On og 9-5s the switch actually does what it says from factory. I had no idea the facelift models stayed on so thanks for this

I just pulled my daytime running light fuse on my O2 and it actually kills the light all the way to the far left, While all the other functions still work

Dude, should I fix rust (dog leg rear left) and respray my 9-5 Launch built in 1997 chassie no 3500 and fix the turbo, pixel display et al or just sell it on? If you say yes I will and proudly display her at the 2022 Saab Festival in Troll. Promise to let the Merc rest at home.

Looked over her today. A rust fix, new calilipers, pixel display resto, new turbo and a respray of the hood and left rear dooor should do the trick. Wish I had MR Ammo at hand for this very special Saab when it comes to compound detailing. The roof, bonnet, sills et all are all fine.
Maptun will do the T7 fix, hone the cylinders and the respraying of the valve cover.
Interior detailing will be done buy a local company. It will look and feel like a just of the production line car
Can americans like Mr Cammo travel to Sweden right now if fully vaccinated? Can I go state side?

Another good vid on Arbor Green, though I happen to like daytime running lights. Maybe it's b/c I've seen too many drivers nowadays at night w/o headlights! (Anyway, did I hear a kitten meow @0:40? Or am I confusing my car channels w/animal ones...)😂

Another nice tech 2 mod is the fog light on with side makers. You can leave the light switch on the middle setting, keeping the main beams off and use the easier to replace fog lights as DRL in addition to the small parking/side marker lights if desired.
What setting is that one? Right now I've got DLR off. My markers don't even turn on. But I've got it so my fogs, low, and hi beams all come on together when I turn my brights on.
Couldn't get the fogs with markers live I've seen other Dame's.

@@xxxDlewisxxx strange. I tested each setting trying to get parking lights with fogs, and it never happened. I was happy being able to have all three lights on with brights on.
I'll have to mess with it again when I have more time to mess with settings.

those lights switches, the right one u can have high beams on without holding, left u gotta hold to have high beams on and middle is off no lights:)

Have you ever thought about swapping the Orange Side Marker to Clear Euro Style Side Marker it’s will make your 9-5 Sportcombi more euro look.

Older 95 saabs has dailight fuse in fuse box, pull it off and your lights should work manualy without programming

Wondering if on the selection you chose. Will the parking light mode only have the side marker lights, smaller 192 lights inside the housings and the taillights work only. Currently I have fuse 35 removed so the lights are not on all the tine

Interesting. On my 9-3, I get occasional messages that my left reverse light is out. I checked and it isnt. I also get a message that my right headlight low beam was out. It was but it fixed itself. Very strange. As these Saabs are getting old now, they get even more quirky😊

Hi, I found a strange issue with my newly bought Saab 9-5. In position 0, I have my headlights; in position 1, no headlights, but I can activate the front and rear fog lights; in position 2, I have nothing at all. The high beams should be held at ever position and do not work if you are not holding it. Any ideas about what could it be?
Great. All these years I’ve been burning out bulbs because of this no off feature.
Problem now is finding someone with tech two to shut it off..

Is it legal for you to drive with the headlights turned off?
I have done a similar mod with my two 9-5 but in Sweden you have to have the fog lights on if you turn the headlights off. Even if it's in full daylight.
Olika lagar i Sverige. Tror inte han kan svara på det faktiskt 😅. I sverige får man enbart ha antingen dimljus eller halvljus inte båda två. Man får bara ha dimljusen på om det är ljust ute eller om det är dimma/kraftig nederbörd. På natten får man enbart ha halv/helljus. Om man ska använda dimljusen så får man bara ha varselljusen igång (mellanläget på omställaren). Rätt så säkert att det är såhär lagarna gäller.

Allt oftare ser man bilar utan bakljuset på vilket utgör trafikfara och enligt info på Transportstyrelsens hemsida är olagligt. När jag möter bilar utan framljuset på brukar jag 'ljustuta'.

Ooooor you can just remove the fuse marked "Daytime lights" and they are off in the 0-position. Done that on all my Saabs including my 9000 '88 :)

Interesting my UK 🇬🇧 spec RHD 2005 Aero wagon hs no daytime running lights (unlike my old 1999 2.0t).
I have another problem. Do you have any idea if the Xenon headlamps can be switched for driving in continental Europe with tech 2? I’ve imported the car to France where obviously I’ll be driving on the right hand side of the road… so I have to defeat the « kick up » of the lights on the left which risks dazzling oncoming traffic, in the Uk of course it light up the roadside and traffic signs. I really don’t want to have to spend €500+ a piece to get left hand drive light units.
I’m not sure what you mean by switch exactly. The switch itself can be programmed easily, yes

By « switched » I mean changed over from RHD to LHD configuration. Switched used like this must be an anglicisme which isn’t used in the US

Is that the only way to do it I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 convertible and my headlights will not turn off unless they actually turn the key off I hate this

The 80's Dude in Sweden it use to be illegal to drive without your lights on, even during the day, you ether had/have to have your low beams on or similarly powerful auxiliary lights (like the front fog lights for example) on during the day and low beams when it gets dark.
Then the EU came and F***ed everything up with the “DRL Law”, which more or less means that it is now legal to drive with your lights off as long as you have the “Day time Running Lights” on, which gets real interesting during the winter when we only have a few hours of sunshine and it is mostly dark, but the “intelligent” system of the modern cars with DRL are to dumb to realize it is dark and all the sudden you start to encounter cars without their rear lights on.. in the dark...
The old laws still apply to older cars that didn’t came factory fitted with DRL..

named after Dame Edna(who wears glasses that are covered in fake jewels), many people have compared it to the gaudy chrome trim around the headlights.

a tech2? you can't really "rent" them. just find someone on your local saab group who has one if you're not willing to spend the money on one!

Check the fuse diagram in the owners manual
it is a safety effort, ohter driver see you alot sooner, is your life only worth 40-200 / year,
make a video light off and light on with the sun low you will see the difference
i don't think lights in the middle of the day do much for other cars seeing you tbh
Yeah that's very cool but the main question why the hell it happened And why the hell this uber sweedish car does not have auto headlight switch. In EU countries you must drive all the time with headlights on. BMW 2003 e46 already has.
