Ever since I saw you'r Splinter Cell video I hoped you would do one for Hitman and it was worth the wait. And to answer you'r question about Tenchu, I didn't play every game in the series and it was a long time ago but from what I remember the first two are kind of like Codename 47, Good ideas but haven't aged all that well. Wrath of Heaven (the third one) is really good and it improved everything from the first two games, It's one of if not the best ninja games out there. The 4th one is more of the same from what I remember and I didn't play the rest of the series but I hear a lot of good thing about the last one(shadow assassins), could make for an interesting video.
Also for a sine tangent if anybody's interested of getting hit men 2016 well Xbox users is currently on gold for this month so it's be a good time to get it
One thing I have realized is all targets make the same mistake: “can I have one moment without all of you guards following me around?” Every single time
To be fair though I can imagine it getting annoying having like 4 other ppl with you constantly. Definitely not something you would do when you think a hitman might be after you but still it’s a slight explanation
If I remember correctly, IOi stated that the original idea behind Blood Money’s newspaper was that if you killed the target with an accident and only killed the target, their death would be a minor side section in the papers. If you only killed the target but there were witnesses, they’d get a much larger section, and if you killed too many non-targets, your exploit would get front page. This seems like a neat system, especially for those who like to role play as 47.
Absolution was actually my first Hitman game. I went into it knowing nothing about it or the franchise. My mom and I had such a great time with it. While I know more now and realize it was not at all Hitman, it holds a special place in my heart.
Just in case you ever questioned if it's worth taking the time to create hour long videos like this: It's absolutely worth it. I really enjoy your longform retrospectives on game franchises. I hope you make more in the future!
Blood Money is an incredible game. I remember managing to get a Silent Assassin rating on every mission on Professional difficulty. The game was punishing on Professional, but getting through a mission without raising any suspicion is so satisfying.
my issue with blood money is how easy it is to cheese through everything. you can complete all missions walking in plain sight with your suit dropping coins and get silent assassin rating
@@Lakarak wh-what? It's extremely hard to me, probably cuz blood money is my first hitman game but wherever I walk, guards keep looking at me so I could ultilize the coin, any tips?
I want the next games to make me actually feel like a cold blooded killer. In the new trilogy I felt like a spy killing bad people. I just don’t feel like a Hitman in this new trilogy.
@@cheesuschrists I understand And for your problem, you can actually easily fool the guards Firstly, throwing a coin while they're looking at you is pointless, it just makes them a little suspicious about you and it wastes a lot of time Throw when they're turned around or something, and they instantly go check what's wrong Also, I would think Blood Money was hard as well until I got used to it, but then I realized its child's play after I installed Hitman 2 Silent Assassin
Keep in mind that Hitman: Codename 47 was released in a time where pretty much ALL shooters games had hostile NPCs. Everyone you see is a foe, shoot on sight! And judging by the C47's guides and reviews over on GameFAQs, it confused a TON of people, apparently. Now, isn't it something!
47 must’ve been even more terrifying during those days, a new and confused Agent 47, gunning down everyone he sees just desperately trying to find a target.
@@ThisBirdHasFlown while what you said is true, I think killing everything that moves was still quite a standard in 2000. Hell, Quake 3 was released just a year prior
I remember seeing Colorado in Hitman 2016 and thinking finally all the American voice acting will make sense but then almost everyone had a Cockney accent
@@nelsonw9483 Its weird though how literally nobody in the Paris level has a French accent and then in the Colorado level that actually takes place in America, they actually bothered to give the militia members Australian accents because theyre an Australian militia. It seems kinda backwards.
@@greybayles7955 Nobody in Paris had French accents because they weren't speaking English to begin with. They were most likely speaking fluent French. Whereas the Australians had accents because we heard it as it was without any 'translation'.
My favorite part of silent assasin is the fact that any weapons you have on your person when you clear a level, will instantly be added to your shed. And in the shed, there are outlines of every single unlockable weapon in the game, so can easily tell what weapons you should keep an eye out for when playing levels! Spoilers ahead lads! What out! One of (if not THE) last levels has 47 arriving back at his home base, without any weapons, and the place is swarming with guards. My first playthrough I tried to struggle my way through and kill everyone on the map. The second playthrough I realized "Oh shit, I have my _shed"_
I have to say, the Berlin mission (Apex Predator) in Hitman 3 (2021) with the default starting point is hands down my favorite mission in the entire Hitman franchise.
@@olivepizza2046 they are and it is, but having to actually hunt for your targets, with no support, it was by far my favorite mission next to the Marti Gra in Blood Money
I’ve always thought how 47 isn’t being recognized by federal agencies around the globe. He may commit murders while being hidden and using different disguises. But he always enters a location with the same suit. So he is always being seen as agent 47. At this point, there HAS to be a pattern established because a bald dude wearing a suit and a red tie is always present in places where someone has a weird accident, or mysteriously drowned, chocked, shot in the head.
I like that in WOA this is bypassed by him having a different uniform in every mission. In Hokkaido he wears a kimono, in Paris he wears a tuxedo, in Sapienza he wears a white Italian suit, and so on.
I remember it, like it was just yesterday. Secretly playing Blood Money, my first entry into the franchise, at night, selecting the flatline Mission and i asked myself: what happens, if every person died in an "accident"? So i knocked everybody out, dragged them from across the map up to the second floor into the room with the globe on the first floor and threw those 44 bodies from the handrail onto the globe.... aaaand it paid off! The Titel i received at the end was totally new to my eyes and was called "Versicherungsvertreter" (insurance agent). and due to the words lenght, the newspaper Picture glitched out, making the whole thing unreadable..... still got a memento pic on my nokia :3
haaaaa loved this game, played multiple of times,I think it;s better than the new ones I gues.I hanvent played Hitman latest game though, too high end for pc

Jesper Kyd is so brilliant. Silent Assassin and Contracts had SUCH incredible atmosphere. Part of the reason I played those games dozens of times. God, I love this franchise.
Silent Assassin will always have a special place in my heart - I had the disk and installed it on my primary school computers. Got suspended for a few days but well worth it. I'd just sit at the start screen and listen to the intro music! The Danish National Orchestra did a symphony of the intro music by Jesper Kyd. Really hit me in the nostalgic feels.
Silent Assassin had the jankiest sneaking ever (being detected while disguised for no reason is why most of my missions went loud at some point) but it's definitely the one and only Hitman for me. Great story, amazing soundtrack and fun mission design.
The newspapers were something I really loved in Blood Money - it was like the icing on the cake, didn't make a big impact but it was cool the developers added it Blood Money was also my favourite in the series, so to each their own
Robert Wave I agree except it has a huge impact for me personally. I would keep trying different ways to kill people in the same level to see how the newspaper would report differently. I fed everyone to the crocodiles on that crocodile level wish they would mention it. I really wished they would have expanded the newspaper reporting in the future game but instead they took it away. That was very disappointing for me...
The suspicion meter in Hitman 2 (the original) seems random because it differs per map. It's based upon a reasonable expectation of how likely it would be for someone to recognise that you're in disguise. For example, on the first map, the mafia all know each other, so they very quickly recognise you aren't one of them. It is a bit of a frustrating mechanic sometimes, but it is not random.
The randomness aspect of it is how sometimes guards can blow your cover and sometimes not. Which the video clearly shows and that's what I remember from the level. It's the same for the first map. Not to hate on the game but, random it definitely was.
I think the big issue with the randomness is how Critical played it. I've read everywhere that playing the game at more than 60 fps (or just 60?) breaks the IA completely. I've just finished it yesterday for the first time on ps2 and the IA was mostly consistant, at least WAY more than on that video. Well... dare I say it's my favorite disguise IA in the entire series !
@MR FREEZE-98 this is simply not true. Just play any Singleplayer that comes into your mind and you get the achievements even if you are offline (works with consoles & Steam). The thing with Hitman 2016 and 2018 is that is actually locks you out of content (like Escalations etc) if you are offline which is completely insane...
SE wants to do episodes now. So far the game has been nothing but quality so perhaps, making the games complete in sections is their method of quality control. FFVII remake is episodic as well.
blood money was awesome because the levels weren't linear and there were a zillion ways to get away with it a true puzzle game disguised as combat with plenty of dark humor
@@mcboomsauce7922 they were pretty small though... This game was quite tough on good ol' PS2. I guess it could've been solved with data streaming but I guess it's hard to do that and at the same time track every single NPC movements and actions constantly regardless of player's position (but oh my god they didn't reduce the npc density that much in murder of the crows on PS2, get that PS2 haters)
Hitman: Contracts came out when I was 13 years old and it was my first introduction to the Hitman series on a Playstation demo disc. Hitman: Blood Money was then released and I bought it day one on release, at this point I was a very heavy pot head but the immersion I got from that game was absolutely incredible. From playing Hitman I moved to Kane and Lynch and holy shit.. I loved the story move even though so many people hated it but the online multiplayer... I loved the concept of what they made from it so much. The difficulty of working together and then that split moment of the anxiety of working against either other was so unique..
5:25 "47 isn't particularly resilient", he says over footage of 47 being shot roughly seventy billion times. I know, I know, godmode was on, but I still found it funny.
My cousin had a copy of the demo of Silent Assassin, being the only one in my village to have kind of a... "computer." And he would occasionnally let me watch him playing that demo over and over again - which was the very first mission at the italian villa. Since then, I am in a serious relationship with the Hitman franchise.
I remember hearing it playing on a TV and I quickly looked up because I thought it was a new Hitman game because that’s the only thing I associate with Ave Maria.
2006 was the year my mom bought my first PC. I remember her paying it off for almost three years. The first game I played was Hitman Blood Money and will always have a special place in my life because it comes from a time in my life where my mom sacrificed a lot to keep me in the house and away from the local drug addict teens. I am grateful today
When I was in primary school I was playing Hitman 2 SA and my friend was playing the first Splinter Cell and I remember us both arguing over what was the better stealth game.
Blood money was def one of my favorites. A major step up in terms of overall graphics. Beautiful artistic design. It felt sleek, sexy, but still gritty & raw. That angels & devils party stage. Absolute mastery. I did miss the classical music & European feel in Absolution. An unwelcome departure. Glad it's back on track.
"Agent 47 isn't very resilient" *Takes a rifle round to the back of the head like a tank and keeps going despite having a bullet probably wedged in his frontal lobe*
fuzzycatfur2008 yeah, but one time I walked through a water puddle I threw a phone in and died. That same game I got shot in the head by a sniper and kept on trucking along
29:20 what's crazy is that Absolution was my first game I ever played in the series, but it really felt fun to me. Granted at the time I wasn't as analytical as I am today so I can see all these awful points still, but I do remember having such a fun time. I'm not sure if I'd be nostalgia blind if I ever touch it again.
Yes i was playing like that too... and same for Soldier of fortune (2000) and now i can play at 165hz.. Started from the bottom now we are here. *good sigh*
Blood money was absolutely fantastic in my opinion. It was my first hitman game and I loved every bit of it! And that ending is so damn nostalgic, they even made a reference to it in the recent hitman 2
I remember getting Hitman: Sniper years ago, when it was free on Google Play, and playing for hours on end waiting for a new map... I had found all the hidden secrets and thought there must have been more levels. BOY WAS I WRONG
The worst I ever saw on my computer was back in 2003. I downloaded the doom 3 demo. Ran at most 1fps for 30 seconds before crashing my computer. Good days. *Sips*
I think the Hitman games starting from 2016 are the best ones in the series. I feel like they are not so dark like the first trilogy was, which is a negative in my eyes, but at the same time 47's comments while he blends in, his voice acting, movement, basically his whole character is just amazing. The tons of opportunities are brilliant, i played the Miami level through a whole day and i still didnt do everything i have planned. I think these games are the best way to continue what the og games were about, and im so happy that IO knows what people loved so much about the Hitman series.
Too many missions worth mentioning but Blood Money was awesome simply because of the weapon customization and I agree that Contracts was severely underrated.
Blood Money is my favourite in the serie but I'm surprised that what you find noteworthy about it is the weapon customization, considering you spend the entire game actively trying to AVOID using them
I tried everything, I tried to crouch behind that barrier but a strand of fabric must’ve stuck up from the balaclava because each guard turned around and saw a single strand moving then they went gung ho and I tried walking back to the door where it said disguises are required but someone always shot at me.
@BIGWORM 510 I have Silent Assassin on every mission on Professional difficulty. The disguise system and AI can be unpredictable, but the rest of the game more than makes up for it.
My apologies, I've been drinking and this sounds to me like Kermit the Frog talking about Hitman. So I'm gonna keep imagining that, but I'm subscribing regardless because this was a great video.
Holy shit I read this just as he was starting to talk about Hitman 2 and I could not unhear it for the rest of the video. It was a very well done video regardless.
Silent Assain, and Blood money are my most favourite they give such an early 2000's nostalgic feeling. And the best part is Jesper Kyd's wonderful soundtrack I can never stop listening to!
The Berlin mission in Hitman 3 is one of the most interesting mission locations for a Hitman game, as it gives the proper setpiece that is Hitman's bread and butter: a party setting. This mission feels like nightclub scenes from movies like Mission Impossible, John Wick and many more, and the fact that you have to look for the targets instead of them being handed to you on the Instinct platter is so innovative and amazing!
Not entirely related, but I love that instead of 2 targets who are the “big bads” involved in some evil criminal plot, you have 10 possible targets, of which you only need to kill 5 which gives you a lot of freedom on how you tackle the mission. Also I generally love the idea of trying to evade and chip away at the individual “foot soldiers” if you will, of the group that turned on you and wants you dead. You aren’t killing some big shot gang leader or oil baron, they’re assassins just like you, yet inferior, and instead of running away you have to face them head on in a display of all of 47’s skills. I love the premise of this mission and it’s executed fantastically, also a really fun mission for showdowns in freelancer.
I remember the meat packing plant. Bondage kink party, naked fatties, tortured murdered girl, grab her severed arm for ID, blood everywhere, torture racks. Fuckin' wild man, even GTA is Sesame Street by comparison.
@@ExireHG Yeah, when I think of Hitman Contracts, that mission at the meat packing plant always comes to mind first. Genuinely disturbing shit and very dark tone of the game even by Hitman standards.
I want to see IO take a poll on everyone’s favorite Hitman levels and then recreate them in Hitman 3. Then Hitman 3 would be the only Hitman game I’ll ever need haha.
@@kai64warden86 Yeah I think that's the name, it's been a while since I played blood money and I do believe that would have been a good map if it had multiple objective and a better ending rather than a shootout, the video tape I think was in the guard's staff room, getting there was sort of easy since I basically blasted every single soul that came into my path
My favourite mission is actually similar to the one you are referring to, but it's " St Petersburg revisited" where we need to kill a fellow assassin as in Amendment XXV. What I like about St Petersburg more is how the agency betrays you and tricks you with fake sniper ammo (amazing plot twist) and agent 17 actually would just shoot you like a real assassin out of nowhere if you make noise rather than running away like Parchezzi. It feels more thrilling than Amendment XXV.
What you said about contracts really resonates with me. Back in 06 and 07 it was probably my #1 played game. So many memorable levels. I especially liked the one where you were at that English estate at night and all the guards had hunting shotguns.
Man I'm totally with you, Hitman: Contracts somehow stuck with me more than any other in the series, the overall tone and atmosphere from Contracts left a great impression on me. There's another game where the change to a darker tone and atmosphere also made it memorable was SWAT 4.
Swat 4 was amazing. I read that originally Sierra wanted to push for a story-driven game where all levels are connected, but the game makers instead wanted to make each mission a standalone. Cause that's how it in reality for police officers - each case is it's own story. I feel like the same was in Hitman aswell.
Blood money is still my favorite. The locations were so good. And the kill animations are more satisfying than even the new animations. Each weapon legit gave you 3 animations even the damn fiber wire. And you could actually use the wire on someone sitting down. In the new games it makes them stand up and knock them out.
Hitman Absolution was the first Hitman game I ever played. I remember having a blast the entire playthrough(and every playthrough after that). of course, I also remember having the most Fun on the more Sandboxy levels where your only main objective is to eliminate a target(s) and leave the scene. setting up the perfect Accidental kill, lining up a sniper shot, or just going guns blazing. always had fun. while the game certainly isnt perfect, I always have fun doing my Shenanigans and causing general *Chaos* (and being properly sneaky occasionally) regardless of if it's a sandbox level or linear level. it introduced and hooked me onto the series lol
oh hey Contracts is my favorite too, there's something about the atmosphere of that game, it feels so dark and alone, and I think its the best expression of how a heartless assassin like 47 probably feels inside
When you said Contracts was your favorite in the series, I patted my chest with respect. It's the most underrated of the original 4 and was kinda like the Goldilocks of those 4. The first two seemed very strict and straightforward while Blood Money seemed very garish and "too open and free", yet flat when it came to the gameplay. Contracts was a PERFECT medium when it came to the stealthy gameplay, and the visuals and atmosphere were top notch for 2004. Sure it looks not as good as other titles for its time but the overall feel and look compared to the others made it shine, and yet I rarely hear people talk about it. And the music was an amazing piece to accompany the overall aesthetic. I respect you bro
it pretty much is the most underrated I agree. I think the disguise system is at its best in Contracts. It punishes you when deserved and it gives you room to breathe all at the same time. All of the missions were fun including the remade missions. The gameplay was very good still for a hitman game. A part of me is glad that they remade the hong kong missions to prove that the hong kong missions can be played by adopting the stealth technique to complete them. The Colombia missions however would have been very interesting had they been remade because I believe the developer would have remade those Colombia missions to be played in stealth mode in order to avoid the disastrous shooting that the 1st game did.
@@PeanutButterAndJellyBros That's an interesting take on the hong kong missions, because they were my least favourite part of contracts and at the same time imo the best missions in codename 47. Which is strange, because I love contracts and codename 47 is... well... codename 47
Yes! I enjoyed Blood Money, but Contracts was the first I played and my first PS2 game. I was blown away by the atmosphere and mystique of it all. One of my favorite moments was helping the SWAT storm the Rotterdam ship in disguise. Blood Money and Absolution lacked the exotic feeling of Contracts and SA. I'm glad we get to jet around the world again in the new trilogy, but do wish they had included native languages of the locals. Recently finished the debut, Codename 47, and it was interesting trying to replicate the tactics for the remade missions I originally played on Contracts like stashing a gun in the kitchen in the Seafood restaurant.
The open world, sandbox format of Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 is my absolute favorite of the entire franchise and I honestly cannot see them going back to the old style. If we only got new maps for these games, I’d be totally satisfied
Yeah, I actually liked the newspapers. It was fun to do a madman playthrough where the magazine straight-up shows what hitman looks like just to see the paper.
I loved Hitman 2: Silent assassin, introduced me to the series and i loved the nailgun cheat with the rag-dolls. I never really got with Contracts, i played it but idk it never sat with me. Blood Money is probably my absolute favourite though, i loved that game so much. I loved the newspaper feature, depending on how well you played it got harder if you were guns blazing.
@@low-budgefudge2164 That may be true, but prior to the Xbox One most people called the original xbox, the xbox 1. They may have different official names, but you gotta admit, it's a poor naming scheme that causes way too much confusion to those that play video games on a much more casual level.

As someone who entered the franchise with Blood Money, I appreciate you taking the time to talk about the earlier iterations. I also remember seeing the box art for Codename 47 at the store, but unfortunately I had no computer at the time. You've convinced me to give it a try. Also well made video and great commentary!
@@yojoehojo4291 yes, but also the easiest, you just need the sniper rifle or the hand gun with scope, go upstairs to the locked door that gives access to the upper area of the stage, but you have to kill or knock down the guard, then from that place you kill the actor and the guy in the balcony, it's ultra easy, I think the record is like 49 seconds in this level, mine was like 55 seconds or 52
YOJOEHOJO you can literally run in from the mission entrance, run straight up to the balcony where the ambassador is, shoot him and his boyfriend, and be out in 30 seconds. There’s actually a few other missions that can be done like this. Murder of Crows can be done in a couple minutes with Silent Assassin with a little variance depending on where the Crow with the sniper spawns. (EX: Run to the alley with the piano. Crow chick will be standing under it. Behind the fence where the two guys are, pull out silenced baller and shoot her in the face. Pick up walky talkie. Climb up pole next to her. Take out sniper. Wait for clone crow dude. Shoot him in the face. Then sniper crow dude: there’s apartment buildings that are secluded for you to snipe him. If you picked up the walky talkie, check the map, see where he is. Go to the apartment you need to go to snipe him. Knock out anyone in apartment if needed. Shoot him in the face. Then leave) Not really a flex, Blood Money has been out for almost 15 years. People have been figuring out crazy and fast ways to kill targets and have been posting them online for over a decade for other people to emulate and build on. Shit I wanna play Blood Money now.
@@Pitulio It does feel like theyre trying especially hard to make 47 the "good guy". Like back in Hitman 2 or Blood Money you were just a hitman. You were straight up murdering people, like half of whom didnt deserve it. In the new trilogy it feels like theyre going out of their way to justify everything the characters do like "Hey we gotta kill these fashion company owners to protect someones identity. Dont worry though they auction off information to terrorists so were still definitely the good guys". I dont think its worse, I like the new trilogy's narrative a lot, but it is definitely a change in tone.
@@greybayles7955 It's funny that Diana claims the ICA is a strictly neutral organization, while also noting how each target is a bad person that needs to die.
This was extremely thorough and even handed. It was a pleasure to see the links between the two games I have played in the series so far: Hitman 2, back before I stopped playing videogames, and Hitman 3, this year, after I started playing videogames again. Videogames are amazing these days.
There was also the Hitman HD Trilogy with the three classic hitman games in HD for the Consoles, which were Hitman 2, Hitman Blood Money & Hitman Contracts in one package
That's not a different/new game though. Everything already said about Silent Assassin, Contracts, and Blood Money in this video can be applied to the HD collection without any change, so there would be no point bringing it up in this kind of video.
Contracts, Blood Money, and Absolution (though way, way too edgy) all have my respect for being the dark, properly violent entries in the series. I'm all for what IOI's been doing thus far... well, except the lack of an attachment-type upgrade system and brutality overall. I'm hearing that Hitman 3 will be the most narrative-driven and gritty entry in the latest trilogy, and I do hope they do it right even if its in atmosphere and feel only. But that's just me. Hehehe.
I'd agree with most of what u said I could do without some gimmicky bullshit weapon upgrade system that every sandbox type game must have for whatever fucking reason but other than that I agree
28:05 Fun fact! In the bottom-left corner for Death of a Showman's newspaper, you get a Kane & Lynch teaser! For some reason Lynch is named Mr. Little.
The only good thing about absolution, was the ability to use an actual Revolver. Not armor piercing pistols, an actual six shooter. I know we got them in blood money and previous but idk what the hate for revolvers are in the recent trilogy lol. Same goes with dual wielding.
This has nothing to do with 'hate', they just don't fit in the new trilogy because they don't mix with the clinically clean and/or efficient style of 47 and any of his adversaries. He himself uses a single suppressed 1911 because it's the best concealed carry on a tall man with deep suit pockets, and the security guards he takes down are employed by ultra-rich individuals or corporations with enough money to supply them with H&K weaponry which are arguably the best mass-produced firearms you can get if you're willing to pay the HK Premium. Revolvers fit into Absolution because it's a mess of a game whose greatest merit is the penny dreadful version of Doug Dimmadome as villain, and they didn't fit into the previous games but were there anyway because IO was figuring out what Hitman should be as they were making the series.
@@CErra310 Man I loved absolution, the aesthetic was so clean to me and the way you could use your pistols and other weapons to create distractions. Silent assassin was the first one I ever played and my second favorite but I love absolution. I still remember the bar mission where you turn of the power and start a huge bar fight and while you’re walking to the back bar randoms trying to hit you and you just three button tap them all to sleep😂, I guess I just like the fun of it. It felt the most fun out of all the games, the new ones and even the original one just feel like a chore to eliminate the targets and play through. The point shooting and blending in were cool in my opinion too
One of the coolest things in Blood Money is the end of mission newspaper screen. If you use the hardballers, it will say authorities found .45 bullet casings at the scene. If you use a revolver and don't reload, it will say authorities found no bullet casings. Nice detail. Blood Money is still the best in the series imo
@Jim A "How dare they translate the game for English speaking audiences." I guarantee if you bought a copy of the game for a non English speaking country the language would be changed to fit that country.
Contracts FTW! :D The best atmosphere, the best music, and some of the best missions. We need a remaster! Letting go of Jesper Kyd for the later games was criminal though, they feel soulless and dead without him.
Hitman series are like real life, but simpler. You never know what to do exactly and what to expect. You can only learn from trial and error, and sometimes bold improvisation.
this is because of the jamplay you can not pass the first level or disguise yourself because the target you want to fall asleep with chloroform or I know what to do. We go much faster than you when you sneak if you look too loud and it breaks the ground and warns the guards who come and you watch It kills you and such games come impractical now he tried and we gave up It is not worth the effort here to see if it goes or what it is and clearly I eat trash
The unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed Absolution. It was the first Hitman game I played, so I didn't have anything to compare it against. Sometimes I did get annoyed on certain stages, but overall I really enjoyed it. Looking to get Hitman next month!
Same here. I had played Codename 47, Hitman 2 and Contracts demo before it but really enjoyed Absolution. And I'm fully aware that it's not a great Hitman game but I really liked levels even though they're very linear and all the on the run theme. It's just a solid game for when you just want to have fun and not think too much about it.
It's my favorite by a long shot. I think people are too harsh with it, it's not a perfect game, but it's just so fun to play that it completely overshadows most flaws. I do understand why long time fans dislike it though, but I think it's undeserving of the massive hatred built around it.
my first was hitman 2 silent assassin Then played contracts then absolution and it felt way too easy the first game i got silent assassin rating on every mission. Hitman and Hitman 2 2018 seems strange to me, so easy to complete every mission back then it was an accomplishment achieving silent assassin rating and now days even 9 year olds can do it.
Absolution had problems, but that game is the foundation of the World of Assassination trilogy, it's where so many modern Hitman mechanics stem from, including the detailed level design. IO looked at Hitman Absolution, really thought about what would make it better, kept the good stuff, listened to the fans and pretty much perfected the formula with Hitman 2. As the saying goes: a person who falls down and gets up is stronger than the person who never fell. Fun fact: absolution is technically and canonically in the same universe as Tomb Raider and Kane & Lynch.
Detailed level designed is really the consequence of better hardware to develop games, not Absolution. There's a trend with Hitman in the details area since Codename 47, and every game had a positive change in that area. I wouldn't contribute it to Absolution lol, that game is still garbage.
@@juanmanuelcorrea7673 Obviously games get better and more detailed with time, but that's not what I'm talking about - IOI clearly made a conscious decision to fill their levels with realistic amounts of clutter and detail assets. Ex. in the bar level is a barstool shaped like a horse saddle. They could've easily just made a normal stool, but they went out of their way to enhance the environment, that type of thing simply wasn't as present before Absolution. Hallways and desks were relatively barren and empty. You say absolution is shit, I say it's the manure that fertilized the new Trilogy.
@@natdavliam Because, like I said, the formula wasn't perfected yet. There were no mirrors, suitcases, bushes, crowd hiding mechanics, , etc. In Hitman 1.

Most underrated gamming UA-camr ever, good job bro!!
silent assassin is my favourite and I still play it to this day such awesome game and nice work
Ever since I saw you'r Splinter Cell video I hoped you would do one for Hitman and it was worth the wait.
The fuck?
Also for a sine tangent if anybody's interested of getting hit men 2016 well Xbox users is currently on gold for this month so it's be a good time to get it
One thing I have realized is all targets make the same mistake: “can I have one moment without all of you guards following me around?” Every single time
To be fair though I can imagine it getting annoying having like 4 other ppl with you constantly. Definitely not something you would do when you think a hitman might be after you but still it’s a slight explanation
Its called gaining trust normally they start talking about private stuff no one can hear
@KTV 4U what are you talking about? My comment was about why targets send guards away my guy
@KTV 4U yeah what are you talking about?
@KTV 4U yeah what are you talking about?
47 being bald actually makes him less traceable, he can’t lose hair on the floor which is DNA. Also being so boney makes him lose less skin cells
b o n e y
Ah yes... the science...
Wow good observation
He can also disguise as any person with any haircut.
Fewer skin cells. Aside from that this is actually a really smart comment.
I'm the exact same way, Absolution was my first game and it was so much fun, I had no idea it wasn't like the others.
While it isn't anything like the other Hitman games, I still think it's pretty fun
Hey I left almost the exact same comment a moment ago. Im actually pretty happy Id started with it since [apparently] we had no where to go but up
Exactly. My dad and I played it together and we loved it.

@@donaldyeeter9842 wtf?
@@cheesuschrists I understand
And for your problem, you can actually easily fool the guards
Firstly, throwing a coin while they're looking at you is pointless, it just makes them a little suspicious about you and it wastes a lot of time
Throw when they're turned around or something, and they instantly go check what's wrong
Also, I would think Blood Money was hard as well until I got used to it, but then I realized its child's play after I installed Hitman 2 Silent Assassin
Codename 47 is not a "shooter game" and stealth games already existed by 2000. Deus Ex existed.
Well most targets in this game all have the same details for security that’s why why the guards sound similar but you can here them talking about it
Yeah, it's that one guy with the thickest ass accent
@Fat Cat You're supposed to assume they aren't speaking English. We only hear it in English because it's from 47's perspective.
@@nelsonw9483 Its weird though how literally nobody in the Paris level has a French accent and then in the Colorado level that actually takes place in America, they actually bothered to give the militia members Australian accents because theyre an Australian militia. It seems kinda backwards.

The m4. Nuff said.

The stereotypes in that game were hilarious.
"HE'S PACKING!!"
There was also that weird kiss, God, it even brough me shivers.
Kinda crazy he’s still played by the same guy after all these years.
Add his barcode to the equation and you will notice that 47 is really characteristic.
To be fair, most of his assignments are in high class places and bald dudes with sharp suits isn't a very rare sight in those places

He was always such a welcome addition to game music
Apocalypse is my favorite Jesper Kyd Hitman song, personally.
Or in Assassins Creed :)))))
The newspapers in blood money also hinted at future missions in the side stories.
They also had some pretty funny side stories like "School Janitor burned to death"
The newspapers were something I really loved in Blood Money - it was like the icing on the cake, didn't make a big impact but it was cool the developers added it
Blood Money was also my favourite in the series, so to each their own
Robert Wave I agree except it has a huge impact for me personally. I would keep trying different ways to kill people in the same level to see how the newspaper would report differently. I fed everyone to the crocodiles on that crocodile level wish they would mention it. I really wished they would have expanded the newspaper reporting in the future game but instead they took it away. That was very disappointing for me...
Also some kane and lynch allusions if i remember right. Not that that game matters.
@Amadeus Eisenberg I've waited my whole life to hear those words and ascend.
Copium aside.
Hitman 2 & Contracts used the same engine, which had obvious A.I. issues.

Just like in John wick 4
Contracts is also my favourite title! The game was so dark and macabre, I remember so much from these missions!
so bad it feels short tho
it was pretty empty and barren in places
I remember the meat packing plant. Bondage kink party, naked fatties, tortured murdered girl, grab her severed arm for ID, blood everywhere, torture racks. Fuckin' wild man, even GTA is Sesame Street by comparison.
@@ExireHG Yeah, when I think of Hitman Contracts, that mission at the meat packing plant always comes to mind first. Genuinely disturbing shit and very dark tone of the game even by Hitman standards.

@@KorbyWorby Do you mean Amendment XVII ?

SWAT 4 was an unusually dark game for a police simulator
Makes me regret not getting that when I saw it twice for Xbox and PS2 at the goodwill
I found swat 4 to be plain creepy when I was 9
Swat 4 was amazing. I read that originally Sierra wanted to push for a story-driven game where all levels are connected, but the game makers instead wanted to make each mission a standalone. Cause that's how it in reality for police officers - each case is it's own story. I feel like the same was in Hitman aswell.
@Shashank Saurav Or the Children of tarronne mission where they have their children buried in the basement
Hitman: Contracts is my personal favourite too. Beldingford Manor was an awesome level. I really wish they'd do more maps set in the UK.
Beldingford Manor, yea loved that level, all we needed was a cludo style theme and it would've been perfect.
My favorite was the meat party. It just had more crowds than the rest which is usually what I feel the best levels have.

I've never played a hitman apart from hitman silent assassin years ago. I'm excited to try the hitman trilogy.

After playing and doing stealth in so many games the "What did I do?!" became "But I didn't do anything!"
It's like walking through downtown Chicago and suddenly being arrested on the spot for no discernable reason.
oh hey Contracts is my favorite too, there's something about the atmosphere of that game, it feels so dark and alone, and I think its the best expression of how a heartless assassin like 47 probably feels inside
Which is strange, because I love contracts and codename 47 is... well... codename 47
Contracts was also the most unsettling one CREEPY AND DARK you really was in the world of an assassin
I prefer Blood Money but that's because some missions in Contracts gave me such creepy vibes hahah
My first Hitman game was Silent Assassin, but the new games are my favorites.
Hitman 3 is really good as well
The story is not good though
The expansions practically are new maps for the same game though. And they also have added a few DLC maps.

The newspapers in blood money also had an article that predicted the next level which I thought was cool.
Also callbacks to previous missions like the widow in the Las vegas mission
I wish they did this for Hitman 2016. I was hoping they would.
@@mrcliff3709 yes that widow went to las vegas to spend all the money of her father xd

@@ElectronicaAvanzadaPrismaCem That's a big flex since that is the longest level in the game.
@@yojoehojo4291 yes, but also the easiest, you just need the sniper rifle or the hand gun with scope, go upstairs to the locked door that gives access to the upper area of the stage, but you have to kill or knock down the guard, then from that place you kill the actor and the guy in the balcony, it's ultra easy, I think the record is like 49 seconds in this level, mine was like 55 seconds or 52
I think the France and Chile ones were my favorite, and the one at the California mental hospital and the Las Vegas casino were my least favorite
Then leave)

Hehehe.

It's my favorite by a long shot. I think people are too harsh with it, it's not a perfect game, but it's just so fun to play that it completely overshadows most flaws. I do understand why long time fans dislike it though, but I think it's undeserving of the massive hatred built around it.

Absolution is not a bad game, it's just a bad Hitman game.
I love that u mentioned the soundtrack in Silent Assasin. That was brilliant!
They could've easily just made a normal stool, but they went out of their way to enhance the environment, that type of thing simply wasn't as present before Absolution.
