How did you press in the dust covers on the front calipers, I’m having a nightmare with mine?

What were your symptoms? … my boost pipe was dry when I bought it 5 months ago and it has acquired a lot of oil residual on the boost pipe the last month or so. I have no codes but the car does not build lower rpm boost and gets boost around 3500k but is lacking a lot of power. The car has 200k and runs pretty well until last week. Thanks in advance.

What’s happening? Every Saturday morning (it’s morning for me I am in Toronto) I wake up and turn on you tube and hope to see a Capri video on Rough Restos. Only to be disappointed. I own a mk1 Capri with a California body and rubbish mechanicals. I also own a 2003 S55 AMG with a 113K engine. I fantasize I get someone to install the 113K with a custom billet aluminum transmission adapter and a 6 speed getrag transmission into my 1970 Capri…..

Jordan amazing effort. Just about to do this on my 07 L322. I need to do the sills/arches... normal L322 stuff but I also need to treat the rear subframe. I've had a look around mine and it's a little crusty but man for a 2011 I must say I was surpised by yours, looks like it has been in some salt to get that bad! I'm in 2 minds to drop the rear subframe now after seeing your video! I'm working on the ground with it so I don't have the lift as a luxury so trying to see if I need to or not! Keep up the great work!

This is so helpful. I am a bit stuck though. I bought the adaptor, connected it up, Putty finds it fine and transmitting and receiving works fine. However, after I invert RXD Putty still picks up what I am typing. I have stopped there as I don't want t bugger anything up. Thanks so much for the video, I am restoring a TVR Chimaera and have been wanting to get into the brain for ages but just cannot get a cable for it. Now I have the ingredients to make my own. Cheers! EDIT: PID for chip is 6001 which used to be enough to check if it was a genuine chip. However, a quick check of the serial number shows it is counterfeit A50285BI is a known bad serial. Not sure what to do now as getting a new adaptor is not possible at the moment. Will keep troubleshooting and update here if I get it right...

I just watched all your episodes about the conversion. I'm very impressed, absolutely fantastic work and skill 👏👏👏. I have finished restoring my capri by myself, but is runing on standard, week pinto engine. I'm thinking of stealing your ideas, and maybe put 112 or 113 aswell. I will probably ask a few questions on coments each episode. Thanks

Great video and very helpful. I managed to leave the exhaust system on and get away with just removing just the rear heat shield on my truck but it was a M57 TD6. If it helps anyone I had to cut a 16mm Swan neck spanner down to get at the rear top bolts as I had to do mine on drive on ramps and couldn't risk moving the truck out of park. I did all this only to find out that the bearing I bought from eBay was sent incorrectly, different from the pictures on ebay and I'd also double checked with "my garage " section to make sure I'd ordered the right part. If only I'd trebled checked before I crippled the truck, you live and learn...hope this helps anyone with a TD6

Top tip: to shut of the brake fluid just depress the brake pedal and prop it down with a stick against the drivers seat. It shuts off the reservoir. You can make a brake pedal prop using a quick clamp and reverse the jaws, very simple to do (there’s a YT vid on the subject)

Great video! My My L322 blows warm air, but not super hot. Could it be something with coolant system? maybe a leak? and sometimes, after 15-20min the air becomes hot. I think it's odd to take it that long. I live in Iceland so every minute counts 🤣

I have a 2011 as well and my friend has been doing most of what youv'e done ie bushes and propshaft etc. i'd like to know more about the ABS bleading as I am not sure after doing all the lines and hardware on the back of the car that its bled properly may get a pressure bleeder. my ABS does the same but starts back left, back right drivers side, front left then front right. we.ve been using a Mucar VO7 S works well. thanks again

Yeah, i think most have that feeling, love/hate! Mine only has four faults at the moment (i think). The oil leak that dribble down the automatic, picking up the seal's on Monday. P040-00 exhaust gas reciculation temp sensor A. A knocking when braking, but not always, and if it starts gets worse with every time you brake, and can be gone next time you drive!? And here's the most annoying one, every thing is perfect intill you lock it,or rather till you unlock, then it gives a short beep followed with the alarm going off and pretty much everything dies. Only way to get it going is by removing the battery clamp and putting it back when the alarm is silent. Side repeaters go off and every thing is back to normal.... oh well, you need something to fill your day's, don't you? God luck with yours!
