I noticed I started craving eggs, avacado, and dark chocolate before learning about their benefits, especially as it relates to perimenopause. Funny how our bodies tell us what we need! God designed our bodies amazingly!
Thank you soooo much. You have changed my life!!!! I was feeling all these symptoms, I went to my GP and all the tests came back normal (thank God) . I felt like a hypochondriac until I watched your channel . So again thank you ☘️☘️☘️
I am so glad my mother told me about this channel. I am in menopause and I have fibromyalgia so I am a hot mess! There is so much good information on this channel. I feel hopeful I will get some help. Thank you Eileen!
This is a great video. I just transitioned over to post-menopause a month ago and the past year I have been suffering with extreme symptoms. Joint pain has been going on for months. I've for the most part been on a lowfat plant based diet. Just the past few weeks I have added 1/4-1/2 cup of flaxseeds and 1-2 avocadoes a day to my diet. I thought it was an extreme amount of fat, but my joints are feeling better, I feel really good and I've lost a few pounds and maintaining with all this fat. I've limited my fruit and eat tons of greens. This will be my diet until further notice.
Thanks docter watching you from zanzibar I learn alot from you, my friend is 47yr she show me your site and everyday we swimm and do exercise drink much water docter thanks alot for every lesson you put here making a woman not feel lonely in this privacy issue especial here in Africa many woman after this menopause the so lonely they need people like you to tell them they still have life after this and they can be happy like before..god bless you docter
I am new here . I have watched a few of your videos now. You have very good information. I have been getting information on menopause and you are so right.
I am 51 and I'm going through menapause, my period still come monthly, but I want it to stop....sometimes I get very fussy ,but thank God I'm not doing bad....
Hi i like your video's very very much &how you explane for menopauze i am 64 in march just a few days now & i start getting problem with my periode, thank you very very much nice of you.
Dr. Berg recommends VALENCIA peanut butter - which I got at Trader Joe's. I made small peanut butter cacao (real chocolate) bombs with natural sweetener with a tiny ice cube tray and I keep them in the freezer. That's how I get my high fat, nut and chocolate with using a non-stevia sweetener because stevia can be icky with chocolate.
I make muesli with plain kefir and add seeds and nuts and maca powder. I have a shelf of jars of different ones so I can be creative, I may add berries. I have to add some honey because the kefir is plain, maybe that's not ideal, but I think honey may have helpful properties in moderation. I keep it at work with me so I can eat a little at a time between clients.
That's a fabulous idea Desiree; all good foods and a little honey is fine, we do need some sweetness in our lives every day! If you use raw honey (not heat treated) it is full of enzymes and other goodies. Best Wishes Eileen

Ok so this is balanced diet is challenging Eileen. How about a rice pudding pot a day ? Love my avocados been eating as a fruit as a child a pear and couple times a week I can easily demolish ? What about mackerel and sardines in tins? I'm really bad with sugary snacks this has gone through the roof since becoming premenopausal. I do want to eat better for my daughter and I to hear healthy. Thanks Eileen any books you can recommend simply straightforward guide to eating well x
Hi Laney A rice pudding pot may be disastrous for your blood sugar control; it contains lots of sugar and easily absorbed carbs which can turn to fat quickly! The other foods you mention are fine as part of your daily diet. Check that you’re getting enough magnesium and if the sugar cravings are really out of control then a Chromium supplement may be a good idea. One of my favourite books is the Power of Three by Dale Pinnock, super easy, healthy recipes and an explanation of what’s good for you - you can get this from Amazon.
I’m a high carb whole food vegan and am hormonally sensitive. I thought eggs were heavy in estrodiol? I avoid sugar, simple carbs, caffeine, alcohol and fat as my dad had a heart attack at 42 from high cholesterol and my mum lacked lipase. I do take flaxseed oil though and have not had issues yet (I’m 48) maybe I’ll increase my dk choc intake if it has stevia 😉
Can’t get enough watching and learning of your great videos, they help me a lot - thanks a million ❤️❤️ My another question, please : For breakfast I like to eat organic oats and on the top I put organic local made artisan pure butter (aprox 10 gr), is that good or bad? I am pescatarian, so I dont eat any meat. I eat 2 eggs once in a week, when it comes to dairy products - I love to eat only cheeses (not too much). So please some info about the butter 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️ Thanks in advance
Hi E It is known that a small amount of saturated fats are important to help produce hormones but I have never heard of this on oats. All I can suggest is that if you find it beneficial and high cholesterol is not an issue with you, then I can't see any reason why you can't continue with this. Great to hear that you enjoy the videos, thank you! Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Ori Low levels of magnesium can cause migraines, affect blood pressure and possibly contribute to flushes so I would suggest as a magnesium supplement, approx 200mg twice a day. Hi I have a fibroid 8cm and growing with menopause at 68, I was told to stop my HRT that I had been on over 20yrs for osteoporosis. I have had a blood test CA 125 which came back normal but can't understand why I am now having incontinence also to put up with is there any advise you can offer please.
To be honest, I don't believe the saturated fats are bad hypothesis, because the healthiest I ever felt was when I was consuming a lot of red meat. My hair got thicker and glossier, my acne cleared up, my digestion improved, the bloating that I experienced my whole life pretty much actually went away and so did the acid reflux! I had a blood test done and my lipid profile had improved too! My LDL cholesterol was suprisingly low along with my triglycerides, and my HDL was high. I stopped eating red meat when I feared that it was that that triggered my premature menopause onset! But it wasn't that, and the only time I notice an improvement in some of my menopausal symptoms is when I've consumed a high fat meal believe it or not. Before christmas, I was having hot flushes ALL DAY, but over the christmas period up until new year, the hot flushes were much less frequent and I know it's because I consumed a lot of fat during that time! Fat increases estrogen levels in the body, so I guess that's why we should be consuming more of it in menopause. I really don't believe that saturated fat is bad because of my personal experience with it. Trans fat however is definitely bad because it's unnatural!
You're right Louise, we need small amounts of saturated fats for lots of different things and more and more research is coming out in it's favour but definitely avoid the trans fats! Best Wishes Eileen
Hi I am on cholesterol medicine atorvastatin 10mg can I still eat those seeds u mentioned in video chia sunflower pumpkin sesame flax seeds because I am vegan please let me know thanks
What do you think of a plant based diet? I notice you say don’t eat high carb and a plant based diet has beans, sweet potatoes, etc. so though it has some protein it is mainly a carb. Thoughts on no meat/dairy diet?
Hi Lil I tend to recommend a low carb diet as most women do respond well on it. However, we are all individuals and I know this doesn’t suit everyone. If you feel great on a plan based diet with pulses etc then do stay on it. If you haven’t tried it but fancy following it for a month then go for it. I have found that you can quickly feel bad on the wrong diet so if whatever diet you try doesn’t make you feel good, energised and satisfied then it is best to stop it.
Hi Rachel HRT can be really helpful for some women who are struggling through the menopause, however, HRT doesn’t stop the menopause; it only puts it on hold. Some women find that when it is time to stop taking the HRT their menopause symptoms return and it can be quite a struggle for them further down the line. Our view is that if you can cope with the menopause then it is better in the long run to try and go through it naturally. There are many things you can do health-wise to look after yourself well at this time.
Provera and premarin might cause bone loss and cancer in future. You can have bio identical hormones made by compounded pharmacy.Holistic Dr have to prescribe for you. I took BREVAIL bought from natural grocery store for 3 years. I had no hot fladh, no depression. I was happy. BREVAIL has lingans from flaxseeds. There are many herbs that can help menopause. You do not need HRT.
I am on anti depressants, which ive been on for years. Im 57 had a hysterectomy 1 year ago, had a fibroid. My doctor is changing my meds to cope with my depression and anxiety, but alot of my symtoms sound menopausal, I havent been through menopause yet Im wondering if im getting treated for wrong thing? My mother had hysterectomy in her late 30s and I dont have sisters so I cant get advice from other siblings.
Hi Denise Were your ovaries removed in the operation? If so, then this would throw you straight into the menopause very quickly which could affect your depression and anxiety. If not, then you would normally have the menopause at roughly the same time you would have done had you not had the operation. At 57 it is more than likely you are in the peri-menopause, at least, which again, could affect your symptoms adversely. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Nandini Prolonged periods are quite common on the approach to the menopause but can cause low iron so if this one doesn’t look like it is going to stop then it is best to see your doctor. They may be able to give you something to stop the bleeding.
Hi, Unfortunately, there are no easy ways to increase progesterone naturally, it is in very few foods - wild yam being one although it’s debatable if it is of any benefit.
Hemp seeds has progesterone. Adrenal glands still produce progesterone even after hysterectomy or menopause. So strengthen your kidneys, your adrenal glands with vit C, herbs, supplements, then you will have enough progesterone.
Hi Nazanin It really depends on what symptoms you are getting but, generally, avoid, processed foods, high salt and sugar foods, wheat and dairy based foods and caffeine. Hello Ellen, the problem am having now is my stomach has become so sensitive that flaxseed and all that fiber from wheat gets me so sick . Surprisingly white bread tend to be ok for me. Any tip of good fiber? This is a very dangerous transition 😃
Hi Molly I have worked in the Natural Health Industry for nearly 30 years and with A Vogel for 23 years. During my time with A Vogel I have focused on the menopause as, even back then, we had queries from many women who couldn't find any information to help them. I have followed research and natural treatments even before the menopause was a 'topic' Interestingly, even now there are practically no specific qualifications available on this subject. Also, more importantly, I have been through the menopause and have first hand experience on both the physical and emotional aspects in this phase of a woman's life.
Hi, try not to skip meals as this can mean the body goes into starvation mode and holds on to fats. Check this weblink for more tips. www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/whats-the-best-diet-for-the-menopause/
Eat lot of steamed green leafy vegetables for dinner or before bed. No salad. No raw vegetables because hard to digest. The steamed veg like broccoli, collard green will keep the blood sugar steady at night, help you feel relaxed, sleep well. Especially help you have bowel movement many times and so, help you lose weight. Do not eat too much carb like sugar, pasta, bread ,etc..
Hi Magda If you are grinding nuts and seeds it is best to do this daily when you need them. Even kept in the fridge these can go rancid quickly and you would end up losing any benefit.
If flushes come back after a number of years without periods, this is often caused by other health issues. Stress/anxiety, overactive thyroid, vitamin D or B12 deficiency, diabetes and heart disease can all cause flushes and sweats. It is wise just to get this checked by your doctor to rule the above out. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi there I just watched ur videos about peri menopause I m 43 and I m having irregular periods doctor told me about peri menopause because I m having hot flashes please suggest me any remedy to get rid of hot flashes can’t sleep properly please kind regards
Hi Shiv You could try the herb Sage as this is known to help with hot flushes and night sweats. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/sage-tablets-menoforce/ Best Wishes Eileen
Thanks for reply ... I just want to know that is sage medicine safe for long term use because black cohosh is herbal as well but it’s long use leads to breast cancer... so I just want to clear that concept about sage medicine please help me out thanks. Regards
Hi Shiv Our sage tablets are licensed and there is no indication of any hormonal action. If this were the case then there would be a warning on the product advising not to use long-term.
@@kimmsai3498 i heard black cohosh is not advisable for long term use. I think that we need to take all herbs in moderation, not for long term use. Keep switching food and herbs around.
Hi Kashh As far as I am aware there are no contraindications taking healthy fats will affect the Pill but if youa re worries then please do double check with your pharmacist. Best Wishes Eileen
Hi Helena Yes, it is confusing! Meat containing saturated fats from animals that are grass fed are of a different composition to fats from animals fed on grain or kept indoors and are considered healthier. But, this kind of meat is usually more difficult to find and is more expensive. It's all about eating them in moderation. Best Wishes Eileen
Listen to your body. I ate grassfed beef and i choked at night during sleep because of toxin in the meat got to my throat! As for pasture raised eggs, they cause me stomach cramps. As for organic beef, organic chickens, they smell because they are transported for many dsys in trucks or airlpane from other states or countries. No more fresh. I eat veverything local. No not waste money on grassfed meat.
Hi Sharon Our nutritional needs go sky high at this point so your body's obviously telling you what it needs! Just watch that you don't eat too much peanut butter as it is high fat and make sure it doesn't contain any sugar. Best Wishes Eileen

Eileen, Does tinned salmon also go through the same process? Thanks 🌺
Hi Petta
Tinned salmon is OK for natural oils so is fine to add to your diet if you can't get fresh.

Does it make a difference if my eggs are pasture-raised
Yes, that's fine! 😊
What do you think of a plant based diet? I notice you say don’t eat high carb and a plant based diet has beans, sweet potatoes, etc. so though it has some protein it is mainly a carb. Thoughts on no meat/dairy diet?
Hi Lil
I tend to recommend a low carb diet as most women do respond well on it.
Lil Fu yes a vegan diet is the best especially for menopause!!!!!!

Do you think important to have HRT when we are premenopausal and menopause?
Hi Rachel
HRT can be really helpful for some women who are struggling through the menopause, however, HRT doesn’t stop the menopause; it only puts it on hold.
Do you recommend Dhea
for help with hormones?
I am on anti depressants, which ive been on for years.
Im 57 had a hysterectomy 1 year ago, had a fibroid.
My doctor is changing my meds to cope with my depression and anxiety, but alot of my symtoms sound menopausal, I havent been through menopause yet
Im wondering if im getting treated for wrong thing?
My mother had hysterectomy in her late 30s and I dont have sisters so I cant get advice from other siblings.
Hi Denise
Were your ovaries removed in the operation? If so, then this would throw you straight into the menopause very quickly which could affect your depression and anxiety. If not, then you would normally have the menopause at roughly the same time you would have done had you not had the operation. At 57 it is more than likely you are in the peri-menopause, at least, which again, could affect your symptoms adversely.

Hi Nandini
Prolonged periods are quite common on the approach to the menopause but can cause low iron so if this one doesn’t look like it is going to stop then it is best to see your doctor. They may be able to give you something to stop the bleeding.

this is wonderful, thank you....how can we increase our progesterone intake naturally
I have IBS too, so what should I eat
Hi Nazanin
It really depends on what symptoms you are getting but, generally, avoid, processed foods, high salt and sugar foods, wheat and dairy based foods and caffeine. You may find this link helpful too www.avogel.co.uk/health/digestive-system/questions-and-answers/are-there-herbal-remedies-to-help-ibs/

Hello Ellen, the problem am having now is my stomach has become so sensitive that flaxseed and all that fiber from wheat gets me so sick . Surprisingly white bread tend to be ok for me. Any tip of good fiber?
This is a very dangerous transition 😃
Hi
Some people find that quinoa and millet are better tolerated, so why not try these and see if you get on better with them.
Oh this is a good one I am the same but I see some changes when I cut back bread it doesn’t matter whole grain or white try it.
What is your background are you qualified to give advice on a women's body I love listening to you so I am just curious ...
Hi Molly
I have worked in the Natural Health Industry for nearly 30 years and with A Vogel for 23 years. During my time with A Vogel I have focused on the menopause as, even back then, we had queries from many women who couldn't find any information to help them. I have followed research and natural treatments even before the menopause was a 'topic'
Interestingly, even now there are practically no specific qualifications available on this subject. Also, more importantly, I have been through the menopause and have first hand experience on both the physical and emotional aspects in this phase of a woman's life.
My Dr. Recommends Medeterranian diet. I love it but just do not lose weight. I have been skipping dinner and trying to see if it will help.
Do not eat too much carb like sugar, pasta, bread ,etc..
can do grinder the almonds and walnuts the keep from fridge use eat 6 days cause some poeple has broken their teeth can't chew the nuts.
Hi Magda
If you are grinding nuts and seeds it is best to do this daily when you need them. Even kept in the fridge these can go rancid quickly and you would end up losing any benefit.
Has anyone else got the HUGE subtitles?
Not everyone is blessed with hearing...
if you tell me i can dip me choc in some nut butter? i might be able to do this! hahahah love ya. ty for the help
Hi Dawn
That may be a bit too sweet! :) However, I think you can get chocolate flavour peanut butter?

Can the hit frash come back after 60yrs
If flushes come back after a number of years without periods, this is often caused by other health issues. Stress/anxiety, overactive thyroid, vitamin D or B12 deficiency, diabetes and heart disease can all cause flushes and sweats. It is wise just to get this checked by your doctor to rule the above out.

Thanks for reply ... I just want to know that is sage medicine safe for long term use because black cohosh is herbal as well but it’s long use leads to breast cancer... so I just want to clear that concept about sage medicine please help me out thanks. Regards
Hi Shiv
Our sage tablets are licensed and there is no indication of any hormonal action. If this were the case then there would be a warning on the product advising not to use long-term.
@@kimmsai3498 i heard black cohosh is not advisable for long term use. I think that we need to take all herbs in moderation, not for long term use. Keep switching food and herbs around.
What are your hot flashes like? I have heat intolerance but ppl keep tying those together. Just wanted to know

There is new research that saturated meat fats are not bad for us at all. Confused now
Hi Helena
Yes, it is confusing! Meat containing saturated fats from animals that are grass fed are of a different composition to fats from animals fed on grain or kept indoors and are considered healthier. But, this kind of meat is usually more difficult to find and is more expensive. It's all about eating them in moderation.

Saturated fat is bad. Do not trust researchers. Some are paid to speak lies. Listen to your body.
Thu Le do some research yourself you are wrong
🙏Thank you 🙏🙃❤️
You're welcome :)
I am really craving eggs an peanut butter i am eating eggs every day an i never eat much egg
Hi Sharon
Our nutritional needs go sky high at this point so your body's obviously telling you what it needs! Just watch that you don't eat too much peanut butter as it is high fat and make sure it doesn't contain any sugar.

Eggs are bad for you.
No , not at all
It depends. If you eat fried eggs, bad. If you eat boiled whole eggs, good. The yolk should be kept intact when cooked.
@@ThuLe-eh1xe I hate fried eggs and always have. I love them boiled and love to make them with quiche.
