This is a clip from the movie “No Nukes”. It was a concert movie about a series of shows put together to raise money for the anti nuclear power movement of the late 70s. The soundtrack album is a 70s classic and worth listening to.
Brings tears to my eyes, almost every time that I hear this song. " I see they're runnin' too ". Sometimes I have to pull over to the side of the road.
Over the last few months it's a song I often find cropping up on Spotify when I'm out cycling in the countryside and I always almost unconsciously end up in tears.

Agreed. Hard to believe (and a huge opportunity wasted) that they didn’t film the tour that lead to ROE! Very few decent live versions of JB doing this with most of the original band. This is the best version.
When this song was released, it was a smash hit. Now, more than 40 years later, like most of Jackson Brownes music, it doesn't grow old. Like a fine wine, if anything, it only improves with age. 😁👍🍺

One of the greatest rock and roll songs of all-time.
This live one is outstanding!
“Looking out at the road rushing under my wheels.” This line hits different when you’re on your Harley literally watching the road rush right under you.
Yes!
Never seen JB so animated, rip David Lindley awesome!!❤Julian
1979 I married on June 23. I runned up for the last of my life. One of the best song keeping my life always tuned up.
1979 My senior year in high school, a week before spring break in March, we saw them at The Omni in Atlanta Georgia. These guys played for 2 solid hours. Still have the ticket $7. It’s nice to be old now, to have been young then!!
And the drummer has a really nice feel.
Russ is one of the most recorded drummers. Check out his work. Some of the most iconc albums songs of all time..Russ was the drummer en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ_Kunkel#Partial_discography
In '65 I was 15, it was a great life! :) still is
college days, walking to an Econ class, spring march day, brisk morning with heavy dew, and this song is in my head. march 1980, university of Illinois campus and forty four years that morning is still crystal clear in mind,
One of the greatest 70's songs. Rock and the roll.
Jebus!..this song is an ANTHEM of the 70's and 80s...you can relate to every single word!!
1st big concert I went to: this tour, Charlotte, N.C. I was 15. Thanks, to my uncle, Steven.
Really miss David Lindley. So glad he was a part of the Running on Empty tour!
Jackson Browne's best song ever.
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! I was pregnant with my daughter in 1979. In fact, here in a few days (2019), she'll be 40! JB is one of the best singers/bands EVER! 1970's - My FAVE music era!
For a guy who didn't think he needed drums, that drumming by Russ Kunkle is badass. Long live Jackson.
This is a clip from the movie “No Nukes”. It was a concert movie about a series of shows put together to raise money for the anti nuclear power movement of the late 70s. The soundtrack album is a 70s classic and worth listening to.
As a kid of 12 watching BJ and the Bear and this song playing made it a favorite of mine! Still is to this day at 54 ..
@@Into1657 Yes, maybe as I get older I'm gettin' little soft and sentimental. Mebbe I always was, keep on rollin !
“I don’t know when that road turned onto the road I’m on.” 😢
I'm the same ! I was single when this came out and we played it at my " party house " until there weren't any grooves left in the album ! Simpler times for me then , but great times . I think I owned two pairs of jeans and five t-shirts , broke by Tuesday from partying on the weekend and no bills , life was good !
Jackson is a master of devastatingly wonderful/thought-provoking music.
I think this may be the best live version ever recorded.
Certainly the closest version to what was on the actual album.
@@greypossum1 Album was my favorite. Lindley more under control. he never as far as I heard ever played exactly like he did on the album ever again
Agreed. Hard to believe (and a huge opportunity wasted) that they didn’t film the tour that lead to ROE! Very few decent live versions of JB doing this with most of the original band. This is the best version.
@@kendebeer6080 And there is no Kootch on this version.
@@BabyBoomerChannel Agreed!!
Going to see him in a few weeks. Can't wait.
This was when there was something for everyone in music and lots of it. Buying music going to concerts.
I sense a total feeling of joy by watching this clip. Musicians having FUN. They way life SHOULD be.
2021. I’m only 31 years old and I will say this song is a total bop!
When this song was released, it was a smash hit. Now, more than 40 years later, like most of Jackson Brownes music, it doesn't grow old. Like a fine wine, if anything, it only improves with age. 😁👍🍺
I don't play this song while I'm driving. ... can't concentrate on the road... can't keep my foot off the gas pedal when Lindley pours it on. A profound timeless song, full of humanity .... a timeless band. What a gift.
Thanks Greg for introducing me to this enormous personality. In Joplin
Best performance...and best hair. Just got tickets to see him next Sept in California. Can't wait.
How was it?!
One of my favourite songs of that era. Brings back fond memories. Thanks Jackson Brown. Rosemary Butler was a great back up singer then and still is. Beautiful voice. 😀 Russ Kunkle on drums. One of the all time greatest drummers. 👍 Who needs a whining, twanging , steel guitar when you have a class 1 Dobro player. RIP David Lindley.
