This is probably one of my favorite "done in 10" videos only because he was having such a good time while making this tart. It was enjoyable to watch him happy and light on his feet versus rush rush rush. My favorite part of this video, was when he was watching the tart in the oven, opened the oven door, peeked in, and said "Boo" to the tart. That literally got an audible lol from me.
It's amazing that Gordon can make such a beautiful dessert in just 15 minutes, while in 15 minutes I can only make a mess in the kitchen and regret even trying to cook
I wanna try out for master chef so bad. I just got up on him. I have schizoaffective disorder and one of the pros I got is the ability to see and do and I have a photographic memory I guess from the need to be super aware of everything going on and remembering what everything is doing to feel safe. Anyway I met a cool girl who put me on the show, and after a month of watching every episode twice I been on fire cooking and I wanna do it but I gotta learn all the little things but I truly love cooking now, I never knew how relaxing and fun it and food is. I literally love GR for changing my live with the world of food. You help my mental disability to the fullest sir.
From what I read, it's not so much Gordon himself, as it is the person he hired as CEO for hell's kitchen that's making that decision, due to some weird ideology of “If you can make it in Dallas, you can make it anywhere,”. Also, money.
Every house I have lived in there has been a little rhubarb bush and can just pick them and bring them in the house. They are very sour and tart so if you don't like that you have to drown them in sugar.
The stalks (like celery) are tart and safe to eat; however, do not consume the leaves (which look like greens). In high enough quantities, they are poisonous and can even be fatal (kidney failure). Do not give either the stalks or leaves to pets.
Love rhubarb. My great grandmother had rhubarb plants and a raspberry field in Gaspé, Quebec on the ocean. Many memories picking rhubarb for her pies and jams. Miss you so much, Grandmama Thérèse ❤

First thing I ever learned to cook was from Gordon Ramsay. A scrambled egg no less. Embarrassing as that is to say, it was an experience I will always remember and was my first introduction to cooking. Thank you Gordon!
I never liked rubarb as a child because of it's bitterness but in college they had this rhubarb crumble that was my favorite dessert ever and honestly I would love to try and recreate that. I haven't had an oven for a few years so it's been a hard time cooking /baking things requiring an oven but I'm getting one soon!

That looks beautiful! I see a lot of rhubarb used on GBBO too. I'd love to try a dessert made with it. We do have it in the US but it's not used a lot. I've seen strawberry rhubarb pies before but that's about it.
In Canada I literally grew up on rhubarb, from raw to pies and cakes. I honestly always thought it was weird as hell, while my grandma and mom loved it and acted like it was the greatest thing since lollipops. I now have great respect for it and enjoy it.
Rhubarb is like a very sour apple! You can put in the same type dessters as apple cake or apple pies. Where you need eggs, floure and rhubarb and sugar. Only my mom always removed the skin from rhubarb with potato shaver and cut it is smaller pieces.

Looks delicious. I'd love to make it. I do have a slight drawback. I have what's called Oral Allergy Syndrome. Blood Oranges raw bother me because they are a hybrid GMO between an apple and an orange and apples set it off. Yes I have eaten a blood orange and reacted to it. This is how I found out they're a GMO. I CAN do most of the recipe because the glaze is cooked, but the cream cheese isn't so my question is would it still turn out okay if I were to substitute the zest in the cream cheese with a regular orange or a Mandarin zest? [ on a side note I get asked a lot about this whenever I mention OAS and people often get it confused with regular food allergies which cause anaphylaxis so to clarify and for those who are curious and want to know what Oral Allergy Syndrome exactly is I'll define it here. Due to me being highly allergic to pollen I have developed OAS. Certain fruits and veggies will set it off. Let's take this for example. I am HIGHLY allergic to Birch trees. Say I am eating a sandwich outside and a whole lot of Birch pollen sprinkled on the bread. After I consume a few bites I start to itch in my throat and the far inner of my ears. This exact thing happens when I eat certain fruits and veggies which carry similar proteins to that of the pollens I'm allergic to. Carrots are a perfect example. Their proteins are very similar to Birch so I can't eat them raw because body thinks I ate pollen. Some people will get just sore in the mouth instead of itching or they will have it along with the itching. I can still eat carrots just not raw. So I steam them that way I can still get their nutrients. Why this is, is because when cooked the proteins get distorted to where my body no longer confuses it as pollen. So things like apple pie and vegetable soup I am able to safely eat without a reaction. ]
I think you could do this with sweet carrot as well. Sounds weird but sweet desert tarts with carrot can be amaaazing. Especially the upside down carrot tarts
Glad to see a different recipe to use. Glad too see you keeping it good in the food industry. Keep it going From: Jacqueline Trimm Syme Hamblen Morrison bloodline. ❤

@John Lol good comment
the way he handles that chicken got me feeling some type of way
That’s true he does tend to stress me out when he cooks nice to see him chill for a second

Give yourself some credit you can make a mess much faster than 15 minutes
Same
Because he prepares himself before filming
He's got staff prepping everything so get yourself a staff and you, too, can do it in ten. Or twelve.

I use to love stewed rhubarb with vanilla ice cream
Excellent execution Chef!I have two of your cookbooks already, I look forward to cooking with you in your new book
PLEASE PLEASE keep doing these. Even now that quarantine is over, I still need to be able to cook good and quick food at home!
