I had a 2.8 Capri for maybe 10 years. Loved it for what it was…but putting that much engine in one must be absolutely hilarious. They handle like a dream in that they are predictable, but have no grip, which makes them so much fun. I still remember the very first Capri I drove, an asthmatic 1.6 Mk1…..and it was still hilarious and almost incapable of driving in a straight line.
I dunno - I go away for a holiday and you finally get back on the road 😅 Sounds awesome and that engine bay continues to amaze me with how little clutter there is! Absolutely top job fella - can't wait to see it in the flesh one day ... 👍
An upgrade to 5-Lug might be a good idea with the extra torque and weight haha but this this is totally sick!! Must be a riot!! Congrats on the amazing conversion!
Amazing job - great idea getting that donor car - it’s great to see the you doing this hopefully you’ll inspire the next generation too (hopefully they’ll be fitting v8s to electric cars by then lol)
Great to see it up and running. Definitely a self adjusting clutch, ideally should use a removal fitting tool to set. So much work that many just will not realise, keep it up. 👍
The main problem with the Crossfire design is that whatever really good engine you put in it you haven’t cured the problem of it looking so absolutely stupid. My Boss had a new one back in the day and everyone thought the back end “looks like a dog having a poo”😂🤣
How hard can it be to service your car? Those airfilters are the worst i have seen! A wonder it started at al! How did the first oil change look like? Maybe you want to do some quick oil changes if the new oil starts releasing a lot of gunk.... But, what a ripper! Well done!
The oil was drained for shipping, the sump was dirty but I put on a different sump, when I then pulled the clean sump off it was far from clean. Needs a few flushes. Seems to be a common thing finding used expensive things not maintained
What propshaft are you using? I've a similar gearbox without a slip yoke and looking for options. I've also collected a number of 'boxs but more from changing my mind.
@@RoughRestos I’m converting my c43 c class and need the prop and shifter .. I would’ve taken the gearbox as it’s the one I need also but I’ll keep looking.
Oh yess. Well done, mate.
Found this series a couple of weeks ago and I've now caught up. Fantastic project. Pleased you stuck at it as the result is awesome.
Excellent video 👍🏻🇬🇧

Remember when they used to do a 1.3 Capri and a 1.3 Cortina 72 bhp lol.
Really enjoyed these videos, you've done a brilliant job, something to be proud of, well done.
just found you on Utube, I love it. I had a red 2ltr Capri with pepper pot wheels absolutely loved it, It's the only car my wife loved

My weekend sorted playing catch up on this build . Sounds Awesome
Still shocks me that people put no value in servicing their vehicles. Great content here, thank you.
Thank you, yes and I end up with there used rubbish 🤣
Most people that have second hand exotics would in no way be able to afford dealer service prices.
Great work, my bro had a mk1 with a 3.9 rover in it and that was fun so I bet that's pretty mental 👍
Just a touch, thank you
The engine sound of that Capri sounds superb! 👍

Thank you!
M113/112 best Engine Benz ever built. Good choice
Great build, something I've always thought would be a fab idea!
Thank you, it's something different for sure!
Well done Jordan. You keep coming up against issues but always work your way round them. You are one clever guy.
Thank you, can't turn back when you get this far, there's always a way 😁
@@RoughRestos You've done really well mate, keep it going!! 🤗

Cant beat a tidy workshop!
Indeed, nice when you can see the floor!

Thank you, might look into the tool, pedal is higher than it was before 🤣
Great work , keep your head up even when things don’t go right 😊
I recognise those roads lol 👍🏻
Thank you, ideal roads for the Capri 😆
Sounds and looks superb top work .
Awesome work on that, sounds great too 👍👍
sounds awsome, happy that is drives good
Awesome awesome awesome. It sounds sooooo good.
Next project, put a 2.0 Pinto in the Crossfire 🤪
Tempting 🤣
Top work hope you enjoy putting some miles on it now.
Sounds sweet 👍
Always a good call getting a downer car, pretty good progress mate
Thank you
Sounds great
Looking good hard work does pay off ,cross fire I would put a 2J z turbo engine in it straight six Rocket 🚀 cheers

Love it pal sounds mint
As a mechanic of 40yrs, that duell mass has far to much play!! If pos it wants a single mass, that's balanced!! Great build all credit 👍 👍
Thank you, unfortunately there isn't many single mass options without spending 4 figures all in
That gearbox mount is a LOT less agricultural 😂
Sounds lovely, goes like the proverbial turd off of a shovel.
Nice to see it drive.... Need some drive by video
I'll get some footage at somepoint
Lovely old job
Legend!!!!!

The random guy in Southampton that sold you the first gearbox off his front drive needs a word?
Please put the videos in your playlist in order.

Had one made by north west propshafts using the front half of the merc shaft
Had a slip joint put in and a new centre bearing
Have to replace mercedes SLK ABS sensors in pairs or it throws a fault, bet this is the same
Just double check the m112 has the same flywheel bolt pattern as you have on the 960
In the U.K. I think the Crossfire just came with a 3.3 litre Merc engine?
3.2 merc m112 v6
Get your 190 back on the wheels alone... Passat boys like those wheels...
We need to see numbers at dyno!
Will come one day
Do a zf8 + m113 for the crossfire
Not sure that's worth it, I'd like to put a m113 and a Zf8 in a RRC
@@RoughRestos styling issues 🤣? What's a RRC?

Can I buy a few things off that crossfire? Looking for the prop and gear linkage/shifter?
Quite possibly, I was going to hold onto them, but could sell if you need them

Don't bother with a 2.8 Capri axle, use a 8 or 9 inch Ford.
Hi. I'm in New Zealand. Anyone out there who can help me find a manual conversion set up for my CLK, m113?
Sounds disgusting well done .)
