I prefer the Gen 3 lower but I have a 19X with a Dagger RMR Cut SW4 Upper on my G19X lower. Slapped a 407c x2 on her & a 15lb recoil spring because the stock 18lb would cycle slow.
She runs great. Now I have a complete stock upper & a Gen 3 Optics Upper. What's odd is, I have a OW Precision TAC Trigger w/ bar installed, a 3lb connector & a master trigger spring kit. With the stock upper on, I get a 6lb pull. With the Sagger Upper on, I get a 2.7 to 3lb very short to the wall & very short forced reset. I bought the complete upper for $200 shipped. Beats sending my stock upper off for milling, etc.

I've carried it every day since I've bought it and I love it..it's compact enough to get a good grip and carry and conceal. Of course that's my opinion. Lol i own gen 3, 4, and 5. The gen 3 is not superior. The gen 5 has backstraps to fit more hand sizes, better barrell even though you cant notice its there, better mag release, ambi slide release, and can switch mag release, beveled mag well for quicker mag changes, mos version, front serrations, the slide is rounded on the front to make it easier in and out holster. The gen 5 is the same gun with more features. So tell me how the gen 3 is better?

I own two Glocks, both Gen "3" one is a compact, one is a full size duty gun. have owned them both for many years, no problems ten round mags work just fine especially if u buy 4 or 5 of them and have them secured in pistol pouches on your belt or body armor when your armed and doing your work. the thing to note is that Gaston Glock designed these pistols for the Austrian military but in the U.S. civilian and Civilian police agencies embraced them quickly and then the Federal Law enforcement agencies and THEN!!! lastly the U.S. Military aquired them for specific units and S.O.F. style troops.now the U.S. MIlitary has the Modular pistol in the M18 for the Marine Corps and M19 I believe for the U.S. Army which is a SIG SAUER designed pistol which was specifically requested too meet the U.S. Armys specifications one of them being MODULARITY as well as HAVING A SAFETY ( glocks dont have physical thumb safetys)

Good stuff, I’ve been carrying a Gen3 19 since 2006 with the modification being a set of trijicon HD orange sights. With the exception of some poorly made hand loads it has never failed to go bang. Thanks for a great video, I left California and now have a gen5 19, 17 and 45. Save yourself and leave California. Oh and I paddled my kayak in both fresh and salt water with that Glock in my PFD and just rinsed it in the sink when I got home, re-lubed it and put it back in the appendix carry. Great guns and a very well made video wish I would have had this video in the eighties, I may have switched to Glock sooner.

Pulling shots left? Both of my G19 3rd gen I own did this and are the only guns of many brands/models I own that I had an issue with. My son (a very good shot) also owns a G19 3rd gen and same results for him. I tried every kind of grip: tight, light, 60/40 and normal. I tried different finger placement on the trigger: tip of pad, center of pad and 3/4 of the pad....same results. Frustrating, as I was qualified expert shooter in the military and law enforcement with various types of pistol/rifle.
Not to be beaten, I discovered through dry firing what's going on. You'll notice the front sight will twitch as soon as the trigger breaks. My G30, G36 and my G26 do NOT do this...but BOTH of my G19 3rd gen do. I decided to replace the trigger with the Apex trigger, connector and safety plunger kit ($100.00) . Problem solved, no longer do I pull shots left, so I did the same to my other G19 3rd gen. and again problem solved. My suspicion is the connector/sear engagement surface angle, you could get an aftermarket Ghost or Apex connector for about $20.00. Now the G19 3rd gen is my favorite carry. I also put steel Ameriglo night sights on both of them.
    Hope this helps...

You do not oil the guide rails. You put 1 tiny drop of oil (and I mean tiny) on the guide grooves on the inside of the slide. Put the slide back together and then back on the frame.
Then, you rack the slide just 2 or 3 times to spread the oil. That's it. No more, no less.

@scooterboy423 - if you’re looking for a larger size mag release, they’re available at places like Glock store and other online firearms accessory sites. Very inexpensive and easy to install. I purchased one for my G22 and it protruded out a bit too far for my liking and I ended up taking it out. There are plenty of custom options out there to choose from. Lubing it to death out of the box was unneeded. There is copper lubricant on the slide rails for break-in purposes. Probably no harm done, but the book says what the book says for a reason. I don't generally clean new Glocks until at least 500 rounds, largely to let the copper assembly lube do its job.

I used to want the gen 5 so badly. But after having handled both I notice the finger grooves allow me to hole down the muzzle much better from flipping and the mag release is not so easy to accidently hit. I've watched at least 3 police shootings with gen 5 glocks where officers accidentally hit the mag release on the draw or mid gun fight. I never saw that with officers who used the gen 3. So for me, I'll stick to gen 3
