Lol I suggested to write down the build but you beat me to it, I crashed out lol 😀 ty for writing this out, greatly appreciated !
Yeah someone had written it in a comment a video or so ago, that if they could take the extra time, I could crank out more videos while they wrote them out for me.
@@ArcaneAgent ah I see, well I seem to have a fair bit of free time I will try to do a video or 2 for you 👍
Hey man. I've recently gone back to Pathfinder Kingmaker and found your channel. I love your builds (playing through with the Reach Rouge now). If I may offer advice, don't pander to the trolls in comments. Your family and job are more important than us! So what if we think Mage Armor is dumb, it's YOUR build. We CAN and SHOULD modify to our style. These are your input, and we obviously want that, so own it!
Keep it going man. You're doing awesome!
I still use mage armor hehe
Thanks for including your spell choices. I’ve played Pathfinder since it came out but I never had the guts to play an arcane caster. Now I want to.
Arcanes are a favorite of mine
What
Thank you. Going into depth in the builds really helps understand the mechanics of the classes. 100 hours into it I’m still not content with what I choose. At least you seem to have reasons for what and why you choose. Tinker and if it doesn’t work I re- roll or start over.
That be what I do
I like it! Looks like a stereotypical hero character, can do the talk, can survive the fights, and can perform dazzling feats of slaughter and fireworks.
You cant spell slaughter without laughter
Great work! Was waiting for this kind of build for my 2nd playthrough, thank you :)
Have fun remember you can always play these bills differently than I do
Touch attacks routinely go through armor not spell resistance, however snowball does go through spell resistance because the spell doesn't really effect the target.
The logic is that the spell just creates and launches the projectile which then has to hit the target by rolling against the targets touch AC.
Unless im mistaken snowball is the only level 1 offensive spell that ignores spell resistance, spells like this are often from the conjuration school.
The trend continues with higher spell levels of conjuration spells (acid arrow, glitterdust, stinking cloud...)
I'm not sure how effective the crowdcontrol spells are for this build though, a pure caster sorcerer will likely cast the spells at 3-4 dc above this build due to higher charisma and spell focus feats, this obviously depends a lot on difficulty though. just dropping from challenging to normal takes care of that entire gap in one go if i recall.
I looked at it and even hellfire ray, scorching ray and disintegrate ray also have to go through spell resistance
@@ArcaneAgent those spells have to go through spell resistance but snowball automatically bypasses it.
None of those are conjuration spells though, hellfire & scorching rays are evocation and disintegrate is transmutation.
Disintegrate makes a lot of sense since it actually transmutes the target (at least the point of impact of the target).
I guess you could make a case either way for scorching and hellfire but they do get effected by spell resistance.
Exactly
@@ArcaneAgent The basic premise is that conjuration uses magic to create material from the environment or draws it from another plane, but once it exists on the plane it is no longer magical in nature. The snowball created by the spell is basically just a very compact ball of ice that has nothing truly magical about it which is launched at high speed. In a practical sense it's like having a cannon that fires balls of ice, but the spell opens a little hole in space that lets the cannon fire so you don't have to carry it with you. Conjuration is all about moving energy around between locations and planes.
That's not to say that all Conjuration is immune to Spell Resistance. Sometimes what conjuration does is it opens a direct line between a plane and a target, such as with Cure spells. In the case of Cure the caster is creating a bridge from the plane of Positive energy directly into the target. Because that bridge is a direct connection with the target the magic is affecting them directly and any Spell Resistance they have can apply against it. Undead creatures are usually the only ones that would choose to prevent that, but they can do so.
I would love to see your builds demonstrated at low, mid, and high level play. (High level builds are great, but i want to enjoy getting there too.)
So like level 5 10 etc?
My brothers name is Loric IRL
It's true. My brother sent me a screenshot and I was floored. I don't see my name very often.
Well this is awesome hehe! I believe I got the name from Diablo 1. But that was King Leoric. Just took the E off
What if you want to do a midline/melee version of this or at least without the bow?
I dig it man. Make sure to grab that character as a Lawful Good Monk, as there is a robe that only Lawful Good Monks can equip that gives them like +5 DODGE, which stacks with any other Dodge you have! You will love it.
Oof
Paladin, so no choice. Good information tho.
I am glad that people in my comments help each other out and don't trash-talk each other. This is exactly the kind of UA-cam community that I want to create
Daym, son.
Pathfinder is sure a successor to 3.5e, usual bullshit about sorc/pal is still there.
For those who dont know, pal2/sorc5 was the staple gish build, from here on people usually branch into eldrich knight or some another kind of magic/warrior hybrid.
Hey stop giving away my next video builds lol
Scale fist gives Charisma to AC.
Yeppers
keep in mind that in pathfinder every class gets a capstone ability that is often times VERY powerful, and that losing out on it is usually not worth the cross class. Some might still do this for early level cheese and since you cant get to level 20 in the current game i can see cross class cheese. But if we COULD get to level 20 you'd see alot of folks sticking with there class, the celestial bloodline alone gives an immunity to a few things some damage resistances and infinite flight(better in pen and paper then crpg's) but if you expect a cross class to be infinitely better then a pure class you'll be disappointed.
So true. Pure rogues get a chance to instakill
You're right that stuff like Cat's Grace doesn't stack with the ability enhancement belts. Those are decent spells to have at low levels, but they are going to be useless by the time you're about 8th level.
Especially since for some reason sorcerers cant replace spells yet
I appreciate you taking time to make these, being a family man and all that.
Lol. I love that there is still 2% of people out there who think they are going to dictate how I run my channel.
But I do appreciate the people who support me
@@ArcaneAgent Fuck that shit man. Do your thing, I am a firm believer of "If you don't like how someone else does, do it yourself".
loosing lvl 9 spells is questionable at best, a compromise is to go emp sorc / trad monk and drop those 2 paladin levels for more sorc levels to get lvl 9 spells and an extra lvl 8 spell while still keeping a high will save. reflex saves are not dangerous anyway so that leaves only weil of the banshee to worry about as a fort save and 2 instances of baleful polymorph.
Without mods There aren't any special level 9 spells, level 7 spells are enough, for endgame on unfair
I like that videos I made 5 months ago are still getting comments and suggestions
On earlier videos I thought the comments were harsh but the videos are getting better. Everyone keep up the abuse until liquid is #1!
Haha abusing yalls way to the top eh?
Handsome man, and thanks for the content on Pathfinder.
Is it because I shaved?
@@ArcaneAgent Haha, nope you are fine both ways. Thanks for the vids again on Pathfinder!
*Takes elemental focus fire*
*Doesn't take fireball*
*Watches brains melt*
Lol. This is pretty cool. I think I'd like this build going with the fey Sorc that gets an animal companion.
Fireball at best does 10 D6 damage. Fireball also does damage to your teammates. That's the reason why I grab Hellfire Ray or scorching Ray instead
@@ArcaneAgent sure, I'm not saying necessarily that fireball is better than all other fire spells, but to take ele focus for fire and then for lvl 3 spells, take lightning bolt but not fireball...it hurt my heart.
Haha I know, but lightning bolt is easier to use and not hurt your buddies
@@ArcaneAgent I gotta agree with Paul here, there are a thousand reasons your main caster should shoot fireball first as an attack while everyone "holds" for a split second then charges. Or two casters both drop bombs on them at the same time. Fireball is a very OP spell in D&D if used well.
True. Just wait for my next caster build
14:37 "fifth level is a really odd level" .. you heard it here first guys, 5 is odd! :-)
love all your Builds, Thanks.
I love all of your comments! Seriously thought, I've been doing UA-cam for 2 years, and I've always played DnD games, and this is the first time I posted and played something like this, and people love it.
This is so good. Love your vids man.=)
Thanks person
If you're going to do oldschool 3.5e op builds like this one, you should take a look at cleric 12/monk 4/fighter 4. With flurry of blows and the two weapon fighting feat line it gets a ridiculous number of attacks per round, and it has all the worthwhile cleric spells.
Would I pump the 12 cleric first? Or would I Go monk level 1, cleric level 2, monk level 3, cleric level 4 etc
@@ArcaneAgent Take 1 level of cleric, then 1 level of fighter for martial weapon proficiency, 1 level of monk for flurry of blows (if I recall correctly), and then 11 levels of cleric. Monk 4 is there for the AC and the base attack bonus (classes with intermediate bab get upgrades in a +0, +1, +1, +1 pattern. Fighters get +1, +1, +1, +1, and wizards and sorcerers get +0, +1, +0, +1), and fighter 4 for weapon specialization and the extra attack per round. After cleric 12 you switch off fighter and monk every level so you don't get hit with the -20% experience penalty for multiclassing (this actually might not have made it to pathfinder, but was a major issue in dnd 3e/3.5e)
Yeah sounds doable. I'll dork with it
Hi, this build is rather strange...like Supremely strange...almost doctored ;)..love your work as always dude
What do you mean doctored ?
@@ArcaneAgent haha, nothing bad..only thing bad was my attempt to pun reference Doctor Strange :)
Ohhhh
I believe that the monk AC is you net positive/negative after defensive fighting and crane styles.
Its weird, you can carry around the lightest armor you have, and take it off/on to show that extra 1 ac from monk
I love your builds.
Thanks man, i love making them
You can flury with crossbows, any monk weapons. That was a couple of weeks ago so maybe not.
I used to play on a NWN2 server, and I would flurry and rapid shot shurikens hehe
I used a similar build with the hat of mental perfection plus 8 and the belt of phisical perfection plus 8 and the plus 5 robe and amulet, and braces plus 8 your char becomes a secundary tank that kills a lot a defensive offensive option
Do a nok nok Vivisectionist biter scratcher build plzzz
I like nok nok biter scratcher
I've been trying to build a rapier wielder who specializes in critting as often as possible. I can't decide between a rouge/barbarian or a rogue/fighter, and i also want some slayer or duelist
Fighters always get a jack ton of feats, and their Base Attack bonus is always amazings.
If you are casting spells in melee you need concentration. Combat casting gives you +4 on this check when casting spells in melee. Precise shot only works on ranged weapons when in melee. These are two different things. I can see why you wouldn't need combat casting in this build because you're mainly casting buffs before fights. But if you're getting close I'd recommend it specially on melee oriented classes like clerics or paladins. Just a minor observation since you mentioned this at the beginning of the video. Great work you put into these, keep it up.
If you look at the tooltip information after casting a ranged touch attack spell, it gets a negative attack from rapid shot.
So I'm not sure if precise shot applies or not to your spells
You dont need concentration if you have high ac
Problem is, for RANGED attacks including Ranged Touch Attacks, minus penalties from feats like Deadly Aim (?) and Rapid Shot WILL lower your attack chance. Sadly, they WON'T give you any increase in damage or attacks per round with that Ranged Touch Attack Spell. Total bummer I agree.
precise shot effects anything ranged to fire into melee as well, including ray spells.
Truedat. However, be warned. Casting a "Ray" spell in melee combat like that will provoke an Attack of Opportunity on you (unless you went Point Blank Mastery, which I do. hehehe.)
hi liquid!can you make a video to show us a two weapon fighting fighter or rogue!thx for your time!
Yeppera
Can you look at a build idea I had , going 1 sorc lvl, 9 scaled fist lvls, 10 dragon disc lvls, (I went arcane bloodline on sorc for the Hare +Initiative checks, mayb there is a better option) its fun for me to play he is a bruiser front liner with strong back up options with the dragon disc class, I wanna see if you can tinker with it and make a video on your idea of it would love to see what you come up with !!! Thanks Love the videos !!!
Forgot to mention the self buffing from the sorc line of spells comes in handy !
I surely can
If you had a different twist or something more powerful id love to know !
I'll look into it, I'm at a football game atm
Are you still going to make a finesse Monk?
Kinda did with the duelist monk druid, but yes I have an finesse monk in the works
@@ArcaneAgent if you already did don't worry about it. Right now I am working on a nightblade. Basically a rogue sorcerer
Im working on another rogue wizard hehe
An optimized dual wielder character with an animal companion would be fun if you built. :)
I'm building EVERYTHING
Just what I was waiting for.
Yeppers
I think this is an unfortunate build, it is true to its own description though.
a sorcerer already gains his spells 1 level behind a wizard adding 3 non sorc class levels means you are getting spells 4 levels behind an equivalent level pure wizard for the entire game.
essentially when you have level x spells allied wizard/cleric/druid should have level x+2 spells (not quite for Octavia as she has 1 level rogue dip)
On top of that you will never reach level 9 spells
Loved the mage armor on pets/summons tip and some of the other advice though.
I'm glad ya got something out of it.
I hope I can always drop tips people like
Ok Liquid, I need a super lucky Divination Halfling Wizard build. The luckiest little turd in the realms make it happen :)
Haha I have some ideas
@@ArcaneAgent Nice I few thousand in gold to hire him once you get em done.
Does it have to be Wizard? I mean I'm working on it, but does he have to be full wizard, or can I splash some things in, or even go Sorcerer?
@@ArcaneAgent Lol however you need it to be.
Halfling Diviners in 3.5 can fortell the future and are OP in the Luck and rerolling. :)
This is going to be a hard build, Diviners have a small spell list with 8th lvl Prediction of Failure being the last spell.
Never ever call yourself trash! you are valuable.
Haha thanks
Can u make a fighter/paladin build? Boring I know it's my favourite class.
Or arcane/assassin
Working on some wicked defending build right now, won't be a paladin though
@@ArcaneAgent ok, what about a paladin, monkish, glaive master type dude/dudette?? I might be typing out of my backside but could be a winner?
Monk might work for glaive
Does everyone realize that if you watch this on a PC you have the full transcripts
Hehe mayhaps they dont
I would like to see a powerful holy cleric build.
Like how powerful hehe
Why not use Erasti as your diety since favored weapon is longbow?
Because I was stupid
Old comment, I know, but unlike Favored Souls (which are not even in the game), Inquisitors and Clerics Paladins sadly get absolutely no benefit towards their deities favored weapon. It's simply a meaningless line when it comes to them and you can really just pick whatever deity you prefer in terms of fluff.
I personally took Inari for this build because the focus on longbows, the dip into monk and the general style of just being really fast and really precise with your shots and otherwise focussing on staying alive makes this feel very similar to the Zen Archer archetype and I like me some Inari Zen Archers.
Old comments are good comments
Love the builds, Liquid! I like designing singular builds myself, but found party design to be a much harder and enjoyable challenge. Just started over due to first run problems and now running a heavily defensive team with reach weapons, 4 animal companions, and lots of channel energy. Feels like I’m in charge of a spartan phalanx. Haven’t wiped yet the whole game!
That sounds amazing. Did you respec companions or go for mercs
Kept Ekun as is. Turned Amiri into mad dog with a respec mod. Gotta love the mad dog barbarian. So much potential!
So you had 3 animal companioms lol
Hi can you please make a SOLO build
What do you have in mind?
i'd like to see what the strongest/maybe most OP starting character is you can come up with.
Edit: Why does Loric have wings twice?
Its a known 🐛
Dragon Kin plus Asimar
@@ArcaneAgent It has been a while since i had messed with the game, but i believe you get it at a certain level as an Asimar. I remember seeing it twice before and redid the character to check. Is that the bug that they are not suppose to get it automatically?
I have no idea what's going on here but this was interesting to watch nonetheless.
Hahaha
If you accept constructive criticism; "I am taking X because I can" is meant to be a joke when used once. It quickly becomes repellant when repeated over and over especially when viewer tries to understand the reasoning behind your build choices.
You use it twice in the first 5 mins of your video and it already makes the viewer to stop watching the rest. I would suggest using something like "It is not important" or "It is optional, take whatever you want" before this incoherent phrase stick to your tongue.
I value the effort you put in. Better communication should yield more viewers.
Thanks man
pure elementaf shapeshifter pls!!
Ah so just elemental shape up to level IV elemental shape
@@ArcaneAgentYes pls. Tried it but didnt know enough to make it viable or decent at best^^
any builds that makes elemental shape auto attack better
Ah I get ya
Speedy elemental auto attacker
Dnt shave the beard
I shave it and re grow it hourly
Your builds are very good and entertaining to watch but they are pretty useless bro. You focus on lvl 20 builds that you can't reach in the gamer and that make your early/mid game harder (asuming you don't have the respecialization mod). Anyway, great videos to get ideas. Keep the good work.
I made a 2 paladin 1 Monk for the first 3 levels, how is that harder? He has great AB and can wear medium armor and use heavy shields at level 1. You can continue wearing that armor whenever you want
I think that is more fun than having to rely on out dpsing 30 mobs
Need more adds
Will do, I'll make sure to put as many as larger UA-camrs do
Get on fortnite
I cant
