they aren't building Hi car as a real drag car, Misery Machine is being built to be one. electrical aside, all you need is frame, body, motor, transmission, rear end, steering, brakes and a seat. hopefully Nolan will end up going that route and beat hi car every time. 1/8th mile car, no alternator needed, could go to a junkyard and get a small gas tank and put it in the trunk, many things to do for free to drop weight
I think the issue is the vent. The original fender didn't have one. And you'd think cutting a hole in the side would make it lighter. But the extra material to build up the vent, then the little plastic insert piece easily killed the weight savings. If they'd got a normal style fender, just in carbon fiber then it probably would've weighed a lot lighter.

I agree that it's going to be supercharger vs nitrous. When they put on the hood, Jobe says something about there being lots of room for a supercharger and LoCar is limited to 10k total.
You need a roll cage before swapping the back glass or windshield with a lighter material. The glass is actually part of the rollover safety. Could have removed the window motors and replaced the glass with thin lexan though.

The location of that kit might be where you actually want the weight. Weight reduction is not only about total weight loss. It’s about front/rear bias. 40lbs isn’t a lot for total weight reduction but can be a spot in the rear to keep that 40lbs. Especially for later in day runs when track heat is a factor for traction.

I've never been to a drag strip to race, but I've seen the long lines the racers wait in while in their cars to get to the starting line. At some point comfort has to be a consideration in those long waits while seated in their drag cars for many of them.

You can see mystery machine traps 90mph and red rocket traps 86mph. The mystery machine is definitely the faster car. Donut should post the trap speed on their white board. A before and after trap speed would definitely show how much improvement these mods make.

You can see mystery machine traps 90mph and red rocket traps 86mph. The mystery machine is definitely the faster car.
Donut should post the trap speed on their white board. A before and after trap speed would definitely show how much improvement these mods make.
