Imagine if you go to a car dealership and buy a new car....you drive it and keep it nice for 10 years...then out of nowhere the dealership owner show's up at your house and takes your keys and drives off with your car saying *I don't want you to own this car anymore* would that be legal?? NO so why do we allow this crap to happen with Game servers and digital games????

the apple pippin used a mostly standard 4X CD-ROM drive with a SCSI interface, an internal eject button controlled by the console, and set to SCSI ID #3. If it's not working, the problem is likely just the rubber belt inside has degraded. You can easily disassemble and replace the belt.
About a couple months ago, I came across a spice orange game cube on eBay, it was just the GameCube by itself with no power cords or anything. It was from a seller in Japan and they had also installed it with a region switch mod. Best thing about it $80 with $20 shipping. Best purchase I ever did since data showed that the spice orange gamecube essentially by itself I believe it’s like $200 loose

The SNES/upcoming N64 (at that point codenamed Ultra64)/PS1/Sega Saturn and other consoles that came out in 1994ish era had way more financial backing and support than the Pippin did... I would love to have one. I wonder what mods are out there for it, like maybe a disc-less mod... i.e. an ODE (Optical Disc Emulator)

16:30 The 3DO actually had quite a few decent games for it---the problem is that almost every good game on the 3DO got a PlayStation port a few years later. These days, collecting for the 3DO is paying a lot of money for games that are cheaper on a more common system. In fact, the 3DO had very similar specs to the PlayStation. The problem is that it came out two years earlier and those specs cost 3x as much because of that.
Pretty much the only killer app I remember is that it got the then-only port of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo which even when Playstation got it it wasn't nearly as good (and fun fact it was so off that when the largest fighting game tournament of all time, EVO, wanted to use the Playstation version one year, a lot of top players just... refused to enter the tournament that year)

The PS2 power supply is auto ranging, the supply should work on US power as long as you use the right cord, I have one that I bought in Japan when I was there and they just came out and it still works perfect.

That red PS3 Slim isn't Japan-exclusive. I have one as a 3004 model (European). Looks really cool and I got it for quite cheap, because I bought it in parts. I don't know why the previous owner took it apart, but he couldn't get it back together again. There's also a blue model, that I still want. Oh, and on the 3DO they should have gone with one of the best two games ever released: "Plumbers don't wear Ties" or "Night Trap".
I have the exact same 3DO console, but mine was made by Goldstar. From what I heard, the Panasonic controller sucked. My top picks for 3DO would be BC Racers, Road Rash, SamSho, Space Hulk, and Quarantine. These are the games that I still have in my collection and occasionally bust out the system to play.
The GameCube is super easy to convert to US region, you just need to jump a couple of contacts. You can even install a switch to swap it back and fourth.
Steam deck plays 3ds perfectly after some set up. Just 1 extra button to swap screens back and forth for bottom and top. I just played through Ultra Moon again.
Nope a quick search shows they are both region locked. If you need to search another console just type “console region locked?” And it will show you if that console is region locked ^^.

Sendico is getting things from Mercari-equivalent or Yahoo Auction, which is available on other platforms too like Buyee. They existed since before yen drops, and their pricing can be actually more pricier than local price. I mean, it sucks for people that travel all the way to Japan thinking they can ALSO buy up cheap retro gaming from spots like Akibahara, but can you really blame the people selling it AND people buying for listed price? Its not like they haggle it down either.
Check out games like "Captain Quazar", "PO'd" and especially "Soccer Kid" for 3DO. It's definitely worth it. Soccer kid is a great side scrolling game. Tough too.
iirc you don't need a stepdown converter for the PS2, they use 100v in west japan, and 110 in east japan, and the majority of electronics are made with those tolerances in mind; the US uses 120v which is working within the tolerance zone for the transformer inside the PS2. If you're european and using 240v then that's gonna cause issues, but you don't need one for the US.

Installing cfw on a 3ds un-region locks it but the menu language is stuck in the original system language.

The best way to play game boy games on GameCube is to get a GC loader and Swiss and using non-Nintendo software to launch the GBA player
