  • And even more 2008 9-3 Aero XWD headlight stuff. Doing some wiring on the car for anti-strobe turn signals, lots of wiring, and lots of testing. Most parts shown in this video were purchased from TheRetrofitSource.com and Amazon using my own sad money.

    I have a 04 9-3 with xenon headlights. And it seems that the shutters for the high beams are not functioning. Do you have any thoughts on that?

    This is so helpful. Would I still need the relay if I were just to install the white strip and no other leds as you did? Will the White 12 inch strip flash without the relay?

      If you're replacing only the eyebrow strip and leaving incandescent bulbs in the turn signals, no relay needed.

    Did you do anything to get the led turning bulb not to flash with bulb test system? And no hyper flashing because of lower resistance?

      Yes. The relay/resistor setup is what corrects that issue. No hyper flashing because the relay completely isolates the bulb when it's not powered on.

    Let me know how that double sided tape on the resistor works long term if you ever pull the bumper off again. I've been hesitant to use tape as the resistors do fetch a decent amount of heat.

      Had the bumper off last month. Still holding. Just used 3M 5 lbs rated mounting tape.

    So does the swiveling of the projectors still function properly? I know the electronics with these cars are sensitive to voltage differences and are a pain to solve..

      Yep! I show off this functioning in Part 7. Should be up in a 2 weeks or so.

    I wonder if there's something similar to Carly for BMW's for Saabs where you can simply code the car to skip the volt check? I did that on my BMW, otherwise seems like a very long workaround for a simple problem: ua-cam.com/video/4E80Q-8kbqg/v-deo.html

    11:35 that’s not considered hyper flashing?? I feel like it’s blinking pretty quickly

      When I've said hyper flash in these videos I'm usually referring to the canbus pulse flash from the body control module checking the bulbs.

    Does this fix the flicker when your car is off as well??

    • @KenCarTechMeow
      @KenCarTechMeow  4 роки тому

      It does. Not that you won't get an alert on your dash if the bulb dies though.

      Perfect, been trying to figure out how to fix my 9-3 2.0T
