Yeah I call it French Toast too. =) Though mine is much simpler, literally dipping bread in simple omelette (which my untrained brain would define as whipping raw egg with a splash of milk), frying and serving with Maple Syrup is amazing, and a simple way to stretch 3 eggs to feed 3 kids to the extent of full bellies =) In this case, seeing this visually has definitely peaked my interest to try adding more ingredients, especially the cinnamon looked great.
As someone raised in Québec, I'd rather stick with "Golden Bread"... But really, though, seems like "Eggy Bread" is strictly a UK thing. French toast all the way.
Gordon’s “quick and simple” breakfast: use multiple utensils, grate/dice/peel some fruit or veges, cook on the stove or in the oven, serve, season. My “quick and simple” breakfast: put piece of toast in toaster. Cry while toast is toasting about the impending day of doom. Take toast out of toaster. Eat.

*Me bouncing around in my kitchen* : First, add 2 cups of nice crispy frosted flakes into the bowl...then, take a cup and a half of ice cold whole milk ...drizzel gently over the flakes...beautiful
That’s my speed! Except I have to find nonGMO frosted corn flakes, because the GMO corn does a number on my stomach. Rice crispiest, sliced bananas, and milk also much appreciated? Have you ever eaten a banana by dipping each bite in sugar? It may sound gross initially, but the combination of cane sugar with the naturally occurring sugars in bananas is quite special, I discovered as a child.
My girlfriend loves my French toast, I also put vanilla, a bit less sugar, (sometimes) a splash of orange juice, adding maple syrup straight to the mix works well too
Yeah normal definition of quick and simple is like crack 3 eggs on a pan and call it a day. Meanwhile Ramsey makes 3 different meals, sticks them into 1, and calls THAT quick and simple. Makes you wonder what isn't quick and simple...
I find it the most easiest to learn from Gordan because he shows the process a lot more rather than saying, 1 tsp this, 1 that. He just shows you and tells you, less or more.
To all my fellow ramen dieters: drop an egg or two in there while it cooks. They are cheap and add much needed protein to an otherwise nutrient poor meal.
@@wahn10 I don't know about budget, but that museli looks very quick and simple. Mix A and B, mix in most of C. Mix in the rest of C and add toppings. The toasted almonds are entirely optional (heck, you could buy pre-toasted ones I guess) and the toppings are entirely up to preference.
There's another video where he's making some pasta and he says let's put a couple tablespoons of cream and he adds easily half a cup of cream into the pan

French Toast is really more of the Americanized version of this and more of a dessert then an entree. His version is actually pretty light and healthy but if you eat French toast 4 meals a week dont be surprised when you are moving up a notch or two on the belt.
In the U.S., eggy bread was called German Toast prior to WW1. Because of the English driven anti-German sentiment, it was re-dubbed 'French Toast.' Fun fact: the U.S. government would revoke a person's citizenship if they married a German immigrant.
Today on Gordons Kitchen: Cereal!! Gordon: Now first you're going to get your cereal bowl. Now its really important that you select a fine cereal nothing too sharp nothing too soggy *(pours frosted flakes)* oh thats brilliant look at that! Listen as it clinks against the porcelain love that texture and the frosting. Now finally.... The milk. A lot of people choose to use non fat or 2% but to really get that milk flavor..... i find the food easily achievable, though where i live i'd be hard pressed to find fresh blackberries, blueberries or cranberries, so i'll have to settle for the frozen stuff. i wouldn't go for stewed apple often since its diabetes calling but apples and most fruits are cheaper here than vegetables (yes im in asia), and as much as i like avocado (yes its cheap here too) i wouldn't buy it often because avocado trees are making a massively negative ecological footprint in the world. most of these breakfast recipes would be best done a few times a week instead of everyday since most people are limited by fridge space, and with the quarantine situation it would be a very bad idea to go shopping every 3 days. most people will buy enough for 3 weeks or a month to minimize exposure outside.

“Sprinkle in the oats…put the last third in at the end, so I've got different textures”, and who ever thought to “juice” hash-browns first….little details like that make monumental differences. My girlfriend loves my French toast, I also put vanilla, a bit less sugar, (sometimes) a splash of orange juice, adding maple syrup straight to the mix works well too
Quick and simple + Gordon Ramsay...
Been scammed by this combination many times hahah
Yeah normal definition of quick and simple is like crack 3 eggs on a pan and call it a day. Meanwhile Ramsey makes 3 different meals, sticks them into 1, and calls THAT quick and simple. Makes you wonder what isn't quick and simple...
@@hammurabitheawesome674 the definition of quick and easy is cereal + milk
haha it's not that hard🤷🏻♂️

Nah...It is quick and simple. For the breakfast even too simple(for my tase ofc)
All those dishes are quite simple, with one ingredient or another that is a little more obscure (like black seasame seeds).

The toasted almonds are entirely optional (heck, you could buy pre-toasted ones I guess) and the toppings are entirely up to preference.
There's another video where he's making some pasta and he says let's put a couple tablespoons of cream and he adds easily half a cup of cream into the pan

Ha, ha, ha!!

Normal people: French Toast
Gordon Ramsay: EGGY BREAD!!!
He’s no normal man... his recipes and talent are extraordinary. Eggy bread it is from now on!
French Toast is really more of the Americanized version of this and more of a dessert then an entree. His version is actually pretty light and healthy but if you eat French toast 4 meals a week dont be surprised when you are moving up a notch or two on the belt.
My dad calls it eggy bread I felt validated
@@greglarson3048 Classifying French toast as a dessert is just wrong man
French Toast, pancakes, waffles are the main breakfast staple entrees
In the U.S., eggy bread was called German Toast prior to WW1. Because of the English driven anti-German sentiment, it was re-dubbed 'French Toast.' Fun fact: the U.S. government would revoke a person's citizenship if they married a German immigrant.
I love how perfect it looks when its turned over! Amazing
Today on Gordons Kitchen: Cereal!!
Gordon: Now first you're going to get your cereal bowl. Now I like to go with a nice porcelain bowl as you grt a nice crisp clink sound when the spoon hits the bowl.
Next... The cereal.
I use whole.
Cereal. In. Milk. In. Spoon. In. Lets eat. Absolutly brilliant!

Yeah thats why i clean as i go
The clean up is simple, for example when doing the hashbrowns if you do everything correctly you just get two pans, a bowl and colander dirty.

I truly love how straight forward and beautiful cooking can be when you appreciate the ingredients with your love and combine that with decisiveness and confidence. Idk it's late and I'm loving this igniting my passion even more 🙂
I swear he says "A couple tablespoons" for any measurement. Hes like the "2 shots of vodka" Lady
yeah i noticed that 2))))
I was about to comment that lol
more impotant than measuring--- TASTE TASTE TASTE
honestly when you get to the level of expertise of any top chef, like Gordon, they mostly just rely on their intuition (tacit knowledge gained from experience) for measurement instead of exact tablespoon measurements for most recipes

can you imagine how spoiled his family’s taste buds are.
i find the food easily achievable, though where i live i'd be hard pressed to find fresh blackberries, blueberries or cranberries, so i'll have to settle for the frozen stuff. i wouldn't go for stewed apple often since its diabetes calling but apples and most fruits are cheaper here than vegetables (yes im in asia), and as much as i like avocado (yes its cheap here too) i wouldn't buy it often because avocado trees are making a massively negative ecological footprint in the world. most of these breakfast recipes would be best done a few times a week instead of everyday since most people are limited by fridge space, and with the quarantine situation it would be a very bad idea to go shopping every 3 days. most people will buy enough for 3 weeks or a month to minimize exposure outside.
renogiza - I’m not just talking about breakfast tho, Gordon is one of the best chefs in the world, so he might cook 5 star meals for his family every night. If I was only talking about the video, most people that go to the gym eat the oatmeal one, and other people like myself aim for the apple one.
