I remember travelling from Manila and touring Visayas and Mindanao in a first class cabin on a huge liner - the El Cano! I was only 9 at the time and I was awed by the pristine beauty of the islands. I'm 71 now and I will never exchange anything for that experience.
I heard that MV Masagana is Japan made because they already sell or replace St. Leo and St. John Paul MV in exchange of MV Masagana and MV Maligaya. That's why the toilet looks like a Japanese version and I heard that ship is a Cruise ship before that turned out passenger ship after Philippines bought it and remodel.
Most of the passenger ships in the Philippines are second hand mainly from Japan. Brand new is expensive too that's why still Japanese writing all over except some emportant signages have English translation.
Barko goers already knows that about the food free onboard. And it's explained before u pay the ticket. But some passengers knows that the food free onboard is not that much so they bring baon. That's what we did Butuan to Cebu and Cebu to Butuan 2go travel. Bring food all u want .😁
:This brings back a lot of my childhood memories. My parents took me and my brother from Iloilo to Manila and the reverse. Back then most people travel by boat and flights weren’t so common yet. Thank you for the video! ❤
My favorite way to travel inter-island tbh. If time is not an issue I'd pick that 2Go ride over a stressful encounter at NAIA. My last 2Go trip was back in 2017. I really miss those long hours on the deck, just looking at the sea, strong winds on my face. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I find superferry had nicer state rooms and meals were included in theprice. I listened to an add a guy put on showing the ship i didnt care gor his state room it was small compaired to what i had on superferry. He paid 8000p and my stateroom on superferry was bigger and had an off room balcony which was really nice to sit out lunch and dinner the first night was included and breakfast the next morning well worth the 3200p i paid far better than the 8000 he paid on 2go
@@richardhart6072 Hey bro... Superferry was bought by NENACO and now it became 2GO...other Superferry vessel is still currently in service under the management of 2GO and some others are sold to ship breakers for scrap.
My wife and I did this back in the early 2000's I think back then we didn't have the free meals and you could bring our own food ...we did get one of the 4 State rooms, no TV no phone access but had fun on the overnight trip
Miss this way to travel from iloilo to manila, before roro and more flights came in,we used to have this and correct me if im wrong it the schedule was on daily basis trip to manila and way to mindanao also.thanks guys for this nostalgic way of travel ❤️ take care
They need to make a big port like in Pappeetee, Tahiti, French Polynesia where the ships dock at the side of a passage way where passengers enter the ship on the 3rd level so you do not have to carry your luggage vertically but horizontally. There are elevators to ride going up to the third floor like in airports.
Huh? You are comparing an overnight interisland ferry service to a real cruise ship? Come on , be real do not be a show off. The vloggers had been to many travel and I think they had been to Tahiti. Your comment is un called for. Come to Sydney or New Zealand and see how a real Cruise ship really operates.
@@carloscuanan9848 LOL why not,? Why aim for just the mediocre? I saw the one in Maldives too and those too look much better than the one shown in the Philippines. If you want moneyed tourists, improve your service but if you want back packers then stay primitive and wayward. Congratulations, FYI not a show off, you are more of the show off, FYI I did travel to New Zealand.
2GO masagana and 2GO maligaya is only a local/inter island cruise ship and the philippine ports is not the same as you think on other countries but 2GO vessels are qualified by IMO, qualified as internationally standard.
2GO great passenger liner Masagana, or Malagaya, their latest modern boats suite 302 was our room iloilo manila iloilo then manila I hope you enjoyed your trip. Its worth it
We stayed in that same room 302 traveling from Cagayan de Oro to Iloilo for the Dinagyang. 😍😍 The music on that toilet wasn't working lol I heard 2go Maligaya is even bigger!
I took an another early retirement and I'm going to my home country to explore any enjoy my farm-a-zee in Zambales. I already showed my friends your vlog. Thanks for this awesome idea.
State Rooms typically are placed at the higher decks of a ship. As having sailed in the navy back in the day. You know really quick that being on higher levels/decks or floors. Makes for one dizzy experience. since ships sway a lot more at the higher decks vs the lowers decks hahahaha
I just bought a round-trip ticket from Manila to Iloilo , March 14th to the 21st , for a crazy price of $36.30. For me you can keep the boat, I will fly for so cheap it's unbelievable but absolutely true!
This is so freaking cool. I’ve said they should have ferry’s for Lake Erie. They would be so fun. I’m in the US, but how cool would it be to take a day trip from Buffalo to Toronto?
Thank you for sharing this experience with us. We did not know about this option. We know about taking a boat to other island but not about the 2go. We are excited to go home to Philippines.
Traveled on the 2go Maligaya in October last year the trip was a nightmare food terrible and best had to wait in the sun for 2 hours to be allowed to go into the departure lounge and then another 2 hours to board. Had to carry bags upstairs from the dock to the cabin level. The toilets and showers were filthy. the porters asked for 4000 Pecos to unload our cases. would not consider traveling on 2go ever again.
Looks like a nice way to travel although the state room price is a bit above my budget level. It has been a long time since I have been on a ferry to anywhere but I am planning to try it in the near future. I went from North Sydney NS to Argentia NF and it was 18 hours and I did not get a room just sat in the common area and it was fine for me. I believe they have a new ship for that route and it gets you there in half the time the old ship did. I love being on the ocean, probably due to spending 15 years in NS so I am looking forward to trying some sea way travels.
I miss riding this ship when I go to visaya or mindanao but after my father passed away I stopped going to the south island of the Philippines, it bring back fun memories.😊
I heard starlink over top half country and rest to be this year. Be nice big dock at back of boracay, puerto princessa, bantayan, maya, puerto galarra, bohol panglao so a real cruise ship could tour best beaches on a week or 2 long cruise. Tourists would fly in at 5000 to 25000php a day all in rooms on a Caribbean style cruise ship...
When you ask for room service it’s just normal to give tip .Did you notice the server is standing there waiting for you to hand tip?Its part of good service your Canadian you should know that.

Wow! This looks like a great experience so far. Very nice boat with plenty on it. That state room looks like the best 👌 Having ur own bathroom is priceless IMHO. Getting your dinner in the price looks good but it's a shame the stores on-board are closed - snacks are essential lol 😆 Look forward to seeing the arrival 😀 Much love xxx
After traveling on many bad ferries over the past 20 years in PH, I am glad to see 2GO going to most locations now. Also, someone needs to cut down on their caffeine in take. Although love the love her energy so maybe just have her cut back a little.

That's true and you feel the vibrations of the engines laying in bed, kind of get used to it. But we really didn't get dizzy we had good weather
