If you're in Dallas and are wanting to take a lesson with Zach, his contact information is in the description! Hope you enjoyed the video!
closed shouldera into impact is one part of the puzzle...mike malaskas right hand slap (finish shaking hands with rhand) ie no r.hand roll is 2nd part to give consistent draw.
Dont put ball too.forw..ball off armpit keeps path in to out
Zach is the goat golf coach on UA-cam! the man knows exactly what he's talking about and teaches so straight forward and simple, genius 👍
Every time I lose my driver I come back to this video. Just a gold mine of information
This guy is money. The best I have ever seen after watching endless YT instruction videos. Thanks for sharing with us.
Same here. I left Dallas 2 years ago now I kinda wish I stayed😃
Zack is gold. Such clarity in his instruction and good kinetic guidance and cues. Keep sharing these lessons Ernie!
Glad you like them!
Zach hands down the best YT instructor: Clear concise & technical explanation. The icing on the cake is he is so to the point (hardly any repetitive redundant and jibberish explanation)
congrats on getting hitched. Been following you and Zach for a year now. I appreciate the value you both bring to my golf game!
What a cool way to share your journey !!! My kurdos to you and your coach Zach !
My guy that instructor is awesome!!! I went out and tried what he was saying about keeping the chest back to allow the arms to release. 😮 I feel like it’s the puzzle piece I’ve been missing all this time
Bro, Erndog, this video fixed my Driver slice thank you so much for basically putting free lessons online like this 🙏🏼
This has absolutely changed my driving. I hit it straight, and longer. I tried with my irons too, high snd straight, more distance. What a tip!
Love what Zach said about not panicking when bad shots show up and just dialing it back! Trusting your fundamentals and just tightening things up back into functional territory is something my coach emphasizes as well.
Zach is the real deal. No lectures just practical guidance backed up by hard-won knowledge about the golf swing. Can I ask if you’ve talked about wrist conditions with Zach? I’m coming late to your wonderful videos so it might have been covered earlier. Thanks again and good luck with your journey.
Zach is easily my favorite coach I've seen on UA-cam or anywhere else. I wish I could find someone like him here in NJ. I'm rehabbing a week old meniscus tear and Im so anxious to get back out there. Everytime you post a Zach lesson, I love to see if I can incorporate some of your lesson into my swing. I'm saving this one so when I'm ready I'll be rewatching and then trying what I learned here on the range. Thanks for posting Ernie!
Wishing you a quick recovery brother!
From someone whom has had 7 knee Surgeries ,6 on left with 3 total knee replacements and right ACL and all Radial meniscus ,Do not rush back from that injury as It Never Heals Correctly,Strengthen it and good Luck !pS I play2-3 times an week!
HOLY CRAP! SO much "gold" in this - thanks for sharing!!!! So much to take from this.
Hi, I’m in the UK and recently found your channel. I’m now hooked!! Seems like we have (had for you) similar swing faults so I find your journey to overcome these fascinating!! Man, ‘The Doc’ is an awesome instructor!!! He gets the point across in such a simple yet effective way. Just wish I could find a similar guru here in England. Keep your the great work and a massive congrats on the wedding news!!!
Hey Ern. Just wanted to contacted you to say thanks so much for these videos. Zach is an absolutely phenomenal coach and explains things so well. If I were in the US, and not the UK, I’d be moving to Texas just to get some tuition from him.
What’s up brother , great video!! Zack is such a good coach man 💯💪 these lesson videos are like a cheat code 😂
My brother! Hahahaha he really is man. I spent like 3 weeks trying to figure it out on my own
Loved this video and the instructor Zach
I'm really happy for you. When I was taught about path, face to path, and AoA ...it changed my life. I know what you are feeling. it's like you found the secret to golf. Now, you just have to engrain that wisdom into your body over the next couple years.
I wish we had a coach with hair and a beard that good 'round these parts. Spasmed my lumbar muscles hitting a sidebent snap hook today. Ernie, loving these free lessons. We tend to do the same things incorrectly so your videos have been a treasure trove for me.
Glad they help!
So many nuggets of gold wisdom in this video especially for a self taught, mid to low handicap golfer, such as myself. Going to study this one closely. Nicely done, both instructor and student!
learning to keep my shoulders & arm from overtaking & keeping the shoulders closed & levelled, Great video !
Love the videos. Think your very lucky to have such a great instructor. Very easy to follow
I had online lessons with Zack and he is great. Riz
Pretty amazing lesson, good work!
Zach is a genius. Great video Ernie! 👍
Love these lesson videos. Wish I had a teacher that good! I'm taking all of this to my practice sessions.
Please keep me updated!
Hi Erine, I'm from Sydney Australia, been wathcing your vids and I have much the same issue's as you. This lesson re hitting the driver, I have been practicing this for the last few weeks. Played in my local club competition on Sunday and shot 42 points. I'm off 19 and was smashing my drive and hitting my irons so much better. Zach is an amazing teacher and explains things so simply. Thanks for sharing.
I liked this lesson. Thanks for all your work in making these videos Ernie.
Hopefully the demonstration of the sternum and the handle is a light bulb moment for people struggling to get their path out💡
This video is jammed packed with tastey bites of instruction to really help my game out, keep on the journey.
Really enjoying this channel. I think you have something unique showing your continuous progression with a great coach. Im able to relate to this more than the other 'tip of the week' channels.
One of my fave videos of yours yet Ern… mainly because it’s so relatable at this current time! I’ve been playing pretty well (by my standards) but driver has been AWFUL! I’ve had a terrible straight pull left, so put it down to throwing my shoulder out way too soon. Anyway, went to the range today and just tried to feel like I was keeping my chest pointing back. SOOO much better… not only much straighter but so much more consistent with hitting centre of the face! Love your videos with Zach my man… keep them coming and keep smashing it with the journey… all the best, Chris 🇬🇧
Love it, thank you one of the best instructors ❤
Looking forward to the new driver, good luck in the fitting
you and I are in similar places in our games and every lesson video ends up being a huge help... that being said my driver is the worst for me and the last 2 tip videos with Zack and im happy to say I only hit 3 Fairways in my last round but 0 lost balls. everything was far and in play... shot my first 78.
Great lesson! Helped my sequencing immensely! TY
Loving this video!
Zach is the man.
He really is!
Boss! Amazing! Best golf coach ever. Is it the same for iron swings also?
Yes basically
Another good lesson, for me :) Our journey's are so similar, this was exactly my problem yesterday. Good luck on the move!!
Love your vids and commitment to getting better. Zach is a great instructor. I get something out of every video you guys make. Loved the “keep the chest closed” at impact.
Glad you like the videos! Keeping the chest closed was huge!
Can't wait to see your driver fitting!
Outstanding coach and video so relatable to my own game, you’ve a new subscriber 👍🏌🏻👏🏻🙏
Gold, thanks!
Hey great vid for us over-drawing, sometimes blocking issues. You clarify how to deal with almost all of the issues I have dealt with trying to fix the swing but not consistenly!!!
Good video. Liked the instruction he gave you.
Haha you need a light bulb icon over your head😁. I like how Zach always seems to be able to explain AND show you the feeling of where you need to be. Its almost comical when you realize what correction is the key 💡*ding*
He's an excellent teacher, but you put in enough work so that the concepts take hold after a bit of correction. Keep it up, your videos are great. Happy Easter, and keep swinging.
Hahahahah I may need to incorporate that on the next lesson video!
this coach is amazing
zach is brilliant.
Great lesson wow
13:40 solved driver hooks for me, thank you so much
Zac needs to move to Australia. The right shoulder back feel has fixed my golf swing with all clubs.
Hahaha maybe if this channel blows up one day, Zach and I can fly to Australia 🤣
This one was great. Love the content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was great. Thanks for sharing sir.
Glad you enjoyed it!
great video ! It was an eye opener, I close the face as you were, I'm going to try keep from rolling my wrists and opening my shoulders.
This is phenomenal instruction. It's very similar to Malaska teaching.
Dude perfect timing having the same issues with my driver. Can’t wait to get to the range and try this!!!
Hahaha please keep me updated!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for sharing your golf journey and Coach Zach lessons. Does this tip/ lesson that Zach fixed on your driver apply the same with fairway wood?
Brilliant
Where you were is where I am right now. No confidence where the ball is going with any club. I'm to the point where I dread going to the golf course to play. I used to love this game....
Love this channel
Thank you!!
@@ErndogGolf Do you have regular shaft driver?
This is a video i really resonate with I had a very similar problem after a knee injury in college that to keep my speed up after recovering from surgery I would do this same thing and just hold the angle. I could low bullet it out there 250 but just could not get it in the air at all with driver playing a very low spin driver at the time really didn't help either worst part is I hit my irons great when it was going on. Finally worked out of it this past year this is a great video and I hope this helps a lot of people out of driver yips.
Glad to know I’m not alone in this! I hope this video helps a ton of people too!
what a great lesson, thanks. do you think "swinging down the 1st base line" helps with keeping the right should back?
Hey that first time watching your channel. This video demonstrates probably what I'm doing wrong with my driver. I'll check out your other videos but would you say that the closed shoulders at impact also applies with irons?
I’m new to this channel. So, I watched a few videos, and I’m like, “who does Ernie remind me of?”
McLovin! amirite?
So much great info. Thanks for sharing. I have a lesson scheduled on Monday and driver is one of the main topics 👍🏻🏌🏻♂️
Man where is Zack located? Cause I need these lessons lol
Love all these videos ern. Yoi focus so much on loft. If you wanted to have the ball roll on more and compress it for the maximum distance what would you need to change in your swing that you have learned so far to achieve that instead of a high draw?
Lovely to see Tormund Giantsbane getting work after GoT
Hi Ernie, very impressed by your golf videos. Trying to absorb as much as I can. In my 60s, 18 handicap, have taken lessons in the past, and remain very inconsistent. I have a question that I cannot find an answer to: During the take-a-way, do the hands remain square through to the top, or do they roll open with effort? In other words, with "square hands", when the hands reach about hip-high during take-a-way, the face is slightly closed; whereas, when the hands are allowed to roll open, the face points straight up to the sky, or slightly open at hip high.
Thanks again. It's going to take me months to absorb you and Zach's lessons. Desperately hoping your videos will help.
Dallas. I did my surg residency at parkland. Y’all ever play the Tillinghouse course where they played the 1927 pga championship? You need to if you haven’t. I learned to play at cedar crest. My first time to shoot even par I lost 400 to a cross handed player, in 96. Last name Crews
When I get bad with driver, I top it like that. My death move is spinning shoulders too. Will keep this one thumbnailed
Ernest I just ran into your channel and I have binged on most of your videos and watched your incredible journey to improve . Curious which type of grip do you use ? Strong , Medium or weak ? Thank you .
If you can get pass that he looks like a Viking-he is an outstanding coach. Has a very calm voice and demeanor.
14% Scandinavian
Nice video. What was the feeling you used to hold the face square through impact instead of closing it?
Close early then stabilize
Great video, I definitely have the same problem hooking the ball with driver. Very helpful. So what’s the session you’ll be doing with Mike in 2 weeks, would you be able to post that too or a video recapping that lesson?
It’s a driver fitting! I’ll be posting that in either 2 or 3 weeks!
Does Zac do online lessons?
The hardest day is -- the day after a lesson !
Not sure if your a training aid guy but that perfect hands golf will help you with this also keep up the good work
Never opposed! I’ll check it out! Thanks!
Is there a video he talked about the trail leg/knee ?
Watch 64 and 26 for lower body work!
You gotta be friggin kidding me. I thought this was bad cause that’s how my swing looks and I was tryna learn how to turn my shoulders thru leaving the club behind. I swear, I’m so tired of changing my swing. All I wanna do is play scratch golf
I think the camera perspective isn't doing any favors fr. The angle is kinda throwing me off
It might only apply to the driver.
its weird I had this same issue and before this year i've never seen any youtube videos talking about over turning shoulders like this. but then this year(2024) like 8-9 golf youtubers have released videos about this problem in like the last 2 months.
What are the adjustments we need to hit a fade with that swing? Or that only works with draws?
With this, your path is right, so the ball is starting right. If your face matches your path, you’ll hit a push. If you leave the face open, it’ll go way right on you. If you want to hit a fade, bring in your path to either negative or neutral and leave the face slightly open. Figure out if your hook is either a positive path or a negative path
Damn. I’ve been trying to maintain wrist angle by gettin the shoulders through
The scary part of this video is the realization that even after you think you have your swing grooved, you can completely lose it. Somehow, we have to be able to diagnose and fix what we're doing wrong on our own. Otherwise, I'll have to keep a coach on speed dial.
Saw me in you. No confidence with my driver, good with irons. Hc 17. Driver = big slices or top, bal I to the ground…. I try right foot back, drive on one leg, was fantastic. Has too much lower body rotation so my arms finishes outside in. Your coach force you to had less upper rotation, play more with the arms, i ll have to do this.
That sounds dirty.
😮so aim ya chest kinda back and swing arms early
Just got back from the range to try this out..my swing was trash. It works, took time but when i held my chest back and allowed my arms to swing through the ball contact was great and finally I could get the ball up
When is the next video? It’s been a month lol
I love my Saturday morning videos.
You should get super speed and a Prgr
You could do a speed series. Easy way to make some fun content. Follow the protocols and show your speeds.
What is your biggest swing thought from this lesson that has helped you ingrain the feel?
So as I start my downswing all I’m thinking is: keep chest pointed to the right, square club early, and let the arms pass my chest!
I love this coach, calm, pity he is 6000 miles South West!
What is the ONE swing thought you have when hitting the driver?
Zach is a great coach! But why do I feel like I need insurance from Geico?
☝️☝️
Learning a whole bunch about my driver swing by watching your video's ..... Thanks for putting these video's out for everyone ! (I'm in Canada but if I ever get to Dallas I'd love to book a lesson)
Glad they’re helping!
Focus on and complete your swing... you are too anxious to turn around and look at the trackman. Watch your ball flight, them look at your numbers. It's hard to consistently swing good with the underlying thought being "What are my numbers?".
I would never be able to handle that level of hand manipulation in the down swing. "Close early, then stabilize" would be a disaster for me.
Hi Ernie what is Zack’s surname
