I have a couple theories. 1. Vlad is the scribe king, and his watcher is his brother in law, which is why he keeps calling the payday gang in to get him out of trouble. 2. With the dentist dead, Bain's reincarnation is him ascending to the now empty throne of the healer king, which he immediately begins work healing society.
I wonder who Bain's Watcher will be. Duke seems to be the best for the job but he might want nothing more than needed with this whole Watcher and King business.

I think my favorite part of all this is that the Dentist's failure is his own damn fault. If he hadn't engineered Hoxton's arrest, the gang wouldn't have pissed off so many powerful people, wouldn't have had to expand, and thus wouldn't have recruited the only man on the planet who could help them break the cycle. The thing that gave him the leverage he needed for his plan to be set in motion is ultimately what ruined his plan. Poetic justice at it's finest, folks.
Isn't that the same with Bain? Wasn't the only reason Bain died was because he was injected with the virus that the crew stole in No Mercy? The hafts of arrows truly are feathered by our own plumage.
@@gingerinajacket8519 I agree Bain's death is also his own fault, but I think there's a bigger cause than that: He never trusted his only real allies with the whole story, and thus when his demons came home to roost, he was left to fend for himself. I can't imagine how much time and effort went in to just compiling the lore, never mind producing the script, narrating, grabbing footage, and editing. Absolutely amazing
They came from: Robbing a bank with absolutely no stealth skill, to cooking meth, to stealing nuclear warheads, to foiling the century old plans of what’s essentially the Payday equivalent of the Illuminati
"hey, i made this art thief heister, can i put him in the game?" "yes, but he has to be a conspiracy nut that somehow prevents the world's end by reading old scripts in a markiplier voice"
I'm inclined to believe that the #MyHeister campaign was intended from the start to produce a character who would act as an in-universe stand-in for the community, who would solve the secret in-game the same way the community solved the ARG outside of the game.
My headcanon for the masks being what they are is that they shape themselves to be a symbol of the current protectors. When one dies and another takes it's place, the symbol changes
in that case the masks are probably alien tech, which in turn begs the question if the masks the core four wear are alien and can shapeshift too If they are alien and can shape themselves, why are there two sets of shapeshifting masks? If they match the symbols of the core four, and are meant for us, shouldn't we be wearing the masks in the coffer? If our masks we're wearing rn dont shapeshift, why is there an identitcal shapeshifting masks locked in a coffer nobody has seen for eons? Who made them? It answers some questions but creates lots more holes
OvenCake well, considering reincarnation and immortality are canon (True Ending, The Dentist.) it’s not too much of a stretch to consider the masks themselves change based on the current design through some magic sorcery.
Blows my mind how they’re able to combine so many pieces of media into the games history, They got John Wick, Jacket from hotline Miami, and even jimmy from Hardcore Henry. Masterpiece of story writing

4:04:25 My personal theory is that the masks in the chest are actually meant to be the ones you get when you complete the secret (the ancient ones, not the "Secret Dallas/Chains/Wolf/Hoxton" masks), but for some reason, Overkill just put in weathered versions of the default masks in there, probably since the secret ending masks were likely made well after Henry's Rock was released.
*Hey Hey Hey!* It's about time the *full playlist becomes one video* it's always hard to find something to listen to in the background that's enjoyable so it's great to see that all these videos are combined into a big lore movie!
3:59:50 This by itself makes the plot of the game one of the best ive seen in a while. Truly the greatest heist the Payday gang ever pulled off, no money they ever achieved could buy off the mind heist of the president himself. In Payday 3 the gang are probably going to steal Mars or something because this will be whole lot harder to top out in terms of plot.
I'm late to the party, here, but I *love* how you worked the Drill Fiasco and the Ethan & Hila backlash into the story. A strange note for anyone unfamiliar, and a fun retelling of something us vets are all too familiar with.
For the new people in the back, I'm talking about when those safes you open that have weapon skins in them. Those used to need a Drill to open. You pay for that specific drill like it was a key in CS:GO or TF2.

@@steafyheaster1335 Yeah, in the Payday 2 version he drops him through the ceiling, and in Payday the heist he drops him through the ceiling if Garnet doesn't pick up the phone.
I had to listen to this over multiple days due to, well, my own inability to sit still. But this was amazing, and even though I already knew how the story ended, the way you told it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
@Astolfo Don't die
an easy solution to the masks would have been to swap the stars and stripes for a more geometric striped and dotted pattern, and put the flag motif down to bane's flair. Excellent video, btw.
PAYDAY 3’s gonna start with the President saying
“Remember that time we killed an immortal king? The Thermal Drill, go get it.”
so this is why it took so long to announce John Wick 4, he was too busy robbing banks with a cracked out man with regenerative immortality. also bain sounds like a bro he protects his team from any danger he can, even if it means he gets hurt in the process.
The events of Payday 2 take place before John Wick 1, not after.

It's taken me a few days to get through this, but my Lord, Kknowly, you've really outdone yourself. An absolute fabtastic video. Loved it.
now imagine how different the timeline would be if houston never joined the gang
and so, as the gang stayed at 3, they disbanded early and the world soon ended, while there were attempts to bring them together, they just couldn't do it without the pink and white mask
hoxton died in his cell, thinking everyday the gang would get him out of there, but they never came. even in the apocalypse, he could never truly leave his cell, mostly because they were titanium walls and bars
Me: is reciting the entire Payday storyline

AUTISM DIAGNOSIS BE UPON YE
Holy shit this is more insane than I thought it would be. I've just been playing with friends out of order on the missions. I didn't know the story was this wild
Seriously man. Went from my friend telling me to play payday2 because it’s a good asf, to me re downloading it and seeing that holy shit the lore for this game is insane.
Absolute legend. Edited a 4 hour video for the mistake. Love you man
This was my childhood for a few years. Thank you for stringing this story together and bringing back some of the best memories I’ve had
im in the process of turning payday into a D&D campaign.. i think im gonna be watching this vid on indefinite loop now, to learn the story line
That sounds... Intriguing, to say the least.
@@insomniagobrrr5542 im several weeks into it, and its going surprisingly well! given half my players have never played D&D and the other half never heard of Pay day. its amazing how easily they can over come a magical security system to rob a bank.. without ECMs haha
@@agzarah Have they met The Dentist yet?
@@cam8584 not yet.(although I've changed names and stuff)
It takes about a session or 2 per level. The last game mission they did was the basic gold bank heist.
They managed to stealth it... just! Much to the bored of the barbarian.
I'm adding some custom generic dungeon crawling as well to mix it up a little, kinda of content to create and expand a safe house.
Find dwavern forge etc to craft new and better gear.
Instead of just buying it from bane.
Last week they found some plans in one of the bank deposit boxes to the where abouts of an ancient wizards tower which they are currently working their way through, with the goal to find "blue prints" for some new gear
@@agzarahare you guys still playing the same campaign?
So, watching this I just got a funny thought and wondered: Given that radiation was needed for the temples, Murkywater being a subsidiary of the Kataru, and that we now know that Vlad was the scribe, could there have been a bigger picture of Meltdown? After all, the heist happened in the rear-end of the jobs for the dentist, so perhaps he wanted to slow down the momentum of the reincarnation?
I'm not 100% sure Glad was a king as he was seen in the Payday webseries ending
Vlad*
@@udrubudrub honestly i cant really imagine vlad as one of these kings either. The dentist and the elefant seem pretty misterious to me but vlad is just a russian owning nightclubs to me

yeah honestly thats some old school shit
To be fair even modern military weapons can’t be reloaded, repaired, or upgraded by wildly swinging a wrench in the vicinity while carrying some scrap metal in your back pocket.
bold of you to assume the blueprints for all of MANN CO's gear weren't completely destroyed and any mentions of any of it was redacted before they went bankrupt. they had laser weapons, jetpacks, medical tech that can heal people from near death injuries within seconds, and teleportation tech. taking everything down with them sounds like MANN CO.
You know a franchise has a crazy level of popularity when they get to have crossovers with scarface, hotline Miami, John Wick AND hardcore Henry, this is straight up awesome 🤣
Such a shame 3 looks like it won't be the same. The loot boxes was really dumb
I don't work *with junkies*...

I am finally watching this entire thing instead of doing schoolwork
Thanks for the opportunity
Imagine if the safe house in Payday 3 is just Dallas’ yacht
Medic Bag
I can see Medic Bag being the safe house lol. The question is, what will be everyone's motivation going back into the heist game? They all got flithy rich from the heists they did and all of them can make sure their great great great grandchildren can go on early retirement. I'm not so sure Payday 3 will include the original gang. The only thing I can see happening after the secret ending of Payday 2... They probably have more than just taking the US president's place. They should head for the UN next and pretty much comandeer the entire planet's leaders.
@@royliber3824 maybe they don't need an excuse or a raid happens but the crew strikes me as the people that'd start doing it for fun and infamy
Using the Medic Bag would open the world up huge! I believe the setting for 3 is already set in NY but giving us a world map would me insanity
@@SirFooplesTheThird I mean... Payday 2 already taking part around the world-ish, but yeah I see what you mean. Definitely will give more proper heists
Don’t know why but I just want a video for all cannon teams for each heist
with cannon weapons and perk decks (and probably skill-sets too)
@@dragsvart Canon weapons, perk decks and skills are all character specific. You can easily link decks to characters because the number of the character from l-r t-b matches the perk deck from top-bottom. For example: John Wick is the 5th character. Hitman is the 5th perk deck. John Wick's perk deck is Hitman. Weapons you can tell by the weapons that come with character packs, for the most part. Skills are tougher, though.
a lot of them can be figured from the dialogue before the heist in the difficult screen
@@bquad2 I know the first bit. and as for the second bit it wouldnt be exact but building each character based on their specialty wouldnt be too hard. also dallas would have to have the entire mastermine tree aced and so on with wolf, chains, houston, and hoxton.
Same, but I think perk decks go with the character, don’t they?
Thanks for making this. I spent a ton of time early on trying to find "the secret" that had been hinted at, but never got anywhere. It's been years but I still probably could describe all the maps at the time from memory.
I eventually gave up, but I guess the secret eventually got put into the game.
Hey, I'm in this video, 3:52:39 on the plaque, love the breakdown and how flawlessly the ARG community was represented in this video
I've played Payday 2 once and I didn't finish the introduction level. However, I sat and listened to 4 hours of Payday lore. Props to you for making it entertaining and easy to understand for people like me.

Wow this lore is something else. I joined the game through Russian Badger, as I'm assuming a new wave of us have but I'd failed to realize how deep the lore goes.
