The most important golf metric to make you more consistent
In a sport where we track all sorts of golf metrics. From strokes gained, to greens in regulation; one aspect that's not tracked very often is your mental performance. In this week's video I play 3 rounds of golf without caring about my golf score. The results are pretty incredible.

Dude I feel like the pre shot routine has ruined pace of play. If you are not in tournament or close to scratch the pre shot routine should be quick. Practice swing line up hit. If taking time anywhere it should be the greens ... Everyone and their mom thinks pre shot routine is this big thing for 99% of players it's not. In my opinion...

I tried sooooo many technics hitting my driver, and nothing helped until now. I tend to strat the swing with my right shoulder. This caused a pull or a banana ball lol. I took this swing thought to the course today, and I increased my distance 25 yards, and also hitting them in the fairway. Yes, I had a few bad drives, but I stuck to it. I even lowered my score by 5 shots. Thank you for Shariig this magnificent swing thought.

Great video! I'm getting coaching for the first time in ~20yrs and my scores are also going in the wrong direction, but that's part of the process. Swing is feeling really good and the good holes are pars, the medium holes are bogeys, and the bad holes are triples. So if I can just get those triples with a tee shot OB off the card I should be in good shape :)

I like the shorter videos with Zach and the lessons. A 10 minute video is about as long as i can watch. Also when my swing is out of whack i don't play at all until i work it out which sometimes takes weeks, but i don't enjoy golf unless i am hitting it well. I hate to be that guy but watching you hit balls your backswing is way inside and you are looping it up over the top when you transition down. You are so far inside that your only choice is to throw it out on the downswing. On second thought just do whatever Zach says he is awesome.

Just some feedback, I personally really enjoyed the lessons with Zach and I know you mentioned the whole analysis paralysis but if you go off on your own, won't you just hit that wall again? When you're out playing, I think its important to condense the swing thought to just one thing that results in the most consistent strike. Also, I prefer shorter and frequent (couple videos/week) vs 20 min+ /week and just hear the stuff you've been working on, what has and hasn't worked, etc. Good luck!

Start watching Golf Sidekick. Really zone in on the course management aspect, and making decisions based on your strengths, and really understanding course and lie of the ball. With the skill set you currently have, there is no reason for you to not be in the single digit handicap range. I walked away from my range pass at its last renewal time, started playing courses regularly, and only practicing on the chipping/putting greens instead of range time. Dropped an average of 10 strokes in a couple months just doing this.

This hits home! Been going way to down the rabbit hole on swing lessons and mechanics, getting worse and worse results overtime. Even started shanking! The one good thing to come of it is, I understand my tendencies in my swing deeply now. However, I'm now on the journey to let go all of the mumbo jumbo on the tee box and just commit to swinging at the target and accept the result.
