How my sorcerer character worked on my "Challenging" playthrough:
1. Your spell fails to overcome the target's spell resistance
2. The target rolled a successful D20 + 25 save
3. The target is immune to this kind of spell
4. You are now out of spells
You need spell penetration from feats, use of metamagic and specializations for raising DC (you can raise some DC on spells to almost 50 and there is no creature that will pass it), knowledge of what creatures are immune to (why sirocco/cloudkill/obsidian flow is so good, with these 3 spells you can kill almost anything in the game).
For point 4 you can just rest a lot and also use shadow evocation if you have high DC's on illusion to effectively duplicate amount of spells you can cast for T3 and T6 spells :)
Also another way to play a sorc is as a transformation one. You basicaly dip into monk and dragon disciple and make use of beast shape and later on dragonkind which in combat gives you 70AC, 6 attacks with +25 to hit on each of them (that's without dazzling display and other companions flanking for example).
FYI: There is a spell called Polymorph that let's dragons take the shape of humanoids and vice versa in Pathfinder. Some dragon species know this spell innately whereas the others can learn it or use a magic item to cast it.
How dragons end up into the a person's bloodline... well dragons can polymorph at will into any species they choose to be.
Always nice to see another video of yours! :) Sorcerers are probably my favourite class in Pathfinder and D&D.

It's interesting you mention the draconic bloodline sorcerer going into dragon disciple for melee, but not as a pure spellcaster. I would think the +1 damage per die for their chosen element would be good, especially since it stacks with other items. So depending on your chosen element, you could have +2/3 per die as soon as Mim the gnome is unlocked. End game I think +4 is possible.
I would say the level 20 feat for elemental fire bloodline is better than infernal. On top of getting immunity to fire you become immune to crits and sneak attacks. You also get a constant passive freedom effect at level 15.
Dragons can shapeshift into human form, also there are draconoids, who are something like humanoid half-dragons. This may explain the interracial procreation. ;-)
Is elf sorcerer such a bad idea? Everybody goes human, gnome etc. for charisma, but I like Elves & + 2 to spell penetration is something good, right?

I always was taking the wizard since Baldurs gate 1. This makes me want to have the sorcerer
I know you probably know this, but I think you’re overlooking two factors with the necromancy bloodline.
1. The level 3 DR 5/ magic is insanely powerful early game. You can solo most of act 1 with just that- especially with high fortitude save to prevent poison.
2. The ability to daze and enchant skeletons in act 1 and 2 is extremely helpful.

Would it be viable to start as Sylvan Sorcerer (1) and then switch to Ranger (X) and finally (or sometime within the Ranger levels) to Dragon Disciple (4).
So you loose 2 BAB but gain +4 STR, +2 AC and gain full level pet without taking Boon Companion (freeing a feat slot for something else)

Hello. Thank you for Pathfinder videos. Have you tried to max out dex instead of con at unfair difficulty? I mean:if enemy can't hit you you will live longer. But i am not sure if it's working in this game
Yes, a Dexterity tank can work but armor doesn't protect against spells so you need to also buff up your saves and/or pick up paladin. It is difficult to make this work on a single class sorcerer, however.

Is there a way to make a wild magic character?
You didn't point out how the elemental bloodlines have the ability to change any elemental damage spell into their element. Taking Earth bloodline allows you to use the best fire and lightning spells against enemies that are otherwise resistant/immune/high DR against them by turning the damage into Acid. Which nothing in Pathfinder has immunity to. Which is particularly good against Trolls and other regenerative monsters. As it opens up more options for offensive spells to stop their regeneration.
In the Varnhold DLC you have some acid immune enemies. but at the vanilla game youre right :)

when my sorcerer character fails to do magic tricks he pulls out good old crossbow
I am really into niche builds. I wanna make a sorcerer who's words can kill (literally and metaphorically). Main offense will be light crossbows (likely carrying 4, each with a different enchantment like fire/ice/etc) CHA will be highest then INT, WIS and DEX (prefers to oursmart enemies rather than brute force).
Now how will I make it past those 3 bandits 🤔
I might be wrong but I believe Arcane Bolt (Sage Sorcerer) is not a range touch attack but it hits no matter what. Very similar to Arcane Missiles.
at 16:59 you can see the tooltip, which says it is a ranged touch attack
@@jand.4737 Unless this is changed by Eldritch Arcana then mine hits without a roll. Other spells say "the target must succeed on a range attack roll" but this one doesn't say anything like that.
Just tested it in game and I don't roll to hit and it lands like magic missile.
@@NdranC that is weird, but I didn't test it in game. i just see in this video that the description of arcane bolt says ranged touch attack.
And a target never rolls for the ranged attack. You have to succeed. The target only rolls saving throws and this doesn't force a saving throw

I went with a controller type pure Sage Sorc: Conjuration/Illusion, main spells were Mirror Image, Greater Invisibility, Stinking Cloud, Animate Dead, Phantasmal Killer, Weird. Not as flashy as an Arcane Trickster but gets the job done. Second most powerful class IMO after a Fire-Earth-Water Kineticist.
@Vale Sauce Because these give you and exorbitant amount of AoE damage and control. Fire is better damage-wise in the beginning IMO than Earth. Once you unlock Magma it burns enemies in an astonishingly short time plus with trip feats offers control too. With water added you can have 3 huge AoE pools going at once: a magma pool, a searing cloud and a swamp. Bring the twins along and nothing survices that.
@Vale Sauce Defense and DR doesn't really matter unless you go explicitly for the tank role. You need like 60+ AC to be relevant as a tank.
1 level dip into thug is definitely viable both for the cc of dazzling display and the sneak attack bonus but as soon as you get the trip feats and Earth, that'll be your main source of control.

Dragons can polymorph. Why? What were you thinking about?
You can polymorph pets and companions into dragons. Is that what you were talking about? Or perhaps you mean when he talks about using the Dragonkind spells as a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer?
Why is constitution so high?

Wizard is strongest in P&P Pathfinder? I thought the strongest was the Summoner, due to it basically being a 2 person character.... one which is a some what weak sorc, and one which is basically the D&D 5e Monk with benefits from Simic Hybrid
Why the hell is "Light" an option under spell specialization???
What you mean you dont wanna specialize in a cantrip that does nothing?
@@jonathannorthcutt4132 imo the most it should do is negate some/all of your stealth, but it's really only there so that the player can see wtf's going on. stuff like that shouldn't cost anything unless you're in a battle. maybe, just maybe, as you level up it gets a longer duration based on your level/stats. or possibly has a chance to decloak someone. but allowing everything to have a specialization is just superfluous and is there to trap someone not paying attention. It's not bad game design, it's terrible and malicious game design.
@@TheLukemcdaniel true but there are spells that sre just as bad to specialize in like melee touch spells on a ranged caster(happened to me on my current game accidentally specialized in vampiric touch >.>) luckily you can change it after a level up if i read it right so its not perma

@@TheLukemcdaniel Every time you gain a level in a spellcasting class, you can choose a new spell to replace the spell selected with this feat, and that spell becomes your specialized spell its free.
I wish the player were able to create all the party members instead of just one at the beginning of the game. Team creation like in Wizardry 8.
You can create an use all the party , just go a get them like mercenaries with the eight eyes elf in Olegs
@@xiuyoalli Unfortunately, that just costs a TON of gold, and the higher level you get (and thus more gold you have) the more it costs.
@@colinsmith1495 If your mc stays at lvl 1 when recruiting, the mercs will only cost 100 gold a pop, and you can just stock up on a bunch of mercs before leveling up.
@@colinsmith1495 And by the end of act two you will already have hundreds of thousands of gold with having probably close to 4-5kk in the endgame.

Some dragons have the ability to shape change into a humanoid.
Along with humanoids changing into dragon.
Then they fuck, as either dragon on dragon or humanoid on humanoid
Saying "Sorceress" is fine. Pathfinder uses the classical default to the female pronoun anyway.
or.. du vet, have a too high wil save. The swedishifaction of the english language has gone too far.
It is a sorceress… because Diablo 2 is best game evar.
