used the magnet for over a year. worked great till I wanted to use Keurig 2.0 My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter with my Thermal Carafe. Works great now thanks..Now if there was a way to make it Hotter!
Great work. I did the green wire hack and it worked perfectly. I was about to trash my coffee maker. Thank You So Much. Proud of these type of smart people.
Replying to your 3 year old video to thank you for making my life easy again. I was so pissed when the took the ability to brew 12-14oz of coffee away in the 2.0 without the karafe. I used to have clip that cheated that, but it was unreliable, worked sometimes, others not. This is waaayyy better! Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for the great work! We just bought a 2.0 from a yard sale for $5. We got some knockoff refillable cups from Walmart and were disappointed that they wouldn’t work. But we found your video and boom we had a fully functional coffee maker without being locked in to proprietary cups! 🙏🏼
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! My 2.0 was headed to the yard sale pile.... I can use my Carafe again for the first time in 6 years. I was not able to remove the magnet; by splicing the wires it bypasses the magnet and works perfectly. Finding this video made my day!
I never leave comments unless fully deserved. With that said, I just about threw this Keurig out the damn door and gone full Office Space on it. Your video saved it's existence. Great video thank you for making my mornings better sir.
Thanks! My Keurig died today and I still had my 2.0 that I stopped using because of that problem. I didn’t want to rush out and buy one without comparing my options and checking reviews. So did your hack and now it works great. Now I can take my time with getting a new one.
What in the World! I did this to my 7-year-old machine, and it worked. Other hacks I did: -The magnet in the slot - Putting an original K cup label on top of the reusable -The magnetic clip to go under the eye sensor. I probably would have not dare to do this years back. Now, I didn't care that much if I'd mess it up. Luckily, I found this 4-year-old video that worked fantastic. Thanks.
Someone gave me one of these machines. I was checking reviews and people said Google a hack. I found this video and fixed ours as well. Thanks for making this video!
Excellent modification! Took more time than most commenters mention because the tabs are very fragile. If you pry just a tad more than necessary, they break off as three of mine did. Still works fine but just an FYI. Best to use a thin kitchen knife to hold the two units apart once you have the first tab started and work your way from tab to tab. Also no need to pull out the sensor, just leave it in and works fine that way too. Also, make sure to cut the wire as close to the sensor as possible to give yourself lots of wire to work with when splicing together. The sensor is located in the bottom part of the unit. Great video, hope your girlfriend made it home okay.
Wow- you saved our sanity! The hack was getting pretty complicated, until I realized that the only thing I needed to do was cut the green wire (because I already had full menu access) and it worked- I was so excited! We have the carafe, and use the reusable pods, except some times they would work, and sometimes they wouldn't, no rhyme or reason, just getting the "oops" error message over and over until we wanted to scream! Then the next day, magically it would work again. Until it wouldn't. Buy a new pod, same thing again. Makes you just want to give up on the Keurig altogether because it gets too expensive to buy the Keurig brand pods for the carafe. Well no more issues now- thank you so much!!
My Keurig 2.0 did not read the majority of encoded lids since new even after cleaning the laser lens. I had been carefully peeling off the lids of ones that worked and overlaying them on the ones that didn't--a royal pain. Cutting the green wire now lets me use whatever I want. I was ready to pitch the Keurig. Now it works great! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I did the menu hack. I took it apart as instructed but I just laid a thin magnet on the sensor. I thought i would try that before cutting the wires. And it worked. So far so good. Thanks!!
THANK YOU! We bought a Keurig 2.0 in 2014 or 2015 after finding compostable pods from Presidents Choice. They have been hit or miss whether or not it would brew and was very frustrating. I wish I had watched this sooner!!
This saved my 2.0 from being trashed. Very easy directions and it works! The main issue I had was putting the cover back on but with a little patience I was able to put it back on evenly. Thank you!
This guy rocks... worked perfectly! We like to use the orange reusable carafe k cups. They usually work well brand new, but the usable time has been shrinking and we would have to but a new orange reusable 2 pack. Over the past several months, it's really difficult to get Keurig 2 to recognize it... even new... it just won't brew a carafe! The magnetic bypass worked! Also, cutting the optical sensor was a bonus for using all k cups. The only issue were the inside clips. A tiny thin screwdriver worked best for me, and don't worry if you break a clip or two, like I did... as long as you have at least one on each side, it will hold together just fine. Good luck!
I'm a bit late on this. I put my Keurig in storage for a number of years, just disgusted with the DRM feature. I know there are other ways to avoid the DRM, but they involve too much messing around. I found this video yesterday, took my Keurig out of storage, followed your directions and it works perfectly. Better late than never, I guess. Thanks.
Awesome! Worked perfectly, thank you! I did it because it wouldn't recognize some official K-cups and their help line was useless in resolving the issue. I never saw that 6 round-button menu interface before but I have it now. And even with being careful I did break 1 tab as they were brittle from years of use. Also my sensor was glued in so I cut the wires and just left it in there. Cutting the green wire felt like a scene out of an action film but instead of disarming the bomb I can brew coffee again.
I legit have the same problem, our machine isn't recognizing legitimate branded K cups, I understood why it didn't want to use the purple knock offs but it pissed me off when I wanted to brew a full carafe and it told me the keurig branded pot wasn't compatible. I ended up buying a legit keurig re-usble pod and was FINALLY able to see the full menu I never believed was a real thing, but that doesn't help with not being able to brew a carafe. Will have to get my sisters permission to Frankenstein up her keurig but this looks like the ticket
Thank you so much...my mom gave me a Keurig 2.0 model 300 that she didn't use and I was confused about how to get more than a 4 or 6 oz cup until I watched your video. I clipped the green wire and it works great now. I can make a variety of different sizes of coffee and hot water...thanks again :)
Awesome video!! I tried that at first and it wouldn't even dispense hot water. I had to take it all apart (Bare bones) and pushed in the wires where possible thinking maybe a wire came loose somewhere? Fiddling and pushing back the wires everywhere after i tried your method did the trick for me! THANK YOU FOR NOT LETTING ME TOSS THIS THING OUT!!!
Thank you so much I got so tired of certain cups not fitting in my Keurig my husband did this for me as he watched your video thanks I just bought a box of 100 cups that didn't work and now they do awesome!
First off I can’t believe my coffee maker is that old😳, second thanks for the information. It was cut and dry to the point! Keep making videos to make our lives easier!
You just saved me from buying a new machine! I used to use the magnet trick but it stopped working. It wouldn't even work with a carafe keurig cup. I figured I'd check to see if there were any new ways of getting around it and saw yours. Thanks for your videos!
Grant Davis Grant Davis 1 second ago I just cut the green wire and it allowed any cups to be used. I have some of the refillable carafe cups which have a rib/handle and are much taller. When I put them it it gives me the extended menu, which makes sense because the larger capacity of the refillable cup would be necessary for the bigger brew.
OMG!!!!! You won't believe how many videos I watched trying to do the hack . And then I found you.......So grateful for your tip. 10oz was just not enough. THANK YOU BILLIONS!!!
Oh my goodness!!!!! I can't believe all it took was a blue marker over my reusable cup!! Which we have 2 of so it was so darn easy!! I watched this video a year ago and wasn't in the mood to deal with it and all I needed was to read the comments and use a marker from my junk draw. 🤯🤯 45 second fix!
I just try this modification and it work perfectly !!! You change all my mornings for ever !!! Thank's Butt Yeah! Go very very gentel when unclip the 5 plastic clips, the ingeneers litterly bult them to brake !
Good video. Question though, starting at time index 4:23 is it possible to not open the top part with the 5 clips and leave the front magnet sensor in place but still be able to cut the 2 black wires that lead to it. I assume those two black wires for the magnet sensor go to the back where the other wires are at? I guess determining which two wires that lead to the front would be the hard part.
That may be possible, however the clips aren't that hard to remove, you can even cut up some thin plastic material (perhaps some scrap packaging material) and make strips you can slide under each clip then when all the clips are "shimmed" you can easily separate them. I just kept upward force as i popped each clip up. Then connect the two black wires after cutting the magnet off and your good to go, after cutting the green wire of course.
Thank you for your video!!!! It worked Great. Tried to use keurig universal k cup to brew my on coffee didn't work . Called keurig they told me my machine three years old have to buy a new one. Universal won't work on my 2.0 but add said it would. Then i found your video and I am off an brewing my own coffee. THANK YOU !
You are my new hero. Some of my fellow grey-haired 65 year old dinosaurs are discouraged about the younger generation, but this proves that everything will be o.k. You guys will figure it out. I can sleep better at night.
I just did this. Only cut the green wire because I’m not concerned about the full menu. I no longer randomly get the oops screen when using my reusable kcup. Thank you! I wasn’t too concerned about it breaking the machine since I got it for $5.00 at Goodwill. When I brought it home it would not move off of the preheating screen. It was stuck there, so I found a hack that said turn it over and count to 30. That sounded crazy but it worked. Now your hack made it less frustrating to use.
I have a keurig 2.0 and used a reusable carafe pod. As soon as I closed the top this menu pops up. Way more size selections and I don't have to use the carafe. My 2.0 sizes go to 18 oz. now I can use my coffee cup instead of the carafe and fill my cup to 16 0z. on one round. Love it plus I can use my own grounds and save money.
Lu Lovett That's awesome I never thought of that. I personally would like that reusable carafe pod, that would be a nice adition for a stronger cup of coffee.
@@LILBZ3 I still find this extremely helpful because my current 2.0 doesn't work as described by Lu Lovett, with the reusable carafe pod. It did for awhile but I have been having to buy the expensive carafe pods and peeling the tops off and putting the tops over my generic carafe pod. I am so grateful I found this video so I can try it. Ill let you know! Thanks!!!
@@LILBZ3 So only one more thing. I wasn't able to use distilled water with my other 2.0. Some other sensor on it can "see" if there is water in the reservoir or not by the minerals in the water. Distilled water doesn't have those minerals in it and so the keurig 2.0 does not see any water in the reservoir and will not brew. I think Keurig discourages the use of distilled water because they can charge exorbitant prices for their filter systems. Any ideas on locating this sensor?
Have had nothing but problems with our Keurig 2.0 not allowing us to use various k-pods. This bypass of the laser works better than advertised. The only trick is getting the top back on. Be patient. Great hack!!!
Awesome! Glad its helping people. I enjoy mine everyday! The needles clog up sometimes but I just stick a paperclip in them every once in a while to help flush stuck coffee grounds.
No because you wouldnt just use a regular k-cup, you would use a generic pod that you can fill with your own coffee and your own amount of coffee. I use mostly my own coffee anyway and the generic pods come in a few different sizes.
Blade Runner i agree with her use K Kup reusable than you can also hit button step stronger, OR If you dont want reusable I recommend Starbucks 2x Caffeine so strong, its a new ...pack of 12.. $16.00 walamart
This video (and many others like this one) proves one thing (besides the fun of hacking a coffee maker), it is the fact that many people buy stuff without knowing what they're actually buying. Ifyou needed the freedom of making coffee with any brand of coffee grounds in quantities you want all you have to do is to buy a regular drip coffee maker in the first place. LOL... Thanks for the informative video anyway.
I did what the video said, and at first nothing, all the machine kept telling me was that that "oops" message, regardless of coffee cartridge. The more I kept lifting the top plate that covers the touch screen and main button that is held down by those clips, I noticed something, that there is this "mother board" under the top part, (as you lift it up gently, shine a light there, and you will see that a small green mother board like board is screwed in place) upon examining closer I saw all the colored wires (Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red) run to the area right over the optical lense. I noticed that the wires were in this tiny white clip plug looking thing that you could tell clearly was to be plugged into its bottom half counterpart that is attached to the optical lense itself (it is a teeny tiny green board with an off white colored plastic plug looking thing that looked like something was to fit INTO IT). I looked above, and under at both pieces, and safely assumed that they are to be attached, or rather "plugged into one another" I carefully did this, but in order to do that, had to actually unclip ALL the clips all around that cover as to lift it up enough to give the room, leverage etc... to plug them into one another as soon as I did that, and turned the machine on, IT WORKED!!! I am thinking what happens is as someone is trying to unclip just the 4 or 5 clips around the front, and as one lifts it to get to the front magnet to remove, if it is lifted to abruptly or too high these two pieces that are over the lense become unplugged, and then it won't matter what colored wires you cut, the entire machine will not recognize ANY K-cup. it works now, the only thing I need to do, it so properly connect the two black wires in the front from the magnet to get all the cup sizes, but at this point, I just don't want to fuss with it anymore. I am good with at least using ANY K-cup. and it looks like I can still select the larger 12oz-16oz for a travel mug, I just have to set it to that in the settings, and then go back and re-set it to K-cup. (not that hard, its touch screen). and I did end up having to cut both the yellow and green wires. ALSO just a side note: instead of "cutting" the wires, you "CAN" just unplug the colored wires from that plug itself from either the front part of the machine under the lid where it is all clipped in, OR you can disassemble the back of the machine and unplug it from the other end, which would be at the back very bottom of the machine. (I saw another you tube tutorial that did that as an alternative to cutting wires.) This was my experience thought I'd share.
Super glad you solved this issue, it seems that a couple people have had this problem. I'll refer people to this comment that have had this issue. Thanks for the detailed resolution! Happy caffeinated beverage sipping!
Help! My screen is blank when I plug it back in. I did what the original post said to do, then I went back in to check the white clip that holds all the wires, but it’s not loose 🤦🏾♀️ Any suggestions?
Thank you! Our Keurig 2.0 is prolly a 1st gen and several yrs old... cutting the yellow along with the green worked for me! I was almost ready to head over to Amazon to buy another machine
Great Video. When I lift the mechanism, my top won't stay up, it flops back down. If I do the retrofit for unlocking, will I be able to access the spring that keeps the top up? Thanks Bill
Wonder which Keurig you have there because my K400 model has a much more enhanced menu after hacking it. My settings go higher in ounces then yours does. I can go up to 16 oz on one of the settings and on number 4 setting I get 4 oz 8 oz 10 oz and 12 oz the others are the same as they go a step more in ounces on each of them. Plus all my screen settings are in full color. The 2 setting is yellow the 3 is green the 4 is brown and the others have a lighter brown and blue and purple.
Great hack. Had an issue at first after cutting the green wire and the 2 black wires the coffee maker wouldn’t work. So I read through the comments and found a few possible issues. Mine turned out to be the ribbon wire going to the board, it came lose. After pushing it back in it worked. Hopefully this will help someone else who might have the same issue.
The bad thing is I already cut the wires on the magnet. Of course I cut it short and doubt if I have enough to splice back. I'm going to try to tape the wires to a regular magnet and see if that works. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Hi. You said "splice" the wires. Do you mean to reconnect the wires (for the magnet) or do you just have to cut them and leave them disconnected? thank you
Eric Mizer sorry for the late reply, I hope you were able to find your answer in the comments. Splice them together after removing the magnet. The two black wires get twisted together and taped. This "bypasses" the magnetic switch, allowing you to use any Kcup or Carafe.
Omg. I used the magnets before and it stopped working. So I found your video and watched it. I cut the green wire and cut the other wire for the optical. Well I didn’t realize that I needed to splice it back until I saw this lovely young lady’s comment. I took it apart and spliced it, and voila ....it worked! I said to myself, “Well I be damn!” 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for the video and comments. It really helped me. 🤗😘
So I followed the instructions step by step and plugged in the unit and turned it on. I do not know why but the screen is now inverted. The time is upside down. Why has this occurred and how can I correct it. Thanks
When you say slide together the wires, is that twisting them together and then the tape over or just tape together without twisting? Just want to avoid an explosion 💥 😝 thanks! I want to try this hack!
I have 2 machines. 1 worked with the hack and the other didn't. When I lift the handle and close, it takes me back to the main screen. Doesn't matter if I add a k-cup either. Thinking I didn’t splice the magnet wires properly, I went back and did it again. Actually several times. Any ideas?
Did you ever work out the carafe issue? You are supposed to have a proprietary carafe to use that feature... right now i am putting a magnet into the bottom part to trick it into dispencing anywhere from 2-3 cups to 5-6 cups...
any idea how much is dispensed with these options vs the actual ounce settings? I would be afraid 5-6 cups would be far too weak even with the carafe size pod (or the carafe do it yourself pod with your own grounds) I often use that to brew 12 oz and its good but couldnt imagine doing that with the 5-6 cup carafe option..>Wouldnt that dispense over 40 oz with the same amount of ground coffee?
I like your misspelling of Keurig and the way you say Caraffe (Caraffay) like you're speaking French and that you don't know what Froth means. I had to jump ahead several times - great video entertainment!
600miles Haha I've literally never used the word caraf before. I've since learned embarrassingly the proper pronunciation. Nobody including myself has noticed the misspelling. Haha Good catch!
I did exactly as you did... Now, when I pull down the handle, it does'nt show the full menu, but the exact same screen, asking to lift the handle and pull it down... No full menu, nothing. I cannot make any coffee!!!
Great tutorial. I was wondering what happened to the 16 oz option.? I want to to this to mine, but with a magnet it allows for 16 oz option. Does following this let me choose it?
I came here looking for any fixes for the clock running fast... any ideas how to fix it? I reset it every night and by morning it’s 20 minutes fast. Also, a reusable carafe pod will give you these same menus. I bought a two pack on Amazon a couple years ago for around $9 bucks.
Nice video. I just got a 2.0 brewer and one of Keurig's My KCup 2.0 and when I put that into my brewer, all of the menus are unlocked. I can understand unlocking so you can use any "My KCup". But what's the benefit of unlocking when you're using just a standard K Cup?
Scott Baldwin You usually only get a limited menu when using k-cups, if I remember correctly it's like 3 options. This way you'll have like 18 options from 4oz. To 16oz. Plus carafe options without the carafe, so you could brew a pot or fill a 24oz thermos like I do.
I just bought a Keurig K Klassic, not the 2.0. The problem with my pot, is it only brews a half cup of coffee. I'm clicking on the lg mug, but getting 1/2. Can you help me?
Ana F Dos Santos Like most Keurig's the have an upper and lower needle that have holes in the sides of them for fluid to pass through when brewing a cup. At least once a week I have to stick a small paper clip into the needle holes and jiggle it around to break up scale, coffee grounds, and any other buildup, in my case coffee grounds always jam up the needle. Also make sure your water tank screen at the bottom of the water reservoir is clean and clear of any debris. Make sure those needles are CLEAR by brewing plain water through q few times until no coffee grounds are coming out into your cup. Then throw a k cup in and test her out! I hope that works for you. The brew should take significantly less time to brew a full cup to! Let me know if it works.
Hi I just did this and the full menu unlocked! Which is great however I can brew everything but the 12,14,16 oz options. Please help. I could even brew 18 oz
I just tried this last night. I cut the magnet wires, spliced them back together, then couldnt cut the green wire because all i have is all black wires and one red wire, so i left that part alone. Now, even with my VUE cup, i can only access the regular k cup menu and can only make up to a 12oz cup instead of my 16oz travel mug. Soo instead of unlocking the full menu so i can use a regular k cup to make my 14 or 16oz cup, i did the opposite and can only make up to 12oz with my VUE cup. Idk what i could have done wrong? Would this happen if my wires werent spliced together correctly? You have to strip the rubber off those wires and reconnect them when you splice right? Sure hope I dont have to go buy a new keurig all together. oh boy....
any guy that uses a drill with the proper bit to take screws out of a coffee maker, plus unplugs it to prevent electrical shock... has my vote of confidence. I ALWAYS look for ways to use my tools to make the job easier and quicker. Good deal. I'll try the fix later..Thanks
Not bad at all dude. Just a simple explanation to all of your hard work. With the magnet still attached it is a normally open circuit (N.O.) until the magnet closes the circuit or loop. so for it to work it needs to become a normally closed (N.C.) circuit. Basically the magnet is like a light switch that is normally off. When you put it the proper K-cup that is like turning on the light switch. It closes the circuit allowing power to continue on to the coffee maker (which would be the light) which is the same as removing the magnet and just splicing those 2 wires together. With the green wire it looks like you might have just killed power to the other sensor. I would recommend putting some electrical tape over both ends of that cut wire. Electronics don't like any type of shorts so better not to take the chance. Anyways, like i already said, not bad at all. Thanks for the video. I'm going to become a subscriber.
I won’t lie, I watched the magnet removal and I only did that part and I was like WHATTHEFUCKFUFJSKK - but then I can back and saw I had to snip that green wire. It works 😬 thanks bro
Great work. I did the green wire hack and it worked perfectly. I was about to trash my coffee maker. Thank You So Much. Proud of these type of smart people.
Dale Schut no, the pin is only effected by the other hacks that may have you jam a qtip to block the needle. The needles are not effected by this hack and all k cups are still usable.
Found the mag sensor easy. Cut the wires and spliced. Put back together. Still the same. Don’t have access to full menu. Didn’t cut the green wire because I only use Keurig K cups. Is that why the full menu isn’t unlocked?
Shane Bagley yes, the green wire is the reason why it's not showing the full menu. Although you can continue to only use k cups and cut the green wire. It just allows more menu options for each cup.
Hi. That was a very helpful video. I haven’t tried it yet, however I intend to. BUT, I might wait to see if you can help me with something else. The top housing on my keurig is giving me trouble. I just kind of figured out what is wrong. Now I must figure out how to fix the second issue I’m having. 1. The rubber stopper fell off, I figured that out from watching another video, reinstalled it and look forward to my next cup. 2. One day I heard what sounded like something falling down inside the rear area of the top housing that opens when you lift it. Well, since then every time I try to close it, the piece that has the window in it for the visual sensor, it sits back too far. When you start to close the housing it should move forward a bit, therefore allowing the parts above and the needle to slide through the appropriate holes in this piece, thereby allowing you to close it and prepare your caffeine. Well, that piece ends up hitting up against the back of my needle and stops it from moving. I can manually pull it forward a bit, let the needle slide through, then close and go. BUT...anyone else decides to make a cup, slam...boom...bang...forcefully attempting closure by manhandling. So, you seem knowledgeable and handy, any ideas on how to fix this issue. You did show me how to uncover the top housing, which I didn’t know, so that will give me access to the area I need to get to. But any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated. GREAT JOB BTW...I look forward to more hacks.
Lisa Smith I know the piece you mentioned slides along the silver pin you see horizontally when you lift to add a Kcup. I'm worried however that you might have broken a plastic piece. I would take the top cover off and peak in the back of the unit near all the wires to see what may have fallen off. If that piece is a piece of broken plastic, my suspicions may be correct. You may have an unnecessarily difficult fix on your hands and you may consider replacing. From my experience, these tend to get calcium buildup inside the water heater that takes away from the keuregs effectiveness and taste after about a year of occasional use, so a new replacement isn't a bad option. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Upon reconsidering my response you may be able to complete this hack THEN tear that optical sensor out with brute force and throw it in the garbashio. Hope you are still thoroughly caffeinated!
Skip to 3:20 for step #1.

Just tried it, and the method still works 5 years later. Thxs for the awesome video.
Thanks so much for this tutorial! My husband and I made these modifications this morning in no time at all!
Awesome, glad it worked out!
This saved my 2.0 from being trashed. Very easy directions and it works! The main issue I had was putting the cover back on but with a little patience I was able to put it back on evenly. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this hack with us. I followed your instructions and now my keureg works great with the full menu available.
Finally got my full menu back...Thank you!!!! I was tired of having to select 2 sizes to fill my cup.
Good luck!
I did this using your video about 3 months ago. It's like a brand new machine. Thanx!
Thanks.
Actually thought I was screwed, but forgot to plug in board, full menu unlocked. Thanks guy!
Haha That make me laugh out loud! Glad to help! Happy brewing!
Awesome man. Been trying to find a good hack without having to alter the k-cups or adding Magnets! You are the man!
How do you get the little prongs up without breaking them. I'm finding the hard to lift and don't want to break them. Suggestions.
Glad you were able to resolve it! Sometimes when its taken apart the wire connections can come loose. Glad to hear you fixed it! :)
Thanks for the kind words! Glad it helped you!

I just cut the green wire and it allowed any cups to be used. I have some of the refillable carafe cups which have a rib/handle and are much taller. When I put them it it gives me the extended menu, which makes sense because the larger capacity of the refillable cup would be necessary for the bigger brew.
7 years later... You rock man!!!!❤
This will void your warranty.
You gave me life. Thanks for the video.
just an fyi..if u have a keurig reusable cup..use a blue sharpee over the red dot..makes it green and boom!
Omg thank you!! I didnt have to take it apart, just colored in that dot and boom fixed!!
OMG!!!!! You won't believe how many videos I watched trying to do the hack . And then I found you.......So grateful for your tip. 10oz was just not enough. THANK YOU BILLIONS!!!
I can’t believe this!!! It was this easy all this time 😭
Oh my goodness!!!!!
Only did the optical sensor (green wire) and things work perfect. Thanks!
I just try this modification and it work perfectly !!!
You change all my mornings for ever !!!
Thank's
Butt Yeah!
Lu Lovett your right. Just figured mine out
Have had nothing but problems with our Keurig 2.0 not allowing us to use various k-pods.
Worked!!! I cant believe it. Makes life so much easier when it's time to clean. Thanks, keep it up
Thank you! Glad it went smoothly. Enjoy!
Thank you. I wanted to be able to bypass the optical sensor and after watching this video I had it fixed in less than 1 minute.
But making 14 oz of coffee with a regular k cup would really water down the flavor wouldn't it?
No because you wouldnt just use a regular k-cup, you would use a generic pod that you can fill with your own coffee and your own amount of coffee. I use mostly my own coffee anyway and the generic pods come in a few different sizes.
Blade Runner i agree with her use K Kup reusable than you can also hit button step stronger, OR If you dont want reusable I recommend Starbucks 2x Caffeine so strong, its a new ...pack of 12.. $16.00 walamart
Dude, you just saved my sanity. I was ready to throw out my machine and decided to try this hack first. It worked perfectly!! Thank you!
Happy caffeinated beverage sipping!
you saved me from buying yet another coffee maker... Thank You!!!
You rock! we were trying to get ours to work and no other videos worked!
Brilliant Hack, works excellent although the 5 clips to get to the magnet sensor are not as easy to open as he makes it seems.
Definitely going to do that to mine. Such a hassle making multiple cups for my travel work mug.
I was just looking to use any k cup but this was even better. Thanks bro
Great Video. When I lift the mechanism, my top won't stay up, it flops back down. If I do the retrofit for unlocking, will I be able to access the spring that keeps the top up? Thanks Bill
I was skeptical about it, but I'm 😮😮😮 now. THANKS MU FRIEND!!
Does this also work with any type of off brand reusable carafe pod?? Without using the carafe pot?
Tried this today on mine. Works like a charm. I can use my freaking carafe again!
The bad thing is I already cut the wires on the magnet. Of course I cut it short and doubt if I have enough to splice back. I'm going to try to tape the wires to a regular magnet and see if that works. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Dude we just did this and it works perfectly! Wow thank you sooo much man!
Glad to hear! Enjoy!
This "bypasses" the magnetic switch, allowing you to use any Kcup or Carafe.
thank you! i did exactly that...it works like a champ! :)
So do you connect the two black wires together (the silver wires in the black plastic. Or do you just tape the together to get them out the way
So I followed the instructions step by step and plugged in the unit and turned it on. I do not know why but the screen is now inverted. The time is upside down. Why has this occurred and how can I correct it. Thanks
You freaking rock, got one at a thrift store for 5$! Did this now it's good to go thank you! 😊
Works great and it did not take long to do. Thank you
I did exactly as you did...
Now, when I pull down the handle, it does'nt show the full menu, but the exact same screen, asking to lift the handle and pull it down...
No full menu, nothing.
I cannot make any coffee!!!
I have a 7 year old K400 and I tried this and it still didn't bring the full menu up. I soldered and shrink wrapped too.
I did both these things and I’m still not getting the full menu. I can use any kcup I want though but no access to full menu. Any suggestions ??
This video just saved me $200 and gave me more ounces! Thanks!
Thankyou so much .works well saved us from purchase a coffee machine i was dancing with my wife after we did it
If there was a 'love' video instead of 'like' I'd hit it. Thanks, not as hard as I thought.
I’m not getting the expanded menu any ideas how I can correct this? Everything else works great
I just bought a Keurig K Klassic, not the 2.0.
Sweet hack! Works like a charm! Thank you!!
You're very welcome! Glad I could help.
I Just cut the green wire and it worked like a charm, coffee heaven.
Enjoyyy!
did the same just cut the green wire and i was set from there cheers :)
Thank you for this! Fix worked great on Keurig 2.0 Model K300
You're welcome! Thanks for commenting!
This is awesome,no more freedom clip needed!!
Cutting the green wire didn't do i for me but I simply unplugged the small plug from optical sensor and that did it
Where is the small plug to the optical sensor?
Sure hope I dont have to go buy a new keurig all together. oh boy....
Worked like a charm. Thank you!
any guy that uses a drill with the proper bit to take screws out of a coffee maker, plus unplugs it to prevent electrical shock... has my vote of confidence. I ALWAYS look for ways to use my tools to make the job easier and quicker. Good deal. I'll try the fix later..Thanks
I appreciate the kind words! I hope it goes smoothly for you. Cheers!
Just did it and it worked wonders for me. Thank U
On the menu what is al the diffrent numbers?
Does this also eliminate the "pin" from punching a hole in the bottom of the cup. If this is the case, I can't use Keurig cups, is this correct?
Dale Schut no, the pin is only effected by the other hacks that may have you jam a qtip to block the needle. The needles are not effected by this hack and all k cups are still usable.
Thanks for the video, but I like to ask how did you figure this mod out?
Found the mag sensor easy. Cut the wires and spliced. Put back together. Still the same. Don’t have access to full menu. Didn’t cut the green wire because I only use Keurig K cups. Is that why the full menu isn’t unlocked?
Shane Bagley yes, the green wire is the reason why it's not showing the full menu. Although you can continue to only use k cups and cut the green wire. It just allows more menu options for each cup.
And it worked. Wife is gonna be happy. Thanks a ton.
Way cool. I just bought the 2.0 and I like to try your idea on my K. Thanks
Help me! Can you on the k475 2.0 auto on and brew just a cup of coffee in the morning instead of carafe only, using this hack ?
