  • Hey y'all! I took a golf lesson with Zach to gain more distance. In this lesson he teaches me the importance of the lower body, and the key to generating more speed. Make sure to stay until the end for a few drills that will help us engage our lower body.

    Another appreciation post here Erndog, I have come back to rewatch this lesson and worked on it today, will take a while to take to the course but I can see more powerful shots straight away. Starting to think it’s better to watch and work through your lessons 1 by 1 than seeing a pro in person.

    I have play 9 holes in the early morning 6 days a week. My game has worsened over the last 2 years due to arthritis, nerve damage, and a torn ligament in my lead left hand. In the last 2 months I did not break 40. In one day I watched 10 UA-cam videos of Zach Berhow teaching Ernie. I rehearsed the golfswing in my home without a club and the next morning I shot 36!
    ( 2 bogies & 2 birdies). I learned get deeper and wider in my backswing, the arms dropping to get the shaft in line with my trail arm, to keep my shoulders closed, the feet and leg action in my downswing straightening my lead leg sooner as I push off my trail foot, the roll of my forearms early to square the clubface and how to get the a better ratio of face to path to draw the ball by using more of my dominant good right hand to feel and throw the center of gravity of club correctly using an iron to bottom after the ball and up using the driver.
    I now understand for the first time the reason Hogan wished he had more than one right hand.
    Zach's understanding and his ability to produce measurable results is outstanding.
    Erndog, how is it that you and Zach are so generous to provide such quality instruction for Free?
    In my opinion Zach Berhow is The Best Golf Instructor.

    Hey there. First off, I appreciate you guys. I have 1 billion questions…but let start with one.
    •I seem to get ‘stuck’ at impact. I’m the guy that ‘had’ a swing. I read a ‘getting 30 more yards out of your drive’ article that fully stole my ‘mojo’. I can no longer get any distance (all a solid 150)…can’t throw a frisbee and really struggle. I’m so happy to have met you guys.
    Where would you recommend I ‘start’?
    *also I’m in Calgary Ab, got a basement you could come stay in. Got a beautiful wife a great dog (Penny) and a ragdoll cat (Kevin) that is a good boy.
    Come stay, it’s damn near summer and we could go to the Stampede, do some dancing and build me a swing.
    **I dare ya!!!

    So I used to do this (straighten my lead knee early and release my trail foot) and my hips open too fast, leaving my arms behind and eventually upper body getting stuck. Any drills to sync upper and lower body better as I do this with the lower body?

    • @ErndogGolf
      @ErndogGolf  10 місяців тому

      Hmmm what type of swing are you trying to swing? With a draw type of swing, that’s okay to have the upper and lower body separation. Just let the arms pass through first and it’ll help a ton with an in to out path!

    • @jbv2081
      @jbv2081 10 місяців тому

      @@ErndogGolf i think he addressed this on one of your lessons. I think the key is to do the lateral first before the post up move with the lead knee to give time for the arms to come down. Great lessons. Keep up the good work

    I have been playing for 15 years, and I can’t break 90. I am. Very inconsistent ball striker , I have no clue where to begin to improve my game. I have been playing longer than all my golf buddies, and They are all better than me, it’s really embarrassing to go out with them now. I am positive I should be better than what I am currently. I know so much about the swing, but can’t incorporate it , in my swing. I live in Redford Mi. Please help me.

    • @ErndogGolf
      @ErndogGolf  6 місяців тому

      Hey there! Continue watching the rest of the videos (especially the ones where I’m struggling when I see Zach) and that should help a lot. Learn to swing the club in to out, learn face control, practice a consistent ground strike and that’ll help you be more consistent. Easiest way to break 90 is getting off the tee any way possible and learning to chip and putt. Don’t be discouraged- it’s a hard game. But the more you practice, the better you’ll get
