I gotta say, this is my favourite payday game. I like how grounded in reality it is and how professional it feels. 4 heisters really is quality over quantity. They have a lot of personality. Every heist has its own feel.
Personally I think PDTH is still the most immersive one, thanks to the police design and because the crew members are actually talking with each other and commenting on things during the levels.
Endless assult is in payday2 you just don’t see it unless you know it’s there, it has the same triggers as payday the heist for the same maps… such as securing the money on bank, then detonating the wall activates endless assult. Though its use in payday3 is a joke as it comes far to quickly aka 1 breather or no breathing period between the first assult wave! Also weapons dont upgrade as you use them in the heist, your weapons and talents and your character as well as deployables, all level up through your class progression tree, maxing each tree is very helpful but takes a long time, this unlock can your weapons as well as increases the stats, weapons can be toggled for cosmetics if you want though! Also for classes you can change them mid heist so you can easily spec into what and where you want the next set of xp to go! As all money in the heist is xp!
0:55 Funny thing is, though Heat is very, *very* loosely based on detective Chuck Adamson's pursuit of the real Neil McCauley (yes they used his real name for the film, dead men don't have to pay royalties lol), this conversation did actually happen in real life, where the detective and McCauley sat at a diner and bonded a little over shared differences. In fact, this conversation was what encourage Micheal Mann to make Heat in the first place.
I forever will love the entire payday franchise. I don’t know why I fuck with 3 so much cough cough it’s the new wolf VA and the gun play but PD:TH was the shit and got me into gaming
3:19 "PDTH being less polished - showcases rare bug" As if PD2 is anywhere close to being a polished game (hell it actually used to be better a decade ago), on top of that, all the PDTH ports play and look worse in 2. 15:00 "There isn't a better or worse gun" False. Balance in PD:TH is not that good, and there is a very clear, undisputable meta. Every pistol sucks major ass in comparison to the Bronco which is horribly overpowered for a Pistol (more like a pocket Primary), M308 is the only weapon in the game with long range accuracy while also having no real downsides, and the GL40 blows up shields + cops on the side because the other alternatives are peashooters (Compact-5/Mark-11) or are just downright garbage (Locomotive). The only thing you could really argue is that the AK and Reinbeck are sidegrades to the M308 on specific maps and that's about it. 17:19 You completely skipped over actual "skills" which in this game are called Equipment and Crew Bonus and just talked about upgrades for the Deployables instead.

You made a video that makes me wanna comment on so many things you coverd and didn't cover but then my comment would get too long, so I wanna briefly add a thank you for making a interesting video on a game I love. I discovered PDTH after It had been out for a while and for me It perfectly nailed the feeling of being in a crew of professional heisters, from the interactions between crew mates to the mission scenarios. I pre orderd pd2 cause I wanted to support the studio and they did make a lot of improvements but I feel like personally once they started adding silly characters like the first was the russian hockey player and other silly missions the game lost a lot of the charm for me but I get that It allowed them to appeal to a broader audience and make more money and thus a more succesful game. This was still longer than I had planned It to be so If you made It to the end thanks for reading and have a nice day
As long as the characters they add and their voice-acting is good with nice interactions between the rest it's fine. Some examples are Sydney and Jacket, they are amazing characters which raise the immersion of the game overall.
10:47 I feel like they paid Nintendo or someone a lot of money to get Joy but since the Switch port was horrible, they needed to use her somewhere to justify whatever they paid for Joy
Yeah they paid Nintendo for Joy, hence the named her Joy, for the Joycons of Nintendo Switch. I'm fine with her being back but I was expecting someone more prominent first, we got Joy before Houston or wick? really?
the future of payday and how star breeze has developed their franchise so much overtime i seriously didn't have many issues with payday 3 i have been playing since launch and love the game and i think its unfair to compare payday 3 to payday 2 after a decade of updates i was also surprised to see how little payday 2 launched with and how many basic features were missing like showing downs and team Ai carrying bags also that you could not pick your heist and instead had to wait in crime net until the desired difficulty and heist came up also not being able to restart the heist is crazy but by saying this i also see how much overkill adapted to its problems and overcame them to form the perfect heisting game if we look at payday 3 as a step forward imagine what updates could do considering payday 3 is way more refined on launch and now with little server issues but instead mostly only personal complaints i can see that payday3 is getting back on track and yes I'm aware people want offline mode and want a upgrade to the amour system but we have to take are wins as wins and see that payday 3 launched with way better optimization and better basic features then in payday 2 so i hope people can look past that rough launch and see the game for what it is a fresh start to a payday 2 successor i also think a great idea for star breeze to relaunch the game with the year one edition and promise alongside to the relaunch is to add the updates that the community wants to see this would show that they are both determined and dedicated to making payday 3 the game we all hoped it was yes the dlcs are good no one is complaining about new content but i want to see improvements in the base game like how they upgraded payday 2 overtime and i seriously hope and pray we all get the payday 3 we all dreamed of playing as a diehard fan of the series seeing this game die would be so devastating im always been a fan of horde shooters and FPS all my life i remember playing payday the heist for the first time and loving it i always loved the feeling of being the bad guy robbing banks with goofy clown masks its always been my favorite franchise ever since i was little i would always get home from school after a bad day and just load up payday and play all day with my friends now im 20 and and still playing payday over many other popular games I'm always going to stick with the series as long as i breath

I'd play payday 1 if I want to play 'tactical' if you know what I mean. It's also far more immersive. If I wanted to get immersed in payday 2, I'd need the right perk deck, heister, weapons, heist, etc. Payday 2s sheer amount of content, mods, and build variety keeps me coming back though. If you want a weird mix between payday 2 and payday the heist, I'd recommend playing one of these mods. **Classic Heisting Reborn** . This mod reverts payday 2 back into it's old version where it was a lot closer to payday the heist. The old ui, skill system, and everything. Also allowing you to play some of the newer heists in old payday. **Eclipse Overhaul** . This mod revamps payday 2 itself to make it more hardcore and slower like payday the heist. You should check these mods out!
As someone who played payday 3 first, before the others, I just can’t play payday 2 because of the graphics and mechanics I wanna but I just hate the mechanics and graphics. Starbreeze/overkill would make BANK if they made a PAYDAY; THE TRILOGY game, as long as it came with all three games with some new ui and at least the graphics and mechanics of payday 4

Yeah, I agree with what you say. Payday: The Heist has to be the best. Four criminals makes senses as the squad. I’m okay with adding Houston. I never really like the rest of the characters but I liked Jacket and John Wick but didn’t play as them much. I mostly used the og crew and Houston. Payday 2 had a pre-beta that had a slow and dark grit which I saw a video of. It seemed like overkill had some change with it. I agree with the many heisters they put in payday 2. It doesn’t make sense to put this much characters. I was hyped for payday 3 but I wasn’t expecting that big of a down turn because of online only which pissed me off when I tried to play on PlayStation. The most part of payday 2 I think I also have one part I hate is the story. Story is important, it felt like it made the payday gang look like good guys and cops bad guys in my opinion. The criminals have to be the villains and the cops to be heroes. The whole secret ending pyrimd was not favorite because it feels weird that some magic gets added.

Payday the heist is better than payday 2 in everything gameplay-wise (but well, graphically payday 2 doesnt look good either but that isnt a problem for me, I like when I can make my games uglier for FPS) unfortunately does not have lot of missions and finding ppl is always hard I guess gun selection could be another con, but honestly on payday 2 after all these years I still havent even used half of the weapons available in the game yet (and probably never will) Its always hilarious to me how payday the heist is harder with just 25 cops spawning instead of 100 like payday 2
11:02 I have seen only 1 person playing as rust in payday 2, a guy I managed to met 5 times and the guy does not like when ppl uses akimno weapons (he kicks you for it) Typical rust user))

God, I used to farm overdrill day in and day out in PD1. It was fun, but you're right about the simplicity, it really limits its replayability.
Ah the overdrill. I did it once and suddenly jumped 5 million levels without having any idea what even happened.
if I may, according to the wiki, police intel has a specific effect on each heist with cameras.
@@ITzVD it was the common belief back tthen, yes
@@maciejstopa9929 kinda what i said, i just couldnt find what the cameeras trigger in first world bankm apart from the achivement

I remember playing payday the heist back on my ps3 and instantly fell in love with the franchise. Sucks that payday 3 just doesn’t hit the same feelings 😔
@@sickxmotionz True but Payday 3 is special in its own way.
another thing you could've mentioned about the charatcers in PD:TH compared to PD2 is the communication that the in-game characters have
since there's only 4 heisters to voice, the voice work and voice lines are waaayy more apperent on the OG compared to pd2, which is udnerstandable since PD2 has so many heisters that voicing every single one of them to have lines correlating to every single heist and stuff would be a nightmare
for example, in the first world bank, in PD2 the characters dont have many comments about getting the thermite and such, mostly just being a ''I got it!'' when they grab the can
meanwhile in pd:th the characters will say ''I got the drill and one can of thermite'' and if nobody grabs the second, they'll say ''Somebody, pick up the extra can of thermite!''
hell in No mercy the characters even talk with bain once you get the sample
going over something like
bain: alright im calling the elevator, it might take a while, it's stopping on every floor and i have to keep resetting the system
any member of the gang: How long do you think? the hospital is being overrun!
bain: i say...about X minutes
some mods did help on this by getting voice lines from the safe house and using them on the characters that dont have them (including the 4 classic ones too, by grabbing PD:TH lines) but even then, it's not really THAT good compared to the OG
Yeah, you are right. In PD2 they generally just recorded some voice lines that could really fit anywhere, they weren't much specific. some characters don't even call each others names at all. they just say "follow me".

Payday: The Heist is MORE polished than Payday 2
It's just unhinged, it's more visible in battle, the AI.

@@ITzVD thick skin gaming
payday 1 feels so much more realistic and intense.
I play Rust, my execution is on the 17th
Rust does have a cool mask, not gonna lie.😆
and he's also RON mf PERLMAN, that's pretty damn cool
I've 100%-ed payday the heist, even joined the secret group. I gotta say, this is my favourite payday game. I like how grounded in reality it is and how professional it feels. 4 heisters really is quality over quantity. They have a lot of personality. Every heist has its own feel.
Agreed. It feels more like a professional crew than Payday 2 or 3.
Rust main here. Yes, we exist
So I have heard. Your kind is rare amongst us players. My kind, the Jacket mains are often called annoying because of the tape recorder.

3:19 "PDTH being less polished - showcases rare bug"
As if PD2 is anywhere close to being a polished game (hell it actually used to be better a decade ago), on top of that, all the PDTH ports play and look worse in 2.

I pre orderd pd2 cause I wanted to support the studio and they did make a lot of improvements but I feel like personally once they started adding silly characters like the first was the russian hockey player and other silly missions the game lost a lot of the charm for me but I get that It allowed them to appeal to a broader audience and make more money and thus a more succesful game.

the future of payday and how star breeze has developed their franchise so much overtime i seriously didn't have many issues with payday 3 i have been playing since launch and love the game and i think its unfair to compare payday 3 to payday 2 after a decade of updates i was also surprised to see how little payday 2 launched with and how many basic features were missing like showing downs and team Ai carrying bags also that you could not pick your heist and instead had to wait in crime net until the desired difficulty and heist came up also not being able to restart the heist is crazy but by saying this i also see how much overkill adapted to its problems and overcame them to form the perfect heisting game if we look at payday 3 as a step forward imagine what updates could do considering payday 3 is way more refined on launch and now with little server issues but instead mostly only personal complaints i can see that payday3 is getting back on track and yes I'm aware people want offline mode and want a upgrade to the amour system but we have to take are wins as wins and see that payday 3 launched with way better optimization and better basic features then in payday 2 so i hope people can look past that rough launch and see the game for what it is a fresh start to a payday 2 successor i also think a great idea for star breeze to relaunch the game with the year one edition and promise alongside to the relaunch is to add the updates that the community wants to see this would show that they are both determined and dedicated to making payday 3 the game we all hoped it was yes the dlcs are good no one is complaining about new content but i want to see improvements in the base game like how they upgraded payday 2 overtime and i seriously hope and pray we all get the payday 3 we all dreamed of playing as a diehard fan of the series seeing this game die would be so devastating im always been a fan of horde shooters and FPS all my life i remember playing payday the heist for the first time and loving it i always loved the feeling of being the bad guy robbing banks with goofy clown masks its always been my favorite franchise ever since i was little i would always get home from school after a bad day and just load up payday and play all day with my friends now im 20 and and still playing payday over many other popular games I'm always going to stick with the series as long as i breath

I'd play payday 1 if I want to play 'tactical' if you know what I mean. It's also far more immersive. If you want a weird mix between payday 2 and payday the heist, I'd recommend playing one of these mods. **Classic Heisting Reborn** .
