Great video! A lot of us consistent shooters are familiar with most of the video but I definitely learned a lot. And it’s nice to have this all contained in one video to refer back to.
LENNY! Why don't Y'ALL (The Glockstore) make a 15rd capacity magazine for the 43X? There's obviously a HUGE market for them (PSA can't make em fast enough). I'm sure there are a TON of people who would rather buy a high quality magazine from YOU, rather than settling for one of the other manufacturers. C'mon buddy, whadya say? Btw, thank you for all the great content. You are a huge credit to the industry. 😉
The way glock mags are built, are with polymer, and a metal sleeve on the inside that takes up space of those extra 5 bullets, full metal magazine would wear down your plastic mag catch of your glock over time. This is why s15 mags that make your 43x/48 15 rounds are all metal, and are sold with a metal mag catch to replace the OEM
It's nice to know I can use newer generations in my generation 1 model 17. I do not shoot it as often as I once did but I do keep it serviceable. I cleaned it yesterday and noticed my original mags have bulged out and no longer eject from the firearm (never were drop free mags but i never had to work at getting them out of the gun either). I had to pry one of them out and so I test fitted the other and it is the same way.

I have had a Gen5 G43X for about 2 years now. I quickly found that Shield Arms offers larger 15 round magazines for this gun. I bought 3 magazines from them. They do not have the Glock plastic jacket, and are only metal cased allowing for an expanded magazine with double stacking and they do work very well even after 1,000 rounds. They suggest you buy their mag release for compatibility and operation giving you left and right release. They do not rattle in the lower frame and function just like the Glock OEM models. The only down side to this other than the materials is that Glock parts will not work in them for bases, extensions and so on, but they do offer their own parts.
I have a pro to a 45 ACP carbine rifle that takes Glock 21 magazines. Do you know what model of a Glock 21 magazines this excepts? For example, I know there is a G4. I know there is a G5 and I also know that there is an FS this one that I have is a 13 round capacity magazine, but for some reason I cannot find the proper magazine for this particular rifle. The Gen5 mags are not compatible with the G19x due to the 19x front lip not being cut out and prevents the magazine from seating. While its newer sister gun the G45 does accept the gen5 mags.
I cut the tab off of the grip of my 19x. I have several gen 5 mags and most of my friends do so I wanted interchangeability. It was easy to do. That tab on the grip is kinda pointless anyway.
My 1st Gen will drop an empty mag, but will retain it until there's 4-5 rounds left in it...can be a little tight seating a full mag, not hard, but a little more pressure than a steel mag in another type of pistol. Seat it with some authority, and no worries....
Are the magazine parts compatible with each other? Will the base plates of Gen 5 fit Gen 3/4? I understand the non-lube requirement, but how about the use of the dry lubes available on the market? I have used those for a number of years and have not had the 'gunk' problems wet lubes have.
Personally, I don’t care all that much about the drop-free vs. retained magazines. I’m not really a combat or competition shooter. However I have had an HK with the bulge-type magazines, and a Glock with the metal-lined magazines. And I prefer the metal-lined ones. They feel a little more “robust”, if you will. The HK feed lips would spread slightly when the mag was loaded. Even though they never malfunctioned on me, and even though my brain knows that the frame of the pistol will keep everything aligned properly, it always seemed/felt a little bit weak to me. In short, I like the current Glock design better.
So can my magazine extension from my Glock 19 gen3 go onto my 45? It’s all 9mm but since the magazines are different do I have to come back into the Glock store or should I buy a gen 3 magazine for my 45?
Is the new gun owner I'm very paranoid about gun safety. But still a little behind on models, so I was wondering if the mobile safe will work on a Glock 47?
