Special Thanks to Kia at Lydia Braiding and Bill C. for driving all around the OC with me.
I reserve the right to be, on occasion, full of it.
Jackson Brown's mom was my 11th grade English teacher. Great person and a great teacher, I still have clear memories of learning to appreciate literature in her classroom. I have no doubt she was a huge influence on him as a person and artist. I have a great deal of respect for Jackson's music, hard work and his dedication to his craft.
Fantastic video, thanks for sharing!
That is fantastic!
I am from rural Michigan and moved to LA in my 20s.. I have remained here for nearly 40 years because of stories like yours. many times as an electrician I have worked for very note worthy people that have helped my appreciation and understanding of life.. What a great memory for you
Haven't we all, at some point in our lives, willingly or unwillingly, turned into the 'pretender' ? Deep down inside, at least for a millisecond, we have. Great songwriters like Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon made us reflect on our human similarities and faults, our hopes and dreams, our successes and failures. I grew up with the best music. I loved this video. Thank you Tim☮️💙
I think you have said it rather perfectly. Similarities and faults...
@@RockessentialTim I think your videos are eloquent and beautiful... You take us on a journey that no one can do like you. Your love of music, and language to explain and express what we see, and what we inevitably feel through your videos, is special. And you take us to the physical places where it all began! Thank you so much!
Side note: I met Jackson Browne in the early '80's. My friend and I had general admission tickets to see him. We were some of the very first in line to enter the outdoor venue, so we had first in row. During the stage set up, the staging collapsed! No one was hurt, but the outdoor show was cancelled. On the way home, we drove past a well known ice cream/burger place called Eskimo King. And parked in the lot was Jackson Browne's tour bus! We recognized his bus from the concert venue, and immediately turned into the Eskimo King. We parked our car and walked over to the ordering windows to see what, if anything, there was to see, and YES!! there was Jackson Browne in line, waiting to order food! My friend and I approached him and told him we were on our way home, and were at the show before the staging collapsed. We said we were sorry that happened and we loved him. He gave us both an autograph. I still have mine. The paper has yellowed, but my memory will never fade of the night I met Jackson Browne. He was very cool. That was 40 yrs ago. I did finally see him in concert in Boston during the early 2000's. ☮️💙🎶
@@cindypowers4993 What an amazing memory!
One of the Godfathers of the California Singer-Songwriter Sound for sure. Hope you like it!
I very much enjoyed the video about Jackson. I've been a long time fan of his since my early teens and now I'm in my 60s.
In the last month discovered JB's channel on UA-cam filmed in his home studio like a year ago during the pandemic. One video of just Jackson and his piano, playing The Pretender. Love it!! Plus there are other videos of him playing a few of his songs with a few band members and one video with one of his back up singers. All beautiful songs! Jackson still has a great singing voice after all these years!
Peace &; Blessings...
@@leslienavarrete3760 I have to agree with your point about his singing voice. It still sounds great. I think maybe he wrote songs in a lower key and over the years he hasn't strained his voice to the point of ruin like a lot of other singers.
The abbey is owned by Jackson's brother Severin Browne. It is a beautiful house and Severin does live house concerts once a month on the first Friday.
I seen Jackson in a small venue in Ventura. He likes to tell stories while he's tuning up. He is a real stand up guy
Much to my shame, I've never seen him live but I intend to when he tours this year. And I agree, he seems like a stand up guy for sure.
@@RockessentialTim you are forgiven. Don't you worry about it lol
My favorite story about Jackson is Glenn Frey's story about listening to Jackson's songwriting process through the floor of their small apartment, as Jackson conceived, arranged, worked out vocal phrasings, added lyrics and stopped for the tea kettle, all within Glenn's earshot. Then after tea, Jackson was back at the piano, crafting. Talk about a phd lesson in songwriting.
One of if not my favorite musicians . The soundtrack of my life 🕊️
61 years of my best guy and it never changed
Only in California...... 1971. Once in a while, us younger guys get to pile in the back of an old station wagon with brothers, cousins, etc. and leave our home beach of Santa Monica to go surf somewhere else. A few times we ran into a guy playing his guitar at the beach in between good surf. He was pretty good, and was asking "what do think about this song?" A couple of the older guys got invited by him to parties in Laurel and Topanga Canyons. I was just in jr. high, and certainly not invited. But we did know that those two places, were somehow special and magical. Jackson was a really nice guy to everyone. It was pretty amazing when a few months later, we recognized his song on the radio, "Doctor, My Eyes". We never saw him surf there again. You just never know.............
Great story and I couldn't agree more, you just never know...
Steve Martin mentions in his book "Born Standing Up" that he and Jackson did a few of the same open mic's in Fullerton in the 60's. I took a guitar lesson off Severin once and he was living in the Abby at the time. That's where the lesson was. Surreal to be sitting inside it.
Wow that is too cool! I think I'd pay for a lesson just to walk in that place and take a look around. It is truly one of the coolest pieces of architecture in the entire city!
Lifelong fan of Jackson here and I thoroughly enjoyed this video, Tim. Very well done. Bravo.
Tanks!
I grew up in Fullerton a few years after JB. He went to Sunny Hills and I went to Buena Park. We'd go see him in the clubs in LA and sometimes he'd come over to say hello. Pretty mellow dude. He'd be playing with Henley, Ronstadt, JD Souther or somebody. Funny to look back and know that now they are legends.
There seemed to be such a great sense of community back then...
Love him! Great singer/song writer ❤❤❤
Fabulous as always my friend! Who doesn’t love Jackson Browne?!
RIght on, Drew!
Yeah!!!! Thank you!!!! Another super job!
Thanks!
He is 1 of my favorite rockers of all my life!!! He like Poco and a few others made me feel good when I listened 2 them!!!🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
Love Jackson's music. Became a fan as a child, my father was always listening to Jackson and For Everyman is my Dad's favorite song. Just saw Jackson live on 9/1/23 in Bridgeport Connecticut he sounds just as good live as he always has and his band was amazing ❤
Love hearing that he still sounds great.
Thanks for this video. The older I get, the more grateful I am to artists who bring up fond memories of my past. Jackson Browne's voice can still send me right back to the 70s. ❤❤❤
The thing that I think he did that was unintentionally brilliant was not pitch his songs too high. He can still sing them easily and well all these years later.
It's amazing to me how all these future stars hung out with each other and jammed! Jackson is a legend
It was kinda like the artists and writers in Paris in the 20's and 30's. Incredible!
The early Seattle grunge scene was very similar as well.
@@stevemahoney1733 Would have loved to have experienced that one from ground zero!
Had such a big crush on him in my 20’s, still kind of do. He is great!!
"Jimmy found his own sweet sound and won that free guitar
We'd all get in the van and play
Life became the Paradox, the Bear, the Rouge et Noir
And the stretch of road running to LA"
Jackson Brown - "The Barricades of Heaven"
One of my favorites!
Love your videos ! My Brother turned me on to him with 'Late For The Sky' ...Saw his 'Runnin tour' in Baton Rouge 1978, Karla Bonoff opened. Stiil playin his vinyls "These Days".....TY again
Its always nice working on these vids cuz I get to listen to all their music in an obsessive way like when I was younger. I tend to forget how much music these artist used to put out!
I have to say you are so professional with your videos and extremely knowledgeable! Thank you for making these. I’m 34 but I love the 60’s and 70’s so much. I get so much out of your videos! Keep doing what you’re doing I appreciate it!!
What can I say, I really LOVE talking about music and I live in LA so... Thanks much for your comment. Made my day!
In the Shape of a Heart - great story telling and imagery. Thanks for focusing on unquestionably as great a songwriter as they come.
Thanks much. He's also seems to be unquestionably as great a person as they come.
Thank You so much for another stellar installment! You do a great service with these videos and are a great writer! Your words make these wonderful!!
Thanks, Ed. It is so much my pleasure to make them!
Thank you for sending me back to a time I wish would have never ended. The 70s! Jackson and me are probably close in age; I was in my 20s and he was constantly on the radio. Everywhere I went and everything I did, Running On Empty seemed to be there on the radio and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm hoping the SSP community can get me into a MedBed and perhaps a little time travel. I loved my 70s and my 80s were like a dream. I want to go back... We'll see.
At this point in my life I'm just hoping to experience my 70's and 80's! Seriously though, thanks for the cool comment, we sure had some great music to remember our youth with.
I remember hearing 'That Girl Could Sing' + 'Boulevard' in 1980 and in no-way would ever believe that was the same songwriter who wrote 'Doctor My Eyes' from 1972, that AM staple. He had reinvented himself and Jackson could rock, if he chose to. I'll always associate Jackson to the 'No Nukes' movement, and I've always had the highest regard for Jackson's Browne consciousness, every bit as great as his songwriting talent. Rare.
I couldn't agree more with you. He has used his celebrity for the greater good and as you point out, that is rare.
LOL, that AM staple, " Doctor My Eyes" has quite a jazzy undertone, and as is typical of him, has a deeper meaning than typical AM fodder of the era. Not surprising, his Dad was an English teacher and amateur jazz musician on the side.
Thanks for this video. It was great to see the places Jackson grew up. As a songwriter Ithink is catalog speaks for itself. Absolutely fantastic musician and writer.
I saw Jackson brown in the early 2000's when he opened for the Eagles here in Las Vegas. He was fantastic.
He was there during the GREATEST era of " modern " music 🎶 🎼🎵 🎸 with the most talented singer songwriter and performers 👍their classic music still lives on and will NEVER fade 👍👍👍
I really look forward to these, love seeing the places and learning more about the music, it’s all about the music! Thanks Tim, Ken.
Thanks, Ken!
This video made me an even bigger fan of JB's repertoire. Love these locations. Great to see you back Tim 👍
Cool, thanks!
You knocked it out of the park again Tim. Jackson Browne's music was played on my turntable in the 70s and still today. Great artist!
Had no idea he wrote 'These Days' when he was just 16..that's incredible Tim!
Totally agree about JB not getting caught up in the excesses. Although somewhat a little wild when he was very young, he matured through that quickly.
Jackson Browne = One of the Greatest Songwriters. Still going today. If you listen to all his Albums, the consistency of Songwriting greatness is Amazing. Incidentally, the cover for Late For The Sky is based on René Magritte's Empire of Light painting
Thank you for the tour of Jackson’s beginnings. Of course I know all about Niko, Laura & Joni. I have loved Jackson from the gate, named our youngest son after him, people always ask if he knows there is a Jackson Browne, & he laughs and says “yeah, I’m named for him”. Jackson is such a pure musician & of course I have always had a crush on him. In high school, the year his 1st album came out, I found a purse made from one of those Saturate bags, my grandpa had one for his Jeep when I was a tiny girl, I loved that purse, never saw anybody else with a purse like mine. I love Jackson ❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is too cool! Its interesting cuz that name has really come back around. I've noticed a few of my grandson's classmates are named Jackson.
@@RockessentialTimyeah, that name is coming back around! My 18 year old grandson went through school with a best bud named Jackson, and yes, he was always a long haired, guitar playing hippie dude too!😂
@@cindyschneider4728
Excellent once again Tim ! So interesting to see these nondescript suburban houses where musical icons grew up.
Most of those homes (including the Browne one in Sunny Hills) probably sold for maybe 40 thousand when they were built. Now you couldn't touch even the most broken down one in that neighborhood for under 1.5 mil and I'm being conservative.
Very well done. I grew up in the housing track and strip mall wasteland of Orange County. Pity he had to live there. I guess it wasn't that bad because you could escape to the beach or mountains, LA or San Diego. There are a lot of suburban wastelands in the US where you would have to get in get in a plane to get away from.
Goodness Gracious! No matter how much time has passed… He’s still 9 years older than me. I think he’s the coolest!
I remember reading about these locations in "The Story of A Hold Out". Actually seeing these in your video gives you a much better feeling for the locations Jackson grew up in. I got to speak to Jackson in Perth. I really appreciated the few minutes he spent with me.
I'm with you. There's not a lot of verbage out there on Jackson's life, he's obviously very guarded about stuff. I read Story of a Hold Out before I did the vid and I had to pay 30 American Dollars for a rather dog-eared copy of the book! He just strikes me as a really stand up kinda guy.
Too cool, thanks Tim for documenting theses places .......and many thanks to Geffens secretary :)
Right? It didn't say who she was by name in the article I read that in. I hope she got a raise!
Great coverage! Thank you for sharing :)
Right on, thanks!
His music sil speaks to me. My daughter's have seen him in Concert too.. considering the times words resonate
Absolutely!
Running On Empty has an interesting musical thing mid-song where it emulates an engine stalling out-restarting or gear shift. Subtle. It's cool
I have never noticed that! Love it!
Great video. Great job. Enjoyed it very much. Grew up in the 70s. Graduated college in 1978. Listened to Jackson Browne. So talented. Sad lyrics at times. Very sincere and heartfelt. ❤❤❤
Thanks. I agree with you about sincere and heartfelt--he still is me thinks!
I'm 70 now and grew up listening to Jackson Brown. You did a great job with this. I learned some things I didn't know.
Jackson's still putting out good stuff. A class act.
I always called it the Saturate album. I bought this album when landed in California in the 70s.
My number was up (the draft) so I enlisted in the US Coast Guard instead of being inducted. USCG boot camp was on an island between Oakland and San Francisco. Imagine the culture shock of a middle-American kid trying to do his duty while avoiding getting sent to the jungles...instead getting sent to Haight-Ashbury/Funkadelic Oakland/Tinderbox Berkeley circa 1972
Thank you for reminding me what those times were all about. Until you mentioned it I wasn't aware how tuned-in I was to the Laurel Canyon scene during that period.
That is a great story and the very epitome of irony. Thanks for watching and thanks for serving!
Ask and Ye Shall Receive……Thanks for doing this one Tim, your knowledge and insight is always appreciated. Jackson Browne is one of the best ever to come out of the LA scene.
Ha! Jackson is kind of the Godfather of that LA singer songwriter sound so it took a bit of time to get at this one.
Always look forward to your videos!
Fascinating - thank you! I have been a fan of JB since my late teen years in Australia. Your concluding comment re his ego not getting in the way of his music certainly rings true to me.
I don't think character is necessarily a prerequisite for talent but it sure don't hurt. I heard he recently toured down your way.
@@RockessentialTim It may not be a necessary prerequisite for talent, and it certainly doesn't hurt, but I believe very much that character is a prerequisite for ENDURING talent and longevity in any craft, trade, or ambition.
@@gregb3457 The optimist in me hopes you are right!
Fabulous video....I grew up listening to Jackson as my mom loved his music and would often play Late For the Sky and The Pretender after a few drinks....I later re-discovered his music as a teen musician and his music has been a part of my life ever since....thanks for this.
His music still sounds really fresh to me. Not an easy task...
Good son! There are four words in the English language I am not allowed to use according to my kids- Jackson Browne Warren Zevon. My husband was my, and their, music professor. We married arguing over attendance at an Eagles Concert. He introduced me to the Laurel Canyon crowd, so it's all good!
Hope your Mom worked thinks out with her drinking problem.
Saw Jackson Browne a few years ago. Thanks for sharing his history we've always liked him.
This entry written on 6/26/'23. I first saw Jackson Browne when a young lady and I went to see Laura Nyro at the Dorthy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles, I believe that was in 1971 or 1972. He was the opening act. After that, I was hooked. One of my favorite songs is 'Ready or Not'.
Too cool. Much to my shame, I have yet to see him but I know he's on tour now so.....
As strange this may sound, but , in 1971, I am 11 yrs. old, my family and I are driving home from somewhere and listening to the radio we here a live song! Running on Empty, yes, Jackson Brown. It's the same recording, and after the DJ said he was sorry, because he said too " I didn't know where that came from." Wow!!! Or what? It seemed to say something, are we running on empty, some how?
Thanks for the history and background of JB🙏🏼❤️👍. Nice to see the houses he grew up in and the Abbey is beautiful. For someone so successful, Jackson Browne seems to be the least egotistical person ever!!
You have a new subscriber 👍. Keep up the good work 👏👏
Yes, I would have to agree about JB. The Abbey is a place you could stare at for hours. Thanks for the sub!
Thank you again for the wonderful insights, info, stories, and locations, stellar job as always and no one does the mini UA-cam rock-doc better than you, such a joy these continue to be, Jackson is a truly brilliant songwriter, they don't make 'em like this guy anymore, so masterful in marrying words and music together with emotion and meaning. My favorites written by him are too many to mention.
I think he is one of those rare talents that has not subsided with age. I was watching a youtube thang on him recently and his voice is as good as ever. I think he was really smart in not originally singing his songs in a comfortable range.
Awesome piece once again Tim.
Thanks, Henry.
Well done tim . Great hearing about Jackson . Great era
Thanks much!
Thank you, very informative history as always. 👏 👏 👏
Right on, thanks.
I Love Jackson Brown ..
Great video. He has some really great songs.
Right on Bob and I hope everything is good up there. Spring has sprung here in California!
Love Jackson Browne's music. He has so much talent and class.
Talent and Class. Perfectly put....
Very nice video well done. Definitely a new subscriber thanks
Thanks and thanks for the sub. Much appreciated!
thanks for sharing another cool segment of a great artist , Cheers Tim ✌️
You too, thanks!
Tim, this was a brilliant mini documentary on Jackson's formative years. Thanks for taking us on a great journey. My wife and I had booked to see him in Sydney a few days ago, but unfortunately Jackson was unwell and missed both the Melbourne and Sydney dates. We hope he recovers soon and continues to bring such joy to so many. An incredible songwriter, those first five albums up to and including Running on Empty, were magical. He was truly the tear ducts of a generation. All the best and keep them coming.😊
I'm sorry to hear that. I know some folks in NZ who are looking forward to some shows there soon. Is he rescheduling the dates? Much to my everlasting shame I have never seen him play live. Hopefully I can rectify that this year!
@@RockessentialTim
Jackson has pledged to return to fulfill those gigs. Fingers crossed. Hope your friends in NZ get to see him.
Much appreciated this narrative. Love Jackson Browne and him music
I went to his concert in Melbourne in 1986 after work in my railway uniform, my favourite musician😅.
Fabulous blog on a great artist, thank you so much, terrific job as usual .
Right on. Thanks my man!
Well done, thanks. 🎶🙏
Tim, fantastic insight into JB's life. His songs always struck a chord with me, even in my teen years. In my 60's now and travelling for work. Still start all my road trips with prayers for a safe trip, then Running on Empty cranked up loud.
I loved doing this one. In my opinion he is just a class guy.
@@RockessentialTim I agree. One of the hardest working guys in the business too. I come from a blue collar background and his songs really resonated with me. I could tell in the video you really enjoyed telling his story. The pretender says thanks again.
Thank you very much for this trip down memory lane. Jackson Browne was surely a part of the soundtrack of my youth, first album I bought was 'Late for the sky' and many others followed. A fan from Belgium, Europe.
Thank you so much and I am glad you liked it.
One of my favorite solo artists ever. Love the deep commentary provided by the lyrics to so many of his songs. One of my personal favorites is "Only Child" from The Pretender. So much about him I did not know until I saw this video on the story and the locations!
BTW - I noticed that you write and produce the music in you videos - great stuff Tim ! Looking forward to checking out more....Tom
Thanks much. What is great about doing these vids is once in a while I find myself really being drawn in by an artist and by the time I'm done with the video I've become a total fan and I must say, JB was one of those guys for me. Just a truly classy guy.
Thanks for this. I grew up in Santa Monica and recall at age 13 rushing down to McCabes music store with my girlified trying to buy Jackson Browne tics. I think this was 1973. We were too late, but I have been a huge fan since hearing his first album and For Everyman.
I loved McCabes on Pico. I got to see a few shows there but the one that really stands out was Jim Carroll of Basketball Diaries fame. One of the better shows I have ever seen!
Great video, I really enjoyed it. I like a lot of Jackson Browne's music. I love the 'Runnin' on Empty,' album (who doesn't), lol. Every song on it is really good! One song in particular I really like is 'Cocaine.' It was recorded in a Holiday Inn motel room in Edwardsville, Illinois, (St. Louis - area), my being as a St. Louis - area resident found this to be very cool. I really enjoy your videos, keep 'em coming!!!
Thanks Jimmy!
Well done. Jackson Browne is a super songwriter, musician, and good guy.

Props to you 👍. Another great segment down memory lane.
Glad you enjoyed it
Certainly an integral part of the California sound, such a great singer-songwriter. Love all the interconnections among the musicians of that era. Great to see "the abbey" and the other locations associated with Jackson Browne. California Cool is often associated with design. In this case, I would have to say it applies to JB and his aesthetic as well. It was interesting to hear that he collaborated on the original music for Daisy Jones & the Six. Tim thanks for your work on helping us access these places and their history. It brings up such great memories of listening to am radio during my 70s childhood.
I didnt know that he helped with the music for Daisy. I've been watching it and I found the Bobby (?) character to be an amalgum of Jackson and Lindsey Buckingham. Interesting.
Great video man, my dad’s cousin is Eric Brown. So I guess he’d be my 2nd cousin. Always heard many stories about Jackson. Loved hearing his name in your video. Side story, we stayed at Jackson’s place he had in Santa Barbara one weekend. He wasn’t there but I remember I had to take a nap so I slept in his bed. Pretty crazy. Keep up the great vids man!
Before doing this vid I had no idea how deep your Browne's roots were here in California. Just the pre-Jackson family history is enough to fill a book. Fascinating stuff for sure.
Another home run!!! I wish I could give multiple thumbs up!!
Well you can always just watch it again, right? Thanks!
I have watched several times already. Such a wealth of information on some of my beloved artists. Thanks again.
David Lindley, King of Polyester and Strings, was huge part of Jackson's career for many years, and could probably have played any stringed instrument. And he was also a good guy.
i've seen Jackson many times in concert , one of my favorites being
"The gorge " in washington state .
jackson made a hilarious remark about Davids clothing before he came on stage . un fortunately i'm too old to remember what he said .😂
On 1986 (or there abouts) El Rayo-X was appearing at The Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. (I saw them there a couple of times) a few miles from my hometown of Escondido) and I made a point of arriving a little earlier than usual to catch him pre-show after their sound check to make a special "offering" personally to Mr. Dave himself of something near and dear to his "shameful, lustful sickness" ( his words) of two pieces of polyester clothing - one pair of white Farrah slacks with green & yellow vericle stripes that looked just like Beech Nut Fruit Striped gum, with a wide bell-bottom flare - which he was very impressed with ("Where th' HELL did you find these? El-Habu is pleased!" he said with a fraternal bow) as well as a God-awful shiny Polyester buttoned shirt of black, red, and white swirls wide very wide lapels ("This shirt looks ANGRY" he said, holding it out and admiring it with a evil smile...the only cost for them, I asked, was if I could do for him MY Jimmy Stewart impression, seeing as how he was well known for his. He said "W-w-w-ell s-s-ure, of c-c-c-ourse!" and well, I did mine to him, and, although I can't say here what I said back to him, but - he threw his head back and roared, laughing so hard he almost pissed himself, I mean laughed for a solid 3 or 4 minutes solid, saying, "Oh! Oh that's just The Shit, man, that's so messed up!!" Later, during the show, he repeated my line Jimmy-style into the mike during their Ska-tinged "Werewolves Of London" and I was so proud of that moment, that I made someone that I admire so much so happy with laughter & joy, made my night!!
The afternoon that he died I just sat down and teared up, like getting punched in the stomach, just in absolute disbelief.....it was hard to believe that someone so cool, with so much soul & once-in-a-lifetime talent as Mr. David Lindley could be taken away.....R.I.P., El Habu.
I love these videos. Thanks so much for posting these awesome tours.
Thanks much!
Thanks for this as always, Tim!
Another great one! I'm following along on google maps, as usual!
Very cool. It never occurred to me to do!

We just saw Jackson in Hiroshima and Nagoya! Great shows, especially Hiroshima! The band was great but we miss David Lindley and Jeff Young! I first saw him at Anaheim Stadium opening for Linda Ronstadt and the Eagles in 1974 or 75!
Your post is very interesting to me cuz my wife always talks about the time she saw Jackson with the Eagles and Linda at Anaheim Stadium. I think it was 75!
@@RockessentialTim Great video! - just found it while I am in the middle of reading JB The Story of a Holdout. I first saw Jackson when he played piano with The Eagles for their Cal Jam 1 performance 4/6/1974. Just one week ahead of my 14th birthday and starting to play guitar myself, it was a phenomenal happening. Just saw him last year at Red Rocks and what a great show.
@@jimwalters1964 I read that book to research the vid. There is not a whole lot of biographical content out there on him.
PS: I had to pay like 30 bucks for a pretty ragged, dog-eared copy of it.
@@RockessentialTim I think you're right...1975! I sat in the infield on 2nd base with a bunch of guys from my high school water polo team. Had a bota bag of tequila strapped to my ankle underneath my bell bottom jeans! (Don't tell!) Best regards to your wife! In Nagoya Jackson remarked "my first album came out 50 years ago!" Then he shook his head and launched into Take It Easy. He was singing great btw. Greg Leisz (lap, pedal, guitar), Bob Glaub (bass), Mason Stoops (guitar), Jason Crosby (violin and keys), and the amazing Chavonne Stewart and Alethea Mills tearin' up the background vocals. Those women can sing!!!
LOve your channell bro. I just shared this with my best friend Pamela Poland. She was touched.
That is too cool! Her name came up a lot during my research for this vid. Give her my best.
Once again Tim, another great and very informative video. LA, Hollywood and Laurel Canyon just has such a magical vibe. I could live there without a doubt. But I would wish it would be the LA, Hollywood and Laurel Canyon that they were back in the 60s. I have seen others videos on Laurel Canyon. That would be where I would want to have lived back then.
Interesting video. It's a long time since I listened to him. Must do so right now.
Love Jackson Browne's music, I've begged several UA-camrs to do a video on him and you're the first to do so. Thanks so much, the guys my favorite rock and roller of all times.
It was an interesting vid to make. JB is a guy who obviously guards his privacy so it was a challenge to uncover some of these locations. But he's just one of the coolest musician's ever!
small detail that LFTSky chevy is a 1954 Bel Air. Our family had one till the early 60s. Wish i could afford one today😊
This was a great video, thank you! My wife met Jackson back stage in St. Louis a number of years ago and has always loved his music.
Every story I hear about him is a positive one. I think that says all that needs to be said about a person, right?
Just got in from an Ibeyi concert to find this gem of a video waiting for me. So happy that you made it. Jackson is one of my favorites. Jackson always had such great musicians working with him. Thanks for the very best content. RIP Jeff Young and David Lindley. You will be missed !!🕊🕊💖
I didn't know Jeff Young had passed! Sheeze.
