I gained 4 stones in a few months and can't shift it. Feel highly uncomfortable and look terrible. I look pregnant or like a massive beer belly. You're the only person who has ever explained things to me. You've made so much sense. Stress/ anxiety has been a huge factor. Even stressed looking in the mirror at myself. I've never snacked between meals and lately I'm constantly hungry. Thank you for the advice. I'm on it. X
Great video! You have explained just about everything in a simple to the point manner. I've watched maybe a hundred videos and read a few books and they didn't give me half of all that useful info that you just did! Thanks again!

Its so hard to figure out sometimes. I got remarried at 45, moved far away from friends and family and had a hard time coping with all the changes as it was. Life is an adventure. Glad to have you here to guide the way!
Weight training is so important to help prevent fat gain, I'm 46 and for the first time in my adult live my weight is sable and I am happy with my figure, going plant based as well has helped with this also. Great video, except for labelling all carbs as bad, whole grains help and are healthy, avoid refined carbs definitely. I love to do at least 15 mins of yoga everyday at home, following UA-cam yoga, this helps keep me calm and focused, as well as the physical benefits yoga. Sometimes I use the guided mediations too, when I get stressed.
Hi Vickie, thank you for your feedback. I totally agree, unfortunately for many people the focus is on the wrong type of carbs and reducing refined options can often be a good start point for many of us, whilst of course, not forgetting to include some good quality wholegrains. Thank you for the tips on yoga too which can be a great tool for helping to relax our minds!
Excellent tips! I would add that sleep is so important at this stage. At 46 I now need to go to bed an extra hour earlier to make up for the lost sleep from middle of the night hot flashes along with a quick bathroom break. This means I have to give up some time with extra hobbies in life which is difficult but it’s either keeping those hobbies or my health suffers.
You're right Deborah, poor sleep can impact on so many menopause symptoms so it is really important to get enough. Some women do find, though, that once through the menopause their sleep improves and they then need less, so this may just be a phase for you. Best Wishes Eileen

That’s so true. I’ve just come across your channel and I’m so glad I did. 4 years ago I started putting on weight, it seemed every other day I had put on an extra kilo...14 kilos all up, to be exact. I would walk 7-16 kilometres everyday (depending on my day) and the weight remained the same. It was so depressing. This year, I started eating vegetarian, not strictly, but mostly, and generally feel so much better. I still have my occasional fried food (meat & fish), feta cheese and goats milk in my coffee (can’t give that up yet, but have it down to 2 cups a day max). Although I’m working on eliminating all dairy as I’m told dairy is a real problem with the hot flushes and insomnia. I do relax and take out time for myself everyday. All my blood tests are 10/10 (my Doctors exact words). And the weight is practically melting off. Without really doing any exercise, apart from a short 20-40 minute walk a few times a week. I’m so surprised and very thankful, I’ve lost 6kilos without really trying. However I do suffer from the hot flushes 24/7 and have insomnia, which started 3-4 months ago and couldn’t work out why. I’ve always fallen asleep straight away in the past. I’m a bit moody but snap out of it straightaway. I’ve decided to go on Premisil as of tomorrow, as it’s a natural herb to combat these symptoms. See how I go. Thankyou for your advice and video. You’ve helped me understand what’s going on with my body and mind. It all makes sense to me now. I’m definitely subscribing, to learn more. Many blessings to you.
I have a physical job. Made me worse. I have high cortisol & adrinal fatigue. Running up & down 3 flights of stairs in my job made me gain more weight.
Be careful not to take him for granted. Be kind. Just because you are going through menopause, it doesn't mean you get a green light to show contempt (type of thing) towards your husband. Get it sorted. You CAN be happy again but you have to want to. You are still a partner. Just something to think about. Good luck.
I saw your videos so recently. I love watching them as im in early menopause now. Your videos as re so informative. I gained so much without knowing. My stomach and legs are getting fat too. Thanks so much for your videos.
Moringa powder is great for PMS and menopause. It is packed with minerals such as iron and zinc and potassium. Moringa powder is great for weight loss and diabetes. Moringa powder can be found in local health food stores.
I buy the all natural doritos, no flavour and no chemicals - at first I think Im getting a treat but I can only eat 10 and they start to taste like cardboard - so instead of eating a big bag full in 2 hours it will last me all week and do no harm. All those chemical flavours are designed to make you crave more and the more you have the worse you feel.
Back in the day when we had to run from tigers, we didn’t have grocery stores, running water, electricity, clothing stores, refrigerators, stoves, cars, microwaves or washers/dryers. You really think life was less stressful back then than it is now?
We didn't worry about grocery prices, bills, replacing that refrigerator, a new car, working, raising our kids without help, etc. Different stress. Our stress now is constant.
Be careful with the magnesium, it can cause diarrhea😰 Try yoga and meditation for stress relief. Remember me time, you cannot pour from an empty cup😁 Some useful information in this vlog, but it doesn't appear to be helping me, my belly keeps growing😒 in my twenties I was underweight, now ,I seem to have the opposite problem😢
Hi Helen Thanks for the tips, all really important! There is a good book on belly fat and how you can help yourself by Dr Marilyn Glenville; you can get this on Amazon
56 and still FSH 8 and estrogen 70pmol. Painfull ovulations irregular, no uterus. Once in a while i feel it coming>muscle pain hip buttock etc. Very painfull and then its gone after 7-10 days. Somekind of concentration gets higher in the body/blood is causing this, cortisol/progesteron etc. Im looking forward to post-menopause. 100% menobelly. Not happy most of the time. Average age for last period 51??? Well without uterus i am a bit late.:-) I will check FSH again july/aug.
Hi Francis The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so you are only just outside the normal range. We do know that there are a small number of women who start the menopause in their later 50s. Best Wishes Eileen
What’s the best? magnesium citrate or magnesium with vitamin B to take? I have Hashimoto and I’m in menopause and have high cholesterol, painful joints also osteopenia. Lately I’ve started swimming. Can you please suggest.
With Hashimoto's it's best to get advice from a practitioner who is overseeing your entire case. You obviously have a lot going on and a dedicated practitioner would be best placed to give you a comprehensive programme and monitor you through it.
Hi I just started to watch your channel and love it. My question is do u have a link of all the supplements u can use during menopause and what they are for? How can I get the balance mineral drink ? I am in the USA, thank you

Eat walnuts they're good for your brain your mood in your heart peanuts heaven Amal detoxing and that will make you gain weight because of the toxins that produces and its makes your body swell and you'll become leptin resistant. This learned studying disease
Are there any foods or supplements one can take to help increase progesterone levels during menopause ? If the progesterone level is increased, won't it help to combat the increased cortisol level ?
Hi Alexa Yam seems to be quoted as a 'progesterone' food but I am not sure how helpful it may be. It is said that eating a good varied diet contain plenty of fresh foods can help the body to produce progesterone naturally but this can be hindered by adrenal stress. High cortisol can affect oestrogen and progesterone production so anything you can do to calm and support the nervous system can often be of benefit. Best Wishes Eileen
thank you so much for your video... I took notes and I'm making changes unfortunately menopause is what is going on and I'm going to make the changes and let you know I subscribed to your channel and love how you explain things thank you for your help Lisa
Glad you enjoy them, thanks! Although there is now lots of research on intermittent fasting I am wary of recommending it in the menopause. We do know that blood sugar regulation can go awry at this time and any big surges or dips can trigger adrenaline or histamine. These in turn can often cause or make worse the usual symptoms. Also, at this time the adrenals can often be in flight or fight mode practically constantly and if the body feels lack of food this can switch on ‘famine mode’ which results in a slowing down of the metabolism. However, probably, once a week for most women shouldn’t be an issue as long as you don’t exercise hard on these days. I guess it is a case of trying to see how you get on. If symptoms get worse on the fasting days then you will know that your body is not happy!
Berries, seeds amd nuts and porridge helps me. No junk foods, lollies or fatty anything every day. Lots of water and definitely meditation. High intensity training must only be used by someone already used to exercising or serious problems will happen, it will shock the system too much.
Hi Unfortunately, we can't comment on how effective HRT patches may be with weight gain, sorry. Your doctor or pharmacist should have all the technical details from the manufacturer and they should be able to tell you if it would be suitable for your specific circumstances. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi is safe to take estrosense hormone balance. I quit smoking a 11/2 year ago and gained 50 bl, I did got my calories to 1400 a day and can't loose weight, I'm and doing some of dr Bri exercises but I look 5 months pregnant.
Hi Mary You would need to ask your doctor this question as they need to take your age, symptoms and general health into account before deciding if it's appropriate for you. Maybe also ask them to check your thyroid function as poor thyroid function can often appear in the menopause and this can cause weight gain and also make it very difficult to lose. Best Wishes Eileen
I am 8.7 stone and very petite . Have not had a period for over a year now so I am in menopause. My hot flushes and night sweats are a real pain and so is my sleep which used to be a full 8 hrs and now it’s 5 hrs on and off . So I can just deal with that but my real problem is that menopausal muffin! I am now an apple shape and because I am small it’s looks ridiculous and it’s hard to find tops that look good. I know some of you ladies out there are probably scoffing at my 8.7 stone but seriously I look stupid with a huge big gut and then thin arms and legs. So a week ago I decided to do something about it and have taken myself off sugar and limit my carbs. That is no bread or pasta and limited amount of carbs. I try to keep down to 100 carbs a day. It’s been a week and my stomach has become much more flat, so instead of pinching a big handful of flab, it is now a couple of inches. Seriously whether this will last I don’t know , but I will update in a few weeks. Also make sure you are not constipated and keep things flowing I don’t want to do the full keto diet but I am sure that cutting down on your sugar and carbs will help to get the belly fat under control . Once your body gets low on carbs for energy it will break down the fat stores and this is how you lose weight. Just to say that it is not easy to stay low carb , but I am sure it is good for my health . Good luck ladies xx
That's a brilliant result Anna and thank you for the encouragement. I do find that a basic low carb diet can work really well, I'm not a big fan of the Keto as it can be really hard to stick to for some of us! Best Wishes Eileen
Feeling tired or sore after exercise often indicates that too much has been done so maybe try doing it for a shorter time and make sure that you have a rest day regularly. I would normally recommend cardio exercise of some kind 3 times a week and on the rest days do gentle yoga or go for a walk. You may also find having a small snack about an hour before exercise can help, fatigue can often be caused by a sudden drop in blood sugar levels and make sure that you are drinking plenty of water as you exercise to avoid dehydration as that will cause fatigue too and hinder muscle recovery. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi It does seem to help some women but blood sugar control can become very unstable at this time. Leaving huge gaps between meals can cause a major dip and this can trigger severe sugar cravings, headaches, binge eating or even weight gain. If you wish to try it, I would suggest doing this for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. If you feel energetic and you don't feel hungry and in need of sugary foods then it should be fine to continue. If, however, you feel tired, crave sweet/carb foods, binge eat or gain weight then it is advisable to stop. Best Wishes Eileen
I actually stopped going to any doctors. Since I am in UK 90% of the GPs are searching in their screens on Internet for any, I repeat , for ANYTHING so they can answer your questions. I am still in shock - I can also search like that in the comfort of my own home. Most of the GPs I have been they do exact;y that - searching on Internet. This is soo wrong. I wonder if any of them have been in a proper Medical university,.. For my menopause they put me straight to HRT without any questions. Only 2 months on HRT and I gained 10 kg my breast was ready to explode. One of my GPs also told me to cut carbs and etc. Well I am not so crazy to do it. I am also vegetarians and our body need carbs, all the rest is absolutely crap ! All those diets are soo wrong. Since I cut HRT and continue feeding my with loads of veggies and fruits I’ve lost those 10 kgs. From the HRT . And I train hard at home - no more gym . I use both kettlebells and dumbbells,. Still have hot flushes from time to time but I consume “the golden paste” from turmeric so I am ok for now.
Hi Jamie C...your Dr. is not going to tell you anything to get you healthy . Check out Dr. Berg's videos too. I watch A. Vogel, Dr. Berg, Dr. Eckberg, Dr. Mandell an Bob and Brad.
I tried the hormone I've tried the hormone medication through my doctor but couldn't continue with because it cause it other problems so I had to stop it so I'm trying to look at the videos and adjust my diet cuz I am a snacker I love I love snacks I love food. Been trying to get my weight down cuz the back my back hurt from the weight in the stomach area my knees hurt my body hurt.
Please can you explain why the left breast is bigger than the right breast during menopause, does it have something to do with menopause? I have my head beat in my head, it is just like heartbeat but this time I am having it beat in my head & I cannot get to slaap. I cannot get into the deepest stage of slaap. If I even get some slaap I go to slaap with headbeats & I wake up with headbeats.
Hi Meo Breast size, shape and density often change during the menopause and some women do find that one breast can be a slightly different shape to the other, however, it is important to get any breast changes checked out by your doctor as well. Headbeats could be caused by a number of issues such as stress, high blood pressure, dehydration or even too much coffee or fizzy drinks. Again, this should be checked by your doctor for a proper diagnosis first. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Beth You could try the Dormeasan; this is specifically for sleep and usually works quite quickly. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/valerian-hops-dormeasan/
Hi Rukhsana If the weigh gain appeared after starting the HRT it is important to let your doctor know just in case it is a side effect. Otherwise, I hope the tips in the video will be of help for you.
A.Vogel UK thankyou , for your reply, the weight gain is because of the hrt, Iv told my gp, who advised to come off hrt , but omg my menopausal symptoms were unbearable so I had to go back on hrt but now I’m on the 50mg. Weight is still increasing, I’m extremely depressed 😢
I gained weight after menopause my stomach it hard big and round I stay stressed out im not big anywhere else I can't stand it I diet all the time and still can't loose I hate sweets and pastries so my body has turned on me ughh
Because of the dryness and vagina atrophy of being menapausel for almost 4 years I’ve become very depressed and withdrawn hopeless that I never have a healthy intimate relationship again.
Hi Patricia I don't recommend slimming pills at all. In the menopause they can really upset your metabolism and may even make things worse! A low carb diet seems to work well for most women so worth looking into. Best Wishes Eileen
I’m always hoping I’ll hear something that will work. I do all of this. I’m thin and toned with a blob of mush on my stomach. Probably about 7lbs. I’m very petite with small hips so it looks bad🤬
Oh what us women go through!!!!!😑 first we have to get periods. Then we have to go through menopause and if that's not bad enough we get menopause belly fat!!!!!😑 I've tried everything to get my belly flat .but the fat always comes back. I hate getting older 😫!!!!!! I miss my 💓 youth and I hate having breast cancer!!!!!😑 I found out that I had cancer when my period stopped 😭...... Now what????????
Rhonda I'm sorry to learn about your current health situation. Best wishes to you. I came across a great Herbalist who informed me about moringa powder and seeds and teas. Moringa powder is all natural and packed with minerals such as iron and zinc and potassium. It can be found in local health food stores across the country. It helps with menopause and weight gain. Most diseases are caused by lack of minerals present in the body. Fill your body up with minerals Minerals are the key to good health.
Stop snacking !!!!! It’s big problem for people who want to loose extra weight. It’s does not matter if snacks are healthy. Liver needs a rest and as long as you can stretch your time not snacking between the meals you will have success. Also, salt isn’t bad and should not be compared with sugar. In fact iodine is salt and taking with borage oil will help a lot during menopause
Hang on a minute.... she says don’t cut calories, then next sentence is ‘cut out carbs’. She says gentle exercise is best, not intense...then recommends HIIT. I used to respect this lady, but she is seriously contradicting herself and implying you can fool and trick your body. Best advice is to just listen to your body.
Hi Mary Although not very common, I have heard of this, very often is is just due to the way your hormone levels are fluctuating but if you are worried then please do speak to your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen
Avena calm & pasaflora? @ 13:34. Passionflower and lemon balm are calming and the lemon balm helps fight Epstein-Barr antiviral and that slows metabolism way down

Kon Stance hi there. I am in this predicament too..does Premisil have good effect on you?

I've not been happy at all since premenopause.... Not happy with my body, with my husband...
Thank God for his good points and it will help you not to think about his faults
Be careful not to take him for granted. Be kind. Just because you are going through menopause, it doesn't mean you get a green light to show contempt (type of thing) towards your husband. Get it sorted. You CAN be happy again but you have to want to. You are still a partner. Just something to think about. Good luck.
Every little thing feels like the last straw that’s going to push me over the edge, and it does, lol.

Eating Doritos n crying at the screen
I hear ya sweetie
Aww I hear ya I did earlier

Every generation has it's own stressors in the context of the age of which they live.
Be careful with the magnesium, it can cause diarrhea😰
Try yoga and meditation for stress relief. Remember me time, you cannot pour from an empty cup😁
Some useful information in this vlog, but it doesn't appear to be helping me, my belly keeps growing😒 in my twenties I was underweight, now ,I seem to have the opposite problem😢

Average age for last period 51??? Well without uterus i am a bit late.:-) I will check FSH again july/aug.
Hi Francis
The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so you are only just outside the normal range. We do know that there are a small number of women who start the menopause in their later 50s.

I am in the USA, thank you
What do you do when your not able to eat peanuts?
I've been checked for diabetes and for thyroid then there was nothing found abnormal.
But I do have a mid section big stomach issue. I'm 5ft 5 inches. I'm age 50. I've been in menopause stage only for 1 year. But it's been very difficult it seems as if I've had every bad
Eat walnuts they're good for your brain your mood in your heart peanuts heaven Amal detoxing and that will make you gain weight because of the toxins that produces and its makes your body swell and you'll become leptin resistant. This learned studying disease
You still need to cut down on food because your body does not need as much food because you are no longer fertile.
Are there any foods or supplements one can take to help increase progesterone levels during menopause ? If the progesterone level is increased, won't it help to combat the increased cortisol level ?
Hi Alexa
Yam seems to be quoted as a 'progesterone' food but I am not sure how helpful it may be. It is said that eating a good varied diet contain plenty of fresh foods can help the body to produce progesterone naturally but this can be hindered by adrenal stress. High cortisol can affect oestrogen and progesterone production so anything you can do to calm and support the nervous system can often be of benefit.

Thank you so much for all of your wonderful advice and videos. How do you feel about intermittent fasting?
Thank you for this information 🙏🙏🙏
My pleasure
very important information
Thanks Julie!
Berries, seeds amd nuts and porridge helps me. No junk foods, lollies or fatty anything every day. Lots of water and definitely meditation. High intensity training must only be used by someone already used to exercising or serious problems will happen, it will shock the system too much.
Thanks again for your helpful advice

What's ur view on HRT patches do they help with d weight gain during menopause
Hi
Unfortunately, we can't comment on how effective HRT patches may be with weight gain, sorry. Your doctor or pharmacist should have all the technical details from the manufacturer and they should be able to tell you if it would be suitable for your specific circumstances.

Hi Mary
You would need to ask your doctor this question as they need to take your age, symptoms and general health into account before deciding if it's appropriate for you.
Maybe also ask them to check your thyroid function as poor thyroid function can often appear in the menopause and this can cause weight gain and also make it very difficult to lose.

Also make sure you are not constipated and keep things flowing
I don’t want to do the full keto diet but I am sure that cutting down on your sugar and carbs will help to get the belly fat under control .

Hate to say it but I've tried all of this and it doesn't work to get rid of belly fat.
I feel tired after doing exercise my body pain a lot how much exercise should we do in a week

@@AvogelCoUk thank you so much weight training how much in a week

Is Intermittent Fasting benificial for women who have reached menopause?
Hi
It does seem to help some women but blood sugar control can become very unstable at this time.

I love what you are saying but my doctor does not want me on a high protein diet. I eat carbs and I exercise.
Can u recommend a high protein diet ?

Please can you explain why the left breast is bigger than the right breast during menopause, does it have something to do with menopause? I have my head beat in my head, it is just like heartbeat but this time I am having it beat in my head & I cannot get to slaap. I cannot get into the deepest stage of slaap. If I even get some slaap I go to slaap with headbeats & I wake up with headbeats.
Hi Meo
Breast size, shape and density often change during the menopause and some women do find that one breast can be a slightly different shape to the other, however, it is important to get any breast changes checked out by your doctor as well.
Headbeats could be caused by a number of issues such as stress, high blood pressure, dehydration or even too much coffee or fizzy drinks. Again, this should be checked by your doctor for a proper diagnosis first.

Hi Rukhsana
If the weigh gain appeared after starting the HRT it is important to let your doctor know just in case it is a side effect.
Hi Rukhsana
Have you asked your doctor if you could try another type of HRT that doesn't have weight gain as a side effect?

I don't recommend slimming pills at all. In the menopause they can really upset your metabolism and may even make things worse! A low carb diet seems to work well for most women so worth looking into.

Thank you so much💜🌸
I am 53 having periods once a year with weight gain. Is this normal? I am kinda worried.
