- While "manager" in English can refer to both a man or a woman. In Czech we differentiate between genders. A male manager is "manažer" while a female manager is "manažerka". In this lesson we will look at Czech genders in the professional world. We will look at the rules for how the names of professions change in the male and female form, as well as learn about the infamous exceptions to the rules.

they do! :) fyzička, vědkyně, výzkumnice
And careful how you are making the soft signs on your keyboard. They look different. Usually you would press Shift and the Czech soft sign on the keyboard.

Ahoj! I doubt there's any chance this comment will be noticed, but if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it! I'm going to Prague in a few days and I know I am nowhere fluent enough to actually carry out some of these dialogues confidently, but I'd still like to learn these basic phrases to continue to learn after my trip and maybe find a local willing enough to let me speak very brokenly to them xD My question is however, I am currently just a retail worker, and I have tried to find a translation for it, but I don't seem to have much luck with getting a concise answer from the internet. How would you say "retail worker"? Also this may be irrelevant but I work at a retail pet store as well, and I mainly do animal care and not much retail in all honestly. Would there be a translation to say "pet store worker"/"pet specialist"? I also want to be able to say I am going to become a translator, though I am sure that is in a different lesson! For now I will (hopefully correctly) give male and female versions for what I found for translator: překladatel-překladatelka

Oh, well, the easiest solution: try to translate into English
Kdo to je? - To je Jaromír Jágr.
Who is it? - It is Jaromír Jágr.
If you would say: Kdo to je? On je Jaromír Jágr.. well, that wouldn't be fully a mistake, but it would not really sound Czech. If you are talking about something/someone and you are referring to what you see/what you talked about just now with your partner, you use the TO JE...
Completely same as in many other languages, just like English, Russian...
In spanish I am a little unsure. What would be correct translation in Spanish?

Tlumočnik. In the previous video I just took a guess and assumed the feminine version would be tlumočnika. But after searching I found it's tlumočnice. Is that right?

To je dobra věc že myslíš o světle když natáčí, ale snažil se ne dávat světla od dolu protože na nosu je hrozný stín. Tvůj střih a kvalita zvuku jsou moc dobré. Jedna věc je jenom špatná : intro a outro jsou moc hlasité

Barteku, mám pro tebe taky feedback: pozor na "mít rád" - rád se dívám (když je tam verbum), mám rád pizzu (když je tam substantivum, nějaká věc, kterou máš rád), neříkej mám rád + verbum. Na tohle budu mít taky časem video :)
